Got two pizzas and they were top notch. Been looking for an alternative place to get good pizza - I now have one. I'll return.

The pizza is great, the prices are good, the service is fast, the vegan options are excellent. What more can you ask for?

The boneless chicken had the texture of microwaved concrete and the pizza was Meh! For $34 and tip for one pizza it is a horrible value.

We went to Toscana (somewhat hesitantly) on Tuesday during happy hour to see our friend, Phil…read moreDenny, perform. As always, he was excellent, and I highly recommend his music. Unfortunately, our dining experience was disappointing. We weren't allowed to order from the regular happy hour menu and were limited to a much more expensive fixed menu. The calamari was good, but the featured Jazzleberry cocktail tasted weak and watered down. The prosciutto and melon appetizer was served with a large piece of half-burnt toast, the melon was hard and underripe, and the prosciutto was dry and sliced so thick it was difficult to cut or eat. I asked only for a replacement piece of toast, but our server brought an entire basket of focaccia instead. Since we hadn't ordered it, we assumed it was a courtesy replacement. We were surprised to find an $8 charge for the bread on our bill. This was at least our third disappointing experience. Toscana has a lovely atmosphere and wonderful live music, but the food quality and service have consistently fallen short. I truly hope they can improve because I'd like to enjoy dining here as much as I enjoy the entertainment.

Was in Lansing visiting a friend and we decided to have dinner at Toscana…read more The restaurant itself is really nice, but they sat us at a slightly awkward table. There were only four of us, but we ended up at what felt like a six-person booth/table setup. It made it a little tricky to talk with everyone, but we survived. Now listen... the bread. Oh, the bread. I have been dreaming about this bread ever since I had it. And I mean that literally, I was dreaming about the bread while I was actively eating it. It was THAT good. My pasta was delicious and had a nice kick to it. I knew it was supposed to be spicy, but even after reading the reviews I was still a little surprised by the heat. Thankfully, it was the good kind of spicy where you keep going back for another bite. Overall, a really nice spot with some seriously memorable bread.

Everything seemed right: location, reputation, aromas, price and food presentation but…read moreunfortunately Spagnuolo's fell short on taste and texture. We opted for the margarita pizza, pasta carbonara, and chicken parmesan. Our entrees each came with a piece of focaccia and a side salad. (Super great value but I guess in this instance, you get what you pay for) The salad was fresh and the bread was fluffy and warm. The margarita pizza is served with tomato sauce, cheddar cheese, and a sprinkle of basil; certainly not the margarita pizza neither of us or our tastebuds are accustomed. The chicken parmesan was beautiful when brought to the table. However, disappointment set in after the first few bites. The chicken was not breaded in the least nor was it seemingly seasoned. After doctoring with black pepper, red pepper flakes, and extra parmesan it was tolerable as the tomato sauce had decent flavor. The carbonara would have been better with half of the pasta or twice the sauce, it just was uneventful. Our beverages were decent and also fairly priced. The service was also a highlight of the experience. The team members we encountered were friendly although I'm not sure I trust their judgement on which dishes to select. The restaurant itself was a casual setting with scattered diners throughout. There were some regulars, which was evident through interactions with team members, and a mixture of young and mature families. We really wanted to love Spagnuolo's as it is close to our new home and when you're in the mood for saucy pasta goodness or having a shove pizza in my face moment, you don't want to have to go far. It seems our search will continue.

Well, first things first, I found out from the waitress. The restaurant was closing in two weeks…read more And now I know why: Service was very slow. I think it took at least 15 minutes to get our drinks ordered and of course the food order after that took probably close to 20 minutes. What I find surprising is that ordering an appetizer and salads took a long time to get. Aren't those easy things? I guess I resented ordering breadsticks when the meal came with foccia bread anyway so now we were stuck with all this bread on our table. I had the chicken Parmesan and it was covered with so much cheese! I couldn't tell if there was any chicken on the plate. The side of pasta was not more than a cup serving and the sauce unremarkable. The waitress was also the bartender which made service extra slow. Place decent and dated but nothing to write home about. I'm glad I can't go back!

When we go out to restaurants we tyically hand over a list of allergies my youngest son has, it is just easier for the server to take. Gluten, Eggs, Peanuts, Tree Nuts, Soy Protein, Shell Fish. The server read it and took it back. My son ordered the steak and wanted mashed potatoes. Server came back and said he could not have them and recommended veggies. I ordered the Fra Diavolo which was spicy and good. My son's steak was decent but wished he could have had the mashed potatoes. We asked if he can have the sweet potatoes and she went to the manager and she came back and verified if he can have dairy. We verfied and indicated that he could have dairy. They made the sweet potatoes for him but I didn't think any dairy was in it or other allergens. As lunch was winding down we looked into dessert and asked about the vanilla ice cream (to see if he can have it as sometimes it has eggs in it). She came back and asked if he could have dairy (at this point, I answered and said, we gave you a list and it doesn't list dairy so yes he can). I was getting upset. So he was able to have ice cream. Overall, for a big party, I thought the service was not great. Then when we received the check, she listed dairy as an allergen which we never indicated he had. I'm 100% sure he could have had more options to eat. The server was told twice that he was not allergic to dairy (I get being precautious is a good thing but apologize for the mistake). I could have spoken to the manager but decided not - which I now regret. I would not go back to this place.

The pizza took a little longer than expected, but they do let you know upfront that there may be a wait, which I appreciated. The flavor was good overall, and the ingredients seemed fresh. For my taste, there was a little too much sauce, which made the pizza a bit heavy. That said, it was still decent and worth trying if you're in the area and craving pizza. Not bad, but not a standout for me either.

This was discovered after waiting ~40 minutes and the other nine receiving their food (and asking, once, if ours was on its way). The pizza wasn't great (we ordered the House Special). Having to sit there, hungry, watching everyone else eat sucked (especially after having been told it was coming). I give them four stars because they gave us our meal free. In my opinion, that's what they _should_ do. Without hesitation. In fact, this is the least they should do: and they did it. For that, I can look past this mistake and give them another try. Not everyone gives good customer service these days (hello Little Caesars on Old U.S. 27 for a six-dollar pizza that was not as promised...). THAT is why I appreciate Relli's.
