Went to Cotton Patch for my grandson's birthday. We tried to order a beer and were told only 2 different draft beers were available. I asked the server for a lime and there was no response so I assumed I would get one. Another person delivered the beers and when I asked for a lime, I got a very curt answer of "no limes". We received our basket of rolls. Most of the rolls in the basket had an area of what looked like was a thumb that pushed and squished the on roll. After we finished the rolls, we asked for another basket and the rolls were the same smashed in with a thumb print. I know these complaints are minor but they took away from our visit being a good one. On the positive side, our server who was many months along pregnant did an outstanding job of getting our order correct, responding to all requests and stopping by a couple of times to see if everything was okay. Three of us ordered salmon. It was great. I don't think I will go back to that location again due to the kitchen and the bar area. This stems from poor management of the restaurant. read more

I found a hair in my cinnamon apple when I dined here. I told the waitress that and she brought back the same bowl without the hair. It was the same because I poked one of the apple pieces with a fork and when she brought it back...that apple was still in there. I saw the holes!!! And there was a trail of the sauce going off the bowl so she must have just scraped off the hair. I didn't eat it. It was disgusting! I was at the Cotton Patch # 22 Mansfield. The manager is Lynn Anderson is an outstanding person doing an outstanding job managing the restaurant. We keep coming back there for that reason. We had a waiter Joshua Woods he was the best waiter I have ever had. He was on top of his game. I believe he needs to be recognized and rewarded for a job well done. He always was there making sure we had everything we needed. He was bringing things before we asked for them. This experience made our date so super special. To go order timeliness was awful today! Called at 3:44 to place 5 dishes, told 20 minutes, so I got there 4:25, they appeared busy packing food behind cashier, so I thought they were prepping mine, so I paid & watched them to find that my orders were sitting on counter, but both server & cashier were packing other orders & doing other stuff. Cashier was working sloowly. Finally received the 2bags at 4:38pm, nearly 1 hour after I ordered. If I had known that my orders were sitting on counter, I would've bagged them myself!!! We went to Cotton Patch on a Sunday after church. It was about 1 and the wait, as you would predict, was pretty long. I appreciate that they have a lot of seating for people waiting. We were seated and ordered. I have the smaller portion CFS with mashed potatoes and Mac and cheese. I LOVE that they offer smaller portions. It was the perfect size. The rolls are complimentary and were very good. The mashed potatoes have a lot of flavor. My husband had the grilled pork chops. It was a good portion and they were very flavorful. Ordered here tonight through Door Dash at 7:56pm - it said food should arrive by 8:32pm. Food did not arrive until 9:45pm. The driver kept in constant contact with me - at one point putting the cashier on the phone to tell me they were out of black eyed peas and had been since 5pm. Ma'am, you are calling me at 9:15pm about an order I placed around 8. Totally unacceptable. Once we go the food, all she orders were correct but the cake was not a slice - it was a bite. All 3 salads were made with brown lettuce. I love Cotton Patch and have ate here for years. But this is the final straw with Mansfield. I totally get places are short staffed with COVID and it may take longer, but customer service and quality cannot slack - period. read more

They literally didn't give me half of my food, none of my entrees had sides, the gravy cup you get for the chicken fried steak had barely any gravy. And on top of all that the food had NO FLAVOR! The food could be delicious. The staff is overwhelmed, the kitchen must be short staffed and management walks around chatting and not helping support their staff. The food could be great, but bread is always burnt or something is always dried out or over cooked. Great concept, poor execution. Last time we waited 38 minutes to PAY OUR BILL... never having another visit or drink, my entire family left and I had to stand at the front desk and a manager came and said "what table was it?" (After I'd explained that to 2 other people when asking for a check) and he spent 5 minutes and came back and after I told him about the horrible experience made me pay the entire check. Poor way of managing and he wasted so much od my time (3 kids meals + 2 adult entrees turned into a 130 minute meal- with no wait time to be seated). Got to the restaurant last Monday. A young waiter was standing at the door telling everyone that the dining area was closed. He said that only the to go area was open. He said the kitchen crashed and his manager told him to tell people that the dining area was closed. It was kinda odd. There were many dirty tables in the dining area. Walked out of the Colton Patch this evening. COVID precautions were not taken seriously at this establishment. The server who escorted us to our table was wearing his mask around his chin. Another server was delivering food without a mask around his mouth and nose. The kitchen staff were not wearing masks while preparing food. There were other employees in the food prep area walking around without masks. Cheers to the handful who were following COVID requirements. Jeers to the management who were not enforcing the rules established for restaurants during the pandemic. UPDATE- kudos to the manager for reaching out to me. I was notified that the staff received additional training on the protocols for wearing masks during this uncertain time. I was asked to come back and try again. I responded that I will in the coming weeks. Thanks to Jesse for listening graciously to the feedback and more importantly, acting upon it. Changed to 3 stars for acting on feedback. I don't know what the problem was here. Perhaps it's best to eat in than order food to go. The service was terrible! I ordered online and was given a pick up time. Not only was there a wait time after that, the order was not complete. Even after the extra wait, the food was sloppily prepared. For example, chicken fried steak without gravy, although a gravy choice was specified. Other examples, a dinner without the entree, a side item omitted and no dinner rolls. I'm finding other restaurants aren't living up to service expectations, but so far this has been the worst. read more

Tonight was the best dining experience I have had in over a year. The staff were very attentive and we were given the choice to eat outside which to me was so great as I am disabled and at risk when I am in public. Our waitperson was a lady named Hailey/Haley who was so precious right off. She really cared about the whole family and our wants and needs. The food was hot and delicious. Comfort food and nice selection of other dishes like blackened tilapia, my favorite. Good service. Tilapia comes with two large filets and is served over rice and pasta mix. Horrible service, worse food. Seated promptly but no server stopped at the table for 15 minutes to even take a drink order. During this time 3 tables seated before us got up and left. Servers kept walking by our table looking at us but never stopped. Finally, one did and took our drink and food order. Took a few minutes to get our drinks and bread, then another 15 minutes a different server came to tell me that they were out of baked potatoes, just as our food was delivered by another server. I asked for a salad instead of the baked potato and was told he would get it. Another item I ordered was sauteed mushrooms, what was delivered was disgusting- a congealed mess of mushroom parts and some kind of breading, looks like it was scrapped out of bottom of a container and heated up. After I finished eating the other items, the server finally showed back up and asked how everything was. I asked him to take away the mushrooms because of how they looked, he didn't even offer to replace them with something else. My wife then spoke up and told him I never got the salad to replace baked potato. Server apologized and said he would get it. Of course, 5 minutes later he had to come back and ask again what salad dressing I wanted, then brought the wrong one. Overall, bad experience. The lack of management, quality control and overall poor performance by kitchen and wait staff over the past few visits has put this restaurant on my "do not return" list, which is a shame because we used to really enjoy eating here. read more

I went the other night and got a chicken fried chicken. It was so good and the staff are so sweet. Genuine southern hospitality!!

I was doing a friend a favor and took his special needs 16 year-old son here to eat. He is bigger than me and he immediately pulled me behind the bar and turned on the sink. The staff was so considerate and sweet. We sat down at a booth and a nice, young man named Connor took care of us. I knew what we wanted to order and so he took it quickly. The food did take a little while but having had been in the service industry for years I know some things a restaurant and their employees cannot control. Connor was so amazing and even offered us a free dessert for the wait, but the last thing my dinner-buddy needed was sugar. Connor promptly ran the card and brought it back. OH!!! & the staff was all wearing a mask correctly. I know if I need to take this young man again somewhere, that I can go there. read more

Worst experience ever!!! I ordered Togo I got home fist thing no rolls!!! Second I ordered a Cesar salad and I got lettuce and egg only salad. Oh yeah and no Cesar dressing for the large Cesar salad. Went on Sunday after church, where we had been before with no problems. Not this time-waited 15 minutes for a waiter to show, and that was only because I had to ask for our waiter (and who walked by our table multiple times). We placed our food orders and drinks at the same time since we had the feeling it was going to take awhile from what we were seeing already. Took another ten minutes for our drinks to arrive, again only because I talked to another waiter since we hadn't seen ours. I had to once again go up and ask for sweeteners that we had originally requested. After 30-40 minutes, our food had not arrived. Other tables that arrived after us were served and finishing while we were still waiting. I had to request TWICE to see the manager, who finally came. I had to point out the fact of others being served and done, multiple empty tables, and our absentee server. Once I requested a new server, our order was brought out, drinks filled, and we were able to eat-after an hour. We were looking for a local restaurant that would do curbside during this stay-at-home-as-much-as-you-can period and chose Cotton Patch. We've dined in at several other CP locations while traveling, but didn't know how they'd do on a curbside -- would the chicken-fried steak still be hot and good when we got home? Happy to say that it was perfect. The person who took our order on the phone got it exactly right. She told me when it would be ready (and she was correct within 2 minutes).
