Costco is costco i like there turkey bacon and chicken wings. You cant find a value like his anywhere. I think that the free samples could be a little bit more polite read more

Nice store but too much of a schlep for me. The one great thing about this store is they sell liquor unlike many of the other Costcos. Otherwise this Costco is much like the others in the DC area. Parking is okay but getting out of the parking takes you through a long route out. While this sounds like a negative review, it really is not. I like this store much better than the Pentagon City Costco but I am not sure I want to make the drive for this quiet Costco. read more

Costco has done it again! They've listened to the customers and have fixed the cell signal issues! (At least with Verizon phones). How can you not love this place?! read more

So happy to have Costco in DC! Now I can get good liquors at a reasonable price. Yay, I don't have to go to the awful neighborhood liquor store anymore. Now all the the sales tax I pay go to my city's coffers. read more

This Costco was GREAT! I've been to many Costcos before and this one was very organized and smooth sail. All the sale signs and items were stocked up well. This would be one stop shop because they have alcoholic beverage, gas station, and everything else. Parking is huge and not very crowded at all. read more

Great Costco! If you come on the weekend come with a big smile and plenty of patience when getting in & out of the facility. :-)

Friendly staff, yummy food, and parking. What more could you want?

I returned to Market Street Costco with my vehicle that had a tire with slow leak after getting it plugged three days prior. Instead of them calling me to tell me the tire has to be replaced, I walk up to find the tire sitting on the side and everyone back there (4 men) standing around one car. When I asked how much for all 4 tires, the rep didn't look in the system, he pulled out a calculator which made me feel that he was not trying to find the best deal. So I told him to put air in the tire and put it back on my car. When I get outside to pick up my vehicle, I'm was given the run-around as to where to find the person holding my key. This is after having to ask if this is the point where I go outside to get my car. I have food in hand and it's snowing fast and hard walking back and forth trying to find the guy with my key. The absolute worst experience! Never will return there for service to my vehicles. read more

Costco Tire Center: If I could give this place half a star rating I would. I tend to give places chance after chance and this place is one of those where they continue to let me down. Whether it's standing around or chitchatting amongst the lot crew and not being professional. I'll drive to the Pentagon Costco if need be, to have professional service provided. I seem to not be able to get someone knowledgeable or if they are it's like I'm a bother to them. I guess I could try a weekend of coming in. Maybe it will be a different crew but, during the week I would avoid going there after work from 430-8 if all possible. Too bad my job is a day shift job so the only opening time I have is coming in after my shift. I wish this place would get the boys in the shops act together! read more

Great location close to every things , u can find all alcohol , and every thing u need or u want for ur house . Highly recommended

I went to this Costco because the one near my home didn't have the Michelin tires for my car in stock and they told me the DC Costco had them. I arrived as soon as they opened on Sunday morning and was served right away. I told the staff that I'd be waiting for my car and they indicated they would call my cell when my car was ready in about an hour. I shopped and was pleasantly surprised to see they had alcohol that I could buy on a Sunday, so I'm thinking this might be my new favorite Costco. After shopping and having waited about an hour and 15 minutes I went to the tire service center to check on my car. It was ready but they never called me. I get my car and leave only to see that the low tire pressure light is on, but I think it will probably go off after I drive it a while, but that didn't happen. That means I have to go back, but it's not convenient to my home so I go to my neighborhood Costco. They check air pressure, add some air and reset the tire pressure monitoring system. I leave and the light goes out only to come back on shortly thereafter. It's late so I decide I'll go back the next day. Next day, I go back to my neighborhood Costco and they check some things and say it may be my tire pressure management system, but they'll check further and let me know. They take off one of my tires that continues to show a low tire pressure reading and find that the tire pressure monitor is broken and is loose inside the tire. They fix it and tell me that the tire pressure monitor had to have broken when my tires were put on at the DC Costco and that they had to have known it. They call the DC Costco and reported it, and the manager agreed that they would reimburse me the cost $67 for the new tire pressure monitor but I'd have to go to the DC Costco to get the refund. This means that one trip for tires turned into to 4 trips and a big headache. I think I'll stick to my neighborhood Costco alcohol or no alcohol. read more

Okay, this Costco is clearly growing in popularity. The time it now takes customers to get out of the parking lot and on their way home should be embarrassing to the developers and managers of this Costco. On a weekend, during the first of the month, or during a busy holiday, it can take nearly 30 minutes (or even more) just to get from your parking space to the entrance/exit to head back to South Dakota Avenue/Route 50. Additionally, the presence of workers or police personnel "directing" traffic seems to be of absolutely zero benefit; and the way the store blocks off large portions of the parking lot is equally frustrating, as it makes it even more difficult to navigate the parking lot. My feelings about the shopping experience, product quality, interior of the store, and the gas prices remain the same; but the poor traffic management has brought my rating down an entire star. If you plan to visit this Costco during any of the aforementioned situations, add on at least an additional 30 minutes for getting out of the parking lot. It's a real hassle. read more

Best COSTCO I have ever been to!!! I have been a COSTCO member for over 25 years in different areas of the country and this COSTCO is the most friendly, most helpful one I have ever been in. I bought furniture and transported it myself and everyone was more than helpful. Kudos to the Manager and staff!!! read more

The tire service is amazing here. I have 3 positive interactions with the team at the tire shop, and I'm just so impressed. Had to post.

This is the new costco in DC and it's awesome! The only drawback is the traffic/parking situation which is terrible on the weekend and going to get worse when they open up the Lowes in that same subdivision. But this place is new, clean and the staff is super friendly. Great deals too! read more

I was getting fuel at Costco and the Gas station worker pointed out my tire was low... So I proceeded to the Tire Center and was YELLED at by a White shirt Gentlemen with an Accent...Then I was helped by this Gentlemen by the name of Kevin.. While he was inspecting my tires I notice I seen this guy before... When I asked him have he ever work at the Merchants Tire in VA? He looked me in the face and smiled and he stated YES.. Let me tell you. This Guy is a hidden GEM and I'm not sure if they are aware(Costco) of the Benefits and leadership he brings to the table... My Wife and I work in VA and we would leave our vehicles at Merchants Tire to be repaired. The store could not keep technicians because of poor Management.. And The Heavens heard our(Customers)Cries.. Mr.Kevin was transferred to our location in VA and he turned that shop around... So I asked Mr. Kevin how long has he been The Manager at Costco and his response blew my mind when he told me he is just a Tire Tech and is not part of Management... I'm not sure who I need to get in contact with to speak to about this Hidden Gem... This Guy knows about safety and taking care of Customers... Just go in and ask for Kevin the old Manager at Merchants Tire and you will be blown away as well.... The Wife and I has recommended Mr.Kevin to all of our Friends and Coworkers.. Now days you can reach Millions by a click of a button... Just Type in Merchants Tire Duke St..Alexandria Va on Yelp and you will see for yourself... Sad that Costco only do Tires and not Brakes and Oil Changes but I understand.. Please Visit Costco at Market Place and request this guy(Mr.Kevin) to over see your Vehicle being service and you will feel safe.. As you can see I was YELLED at in the very beginning and Mr. Kevin smoothed everything out... read more

The tire service is terrible. I was promised a 45 minute wait which became close to 3 hours with no updates unless I went over and asked. Initially I was excited about the convenience but I would not recommend it, or maybe if you must, go first thing in the morning. Judging from the other reviews of the tire service, I am not alone. read more

The tire center here has horrible customer service. I called to see if I could come in earlier than my 6:15 pm appointment and was told to come in at 5pm. I was told my car was next in line to have the tires changed. At 6:15pm I stopped by to pick up my car and saw it being brought into the shop with the old tires. I was told it was first come first serve and my tire change was a 6:15 pm appointment so that's when it was slated to be serviced. I ended up wasting an 1.5 hours at Costco and am waiting now for my tire change. It's 6:30pm. The manager was unapologetic and argued with me when I told him this was unacceptable. read more

We flew to DC to visit our daughter. Stopped at COSTCO on the way home for a few things. Were in the store about 35 minutes. Came out and the car window had been broken and all of our bags had been stolen. Both the DC police and the insurance adjuster for COSTCO told me that the parking lot for this store is being targeted by a gang that breaks into cars. They also prey on women who buy gas at this store, stealing their purses. As far as I can tell, COSTCO is doing nothing to make their parking lot safe. They know of the problem, but are ignoring it. My advice is to stay away from this store. read more

This Costco is awesome! Lots of high-end products including designer bags, Le Creuset pots, Jura Coffee makers, liquor and plenty of parking! Would give it five stars, but it closes earlier than other Costcos in the area and a few staff members were slightly rude. read more

I find for the most part that most Costco's are pretty similar and the layouts are familiar. They always have long lines and it's not something I look forward to when shopping for a couple items. The price savings are not worth the lines and craze. I made the long trek (30 mins out of my way) to check this one out. Why you ask?? Liquor!! Now I know my liquor and my brain is like an abacus when it comes to liquor prices. The selection is good not great but the prices are excellent. Pretty much the cheapest anywhere. They had some hard to find products. Macallan 25, reflexion and even Macallan M for a thousand dollars less than everywhere else. Louis XIII at $2599. The price on the Suntory Hibiki was $59!! Bookers at $49 is $10-$25 less than elsewhere and they had an impossible to find Kavalan Whisky at below market! So I was delirious to the point that the long line wasn't a bother. I guess it's good I live an hour from here otherwise this would be my go to. read more

I think Costco is trying to subconsciously suggest that everyone who shops there should buy massive amounts of alcohol. As if the entire huge liquor section isn't enough, there are cases of wine and other spirits stocked casually in the most random places throughout the store; in the cereal aisle, the detergent aisle, the condiment aisle. . . maybe a suggestion that we should liven up our mundane household chores by doing them while hammered? One step a head of you, Costco! That being said, I really like this store and am happy to have one close to home that isn't a total clusterf*** like the Pentagon City location. The staff is very nice and helpful, and prices on some things are considerably less than those at Sam's or BJ's. Also, the quality of some of the food items seems a bit higher than you would normally see in a warehouse store. The only negative thing I can say is that they don't accept all forms of payment- either cash or Visa/AmEx credit cards- no Mastercard or debit. read more

Store is great. Have had no issues. My qualms are with the pharmacy First time using this pharmacy. Dropped of my RX and gave them my primary AND seconday insurance and ask for automatic refill on the 1 refill I have on the RX.  When i came to pick it up the cost was 80$ more than usual. Gave them my secondary insurance again and it was all good, cost back to normal. Figured whoever did my initial intake forgot to add it on. No problem. Then they Did not automatically refill prescription, i had to call and ask them to refill which is fine. But they are out of the medicine, it should be in stock the next day at 3pm.  Ok I can wait a day. Get a phone call next day at 6pm saying they ordered the brand name not the generic, and they ask if I want to just use thr brand name. No way, ots super expensive like upwards of 300$. So she asks if i can wait 3 more days so they can order generic. No I can't wait, i am out of my medicine in 2 days (but technically this should have been automatically refilled about 15 days ago). Says she is going to look up some coupons and call me back. Thats a nice gesture but 5$ off 300$ is probably not going to help much.  Hour goes by, no call. I understand it's probably busy so I call them to follow up. Puts me on hold for 15 min. New person answers the phone and says "yeah we have it." ??????? Was literally speechless and tried to explain the whole issue to her again (maybe she thought I was someone else?) and she cuts me off and says "yeah it came in a little late but we have it". So it came in the last hour? I confirm it is THE GENERIC not the brand name, they say it is. Ok then. Going to pick it up tomorrow. Come to pick up my refill and AGAIN the cost is 80$ more than what its supposed to be. I have given this secondary insurance to them 3 times now. They run it, pharmacist calls the insurance and then tells me secondary insurance is cancelled. That's weird since I've received no notification about cancellation or changes to my plan. I call the insurance company myself and they said my policy is not cancelled, it is active. So when i tell the pharmacist this, he decides to explain further that his issue is with not being able to run it as a "secondary insurance", he can only run it as a "primary insurance" in the system. Insurance company has confirmed his problem and says I have to pay the 80$+ until they can figure out what the problem is. Since it is an insurance issue i just ask if I can half of the meds (which is not half of the cost, mind you). Now I am not blaming insurance issues on the pharmacy... I understand pharmacists are the middle men a lot for insurance companies and I don't want to blame them for that. BUT I have literally never had this problem in the year that I've had this secondary insurance (including at this Costco pharmacy literally a couple month ago). I have had no changes to my insurance either. In fact I took my new RX  and secondary insurance to a different pharmacy same day and they had no issues. I just got the impression the staff didn't care. I got the run around, no one wanted to explain things to me, etc. But to be honest it is Costco... what else can you expect from a mega corporation? Thank goodness I have medical experience and have worked  with insurance companies and pharmacies alike. Honestly i think about other people who might be experiencing this same situation but arent able to advocate for themselves (like i can) and it truly terrifies me. read more

I went here just to buy liquor and the prices were awesome!!! They now sell liquor on Sunday as well. The tax rate is 10% but the low prices make the high taxes worth it. They will check your ID at the register so don't forget it. The vodka selection was very extensive probably more than any other Costco I have ever been in. The Costco employee working in the liquor section was VERY helpful and friendly. Some prices: Kirkland Rum; 1.75 $14.99; Chivas Regal Gift Tin 750ml $21.99; Jameson 1.75 $36.89; Bacardi Rum 1.75 $18.79. Overall it was well worth the trip. Happy shopping!!! read more

I read countless places across the Internet that DC residents can buy liquor at Costco without a membership. I was abruptly turned away at the door and asked to speak to a supervisor who was rude. I can assure you that I was calm and kind, just information seeking. Nobody was apologetic that I was given misinformation or even tried to get me to sign up for a membership so that I could purchase the liquor. They wanted me out of the store immediately. I then called Costco main customer service and was treated like a second class citizen. I tried to call the store and along the way it was apparent that nobody takes customer service seriously. I can afford the membership and had I been treated like a human I would have signed up. Never going to happen now! read more

This review is not for my local Costco, those folks are great and the facility is convenient. It is overall customer service Costco for online/email/telephone. OMG I've been trying for 2 days to get my account squared away so that I can register online and somehow my email is incorrect in their system...called the automated system, left my number for a call back at 2:30 today-guess what? No call, so called back and have been on hold 20 minutes. Have we reverted back to 1990's and no one told me? Costco, you better catch up or I'm shifting all my bulk shopping to Amazon Prime, just saying. Customer experience is the name of the game. Next thing you know, Costco and Sam's Club will go the way of the department store and that will be a real shame. read more

The shopping experience was wonderful but the management and cashiers was rude and inconsiderate on a Sunday afternoon after church at that . It's bad to make fun of your customers it may have not been so rude or inconsiderate if the laughter was not so loud that the entire store could hear and made aware of there bad on the job behavior and the sad part is that family just came to shop and go home. I'm very unhappy and it made me uncomfortable checking out at the register I not sure if I will go back. read more

Good selection and liquor = two stars. All Costcos are clusterfs, but this one takes the cake. Do not come here on a Saturday.

Tried this location because of the comments re their liquor inventory and prices: Because I'm unfamiliar w/ wine prices in this area, can't comment on these prices. But where you can definitely save is the double-sized bottles of their own vodka (Kirkland; recommended for mixed drinks), and probably other liquors of 2x volume (saw lots of these bottles in the checkout lines). (But don't forget about the DC 10% sales tax) Recommend shopping before noon on the weekend to avoid the really-heavy flow, but the lines move quickly. I also noticed that at the gas pumps, there is a sign re "lock your vehicle while pumping" - just a precaution about the neighborhood/clientele, yikes. read more

Very difficult to find parking on the weekends, it is so bad that they have three or more Washington DC Police officers helping to direct traffic. The beer, wine and liquor prices are much lower than anywhere in reasonable driving distance. read more

Of all the Costcos I've visited in the US (I've also been to the ones in Taipei and Seoul), this one is pretty middling. It's not always crazy like the Pentagon City one, so that's a plus. And if you're not looking for liquor, etc., going Sunday morning is the best time because it's not as crazy since liquor sales are closed then. The selections are great and check-out is quick. But unlike in San Diego, they don't bag anything for you (it's a rare thing to find in a Costco, but SD's is way up there in terms of service) or get you boxes, etc., but like I said, they're pretty efficient. Today, I had my first really disappointing experience. I had just been there a couple of weeks ago to get my eyes checked so just had to pick up my contacts, for once, only wanted to pick up one item (bulk chicken breasts), so was trying to be in and out while my husband was home with my napping daughter. The lines were pretty long but not unbearable, but then when I got to the register, it turned out the chicken had no bar code on it. No idea how they missed it. And instead of running back quickly to get another one for me, they informed me that I could go myself, without even an offer to let me back without having to get back in line. I understand I only had one item and that they really pride themselves on getting people in and out of line, but I must say that it was pretty disappointing. First time I would say I received sub-par service. It wasn't worth it to me to stand in line again, so I just left. Not enough to make me boycott this Costco, but if the Wheaton location were as close, I would be going there. Of the locations in the DC metro area, the Wheaton location is the least hectic and gives the most pleasant experience out of them all. Plus, you can run to Wegman's for any grocery items that you don't need in bulk and to grab lunch or dinner. Sometimes that makes it worth the trip. read more
