A Dollar Tree receipt from Washington, DC, listing two items, their prices, and the total amount paid, including taxes.

Be careful when you shop at the store if you don't get bags they will charge you for bags. So just make sure before you leave the store you check your receipt. I don't care if it's for one bag two bags or three bags still your money. Beware!!!

Not a real rat on the floor!

I have a formula for any dollar store I visit: school supplies, craft items, gift cards/gift bags, snacks for road trips, and party plates/napkins. This store had loads of supplies. They were still in boxes, stacked at nearly every aisle. The aisles can't accommodate two carts passing each other. If you linger to look at anything, you are in someone's way. I did not enjoy this visit. The store had a nice security guard. The area was sketchy in the daylight. Cars were parked two and three cars deep, for a single space. The location was also hard to safely exit the parking lot to return to Michigan Avenue. I didn't find many school items. It was too crowded to check out the food rows. the best find was a bottle of Pedialite. I wouldn't go out of my way for another visit. The cashiers were nice.

Don't trust the website on Sat night!

Great deals on loads of necessities and party supplies. Generally polite staff. Parking can be a bear. But four stars because everything is really just one dollar. Not $1.59 or $3.60 or $7.99 like at "Family Dollar" and other ersatz dollar stores. I appreciated that the DC Metro Police were onsite and it made us feel good to see them; instead of the Natl Guard. Our shopping was seamless and quick. There are items here that are not in CA Costcos. We were happy to see how organized and well maintained the merchandise is here. The only thing that we couldn't find was coffee creamer. In CA, the creamer is in the dairy freezer room, but not here. The food court has a Caramel Brownie Sundae that we do not have in CA. It's $2.99 but huge and looks yummy. We ordered a half cheese half pepperoni pizza and a chicken bake. Waiting on the pizza is a long 15min from ordering but I am sure it is worth the wait. I will update the review if it's not good.

TIRE CENTER RATING ONLY:…read more The staff has bad attitudes consistently. They act like you're bothering them when you come in for any sort of work. I called to make an appointment for a tire rotation and was put on hold for so long, I forgot I was on hold and tried to make another call only to discover it had been 18 minutes of silence with nobody coming back to the line. I called back and was unapologetically told they had people in the store waiting so I needed to wait and it could be another 15-20 minutes. I came in today for a tire rotation and was early for my 11:30 appt. It takes about 20 mins to rotate tires, so I would expect to be out around noon; however, this location is notorious for not knowing how to manage their time. The woman working the counter told me my car would be the next in the bay and the work would be started within 15 minutes, completed in AN HOUR AND A HALF. Excuse me?! Are they hand cranking the lug nuts? Fast forward to 1 PM, I get the call and assume my car is ready. No. They just pulled it in and hadn't even started. When I asked what happened, one of the workers called the manager over because I was apparently giving him attitude. The manager and I had a cordial conversation and I gave him candid feedback that was received apologetically. My car was done in 20 mins as expected. The manager said they're short staffed today. I told him this is an ongoing problem that I only encounter at this Costco. He said he will talk with his staff. A manager has always promised this when I inevitably have to talk to them. I will say the lady who works the front desk had much less attitude than the last time I was here. The tire center needs to recognize their customers' time is valuable and not all of us have 2+ hours to kill at Costco for a 20 min tire rotation.
