This review is ONLY for the Costco PHARMACY.... I have always loved doing my shopping at Costco and I still do. I have 3 boys and a husband so buying in bulk is ideal. However... stay away from the Pharmacy at the Tumwater Costco. There's a woman who was working today 12/31/16 between the hours of noon to 1:45 was a complete nightmare! Costco would be wise to "Let her go" she was extremely rude not only to myself but a few other people waiting in line as well. She has ZERO people skills and I don't think she even understands how to properly do her job. I am not the only customer who was insulted and completely disappointed by the customer service. This woman shouldn't be employed in the pharmacy. I love Costco and will continue to shop at Costco but my prescription business is going across the street to Fred Meyers. I'll adjust my review if or when that woman is either "Let go" or possibly trained to do her job right. read more

I went to the Tumwater Costco this morning and forgot that I had neglected to remove $760 cash from my purse. Weeelllll... Apparently, I dropped it when I pulled my wallet out; can you imagine? I am VERY GRATEFUL to Carlos and Rob for reuniting me with my cash, especially at this time of year. Carlos found it and turned it in. Super unhappy Bought tires on-line from Costco.com. Their price was good for the performance tires I needed for my car. Scheduled my appointment. I did a little shopping while I waited, twice the amount of time they said it would be. They ruined (rounded) a few of my lug nuts and didn't have the OEM replacements. They replaced the existing valve caps with green ones, where did the gray ones go? The side walls have some greens spray paint on them....huh? Overall....the discount price doesn't make-up for the lack of confidence I have now in them. I won't be buying tires for any of my car at this place again. read more

It's Costco, which for me just screams HEADACHE. I live in Seattle. I'm used to horrendous parking, lots of people-very sheep like, trudging along and stopping suddenly in aisles. Baaah baaahhh baaaaaahhhh. Rudeness. Grouchiness. Snobbishness. The feeling of "rushed" is an understatement through check out, on any given day be it busy or not. Visiting my friend in Tumwater, we decided why not run errands while chit chatting. We're girls so we're down for ANY type of shopping. First, the parking lot was a breeze and mind you, I came mid day on a Sunday. Plus there are bushy, lovely green tree's lining each aisle of the parking lot which just makes me feel good. Like I'm in a forest! Inside, the people were SO nice. They didn't hassle me at the door for me to show my Costco card. I can't tell you how awesome that was. I didn't even have it out because I wasn't thinking but no one asked for it either. THANK YOU! Walking along, the sample people LIKED their jobs. They were informative, helpful and completely engaged in customer interactions. I can't tell you how many eye rolls I've gotten waiting for a sample at the South Center or 4th ave Seattle Costco. Because of my taste testing experience yesterday being so positive, I got some super yummy grilled veggies in oil by Del Destino mix with Seeds of Change quinoa and brown rice and guess whose enjoying it for lunch today!? THIS GIRL! I also got a huge bottle of Sweet Baby Rays honey mustard that I'll be dipping some baby carrots in later, thanks to an awesome samples person. THANK YOU! you made me try some new ways to eat foods I love and I'm so excited about my week in food because of ya'll. Check out was great and helped to end my visit with a smile. Our check out lady was jazzed out in Seahawk bling and when I was able to update her with the score, she gave me a sticker and a smile. It's really the little things. I love Tumwater Costco usually have very great service but I cannot understand why someone who works in customer service hates to work with people. There is a gal by the name of Cherie (shorter white female, late 30s, bob haircut) she has to be the rudest person I've come across here. You ask for help and she never knows the answer, nor does she try to help obtain an answer. She talks inappropriately about her Co workers and customers, she's disgusting and I'm truly surprised to find someone like this at Costco, she would fit in better at Walmart as this is the type of behavior I'd expect from there. My family and I have shopped here for years and I actually try to avoid her lines or her In general. She's very unprofessional and her managers should be aware of what kind of people they have employed here. read more

I remember when Costco was a new name to a lot of folk, but that was years ago. If I have a complaint, it's a purely selfish one. Ok, I get it. The virus has hit and changed everything. BUT that is no excuse for the rudeness I'm experiencing with the optical department at the Tumwater, WA Costco. For one, there are far FEWER shoppers than usual, you can only bring in yourself + one, so don't even tell me those people can't be bothered to answer a phone. This happened before the Virus and is happening now - three week later. I've been in there, post virus and was pleased to not have to fight the supposed "crowds". SO having some lady on the phone tell me the optical department can not answer their phone because they are swamped- sorry, not believing that. Plus - I had some very sub par customer service even picking out frames, the lady there pretty much refused to help. I asked her if the glasses looked good on me, she barely glanced and me and stated, "yea, sure". So I asked again, do they look like they fit correct? Duh...Same answer. Apparently you have to have the frames in one hand and your prescription in the other before taking a number or speaking to them. That was the attitude. Despite this, I purchased the eyeglasses. Fast forward two weeks. I picked them up and they refused to fit them. Cause they might have to touch my face with their GLOVED hands.. Really...Going a bit overboard... Your wearing gloves, I think you can touch the side of my face / ears, IF needed. I try these glasses at home, over and over. They hurt my sides of my head -are so tight they are leaving indents in my skin and pushing my ears out. I'm not even sure if the prescription is correct as I see better with the other glasses I had... Refund policy Costco is supposed to have a great refund policy, but the optical department has their own. I was told I would have to wait until the next week, when a manager was working, to even attempt to get a refund because apparently they DO NOT DO REFUNDS for eyeglasses. Also, they are supposedly so "swamped" yet the manager is on vacation or on fur low??? Really? The only thing worse than bad service is a bad excuse. I should have stuck with the optical department in Lacey or Puyallup, as both of those locations have nice, friendly, helpful staff and accurate lens makers. I live near Olympia, can go to Lacey or Tumwater, same travel time. I can tell you I will never be back at the Tumwater location. Not now, not next week, not next month. Never. read more

The Tumwater Costco is better stocked than the Lacey Costco - for example, the brown eggs are only available here now, as are Gardenburgers and prime steaks. **edit** - the brown eggs are back at the other one. Wait, what? That's right - USDA prime steaks are now available at this location. Grilled up some New York steaks, and boy-howdy they were good. No longer is it necessary to hit up a steakhouse for prime-grade beef - buy it here, grill it yourself. I love this Costco, this review is not about the store as a whole but one employee(shorter,Asian-American, dark hair, always has her name tag flipped over or off) . The last 4 times I've tried to order food from there after shopping this employee has been extremely rude to every single person she interacts with. This employee is rude in about every way possible, I thought the firsT time it happened that maybe she was just having a bad day up until the 2nd 3rd and 4th time I had an even worse experience. The way she looks at the customer is almost intimidating, and the way she talks to them is way out of line. For instance the lady in front of me was thanking her for working during this "hard time" and she just looks at her and rolls her eyes and walks away. There has not been a time I've seen this employee be neutral to someone, she is always rude in some kind of way. I can tell she hates her job so I hope she gets some relief and doesn't have to work there anymore. I don't know her name because she has her name tag flipped every single time I have come to this Costco. I hope Costco comes to realize how much of a trash employee she is but without her name I don't think that's going to happen. read more

I haven't been to the newer one in Lacey but I imagine they carry the same products. I don't know how to leave review for the VERIZON booth in Costco but they are awful! Traded in two phones with $500 each for new iPhones and never once received credit for them. It's been two years now and Costco and VERIZON just go back and forth pointing blame and neither take responsibility. It's pathetic and rude! I got ripped off and was never given credit back. Now I'm still paying $130 a month for bills when I should only pay $99 a month for one phone. Makes me sick! read more

I ordered from the store for two day deliivery and it took 10 days and I can understand that but the problem is I paid extra from costco online the the items to have them delivered. But they canceled my delivery and made it a will call, so I had to drive 20 miles to pick it up. What a rip off. Be sure to call them often to make sure they don't change your orders so you have to break home isolation to save them money. What greedy as*)&(. It is all about the greed. Horrible customer service at the tire shop. They did not let me know that my tires were delivered. It took two weeks for shipping and then they said they had a two week wait on installation. When I came to the tire shop this guy named Paul had the worst attitude. He was like, you probably won't get the deal now because we have to refund you the order for a different Costco to install the tires. Honestly it was a hot mess. I could be a b-head and complain about the lines and how they're out of the stuff I buy sometimes but I don't think it's fair to judge on how popular the store is and once in awhile being out of a product is normal, I personally think we're lucky to have such a well run Costco in our town. read more

Ok, so everybody knows that costco is mega cheap, but they are are also starting to carry more organic items! There was a ginormous box of organic raisins for $8 that would last until the apocalypse. Organic broccoli in a bag that was very tender and tasty. Organic spinach in a huge box, only $4. They have Lara bars too. Organic beef was about $4/lb, which is pretty cheap. Items do change, and rapidly. It is hard to tell where stuff is sometimes. But hey, its an outlet (kinda) and cheap so its worth it. The staff are super friendly. The best times to go are Tues or Wed mid day. They are getting in all kinds of outdoor/gardening stuff right now which is very exciting. Oh and the gas is SUPER cheap! I resisted for a long time but I'm super glad I'm a member now. read more

I love my Costco. I go there a couple times a week. I get meds at the pharmacy and grab a fresh roasted chicken whenever I'm there. Sometimes, I just go in for a chicken! People with their carts full stare at me and usually allow me to go in front of them. Employees recognize me and say hi and always seem friendly. I am sad that the food court replaced its chocolate frozen yogurt with açaí. I miss getting my vanilla/ chocolate swirl. Not a fan of açaí. The first time they told me they no longer served chocolate yogurt, the guy helping me offered to put chocolate syrup on a vanilla for me. So nice! It helped, but wasn't the same. All in all, I love my Costco. The Tumwater Costco. I'll have to write a different review for Hawks Prairie. read more

I've been in Olympia for 6 days from Florida. Since arriving, my Android read 4G, however I only hhad one bar and/or no service. My calls consistently dropped and when I was fortunate enough to have service, I could only hear every other word and vice versa. On the 6th day I road to a strip mall with the friend I'm staying with and thankfully a Metro PCS store by chance was directly next door to the establishment she was patronizing. Naturally I went inside, thankful I could finally get some help to determine what was going on with my device. Antonio, the only Representative in the store was certainly pleasant enough to me initially. There was brief conversation about how no one in the area had service this day. When my turn came to be waited on Antonio I explained to him I have experienced problems communicating on my device since arriving in Olympia. Without looking at my device Antonio said "It's probably your phone." I said no. My device was not the issue as it worked perfectly before arriving in Olympia. He said, "Well like I said, no one has had service today." I replied, "What about the other 5 days?" Finally he took my device, commented how nice it was and how nice the encasement was that housed my Android. As an authorized dealer, I felt Antonio could have afforded me some amount of troubleshooting and he did not and put the blame on the device without even going into the settings. My device is my office and I'm missing many clients who call, thus loosing money. This did not seem to matter to Antonio. I intended to pay my bill before I left, but was too upset by his disinterested and half-hearted approach to the problem I was experiencing with my device. I was also concerned because the other women in the store received more of his favor and attention. I said the heck with this and left the store. While in Costco, I saw a Verizon Kiosk and approached two young men attending the venue, fully prepared to switch my service considering I'm month to month with Metro PCS. I didn't end up doing this because the young men helped me solve the problem with my device. Their names were Marcus and Riley. They asked me a multitude of questions and we eventually came to the conclusion that the area in which I am living temporarily is near the Municipal Airport and each agreed based on their experience customers tend to have little to no signals there and suggested I use wifi-calling. They instructed me on what I needed to do when I returned back to my friends home. Upon arriving back, I took their instructions to heart and made the adjustments each recommended. Since, I'm no longer experiencing the problems I was before. I would like to say thankyou to both Marcus (I believe) and Riley. While they were not well-versed on my Windows Phone, the fact they bent over backwards to assist me meant the world to me. I believe each demonstrated exemplary customer service, despite the fact I'm not a Verizon customer. While I'm not trying to get Antonio in trouble, I needed some meaningful way of letting him know that I really needed his expertise and found none. I could have dealt with that, had Antonio just made an attempt to provide some customer service without making me feel like a stupid woman. Verizon inside Costco, you are the bomb and have two excellent employees in Marcus and Riley. Thanks guys, you saved my butt. Do not get an eye exam at the independent optometrist here! I will NEVER go back here again. I have seen Dr. Berry before, and he wasn't bad but the other doctor his practice is awful! She is unkind, and will be sure to share her personal opinion of any medications you take. She terrified me with side effects, telling me that it is ruining my vision as well as my internal organs! I left feeling extremely shamed and judged. I called my medical doctor after the appointment because she traumatized me. My MD informed me those side effects only happen in .1% of the population and I have zero indications those uncommon side effects will happen to me. She shouldn't ever of said those things to me. She doesn't have a warm or compassionate bone in her body. If you would like a doctor that at at least acts like they care about you as a human being go else where!! read more

Normally were big fans of Costco, but today I was very displeased. As we were walking down the aisles an owner had a fully grown mini dog, the dog was scared of all the big carts and people and pooping in different areas in the store. The owner did clean up the feces but it was still very unsanitary. I was very disgusted so I told the on shift supervisor about this and he was also disgusted and asked another employee to ask the owner if the dog was a service animal, the owner said yes, so end of story. I could tell you that a dog wearing a pink dress with a diaper is not a service animal. I am NOT against service animals, but dogs that aren't, and are allowed in business with food I do not agree with. Hopefully Costco fixes this so that it's more strict and proof of certification are showed before an animal is allowed in a facility that sells food. read more

Update...this will now be the only place I go for Electronics as well! I just purchased a 55" 4k UHD here a few weeks ago. The price was fantastic, under $1000. I also purchased the extended warranty for 5 total years of protection, which is great because one of my flat screens only lasted a year and a half. The best part is while I was in the parking lot preparing my trunk for my purchase, a gust of wind came by and knocked my brand new tv over! But be a use Costco is AMAZING, they switched it out for a new one right away, no questions asked. I love my new tv, and I love Costco! read more

FY. I thought I would check out senior hour shopping at Costco Tumwater this morning. I figured there would be a line and it was very long as it was 7:55. The odd thing I noticed was there were many people in the lot unloading their carts already, some with toilet paper and paper towels but very full carts with a variety of items. I walked around the building saw the line was clear to the back and debated whether I wanted to deal with it. About that time an employee came along shouting we are out of toilet paper and paper towels. I walked back to my car. It was 8:03 when I got in. I asked the employee on the way by when do you open he said we open at 8:00. Clearly not for some folks because they had filled a cart checked out and headed for their car before 8:00? Just added - there was absolutely NO social distancing in the line, 100-200 people lined up almost touching as if they were buying tickets to a game. I would not go there if you believe in social distancing. read more

If it were not for one really mean person who works there this would have been a star! Best Costco around. Love everyone, food court is yummy and great service, always the most helpful friendly staff. Just one short woman with short brown hair and a pointy snub nose who is always rude at the door. I try to avoid her at all cost. Had to complain because she would not let me 14 year old go back in to the bathroom without me being present in the store. I was in a electric cart due to just having a tendon tear away from my ankle and I was at the door when he NEEDED to go. He is a fine young man and knows most the staff by name as well as they know him. But this woman seeing me in this trolley with two toddlers with me told him NO!?!!?!? ugghhh...anyway, the management took care of it! So great! Not sure how but I received a very kind phone call and I have had no problems since. Shop early and the lines are not at hectic. read more

It's another Costco. My only wish is that all Costcos carried the exact same stuff. I know, they change from time to time and they change location of all their items hourly so no one knows were to find anything. Came here with my daughter and her 2 kids. They were all over the store, in spite of the 10 year old being on crutches with a broken foot. By the time we were half way done with shopping, they were both tired out and her foot was hurting. We had to cut the trip short which was probably good as I was running low on money. read more

Been disappointed lately with the customer service and staff lately. It seems as if the workers there aren't as friendly as they used to be and they don't seem to be happy to be working there. They're quite rude. For example, today at the food court I was cut in line by a Costco employee. It was a slow evening and I was waiting patiently, single line, normally double but the left side of the cashier was flipped "closed". The customers in front were finishing up and then a Costco employee decides he's going to cut in front and the deli clerk watched and simply let it happen. He even flipped the sign on the other side to validate the cut. Seriously? I don't know what has happened to the Tumwater Costco, but, the staff they've hired has gone way down hill. 2 Star rating in hopes things will get better, but then again with this trend, it could easily go down to 1 star, but I'll hold out hope for a bit longer. read more

I prefer this Costco to most others because the check out lines tend not to be so long. I do wish there was an outdoor area for the food court in the summer as that is a fun experience that I miss. But overall, it's as good or better than other Costcos! read more
