they do good work on my boots, my cowboy boots and work boots. The frustrating thing with this business is you don't know when they're gonna go to lunch. It varies and sometimes they don't put a note on the door so you'll drive all the way out there thinking they're open and they're at lunch. You don't know if they just went to lunch if they're just coming back from lunch.. that's bad business. Your customers have to know when you're gonna be open. 6/25 Decided to pick up my ankle boots whether they were ready or not - IF they could find them. Took a couple minutes but thank goodness I had my receipt - it's VERY important to keep your tag! The shoes were ready and they did a beautiful job. Very apologetic about the lack of communication but I don't see that changing in the future. I came 25 minutes away to pick up my husband's work boots, which they told him would be ready on Tuesday. When I arrived, the shop was closed for Veterans Day. Yes, there's a sign on the door that says "closed all holidays," but no one mentioned that when they promised a Tuesday pickup - no call, no message, nothing. I came back the next morning at 10:30 AM and was told to return at 1:30 PM. I stayed in town (since it's too far to go home), came back at 1:45 PM, and the door was locked with a "closed for lunch" sign saying they'd return at 2:45. When I returned, they told me it would be another 45 minutes. It's now 3:40 PM. I've spent hours waiting, missed my daughter's appointment, and even had to pay extra to reschedule. When I explained all this, I said at minimum they should take $15 off, since that's less than what it cost me to reschedule. Instead, they offered $10 off - and the manager, Art, said he wouldn't have even given me that and told me I could have left if I didn't want to wait. That level of disregard for a paying customer's time was disappointing and unprofessional The reason I didn't leave earlier was because of what I'd already seen and heard from other customers. The day before, an elderly man and woman were outside, surprised by the closure. They told me it was their fourth attempt to pick up their items and that they were now 30 days past their original pickup date. Then, today, while I waited, another couple came in to pick up their boots and a suitcase repair and said they were now one week past their promised date. A little later, a woman with a purse repair decided to leave with it unfinished after saying she'd already been waiting more than two weeks beyond her promised pickup.. To top it off, the whole shop smelled strongly of weed - so much that two other people mentioned it, and one woman literally stood outside because she couldn't stand the smell. I've never experienced such a mix of disorganization, disrespect, and lack of professionalism. They are very nice people and the work that they do was of a satisfactory quality. Be warned. They are a little unprofessional. They're a little unconventional. They are very unorganized and it is definitely going to take more time to get the shoes done than you think it will. They extended the time on me three times. Their prices are fair but while I was in there picking my boots up for the fourth time they were very busy and I heard them tell at least two people that they were not done with their shoes and they would have to come back. Great service! Walked in with my belt today to see if they were able to add some new holes to it. I was thinking it would be a 24 hour request. I have used these guys several times. They never have the shoes done when requested, they always ask for more time with various excuses. They say they will call when the shoes are ready and never do. I let it go because it was close to me. Their lunch hours change daily and I have had to go back several times to catch them, they never answer the phone either. The last time, was the last straw. I took a pair of Sandals in in early July to have the elastic replaced, they told me they didn't have red elastic. No problem I said, use tan. I went back 3 weeks later and they weren't done. Their machine was broken or the color of thread was an issue. I went back 3 weeks later, still not finished, he offered me a discount. A couple weeks later I sent my husband,. FINALLY in early SEP they were done. My husband told them this was unacceptable and they called him a name which I won't repeat here (we didn't get the discount either) I DO NOT recommend this shop. read more

I'm actually shocked by the 5 star reviews here. This place had a bag of mine and nice leather sandals needing a strap repaired. I was told to pick up in one week, when I arrived a week after that date, they hadn't even started. I just came back over a month later, bag was not repaired and the sandal had the biggest botch job of a repair done. I actually started laughing when I saw it. Leather wasn't the same color (he rubbed die on it after I mentioned the color difference) different color stitching... not sure why you wouldn't replace the entire strap, but needless to say I just wasted three trips over there plus $15. Will not be returning or suggesting this establishment to anyone in the future. read more

Sole fell off one of my work boots. Seems like they did a fine job and had the shoes ready for me the same day.

If you need work on your shoes or other leather goods, avoid Country Cobbler at Power and Southern. Pure incompetence! I dropped off my shoes to have sole protectors and toe plates installed. They told me one week. One week later I called and left a message. No return call. I showed up on the 10th day. Sole protectors were installed, but the toe plates were misaligned and sitting on top of the sole protectors - incorrect installation. Literally any cobbler should be able to install toe plates correctly! And, there was a ballpoint pen mark on the side of the shoes. These are $400 Allen Edmonds! I told the clerk behind the counter that I was very displeased. He said he would take them off. I thought he was referring to the toe plates. He was not! When I got the shoes back, they had ground the sole protectors off. Now my brand new Allen Edmonds likely need to be resoled. I asked to have my claim check back, and the clerk said "No". Clearly they have done this before because now I have no way to prove they damaged my shoes. read more

They don't go by last name or even the number on the tag that they gave you. They were looking all over the store. And drawers on top of shelves. Just take a look at it it's so disorganized. Took in two purses handles to another purse to be repaired in September of last year. Came back in to pick it up only to find they were closed because of fire. I continuously called for four 1/2 months. not once did I get a response went into their store to pick up my items they couldn't find them. They said they think they know where they are call back on Friday I called back no response for three days. I finally got back into the store again they couldn't find it and that I was more than welcome to file a small claims case because the owner did not have time to look for them yet they are bringing in new business they're not willing to take care of a client that has been patient for six months, I will never bring any of my items back to the store I will tell anyone i know that they are not to be trusted. Long story short they told me my bag would be done in a couple days...which turned into over a month of telling me to come pick up my fixed bag, and I would show up and they hadn't even started it or said it wasn't done yet because of difficulties (then why would you tell me to come in??). That happened 4 times before they finally said they couldn't fix it at all. I talked to the owner and somehow while I was there to pick up my ruined bag he fixed it in 5 minutes and gave it to me for free for the trouble. So I give them credit for fixing it and being extremely nice through the whole process. But serious organization and communication issues that made it so frustrating. read more

My fiancé and I were visiting Mesa on 1/29/22 and decided to stop at a little strip mall to see all the stores. Well imagine our surprise when we spotted the store. I can not say enough wonderful things about this family business! I showed up there on the verge of tears after going to another shop that ruined the strap to a brand new Louis Vuitton handbag. That same shop told me they could not replace the bottoms of my favorite cowboy boots and had to attach (glue) a black piece to the bottom of the boots (I thought strange but ok), well it turns out they just didn't know how to do it. So, after they ruined my purse strap I took my boots and left. All of the employees at Country Cobbler are so helpful and kind. They did a FANTASTIC job on my cowboy boots.
