My husband and I are SERIOUS about our steaks. If we do not cook our steaks at home we usually only eat our steaks out of town. I ordered a steak with a baked potato and I was really disappointed. The steak I ordered was cut against the grain where it was just disgusting. The meat felt like shredded felt rubbing on my tongue. It felt like I was eating at a food cart down town rather then a steak in one of the nicer restaurants in town. The service is great but the food is what keeps me away. read more

My kids really like coming here. Their servers/waitresses are very friendly and I have always been greeted with a smile when I walk through the doors. The country fried steak is good and the fried catfish is fantastic. My drink was never empty and the server was always checking up on us without being overly smothering. The only reason why I marked them -1 is because even after warning them that my daughter was allergic to certain ingredients she was still given an item that she was allergic too. However, they were more than willing to correct their mistakes. The cooks seem to take allergies seriously and they are very accommodating! This is just an overall great establishment! read more

Just had to walk out of the restaurant. While we were seated very quickly it was the wait staff that seemed non existent. Three other tables that were seated after us were seen by waiters/waitresses before we were. Therefore my advice, research the menu and be ready to tell the hostess you are ready to order. Just ate here after a long day road tripping with family. Really enjoyed the fried green tomatoes, chicken dumpling soup, husband loved the steak and it was very kid-friendly (thank goodness!). This may be a four star resturant for the Clovis area,but from somebody who is not from here,it's not amazing.Its better than Applebee's or Chili's because the food seems fresher.My broccoli was fresh not frozen so that was a plus.The Dr.Pepper cake was also very good read more

I can't believe they have customers at a place that serves such food. I went on Easter Sunday for the turkey dinner and when it arrived I thought they gave me a child's plate. Upset, I talked to the manager who looked at the small portion and said, "So what do you want me to do?" I answered, "If you have to ask, I don't think there's anything you can do." More importantly the food was dreadfully bad, not seasoned, and tasteless. I will not return as this was my 2nd out of 2 separate experiences for bland/tasteless food. read more

Im definitely a fan of the Chicken Fried Steak, AND the potato cheese soup is to die for! Im not even a big soup person but I could eat them both anytime, anyday. They also have a lunch special where you can mix and match 2 differant entrees and a drink for around 6 bucks. Ofcourse this comes with thier awesome rolls and cornbread free! Potato soup is on that list of entrees to choose from, and it goes great with a turkey melt! Also its great that they offer a half order of the chicken fried steak for about 7 bucks, and the full order is around 8.50 I think. I can eat the half order and still have left overs! Its phenominal! Service also is great, most of the time. Not once have I visited this place without the manager or owner stopping by my table to make sure Im happy with my food and their service. On the other hand, one thing I do have to add...a few years ago, I stopped in to see a few friends and didnt have time to eat so I just ordered a chocolet milk shake. I asked them if they could make it, since it wasnt on the menu. They said they could, it just may be a little thick. I said that was fine. The waiter came back about 20-25 minutes later with a styraphome cup with a lump of hard vanilla ice cream with milk poured on top of it. I tried stirring it up but it was frozen solid and had no chocolet in it at all. I tried to take a drink and got nothing but milk. After drinking all the milk I saw the lump of ice cream. I was baffled. I tried asking the waiter but he made a point of avoiding me after that. Seeing as this was my only bad expierience here, Im hoping it was just a bad employee (this could happen anywhere, really) So I would still have to give 4 out of 5 stars. I went here for lunch the other day and I was not impressed whatsoever. We walked in and there was no hostess or waitress to be seen. The bartender was sitting on her phone and did not give my friend or I the time of day, we asked her if we should seat ourselves and she told us the hostess would be out in a minute. Well, five minutes later the hostess walked out from the back...ON HER CELLPHONE! She waived at us to follow her and set us down in the back corner. We sat down to a sticky table, it was so bad I had to as the waitress ( who showed up ten minutes later) to wipe it down. When our drinks were brought to us (both of us having soda) there was no syrup in them. They were literally carbonated water. It was awful. Our food was sufficient but underseasoned and slightly cold. During our entire meal the staff was behind the seperation wall talking and laughing very loudly. The waitress showed up to bring our drinks, meal, and check. She did not check up on us one time to see how the meal was going. We sat for ten minutes before getting asked (with her mouth full of food) if we would like the check. Where was the manager?! I was absolutely appalled with the experience. This is our go-to restaurant. It has everything. My husband likes the fish and chips, and chicken fried steak. I love the hamburgers and the strawberry salad. Their steaks are good also. I haven't had a bad meal here so far. Great! read more

My wife and I have eaten here twice before and had good experiences both times. This third time though was totally different. My wife being 7 months pregnant ordered a burger and asked for it to be cooked well done to avoid any risk of under cooked meat. When she got her burger, she cut it in half and found it was still quite pink on the inside. She mentioned it to our waitress and she took it back to the kitchen, less then 10 minutes later the plate was returned to our table. Her plate was very hot and she saw that it was the exact plate of food that was sent back. The edges of the cut hamburger were browned, but the toppings were all also warm and soggy now. She then cut one of the halves in half and found the burger was STILL pink on the inside, leading us to believe the plate was maybe just thrown in a microwave. Seeing how a cook would take this "shortcut" to keep food moving rather then thinking of the health of the customer and remaking the order correctly, we will sadly no longer be dining here. read more

Terrible service tonight, actually no service tonight. I went in for dinner, it was a little early with 2 tables in the entire restaurant with customers at them. The rest of the restaurant was empty. When I walked in a woman was at the counter picking up a take out order. I stood waiting to be seated. A gentleman came in after me and stood at the counter also to pick up a take out order. Another girl came to take care of him and after she was done, she walked away as if was never there. By that time the girl taking care of the 1st woman at the counter finished with her and she also turned away as I were invisible. As I stood there waiting to be seated I saw at least 5 girls working. I even over heard one girl tell another I was standing there and they both just turned back around and I felt completely ignored. 5 girls and 2 tables, I would think someone would have enough customer service skills to at least acknowledge me. I guess I was expecting too much. Too bad. I hope the owners take note of the service some people get there. read more
