Ever find that place you want to go to almost every week or multiple times a week to get the same 2 dishes? This is that spot for locals and travelers alike. Right off of 101, it is a no fuss joint, full of wonderful speedy staff, who take pride in bringing you that breakfast or lunch that meets your expectations. Try their chocolate pancakes with a side of peanut butter - it'll give you that food hug you were longing for.

It's impossible to ruin hash totally but at so many restaurants you get your eggs on top of an overly salty cake of meat and potatoes that might well have come out of a freezer. Not at Stevie's. To my delight the over-easy eggs (perfectly cooked by the way) were on top of freshly made potatoes and meat, with really fresh-tasting onions and a touch of other vegetables. Replete with flavor and not salted too much. I'd be prepared to say this is the best corned beef hash I've ever had (and at age 69 I am no spring chicken) and well worth the trip.

It was a good amount of egg and chorizo but not nearly enough cheese. The salsa was homemade and spicy - definitely made a statement! My husband had the chorizo scrambled eggs with house potatoes. Both the eggs and potatoes were great. The staff were friendly and helpful - yes, even "the daughter" previously criticized by other reviewers started badly, but then transformed into a very warm person. It's not a place you come to for atmosphere, but for good food it works and the staff clearly work hard. One caveat, the women's restroom needs some work.

The mole enchiladas were DELICIOUS (if you don't mind the sweet mole) The salsa trio they have is flavorful and their middle salsa is spicy. Their churros were a pleasure to eat. The only thing that caught my attention was it was an inch or more from the top. To me, the glass should've been full or served in a different glass. I ordered the chips and salsa and all three salsas were delicious. I ordered the red enchiladas with combination of cheese and chicken. It didn't seem like they offered shredded beef, which I usually always get. I think it's that they lacked flavor. They're definitely not covered in sauce like you may be used to at other places. I had to put so much salsa on the enchiladas so that I could taste something. The beans and rice were decent. I don't know if I'd ever go back myself, but this is my opinion only. The service was great, so no complaints there.

We finally got the chance to check it out. We arrived on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. The Prunedale Market is located along side the highway 101 freeway in the small town of Prunedale. It just takes a few long right turns to get there. Parking is easy and accessible out in the front parking lot. From the front, the market does not look like a popular BBQ spot. It looks like a simple small market store to grab quick snacks and drinks. Once inside there is a BBQ and deli section to your right. A small dining area is to your left. The decor is old fashioned and quaint. The 2 gentlemen greet you with friendly hospitality. We ordered the Tri tip sandwich, half slab of ribs which includes 2 potatoes and a cup of corn chowder. The pit master/owner Martin, who use to work for Original Joe's, was kind enough to also include a quarter chicken leg, a sausage, and extra ribs. It was so much food for our party of 3. Everything was delicious and hearty. The Tri tip sandwich was scrumptious with the flaming Fritos adding a nice crunchy texture and kick with every bite. The ribs were juicy and smokey. Potatoes complemented very well with the rest of the meat and chicken. Corn chowder was so tasty and creamy. I did not know corn chowder was that good. Overall we enjoyed our experience at the Prunedale Market. The staff were super nice and accommodating. They even offered for our son to grab some free ice cream to go. We politely declined. The prices were very reasonable. All that food fed us for the next 2 days. Lol. We hope to be back when we are in the area with other friends and family.

The inside of the restaurant is nice and clean. There is a large beautiful mural on one of the walls that really stands out. We started with a tempura mix appetizer. This is the first time I have had tempura veggies that were soggy. Not crunchy at all, which took away from the taste and experience. The dipping sauce also lacked flavor. For my dish, I ordered their salmon teriyaki and crunch roll lunch. It came with miso soup, salad, and rice. The miso soup was good. The salad dressing was delicious. The salmon was unfortunately overcooked and a bit stiff. The rice was dry too and not the typical sushi rice that I am used to, so that took away from the tastiness of the meal. The crunch roll was not my favorite. The sauce drizzled on top was spicy, but I did like it. There was not much of a crunch for a crunch roll. I unfortunately did not have a great experience with the food as some items were soggy or dry and they are not supposed to be. The salad dressing and miso soup were the tastiest items I tried.

The entrance isn't too far from the lot, making it an easy venue for everyone, especially elderly individuals. The ball room was very clean and there was plenty of seating on large round tables. Every seat had a large glass water cup ready for us; I found that to be a great touch considering we were out in the heat for a few hours. The service was good; there were a few individuals wandering around ensuring everyone had what they needed and the buffet full of food. The scenery and outdoors are gorgeous. As expected, the grass was well trimmed. Lots of places to go for a walk or have a seat. I would highly recommend The Club At Crazy Horse Ranch for anybody that needs a venue for an occasion. In our case it was after a funeral, but this place would be good for a baptism, graduation, wedding or any other event where large groups of people collect.

The servers know us well and greet us, we typically eat there once or twice per week. Their salsa is fresh and delicious (fresh roasted tomatoes and jalapeños) however the spice level can vary depending on the jalapeños peppers they use. Chips and salsa are free. Fresh made tortillas are a great addition to their meals. Their Spanish rice and refried beans are delicious, I could have just rice and beans with flour tortillas and be perfectly satisfied. For Breakfast, the Chorizo and eggs is my favorite served with rice and beans (country potatoes are an option) with corn or flour tortillas. My wife enjoys their pancakes. I enjoy their Coffee as well. For Lunch from 11AM to 3PM, they have several combination specials, but I like their red burrito. A meat filled (choice of carnitas, carne asada, shredded beef, chili Colorado and more) burrito covered with enchilada sauce and cheese served with Spanish rice, refried beans and a small salad with sour cream and guacamole. Carnitas dinner is another great choice. My wife loves their deep fried or grilled shrimp, but her favorite dish lately has been the chile rellanos. This is a hole in the wall joint, just good food at a decent price. Due to its popularity, we try to go during off hours between the crowds. After reading some of the one-star reviews I was disappointed, but noticed the number of reviews is relatively few for the number of customers this restaurant serves. Yes, if they are busy, service can suffer as they may only have one or two servers working both the customers in the restaurant and all the takeout orders. Are they perfect every time, of course not. However being local and wanting to support a good local restaurant, we understand the difficulties in running a popular business and a little inconsistency is expected. And somewhere along the way, Phil's has become part of the tradition. The first few times we came down, we were on a mission to find the best cioppino. We tried multiple places that all made their own claims to the title, but after our very unofficial family taste test, Phil's was the clear winner. Their cioppino is what keeps us coming back -- rich, comforting, loaded with seafood, and exactly what I want after a day on the coast. We also tried the sea bass fish and chips, which were excellent. The fish was buttery and flaky inside with a nice crisp exterior, and the portion was generous with four good-sized pieces of fish. At this point, a Monterey Aquarium trip almost feels incomplete without a stop at Phil's. We may come down for the fish at the aquarium, but we stay for the fish at Phil's.

The cioppino is totally overrated, the clam chowder had zero clams in it. The entrees come with a side salad and garlic bread and are hefty portions. The seafood pastas are what are solid here. We got our food in a timely manner. Hospitality itself is pretty non existent though.
