I love this Costco because the staff are so great! The store is clean, well maintained, and abundantly stocked. Having ready access to Costco priced wine, beer, and liquor doesn't hurt either! There are so many reasons to love Costco. The free samples, the aisles of booze, and most importantly their commitment to paying a living wage to their employees. This location also sells gas, which is awesome. It's the only store I know that I have gone into and bought guacamole and pants from and that's it. It's kind of like heaven. read more

Please support this Costco and help encourage them to become more cyclist-friendly! From the day it opened I've been continually impressed with the friendly employees here. Today's visit exceeded my expectations. I arrived by bicycle with kid trailer (& kid) in tow, hoping they'd let me use my wheels as my shopping cart. I live less than 2 miles away, and it was a balmy day for November. I thought, of any store that might let me take a bicycle + trailer inside, surely a giant warehouse in the early afternoon on a weekday, right? The aisles are generously wide at this particular location, and it's hardly ever crowded. But sure enough, the greeter informed me they have a no-bikes policy, so I respectfully asked whether any bike racks were available. There aren't (I knew this), so I asked where she suggested I park the bike. She double checked the bike policy with a coworker and since they had no idea what to do with me, they called for a manager. I stood aside to wait, letting several customers pass through the entrance. Finally the manager arrived and I explained my situation and asked what my options might be. She said there's only one employee who rides his bike to work and she doesn't even know where he parks it since there are no bike racks. "I don't see why it would be a problem [to take the bike inside]," she concluded, kindly giving us leave to do our shopping with the bike & trailer. I thanked the manager and the greeter and proceeded to do my shopping. Throughout the entire shopping trip, I never got any attitude from employees, and although I certainly drew a lot of attention from fellow customers, it was all positive attention toward the kid in the trailer enjoying the ride while "helping" hold the groceries. (One customer spotted us in the store and remarked with a smile, "So they let you in after all," seeming to agree that it was only fair.) My only regret is that I didn't take note of the name of the manager to submit positive feedback, but I plan to try and find it out so I can do so on my next visit. I want to GREATLY encourage this kind of respectful customer-oriented service at a giant chain that caters mostly to our supersize, car-centric culture. It made me so happy that they were level-headed enough to reason with me and make an exception to Policy. I hope others who live within a reasonable radius will also attempt biking to this Costco. Perhaps eventually a bike rack can be installed. Meanwhile, allowing midday shopping by bike trailer should be a perfectly acceptable policy on the books! read more

I never considered myself to be a "Costco person". Sure, I'd been, but only under duress. But that has changed since this new location opened. I love this location. The food and produce are pretty much the same as one would find at any location. But the employees are what make this Costco special. They are nice, they are helpful and they genuinely seem to be happy to work there. On a recent trip, I wanted a rotisserie chicken (my mother LOVES them!) but they weren't ready. After I waited for a few minutes, the gentleman behind the counter suggested that I finish my shopping and come back. When I told him that I was already finished, he told me to go ahead and get in line and he would bring it to me, which he did. How amazing was that?! I used to go in when I needed to make big purchases. But now, I go in if I just need a salmon filet or some produce. AND its close to home!! Love it!! read more

I love Costco. And this one sells incredibly inexpensive liquor, along with other things that make Costco great, like giant cans of canned chicken and 25-lb. bags of powdered sugar. I bought a 1.75L bottle of Bacardi rum for $18.39. $18.39! If a shot is an ounce, that's about 59 shots. Alcohol and math, yes! read more

I purchased tires at a fairly decent price. However, I made an appointment for 11 am, and it wasn't honored. When I arrived and said I had an appointment, I could tell there wasn't room for my car. I spoke with someone at the desk and said if they couldn't keep my appointment, I'd have to come back. She said they'd pull it in right away and get started. I went ahead and completed my shopping inside, only to arrive back at the tire center at 11:43 to learn the technicians hadn't even begun work on my car. If they can't keep appointments, they shouldn't offer them. This inefficiency and false advertising negates the savings on the price of the tires. read more

Spacious parking spaces, wide aisles, and friendly staff. Completely opposite of what you'll normally find in Costco in Northern Virginia.

Girl....I love this place. But, the traffic in and out is unbearable. It took me about 20 minutes to get into the parking lot. Now I'm stuck in a death spiral trying to exit. It's making people so mad that people are startin' to fight! Someone needs to fix this ASAP. read more

My favorite place in DC, hands down. I try to get there early, right when they open, to avoid the madness, but even when its packed the checkout people do a good job of keeping things moving. I'll get gas too if the lines arent too long, but mainly I go for booze, meat and produce. I also got some cute snow boots last week! Yay for costco! read more

Store is great, staff is rude. If you can deal with rude service then you'll be happy here. I went in to inquire about a getting a membership. Since they don't do trial membership, I asked if I could take a look at their baby section to be sure it would be worth my while become a member. I was told no. Fine, I understand store policy. I asked if someone could walk over with me. No. So I stood there a little perplexed. My options were buy a membership or leave. Another worker jumped in as the original one rolled her eyes and remarked to someone else how annoyed she was. This second employee wasn't much more pleasant. She asked in a terse tone, "What are you looking for?" I asked about two specific products and she rattled off the prices, rudely. Needless to say, membership wasn't purchased. read more

I had a good time at the Costco when i went for two reasons. First because they sell liquor and second everything is so damn cheap and big well thats three things lol. Got me some tequila, margarita mix, and vodka and lemonade for the weekend. As with all new costco stores, they hire all new staff making the opening days and weeks a bit awkward. This store keeps getting better. The staff is getting faster at check-out and more helpful in the store. It's clean, well lit, and oh the samples. So lad to see the gas station is coming! read more

Who knew that a Costco in DC would be bigger, have more selection, and roomier parking than the burbs? Shocking. The only downside is not Costco's fault- Google maps is clueless on the existence of the place and can't properly navigate to the address. Get there while no one knows about it or is able to find it. It's been nearly empty of the VA and MD Costco teeming masses. read more

I love everything that everyone has written in other reviews and don't feel the need to repeat all the great things Costco offers, but wanted to write a simple review to state that today I've become an even bigger fan of Costco. I was pumping up an air mattress I bought here 3 months ago over the weekend and part of it hit the corner of a sharp piece of furniture I have and it popped a small hole. When I called and informed them of the mishap (Including that it was my own fault and nothing to do with the mattress) they told me to bring in the mattress and I don't need the box or receipt to replace it. WOW! That was incredible. I did not expect them to be so flexible and helpful. It's a really great place and worth the membership even if you only get gas there! read more

Costco inside of Washington, DC. yep it's true. I was a little skeptical at first. I thought it was going to be crazy and people would be out of control but I was wrong. It's one of the nicer locations in the DMV. The parking lot was packed but when you got inside, the place was fairly empty. I was able to get what I needed and get out in record time. I was very impressed with this branch of the warehouse store. so expect to find great deals on merchandise. And this is one of the few locations near city center that has a gas station. But they are really friendly and helpful employees, from the personable greeter, the cheerful and efficient cashier to the solicitors floor team member. I highly recommend this place. read more

I returned to Market Street Costco with my vehicle that had a tire with slow leak after getting it plugged three days prior. Instead of them calling me to tell me the tire has to be replaced, I walk up to find the tire sitting on the side and everyone back there (4 men) standing around one car. When I asked how much for all 4 tires, the rep didn't look in the system, he pulled out a calculator which made me feel that he was not trying to find the best deal. So I told him to put air in the tire and put it back on my car. When I get outside to pick up my vehicle, I'm was given the run-around as to where to find the person holding my key. This is after having to ask if this is the point where I go outside to get my car. I have food in hand and it's snowing fast and hard walking back and forth trying to find the guy with my key. The absolute worst experience! Never will return there for service to my vehicles. read more

I definitely enjoy the CDS workers. They go out of their way to make the experience very pleasant. I would give the over all experience more stars but today I have to give less stars because of the parking situation. It took 25 minutes just to attempt to fill up at the gas pump. We never actually got gasoline because as we discovered no one was exiting the gas lines. the exits were jammed. because the exits were jammed no one was filling their cars. The costco parking lot workers were not doing anything to resolve the situation. After giving up on filling up with gas (we backed up out of that mess) and navigated through the non moving parking snag jam of the parking lot it took another 15 minutes to make it to a parking spot. The big problem they have here is there is only one entrance from the outside to the costco parking lot. All vehicles must enter exit through the same entrance. To make matters worse, once you enter off the street they route all cars over to the gas station whether or not you actually want to buy gasoline. And that is where all the cars get jammed up. Its a chaotic mess. If you go on a weekday its a completely different story, its easy. The bottom line, don't go on a weekend, unless you have a lot of patience and hours to waste. read more

Costco Tire Center: If I could give this place half a star rating I would. I tend to give places chance after chance and this place is one of those where they continue to let me down. Whether it's standing around or chitchatting amongst the lot crew and not being professional. I'll drive to the Pentagon Costco if need be, to have professional service provided. I seem to not be able to get someone knowledgeable or if they are it's like I'm a bother to them. I guess I could try a weekend of coming in. Maybe it will be a different crew but, during the week I would avoid going there after work from 430-8 if all possible. Too bad my job is a day shift job so the only opening time I have is coming in after my shift. I wish this place would get the boys in the shops act together! read more

Nice store but too much of a schlep for me. The one great thing about this store is they sell liquor unlike many of the other Costcos. Otherwise this Costco is much like the others in the DC area. Parking is okay but getting out of the parking takes you through a long route out. While this sounds like a negative review, it really is not. I like this store much better than the Pentagon City Costco but I am not sure I want to make the drive for this quiet Costco. read more

This Costco was GREAT! I've been to many Costcos before and this one was very organized and smooth sail. All the sale signs and items were stocked up well. This would be one stop shop because they have alcoholic beverage, gas station, and everything else. Parking is huge and not very crowded at all. read more
