We are new to the area and I needed to find a good shoe repair. Felt like Goldilocks. First place I went to they said they were not able to do what I asked (which quite frankly was a pretty easy thing to do). Second place I went to the customer service was pretty unfriendly and then they charged what seemed to me to be a pretty hefty fee. I went with it cuz i wasn't sure if this was market for the area. But then I found GK Custom. First of all even if the owner is wearing an Ohio apron (go Badgers) he was friendly and personable. Great conversation about football. Then said yes, he was not only able to do what the first guy said was not possible, he then charged less and far more reasonably for the other job I was quoted. Picked up those two pair of shoes yesterday and the work is great so I dropped off another pair of shoes. I have to drive a bit further to get here, but it's worth it. Highly recommend. read more

I brought in about six pairs of shoes for various repairs, and I couldn't be happier with the results. From resealing soles onto boots, replacing heel taps, and even fully resoling heels--everything was done with care and precision. The service was quick, professional, and the customer service was excellent. It's a family-owned shop run by a father and son, and you can tell they really take pride in their work. The man who gave us the quote and it seems does most of the work was very friendly and helpful. His price was reasonable and when a different place had tried to charge almost $200 for a half sole replacement and cleaning of some cowboy boots this place only charged $50 and even did the cleaning for free. He also gave some great tips for keeping the boots in their best condition going forward. We will bring all our repairs here for sure!!! I brought in a crossbody bag and the strap was too short. Initially, I took it to an alteration place they were unable to help and recommended a shoe repair shop that would have the machinery to stitch the bag. I had extra strap I purchased on Etsy to add to the bag. When I got to GK footwear, they were so helpful and explained how they could extend the strap and re stitch in about a week. Hidden gem. But maybe only hidden bc I'm still considered a newbie to the valley! I purchased a pair of Steve Madden heels 3 weeks prior to wearing them. Within the first and only time wearing them, the tap/heel broke. I wanted to wear the shoes again so I found GKs which was relatively close to where I'm located. I called to let him know my situation and that I'd need them back within 1 day . He was able to deliver, and they altered both shoes to not only show that they fit but also match perfectly. Poor service. If I could give no star I would. Dropped my shoes for polish. They had them for about a week. When I picked them up, a day later than the promis date, they said they had no power. They didn't bother to prioritize or call customers with pending pick up dates. Do better. read more

Amazing service! Came here a month ago with severely discolored Timberlands and damaged suede Jordan 3's. Within a week or so I got them both back looking way better than I expected. Jordan's looked brand new and he even managed to get the boots matching after receiving what was damn near two completely different colored boots. Would very much recommend! read more

My husband has flat feet so he has to have special shoe inserts. We went to a foot doctor and spend a ton of money, my husband was in pain because the doctor did not give him the correct shoe inserts, and it was a total waste of time and money. I found GK Custom Footwear thru yelp. I needed to have some shoes repaired and found out that they specialize in orthotics, my husband has to have special modeled shoes so we decided to give them a try, boy I'm so glad we did. I can not give this place enough praise!! My husband let them take his old shoe moldes that where made out of plastic and they put a cover on top of them that is much more comfortable for him. My husband also let them take a shoe mold of his feet so they could customize what he needed. My husband has been skipping around like a kid, no back pain, he loves his new shoe inserts. We are going back this week to buy the custom made shoes that they sell. These people are way better then a Doctor and they care! I really appreciate the fact that Mr. Urrutia was willing to take his time with us to make sure that I understood the process. Thank you Mr. Urrutia for all your hard work!
