They stayed open while bathrooms were down & stinch was horrible ... Could not eat for it & they still charged for meals ..

My husband and I celebrated our 30th wedding Anniversary here. We happen to meet Vincent, one of the owners the night before at the July 4th celebration. He was gracious enough to find us a reservation for two the next day. We are sure this is difficult for this restaurant. We were staying at the Château Elan. This was the best meal we had this weekend. He recommended the Cajun Ribeye, Sea Bass, and bread pudding for dessert. The entire meal did not disappoint. The mushroom risotto was also delicious. The food was excellent. We also tried the sweet potato. We brought food home with us because the portions are large. We live in Milton and we will definitely make the trip back just for this restaurant. read more

This was my first time dining at the restaurant and the entire experience was world-class from start to finish both in terms of cuisine and service. Our server, Montine, provided exceptional customer service, had a great knowledge of the menu, and provided some excellent recommendations for menu combinations and enhancements to my steak. We enjoyed an appetizer, salads, and two different steaks and they were perfectly prepared. The menu and wine selection were very robust, and the restaurant was extremely well staffed. Came here with three other gals to celebrate a birthday. We made reservations for dinner on a Saturday. Parking was a breeze. The restaurant is a lot bigger than it looks. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Moody vibe. We looked at the menu before arriving (of course) so we already had an idea of what we wanted to order. We decided to share the following: Bourbon glazed thick cut bacon $15 Wild mushrooms $16 Blue point oysters Colossal lump crab cakes $48 8 oz filet mignon (medium) $52 Truffle potato fries $12 Brussel sprouts Everything was delicious. My favorites were the wild mushrooms, truffle potato fries and the crab cakes. The crab cakes were mostly crab meat with little breading, which is exactly how they should be! I give this restaurant a /5 Cotton Calf is a handsomely decorated steakhouse in Braselton, nestled between a brew pub, an outdoor park, and an antique shop. Parking is limited, and so is the menu, so be sure to arrive ahead of your (highly recommended) reservation to account for a short walk to the restaurant. You'll find yourself seated at the bar or in the newly renovated lounge area. The decor is sultry, with plenty of wood and leather details on the bar top, the seating, and even the menu. Plenty of unique light pieces adorn the walls and ceiling, lighting a few themed art pieces -- the huge white cow is a nice addition in the lounge. The seating is ample and well-distributed. Plenty of pillows and long sectionals can be found in the lounge as well. During my visit, I was served by a friendly gentleman with a great personality and a top-tier attitude. He was very attentive and made some special accommodations for my daughter. He made lots of recommendations for food and drinks, and we took his word for almost all of it. Boy am I glad we did. Dinner started with a charcuterie board (picture attached). Great selections of cheeses, cured meats, huge fruits, crackers, and accompaniments. I counted two spicy salamis, prosciutto, hard salami, as well as some various peppered meats. Olives, strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, and honey. A soft rinded cheese, a creamy soft cheese, and a hard aged cheese, as well as a great selection of crackers. We opted for a wagyu filet and a delmonico ribeye, plus a lobster tail for our daughter. Unfortunately, the kitchen ran out of both the lobster and the wagyu. The manager was extremely apologetic, and made some excellent substitutions for us. We opted for mashed potatoes and sautéed mushrooms for sides. The kitchen was having a slow night, so dinner took a bit to get to us, but it was well worth the wait. The seasonings on the steak were sublime, the shrimp were huge and perfectly cooked, and the sides were heavenly. They were very very loud and where dropping a lot of f-bombs very loudly and nobody seemed to mind or tell them anything which really ruined our anniversary date night. I was not impressed. First off we walked past overgrown flowering bushes buzzing with yellow jackets. Apparently one followed me in and stung me on the shoulder once seated. We ordered a Caesar salad. The kitchen is enclosed in glass. We were able to see the young man wipe our Caesar salad plate with a dish towel but also took the whole dish towel to pat down our Caesar salad and mold it into a mound. I doubt that there's a clean towel used for each salad. It was a turn off. Service became very slow as our server had a table of 6 walk in which took precedence over my husband and I. Our red wine had fruit flies buzzing about our glasses. My husband had the filet which was served on a white platter. It had no drizzle just served stark on the plate. I ordered the sea bass. I was served a crusty chunk of fish as if it was pan seared on the outside. It was very good and flaky inside. I expected the entire fish filet to be flaky. I much rather go to Bare Bones. read more

The ambiance is nice, service was really good. Servings are huge. My friend & I split everything & still had food to take home. We had the filet which was cooked perfectly. The sides (potatoes-similar to First Watch, Brussels sprouts - Longhorn's is better, & chopped salad- was chopped too much) were okay. The margaritas were really good but everything is expensive. Just a shot of grand mariner to add to the margarita was $15. Our bill with a total of 3 margaritas & one meal was $244. It was my friend's birthday and they gave her a piece of cheese cake for dessert that was delicious. Service is not bad but not exceptional either. We ordered several appetizers and all were extremely under seasoned. I typically don't like a lot of salt but I was desperately hoping there'd be even a pinch on the calamari, the beer cheese fondue, and the oysters rockefeller. There wasn't. We also ordered seafood which included crab, oysters, and shrimp. We were sat in front of the kitchen so we watched them take the crab out of a giant ziploc bag and put it into a bowl. The oysters weren't the best but not bad either. The colossal shrimp were very good though as were the cocktails and wine. Ambiance is meh. Overall not impressed. read more

The bacon is very thick and if you're into floppy bacon, you'll love it- but it's not my style. Ordered filet MW and received it butterflied and well done. Brussels sprouts were soft/overdone with little flavor. Oysters Rockefeller were some of the best I've ever had. Margarita was deceptively good as well. If I could give this spot a 3.75 I would. First Mr. Vincent Price was very graceful and understanding on the phone last week. Great management perspective. I revisited the establishment yesterday, 24 Aug 24 on my way back from an auto show, spur of the moment. Staff accommodated us at one of the high tables (to get a booth you have to reserve in advance and we knew that), so we were ecstatic that we could even get a seat. Our server Jessica was nothing short of exceptional. Her recommendations and taking of our order were on point. I am a frequent visitor to this restaurant because of the ambiance, food, hospitality, and most importantly, the quality of the meats and sides and the 5-star chef techniques. Bravo. GREAT place for steaks! The 12oz filet and 1 side is enough to provide a nice take home box. We had a party of 6, seated on time, the server was excellent, knew the menu n able to make good recommendations. The maple Old Fashion, was delicious, the 4 level seafood appetizer was really good choice. Everyone ordered 12oz filets, brussel sprouts, potatoes and a tomato salad. A word ( or warning): Jennifer told us the 'special' was a kobe ribeye. I thought ok, special occasion, I'll try it. Jennifer did not mention the price. The steaks on the menu were from $60 to $70+ as expected so I thought the special would be maybe $20-$25-$30 more. No. The Kobe ribeye was $190. That's not a typo. It wasn't $90 or $100. It was $100 AND $90. Out-freaking-rageous. It was very good; melt-in-your-mouth tender, etc. but $190?! And you don't mention that to me upfront?! Lesson learned. read more

My wife have come here twice the past two years, paired with an anniversary trip to chateau elan. The steak truly is incredible. The first year, I had fairly low expectations since Braselton isn't really know for great food, but I was absolutely blown away! We ordered a 30oz tomahawk and it was superbly cooked. Great sear but not too salty. Super tender without needing to swim in a pool of oil. Uniformly cooked, medium rare... really a perfect steak. The second time we had higher expectations and they were still exceeded! We ordered a 16oz delmonico ribeye to share with some mushrooms and creamed spinach. Again, everything was super good. They also serve fresh, hot bread and gourmet spreadable butter, so good! Service is great, very knowledgeable and attentive. Everyone greeted us with a Happy Anniversary and even brought us a dessert on the house. The only downside.... It is SO LOUD. Noise carries like a school cafeteria. The two times we went, there were corporate groups having a really fun time, and it was so loud that I could barely hear my wife talking right next to me. Loved the elegant table settings with white table cloths, candles, and chic cow hides placed in just the right places. Very tastefully decorated. 2 sit up bars, a main dining area and also a back room for parties of 30! What?? There is also a beautiful outside dining patio area with heat lamps or umbrellas during the day. , Plenty of room but reservations are recommended. Loved our view of the genius chef and his sous chefs cooking and plating the most delicious looking appetizers, salads, crazy looking delicious steaks, seafood and so many other side dishes which looked delicious. Their signature large shrimp cocktails were flying out of the kitchen! Really everything looked great! It was our first time and we didn't feel like a big dinner so we had their Poke appetizer (great!), Brussel Sprouts in a Parmesan/cream sauce (divine), and we both had two of their delicious soups!! (Lobster Bisque and Cauliflower Soup!) So delicious! We also enjoyed their great Caesar Salad with whole anchovies on the side! Everything was delicious, fresh and full of flavor! Wow what a great place! I have always heard others talking about how great this restaurant is, but for some reason had remained skeptical. That skepticism is now gone! The room and setting is gorgeous and very clean. The service was amazing and on point. The food was also impeccable. My husband and I ordered a total of 4 drinks, an appetizer, two filet mignons, sautéed mushrooms for both, a side of asparagus and a side of mashed potatoes and the total was around $260+ before tip. So while being expensive, the food and service and environment were on par. I definitely recommend this restaurant, especially for anyone celebrating special occasions. My first visit to this restaurant was a very pleasant one. Their cocktail shrimp are AMAZING! And a great deal too. I recommend having them with the mustard aioli and cocktail sauce together. I also tried their Tuna Poke appetizer, which was delicious. I ordered the delmonico ribeye. It was alright. I'll likely go with a filet next time. I tried my sister's pork chop, and that was really tasty! It came with onion rings and they were . I wish they'd have onion rings as a side option. I highly recommend the mushroom risotto as a side. And the bread pudding dessert was so juicy and sweet and the ice cream was the perfect topping. The service was great too. Very friendly waiters. Ambiance is fun, family friendly, not very quiet, but a positive vibe. I will definitely be returning! It was our anniversary and I was looking for something little different. I had been hearing good things about the Cotton Calf Kitchen. Made reservations ended up with a 5 o'clock reservation evidently this place is pretty popular. Ambience- nothing special the table we were seated at was in the middle of the floor with lots of server traffic. The table was unstable. I had to keep my foot on the table so we could cut our steaks without spilling our drinks There were other tables we could've been seated at. Our server was great. The service was great. My old fashion was nice and my wife's Irish coffee was nice, very much overpriced, but we knew that going in. I had the Delmonica ribeye I should've been able to eat that entire steak. There were chewy pieces I had to discard and what little bit of steak I had left over. I didn't even bother to bring home did I mention that was a $68 piece of meat?. my wife had the fillet to get it cooked medium. They basically had to burn the outside of the steak. That's all she could taste. Did I mention that was a $58 piece of meat. They did bring us out a nice piece of cheesecake on the house that was yummy, but we came here for the steak. In one word... Underwhelmed. It won't be a redo for us. read more

We decided to give this place another chance after six months. Our experience was MUCH BETTER this time. We were seated in the lounge which was quieter than the main area. The service was excellent both times which we appreciate. The food was much better this time around, which tells me the first time was just a fluke. Although, I would expect consistency for the prices here. I had a couple of cocktails, and my fiancé had a couple of beers. If you want your beer cold, you have to ask for a chilled glass. We ordered a dozen raw oysters. Blue points that come in half a dozen per order. Delicious but they were kind of butchered when shucking. The colossal shrimp was perfect. Hard to mess that up. Our Delmonico ribeye was definitely more tender this time around. The risotto could've been cooked a little longer, but still delicious. Overall, it was a much better experience. Our tab came out to $250. After tip, $300. Still not sure if it's worth the price, but we will definitely be back at some point. read more

Our food was good and tasty. Except for the, "lump crab cake". Wasn't filled with lumps of crab meat. Soft and somewhat mushy. A little dismayed we couldn't add, "enhancements to our dishes. (Like, Slices of jalapeños to the Oyster Rockefeller , or slices of Heirloom tomatoes. Even though you can have a cocktail with fresh jalapeños, and an Heirloom salad). Delicious! Didn't take any photos because I ate it all! Lol. I had dinner here with some friends a little while ago. I arrived early and was seated at one of the counter tables near the entrance. I ordered the hummingbird off their drink menu while I waited. It's been a while since I had a drink so I thought it was pretty strong. I ordered the cotton calf dried age steak and roasted brussel sprouts. They were both amazing! The steak basically melts in your mouth! And the brussel sprout was so good I almost didn't want to share it with the rest of the table . Will definitely dine here again. read more
