I came for brunch after my Polar Bear 5k in Prospect Park on Saturday morning. The restaurant was small but had a great energy. It was busy when we arrived. A table shortly opened up but parties aren't allowed to sit until all guests arrived and I was waiting for one of my friends. We decided to get mimosas while we waited. The owner was extremely nice and said he would hold the table for as long as he could. My friend arrived and we were seated. I got a chocolate crossaint to start. For breakfast, I ordered eggs, potatoes, bacon, and toast. All the food was so fresh and tasted delicious. My friends loved their food as well. Service was great. Everyone in the restaurant was so friendly and complimented us on our race because they saw our medals. I would definitely recommend this place! read more

Nicely crisped, with Gruyère that actually stood out (bless), but I've had more flavorful takes just down the block, looking at you, French Tart. The mushroom soup tasted... like mushrooms. That's not a complaint or a compliment. It just was. Service was quick and polite, if a little too eager at first. I felt a nudge to move along, but I pushed back with my best "Brooklyn linger" energy and they adjusted just fine. Scored an outdoor seat right away, which helped save the mood. Overall? WOW. I feel bad saying we came here as a back up option because our first choice brunch place was packed but I'm so glad we did. I can honestly say this was the best smoked salmon eggs Benedict I've ever had. The flavorful hollandaise sauce, perfectly cooked eggs, high quality salmon on multigrain bread. Holy smokes it was truly delicious. Even the side salad was great. My husband really loved his sandwich and we also shared the fruit salad which was surprisingly good and all the fruit was ripe. Also the mango peach lemonade was soooo fresh and delicious. Highly recommend! coffees also looked amazing but we didn't have any. I went at 5:30 this evening for a last minute early dinner at this favorite neighborhood cafe. I eat lunch and early dinners on a regular basis. I arrived today at 5:30pm and was informed that the restaurant closes at 6pm. I said that we can order immediately and don't need to look at the menu. I was shocked when the manager informed me that the kitchen was closed and clean. I could order a beverage. I left wondering if the owner knows that the workers have a totally clean kitchen at 5:30 and are turning away paying customers. This is a new unwelcome practice. read more

Stopped by with a friend for a lunchtime meet up, very cute little neighborhood spot pretty perfect for lunch. As someone who has been to Paris, this French style spot was pretty close to many places I have been over there. Started with 2 Chai's, I am tea girly so I loved that these basically came in bowls. So much chai! Tasted good but could have been more spiced. For lunch, I ordered a Couleur Baguette Sandwich. Perfect choice! It was a warm sandwich so the cheese was melted perfectly with a great tang from the pickled veggies on top. Went there for brunch on Saturday. We were seated quite fast which was great. I go t the norvégian Benedict and my friend got the œufs sur le plat. Both dishes came fast. We had also ordered 2 cappuccinos which we waited and waited for. We were already halfway through our meals and still no cappuccinos. Had to ask again for them. The waiter took note but didn't apologize. It had been 20 min since we had ordered them. They finally brought one over and said the second was coming.. it did after 5 min. The food was disappointing. $20 a dish and my norvegian Benedict barely had any Benedict sauce!! Really a letdown. Eggs were overcooked too. So it was all dry overall. Not enjoyable. My friend's dish was super plain with some bacon strips and 4 wedges potatoes and scrambled eggs. It was a very sad looking dish. Disappointing. Clearly, the kitchen is overworked. The waiters are understaffed. They are running around like mad chickens trying to take orders etc. The noise level inside is deafening. I could barely hear my friend speak. I think I found my new favorite café in Brooklyn. From the food to the coffee to the friendly staff, everything about this restaurant was wonderful. I was seated right away on a Saturday and was able to get some work done while enjoying my meal. Important to note they do not have outlets so bring devices fully charged. The staff there were attentive and kind, service was fast, and prices were slightly higher than most places. I got their homemade pumpkin spice latte which was HUGE and so so good. I also got one of their specials which was pesto, mozzarella, tomato & an egg on a sandwich with a side of roasted potatoes. It was the perfect portion size and had really fresh ingredients. Those who eat with me knows there must be some sort of greens on the table. We went for the Organic Kale Butternut Squash Salad, subbed with arugula instead since they were out of kale but I thought arugula tasted just fine. Topped with soft butternut squash, sliced cucumbers, dried cranberries and figs, tossed in a shallot dressing with pumpkin seeds for crunch. Hubs went with boring ole Ouefs sur le Plat aka egg platter with bacon and scrambled eggs; bacon was on the extra crispy side and not to our liking. Overall, we enjoyed our morning date. I stopped by for brunch on a Friday early afternoon and it was the best decision. They have outdoor and indoor seating where some are having lunch, others are working on their laptops. We were seated inside but the table was definitely kind of small. Our orders were taken quick and our food came out so quick (before our drinks too which I was surprised at). The eggs had a great flavor and the potatoes were well seasoned too. They don't have Turkey bacon but I swapped the bacon for my order with a salad. Food tasted great! This was a random lunch spot that I stumbled across on Yelp and I'm very glad I did. We came on a Sunday and it was peak lunch time. The wait was not bad and the waitstaff assured us that it was a 20-25 min wait. The inside of the restaurant is pretty cute with a bar and mini station to the side. It was a bit loud inside and hard to hear people but not overwhelming. I got the organic poulet salad and an iced strawberry matcha latte. The chicken salad was great, very generous with the chicken. The latte was surprisingly great. It didn't have a vibrant green color to it or a layer of strawberry syrup like I thought it would, but the flavors really came through. Highly recommend! But the star of the show was the French toast. Omggg it was so soft and moist inside unlike the usual dry toasts that I've had. I had one bite and was in heaven. Unfortunately, this was on the speciality menu so I'm not sure how often they make it. read more

After long walk finally found this cute spot to have brunch at. Walking in I saw this place being full that was a great sign for me. We stopped in on a rainy Saturday for brunch. The wait around 11am wasn't terrible and we found the restaurant to feel so cozy. My partner ordered the croque monsieur and was very pleased. Since the cocotte are only available on the weekends, I opted for the bacon gruyere version. It's supposed to be topped with over easy eggs that ooze all over the dish. Instead they were completely cooked through, so the dish was completely dry. It was like mashing up a hardboiled egg with bacon and crusty cheese. I was really disappointed. I even mentioned it to our waiter, who said he's let the chef know because it definitely shouldn't be served in that way; however, no one followed back up and I was still charged the full price for the dish. It was a disappointing customer service experience as well. I did get an oat milk turmeric latte to go, which was quite good. read more

Love me a French cafe in the middle of the Brooklyn. I'm a huge sucker for anything French / European. So as you can imagine, I instantly fell in love when I stepped into this charming little cafe. Unfortunately, they were so busy, we decided to do take out (it so happened that by the time our food was ready, about half the restaurant cleared out, c'est la vie). The food definitely hit the spot for hearty, healthy-ish brunch fare. I got the smoked salmon crepe, which came with a little garden side salad. My boyfriend got the mixte croissant sandwich (which is basically a croque monsieur in croissant form) and a French onion soup. I will say that the soup doesn't look like much; it looked more yellow than brown, as is typical of onion soup. But it tasted better than it looked, though my standards for the dish have been elevated since I learned how to make it myself over the pandemic. Don't expect your food to be ready quickly, especially when it's busy. Even though we didn't dine in, the server who took our order at the cash register was very nice, and as we were waiting, one of the diners announced to him that she had left him a big fat 30% tip. read more

We came to this French Style bistro after my companions had just finished their 5K and were eager for some good French cooking. We got drinks to start - a mimosa, a Bloody Mary, and a Bloody Maria. Two of our dishes came at a reasonable speed, but the third never seemed to appear. After waiting for about 30 minutes and the other two basically being consumed after pressure for it to not go cold, we asked. There was apparently a mixup with the orders and it had never gone through - they were apologetic and gave us a mimosa on the house. The food was fine, but not something I'd ever crave or deeply want, but I think that's just my take on French food. I think they made good on their error, but I still wonder how they were able to pass by and not notice someone was missing their entree. Literally the most welcoming and friendly cafe I've ever been to. My friends and I stopped by for a study session and had a great time. The staff does not rush you and are the friendliest people known to man. We stayed from around 7ish to closing time. The place turns into a bar at night, but still gives you that cafe vibe (by candle light). They serve their drinks in bowls, it was super cute!! GET THE MATCHA LATTE, I love it so matcha :) The staff even offered us free desert in an effort not to waste food that was not sold in the morning (now you know they like to keep things fresh!). I ordered the scrambled breakfast plate with bacon and potatoes. The bacon was cooked perfectly, the potatoes were a little too salty for my liking, but it's all good! I wanted to like this place more than I did. The place is adorable, the decor is very cute and makes you want to stay and hang out. But the music was SO loud for a cafe. No one seemed to stay for very long and I really think the music just throws the whole place off. Not a very good playlist to begin with and it's annoying to have to listen to the table next to you try to talk over the music. The coffee was great. I really enjoyed my iced latte. The food was just good enough. I got the eggs Benedict, which at first I was a little annoyed they were on whole wheat toast instead of English muffins, but I actually preferred it!
