What a let down this meal was, the restaurant was completely empty, it was about 4:30 and they were taking us to a table right by the window with the sun shining in, I asked if they had a booth, and the old woman gave me an attitude. Finally seated a server brought bread but not plates, we asked for plates she came back took our order, brought drinks but still no plates, came and ask about my husband's order but no plates, she had a bunch of little bracelets with stuff hanging from them that went right into the food and the drinks, we still had hope, but no, I ordered pecan crusted flounder and it didn't taste like pecans, it was also burnt on the bottom , super dry mashed potatoes and days old Mac and cheese, oh and I was done with my food but not with my water, she came and took my plate and put the dirty silverware in my water , my husband had tea and she didn't even offer a refill. A good server makes for a good experience even when the food is blah, but a bad server makes you not want to come back. read more

If I could do less than one star I would. Waitress took our order and never came back. We waited for 30 minutes for our waitress to bring the ticket and she looked everywhere but at our table. Didnt even get half of our stuff. She looked like there was not a single thought behind her eyes. With as many people they had staffed you would think service would be more efficient, but instead they had 3 people in a group just serving drinks. When we brought the issue up with the manager, she gave us that condescending tone and you could tell she truly did not give a f*ck, extremely insincere and just wanted us to shut up. My experience tonight was alright. Came ge with n.y parents for dinner and we dont know if we'r will go back. We started with the Cadillac Queso. Was alright. First rinse I had it, it was a lot better. The chips were a little oily and undercooked. I ordered the nacogdoches burger. If we'r do go back, I don't think I will order this again. This was the second time i got this. Asked to have my burger cooked medium and it was cooked well done. So i give up on ordering this. I don't think there cooks know how to cook the red meat to the proper way people like there meat cooked. I did enjoy my sweet potato fries. Just about the only thing I liked that came to the table. The fried tomatoes here are to die for. Right Pops?* I always thought this place was a chicken place, haha. Expensive too, but we decided to try it since they had burgers. It wasn't that busy when my son and I went there, so we were seated pretty quickly. The hostess was nice enough to give us a nice booth to sit. The server was nice too. Edgar ordered these fried tomatoes for an appetizer, and they were delicious. They were crispy, tender, and really good with ranch. Since Edgar is starting to eat more healthy, he ordered a strawberry chicken salad. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger with fries. I really liked my burger. It had a lot of cheese, vegetables, and the bun was toasted. The meat was pretty big too. The fries were pretty good, nothing bad about it. Edgar like the salad, but he didn't love it. Went in the lake worth location today. I thought it was weird that the people was standing so close to our table watching us eat but once me and my kids (12-7) got home and all was sick to our stomach, it all made sense. The staff was mostly white and was doing that nice, nasty act most bothered yts do. My first mind told me to leave but after working all day my kids were hungry and I knew it was too late to take dinner out the freezer. I thought I was imagining it. I had a day off and haven't been here in about a year not cause I didn't like it the last time, just cause I forgot that existed to be honest. I sat at the bar and I'll definitely say the bartender/server was the best part of the visit. She was stellar! I think her name was Jennifer. Five stars and kudos to her. Friendly and attentive and just a genuine person. You can just tell. I had a craving for their chicken avocado sandwich. After ordering an afternoon beer....I waited and waited and waited and waited. I was there post lunch but pre dinner. And just can't fathom why it would take 20 mins for food to come out. If I was on a lunch break I would have had to leave cause it took so long. Two beers in and my food comes finally. The moment I've been waiting for cause my stomach is eating itself and I dig in to cold limp fries and a soggy broken degenerate bun. My moment of joy for savoring avocado and chicken is no where to be found. I know you're thinking well the condiment made the bun soggy... well I ordered it dry cause I hate mayo. I did order a side of mustard.... and I put that on the top bun. Overall I was super disappointed in the food. Hot FFs and a soggy bun could have been forgiven but to have cold FFs AND a soggy bun is just plain wrong. Jennifer and my beer were the only saving grace. This was by far the strangest, worst experience we have ever had a restaurant. There was a bit of a wait, so we sat at the bar top. Every question we had about any of the drinks the server couldn't answer, which was odd. The manager called our name and another party's name. We got there after the other party and the actual hostess had no idea where the manager planned on sitting us. Then we found out that the party ahead of us never had their name called. We got sat down, greeted pretty quickly, and ordered our drinks and an appetizer. We were told they didn't have any straws by our server when he gave us our drinks. We ordered, and waited. We overhead the manager talked to another table about how he was sorry about how the restaurant wasn't tidy and it was hard to find good help these days. Then we noticed our server take the drink order for another table and bring them straws. We tried to catch him but had to wait until he came back by. In the meantime, a hostess was cleaning a table near ours that had a ton of dirty dishes on it. The manager came by and told her not to clean it. She asked why and he told her that he was teaching the server in the section a lesson. what. She told him that she wasn't going to leave a dirty table for the guests to stare at (go girl!). Then our food came out. I asked our server about our mushrooms. He said, "I'm not going to lie, I completely forgot to put them in." Alright. Not the worst thing. No biggie. Then I asked him about the straws. He said, "I told you, we are out." I pointed out other people who had been sat after us had straws and that he himself carried straws to the other table across the room. He literally argued with me that he didn't. After he went to go and look if they had straws, he came back with some from the drink station. We tried our first bite of our food and it was Lukewarm at best. For something that is covered in gravy, that's pretty hard to do and means it had been sitting a while. When our server came back, I told him that our food was lukewarm. He ROLLED his eyes and said he was just going to get his manager. The manager came by and we explained everything that happened. He said he would pay for the meal and get a replacement dinner out immediately. He looked at the bill and said, "wow. That's a big bill." Uh We left. Without eating. We came about 7pm on a Saturday night, the restaurant was packed but we were seated immediately. Our service was fast and our waitress was very sweet and attentive. We ordered the Cheesy Bacon Fries as our appetizer and they were delicious. We had a $3 Margarita and Strawberry Frozen Lemonade (very bitter). My husband had the endless fried catfish platter for $11 and I had the Chicken and Dumpling for $8. The Chicken and Dumplings were average, my grandmothers are way better. The catfish was delicious. The mac and cheese was average, the mashed potatoes were nasty to me, the broccoli and cheese casserole was delicious. The Peach Cobbler for dessert was excellent. Definitely will return. read more

We order from here often because they offer different kinds of food which is great for a group (work). This place can get packed during lunch but service is usually efficient and friendly in spite of that. My go-to dish is usually the Cobb salad with grilled salmon but when I indulge, I go for the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and broccoli rice casserole. Yes, carbs on carbs! While I don't want to think about how many m I miles I would have to run to burn off the calories, the one bite I tasted was darn good! All of the "healthy" menu items were more than reasonable for the price point , fresh scratch cooking. One thing new, at least to me, this restaurant had a full bar located at the very front. Never seen one before at other locations . The staff and management seemed to work well together, quick, friendly and efficient. All in all. ..pretty good. For such a limited menu should not be serving steak this poorly cooked. The house salad was bland and the dressing was watered down and flavorless. Appetizer was cold. Limited sides -- I think only 3 -- are available as free companions with steaks. I've had the chicken fried steak here before and it was also dry but decent. I stopped there about 330 pm after a long day at the VA being poked and prodded for six hours. I had fasted so I could get my lab work done and was wanting a decent meal and to relax for a few minutes. I had been told they had meatloaf and I had had a craving for for a good meal. When I was seated I told the server I knew what I wanted and ordered and also asked for a dinner salad. My Coke and salad came promptly and as I was pouring the salad dressing on the salad my entree comes out. Less than two minutes between salad and my order. I was told it was because the meatloaf was cooked already. I asked the server to put my meal under the heat lamp or otherwise keep it warm while I ate my salad. He left with the plate and after about five minutes came back with the plate and asked if I was ready. Since I was still eating my salad it should have been obvious I wasn't ready but just told him to leave it. I asked him why he would bring my courses so close together and got no answer. I ate a bit more salad as my meal got cool and gave up on the salad and tried some tasteless mess they call meatloaf, no seasonings, and no flavor other than the 'tomato' gravy which tasted like a can of tomato soup poured over the meat and called gravy. I ate about half the meatloaf,two bites of mashed potatoes and one bite of broccoli something. And had time for half of my Coke. Paid my 15 dollar tab and even left a tip but I won't be back. The server did ask if I wanted a to go box and that was good for a laugh. There were no other customers in his section, I suppose he had better thing to do other than his job. read more

Weekend wait time was almost 15 minutes and table was next to ceiling water drip where they had a leak but other than that it was nice. Family enjoyed it ok. I got take-out last night. Jumbo deep fried mushrooms, chicken fried chicken, and a chicken sandwich with fries. Both the fried shrooms and fries were a soggy mess because they were put in foam containers. Either line the foam containers with paper or use paper bags. Paper bags are preferable because they soak up excess grease and absorb the heat. The dinner was good, the sides, not so much! read more

We started with the fried green tomatoes, which were fresh and super crunchy. We had fried shrimp, grilled seafood, burgers and chicken fried steak. All were freshly made and delicious. I had a horrible experience with this place. Someone contacted me to pass me on to someone else. Alas, that never happened. I sent in my personal information, my phone number and my email address and no one has contacted me back. Usually, I would blow such things off. I have driven past The Cotton Patch for about five years before finally going there with my friend, who is a regular customer there. Saturday night and got the Chicken Fried Chicken and it was excellent. Went back Monday night for the special and it was great. The waiter the first time was excellent, which made the meal even better. Nice parking area. Busy place. The outside is much lighter and more inviting than the inside. The pictures inside are very small, but interesting, if you could see them. The carpeting is not welcoming at all, in my opinion. A good redo would improve the place immensely, cheering it up a lot.
