Probably the most under rated restaurant in Clovis. I did not realize this was a chain on my first visit, but was surprised with the food when it came out. Very tasty and the best place to get a salad in town. Prices are reasonable and they just updated the inside. Staff is friendly and the wait isn't too bad unless you go around lunch on Sunday. This place is still unacceptably dirty. I had a roach issue 2 years ago and spoke with someone from corporate. I was told that renavation were scheduled. Well Ive recently visited and had to walk out. Flies all over windows and table and chairs were sticky. Clovis, NM has a lot of chain restaurants. The Cotton Patch Cafe was first introduced to me in College Station, TX so I knew we couldn't go wrong by eating here after a long drive from Texas. My dad ordered their fish and chips and he said it was some of the best fried cod he'd ever had. I tried a bite and man! The fish is so lightly battered and the batter is extra crispy on the outside while the fish is nice and tender on the inside. The chicken tenders were also a hit and the complimentary rolls are to die for. They're served hot and fresh. Who doesn't like fresh bread?!?! In this little town of Clovis, NM I would definitely consider this one of their better chain restaurants. read more

Great restaurant, definitely one of the few that I enjoy in Clovis. I had the chicken fried chicken, which was deliciously moist and tender. My husband had the steak and his was just has he wanted. The bathrooms were clean and I was thoroughly happy with the waiter. He was a young, blond fellow that had a friendly smile and a very attentive attitude. I will be back to try other food items since this was my first time. My only complaint is that there were little in way of choices of sides but don't let that sway you, it was an enjoyable meal. read more

We had lunch at The Cotton Patch Cafe in January 2017 when visiting Clovis from VA. We loved it!!! The food was delicious, our waitress was wonderful. Prices were very reasonable and the portions were large. I wish we had been able to go a second time. Even though we are back in VA, I keep thinking about how good my burger and fries were. Tried it for the first time today and thought it was pretty good. Will definitely be coming back whenever I am back in town for work. Try their fried pickles...it was definitely tasty and way better than the ones from hooters. Had their fried catfish that was all you can eat as today's special. Monday night special was disappointing. Got off my diet to eat the best chicken fried in the area. Big mistake! Crust was okay, but tougher than nails CFS took a sharp steak knife to cut it! The longer I have lived in Clovis the more often I visit the Cotton Patch. The food is always tasty and the service is always very quick. I really like the BBQ chicken salad and the fried pickles, so if you are on a diet this is not the place to go. They have so many things on the menu that look awesome, but most are fried. Went there on Sunday for dinner . The food was yummy and the service was great. It was pretty busy but our waitress never kept us waiting too long. I ordered the CPC special 9 oz sirloin steak with a Caesar salad and steamed mixed vegetables. The dinner rolls provided were hot and delicious and were promptly served right after our order. The steak was a perfectly cooked medium and well seasoned. The mixed veggies were standard and the only negative was the Caesar salad, which in opinion had too much dressing in it. They just remodeled and I am not impressed. They probably didn't do the KITCHEN. The food still tastes like they use the same grease for catfish and chicken fried steaks. Don't get me started on the staff. This is not the first time. They get overwhelmed with 10 people there. Today after waiting for our meal for 30 minutes I asked. Apparently someone didn't get the order. I asked for the manager and got a we are really sorry BS but no action. We left and it will be the last time we will go there. We have been here several times and it has been fantastic every time. I had never heard of this place before we moved to Clovis, although I have heard it is a chain restaurant. The service and food have been fantastic every time. The waitresses have always been extremely nice and helpful. The food is always delicious and comes out very quickly. The only negative thing I can think of is that the hostesses don't hold the doors open for you. Generally at places like this they will open the doors for you. Most times I have been here they are just sitting on the side playing on their phones. I love this restaurant. I definitely recommend it. read more

Came for the first time just this week and loved it! This will probably be our go to for lunch & dinner. Went with toddler for an early dinner (4:30/5pm - normal for baby but early for non-kid folk) and the service was great. Very attentive, friendly and professional. A huge step up from many disappointing experiences in town and on par with (if not a cut above) casual dining experiences in other cities. Decor is attractive: a clean, almost modern type of country decor. I enjoyed the historic photos of Clovis on the walls. It's country but not cluttered. Definitely a family friendly place. They had booster seats and high chairs available. Plenty of booth seating which I prefer when eating out with squirmy little one. There's a separate kids menu offered with crayons to color. And I saw plenty of other young families eating here. Again, waitstaff was great, very kind and friendly with my toddler. Most importantly: food was delicious! The complimentary bread is very fluffy - big hit with kiddo. We also ordered Chips and queso. Chips were light and crispy, and not overly salty as they can be in other places. Queso was served warm alongside a separate cup of salsa. Husband enjoyed a cup of chicken and dumplings; and a burger (sorry I can't recall which one). I really liked the Strawberry Pecan Salad with Grilled Chicken. Difficult to find a good salad in this town. They thoughtfully served the dressing on the side and were generous with pecans and strawberries. Perfect amount of cheese as well without going overboard. Kiddo skipped the kids menu and ate off our plates. But they do offer standard fare (chicken strips, etc.). For dessert we ordered Peach cobbler with ice cream to go. It was fine but nothing to write home about. We'll try other desserts next time. Also love their sweet tea. Yummy sweet, but not tooth achingly so. The veteran servers treat you like family. The food is good and the atmosphere is great. Young and old love this resturaunt. Bathrooms are cleaned regularly and the dining room has aging decor, but is cleaned regularly. They make sure that the high chairs for my toddler are working properly. The main dining area can be pretty loud. I don't believe it's the customers being noisy, just the building accustics. I don't like being seated in the back dining area because the carpet smells. Made a quick stop for lunch as my husband and I were passing through this town. Everything we ordered came out great and pretty fast. We were very satisfied. You get large portions of food as well. One thing I must say is my husband ordered the vegetarian platter and two of his choices were black eyed peas and green beans. First of all let me say WOWZERS!!!!! Sooooo Good, wow the food was amazing. IT was busy but still such great service. I loved the environment and the set up. I was so impressed.I had the Strawberry grilled chicken salad, and it was so Delicious! I had a bite of my husbands Chicken Fried steak and I couldn't believe how yummy it was . From walking in the doors and being greeted I was just soo happy with the service the food and the whole experience altogether . I seen there manager out helping with tables and he came around to check on us, really nice guy. Me and my husband decided that this is going to be our new getaway when we want to eat out. Cant wait to go back!!!
