Been a while since I've been to this location do to the lack of great customer service. I stop in because I really wanted some Denny's an it's the closest location. I have to say Courtney was wonderful. She would come by periodically check up and talk a bit. She also made sure my order was to the way I wanted. First Denny's cooks does not know how to cook. I order over easy eggs got over cooked. Husband order steak medium rare got medium well. This place is a joke. The server was nice, easy going. #89-2021 Another Denny's? Lol, yep they're located in so many truck stops for over almost 15 years now. This one north of Houston on interstate 69 formerly u.s. 59 headed out towards Texarkana and the flying J has been through its changes through the years I haven't been here probably in a little over a year. I think last time was during covid and you have to get things to go and eat out in the truck. So like many other Denny's flying J reviews this will be simply limited the food was excellent I got the short stack of pancakes paid a buck to add the blueberries and the ala- cart turkey bacon only two slices cuz I wasn't super hungry so no eggs No slam. I was greeted and seated promptly the facility was nice and clean and do a real good job I could see on the tables here wiping things down as people leave which is nice. Staff was really good very friendly pretty crowded for a morning but all in all and above average Denny's again for me on this visit. read more

If you don't want to jump right into the high end restaurant business, Dennys (then ease) yourself into it, by working at Denny's. Actually don't. Ever. On your way out of Texas heading up the East Texas Expressway out of Humble you'll find a nice truck stop here with a Denny's serving absolute crap breakfast food to unsuspecting people with bad taste in breakfast food. If you think this is what American breakfast food is supposed to taste like then you don't know American breakfast food. At least it's open 24 hours a day - I mean what more are you going to ask for. I've dined at this location many times in the last decade, and wow, has it gone downhill. Our server seemed to be under the influence of narcotics. The service was slow and about as unenthusiastic as the food. The overall feel of the restaurant is not traditional, considering it's a truck stop location. I ordered eggs and biscuits and gravy. Scheduled a curbside order online. Got there called the number to tell them that I was there and what the number said to do and was told and she kept telling me they didn't have delivery drivers I needed to call Doordash and I had to explain no ma'am I am here for my curbside order "We don't do that here you gotta come in". I did let her know I was looking directly at the sign but they just don't do curbside. Then went inside to pick it up and the woman gave half the order and was mad bc my husband went back to get the rest of the order and it was just handed to him rudely like he was in the wrong. Not to mention the ticket actually says curbside and the description of the truck they asked for so they would know where to bring it. Maybe the inside staff should be retrained on customer service especially when customers aren't being rude just wanted what they paid for. read more

Stopped by for breakfast. Our waitress was slow it took 20 mins to get coffee and water. Then noticed black specks floating in our water so they replaced it. Skip this Denny's!! Saturday September 24 at 7:30am I ordered curbside pickup online and was waiting at the curbside pickup I called and the guy said that it will be out shortly and then when I got the notification that the order was ready at 7:30 I called again and the guy said "yeah it's ready" very rude and he hung up on me. I waited until 7:39 and I walked inside and no one was at the front but my order was at the register I took it and walked away. Based on this experience i will start going to a different location. Why even say you have curbside when we still have to get off and get our own order not only that but get a rude person to deal with. Hopefully management sees this and talks to the guy at the front that answers the phone. read more

Every time I come here, the service is terrible. Not sure if it's just bad luck or what. I continue to come because it's close to home, cheap, and I like the food. I do usually go late at night, so that could contribute to the bad service but like I said, it's always really bad. This last time my waitress took our drink orders and came with them almost 30 minutes later with these exact words "I forgot." Oh man, that made me mad. We have had breakfast here a few time on the weekend. Its always packed but the service was good and the food without complaint. We have never been for dinner and won't go again. Everything was terrible. The food was over cooked. My rice was dried out, like seriously hard and the grilled veggies were nasty. I showed our server very graciously and she said "oh, sorry" with a nervous giggle. She never came back to our table. I was so Happy when the old Hot Biscuit became one of our favorites, Denny's. Looks great inside, staff friendly but inattentive. A lot of standing around and personal conversations going on. In between shooting takes for my new movie, The Winds of Change, about a dog who won't eat his vegetables, I decided to stop for lunch at a nice restaurant. When I couldn't find one, however, I came here instead. Surprisingly for a Denny's, my server was very friendly and my food very enjoyable. This wasn't just because I am famous, either, as I was wearing a paper bag over my head the entire time. Unfortunately, I was disappointed by the behavior of the oldest manager, who I saw and heard yelling in the back at employees. As a famous person, I was very distraught at the abusive and unprofessional behavior that I saw from her. It made me feel sad, but in a famous way. So in conclusion, I enjoyed my lunch at Denny's, save for the unprofessional managerial conduct I witnessed. Horrible service!!! ppl are racist. My sister and me got their and there was other Mexican ppl waiting to be seated. A long come a group of American elderly and they get seated right away. Didn't say anything because they were elderly. And I was ok with it. A long come 2 American elderly and they say hi to the workers and get seated immediately. The other Mexican family that was waiting already decided to sit themselves. They looked like they were mad aswell. Then 2 guys come in and get seated. While we were still waiting in line!!
