I usually cringe at the thought of wholesale shopping on weekends and upcoming holidays. But today, I must have lucked out because I literally had no lines at the pharmacy, the self checkout, and the concession stand. All of the sales associates I encountered were very pleasant and helpful. I would like to make a suggestion though. My husband and I witnessed how hard the young gentlemen who were working corralling the shopping carts outside of the store entrance. As a large and well respected corporation that Costco is, we were bewildered that these young men were not using any kind of mechanical assisting device for the cart returns. If possible, could Costco please consider purchasing these to prevent any injuries to the employees working in this capacity? read more

My family and I were shopping in the Tumwater store last Sunday and as we were headed to our car with our overloaded cart when disaster struck and our case of energy drinks fell off the bottom of the cart and about half of the cans were busted and making a mess. Before we could even pick it up ourselves, warehouse employee Ky, swooped in to save the day and offered to take the damaged case back inside and exchange it for a new one. Since they were already closed we weren't sure if it was even possible but Ky assured us it could be done. This review is for the pharmacy and not costco as a whole. I could not find a separate place to review them. Firstly, we are traveling so we got our travelers vaccinations and medications here. If you have a costco card it makes your medications significantly cheaper! One of my medications went from $150 to just $50. Additionally,most places charge $50+ to do the travelers vaccination and medication stuff. With costco you purchase it online for $30 and you fill out your information online in a simple and easy to use format. It takes a while but they are thorough. Next let's discuss service... the pharmacist who gave me and my partner our shots was... AMAZING. I told her I was terrified of needles and don't like knowing when they go in our looking at them. We had organic conversation that when I was into it and forgot about the shots she got going and I didn't notice! Well of course I noticed after the first one but then I was super comfortable because she was so gentle and kind. Lastly, the space was clean, they had all of the traveler vaccinations we needed while other places did not, and everyone we worked with was great! I patron this Costco and I would say I grew there several times a month. Everybody who works there is incredibly helpful, and upbeat. I've never had negative experiences out of Costco other than how busy they are and a little difficult to park, but as far as efficiency and help, it's fantastic. I usually use self-checkout and specifically Rhonda and Alex are incredible. They're funny, helpful, quick, and work their butts off. I highly recommend this location. read more

A Costco is a Costco, is a Costco, so no complaints about the system, the products o the way it works. Just wanted to gripe about their new attempt at efficiency. They wanted to speed things up, so a guy with an iPad stopped us while we were in the checkout line and he scanned our card, scanned all our items,and if the system worked right, all we had to do was hand our membership card to the cashier and just pay. We get to the cashier and she scans our card, but nothing comes up. She shows her manager, and he sighs because it's clear this isn't the first time this has happened, and tells her to start over and scan everything again. Not so efficient, right. Costco, I know you're trying to speed up the lines, but this was dumb and this ain't it. I appreciate the attempt, but please don't complicate things when they don't work. Just let us stand in line and go to the cashier and pay for our stuff. I don't want hope of getting to get out faster if it's going to lead to the same result, just now with us moving items around the shopping cart so another guy can scan stuff and it not do anything to make things faster. read more

I love there prices, return policy etc. today was my very first experience for I don't know how many years that I actually did not like it and probably will end up driving further to another location. For 1) the ladies working returns OMG questioning customers like no other. It's like DAMN I pay for a membership bfor the prices and return policy. 2nd the blonde chick who cashed me out was on her phone when I got there didn't acknowledge me for a few and was scrolling on her Facebook the ENTIRE time. Like WTF Costco how the hell is this acceptable?? Yall are getting to lax and I can honestly say I felt like I was shopping at Walmart! Costco is definitely one of my favorite stores. I'm coming from a Southern state so there are just a couple of differences. Layout is pretty much the same, but I really liked the food court. You order food in a kiosk, then an employe calls your number and you get your order. Really great idea. Tables are frequently cleaned. There is also a little stand with wet napkins and hand sanitizer. Both employees and customers are wearing masks. Lines are moving pretty fast. I prefer coming here in the evenings, like after 7 pm. It's not crowded at all at this time. read more

I'm obsessed with Costco! From the food court deals to the wide variety of foods, it's incredible. But the $5 rotisserie chickens are the icing on the cake for my family. Great friendly associates and plenty on the floor for any assistance you may need. My husband truly enjoy just browsing as we shop and checking out all the deals they have. You can get a hot fresh rotisserie chicken for $5 and a thing of cooked ribs for $7, insanely delicious deals. The food court deals are insane. Hotdog combos for $1.50, .69 cent drinks, and so much more. The bakery selection is one of the most impressive parts. Huge selection, great deals, and lots of friendly workers. Overall, we absolutely love this Costco and can't wait for each fun shopping trip there. read more

We frequent Costco for bulk meats/seafood and a whole bunch of different items at least twice a month. Today we got this pack of flank steak. I have just recently started doing meal prep and I'm weighing all of my meat before I put it in the freezer. I'm shocked to see they shorted us by over a whole pound in the package based off of the label. I tried calling the Costco meat department and the phone just rang and rang and rang and nobody answered. I will be following up at the corporate office. read more

Normally I would be happy with Costco's service but lately some of their employee's customer service has been awful.. I asked A question and an employee at the tire center went off on me letting me know I didn't know how to use the product, in a very condescending manner.. I know people are going though a hard tine but please rember youre at work, don't take it out on a customer.. I AM hispanic and after sitting at the tire center for 45 mons the employee seems to treat white older people withal more curtesy and respect than people of color.. while hanging out for 45 min multiple people asked for help from this employee. The employee clearly demonstrated different attitudes from hispanic people to older white peole.. where older white people get excellent customer service while myself and a couple other peope of color got talked down to in a condescending manner. UPDATE : requested to talk to a different employee , this employee was hispanic and we ended in much better terms. His customer service was excellent with excellent communication, and making sure all my concerns were taken care of.. thanks you Luis for the great customer, service at the tire center! read more

Bizarre experience at the pharmacy. Had never used it before, but since I was shopping, it was convenient. The clerk was so consumed with the fact that "my insurance " didn't cover it. It cost $5.99! I didn't want to mess around with insurance! Then they got my cell number wrong. Never got a text. The next clerk was odd. Directed me to the wrong window. The pharmacist asked me "have WE ever taken this before?" And "be sure to eat some food with this "FOR ME." I know he was talking to me as if I was a child because I'm an older woman. Wow Costco you really outdid yourself I have six kids and there are two adults in our home that's a total of eight people when you get a tell me that my family can only have one rotisserie chicken after we've already got up to the pay line. There were no signs or no warnings this is absolutely ridiculous. I am in 100% agreement with only allowing families to get a limited amount of toiletries because they're running out so fast but to put a limit on the amount of food that a large family can have is absurd and you should be ashamed of yourself! read more

Wow! What is the deal with the food court? Yes the food is affordable, yes it tastes good. But the customer service is seriously lacking. If you don't take cash, then don't have a register, and post a sign that says No Cash. or add a cash machine at the self order computers. But to stand at a register (with a line of people) waiting to place an order, and waiting 15 minutes trying to get anyone to pay attention to you is ridiculous. Everyone in line gave up, I understand you're busy. But to flat out ignore, avoid eye contact, and purposely turn your backs to customers, is ridiculous. read more

The staff is always so friendly and helpful even amidst the chaos. Not a fan of the person trying to sell me something 50 yards in, but it could be worse. The sample system is a wreck, fix it. I enjoy the bacon, fresh flowers and opportunities to try new things. I wish the volume of people I have to maneuver around was less, but it is a good thing, at least they are at a store that pays a living wage. read more

To those who think they shouldn't have to wear a mask and wonder why they should have to I understand they are uncomfortable but if you can protect those around you as well as workers why not wear one. My thought on those who medically cannot wear one I would fear for your health to be around a lot of people in closed setting. I would gladly shop for you if I could. Costco always my favorite store to explore whenever I'm traveling since you will never know what you are missing. Each region has their own buyers so they sell different things. This trip I splurged on these oh my goodness Stabilyze bars that are supposed to be better than Luna or nugo or the like bars. I liked it because it was flavorful and oh so chocolatey. Only in this area do they sell these since the maker is from WA and it was designed by a doctor. Flavors I splurged on were chocolate mint and chocolate peanut butter can u say Thin Mints with protein oh yeah! Or Reese's like protein bar! So yum try them. Anyways sorry for the random rant, but basically the Costco sample stands and quality of the items never surprise or stop amazing me. I always find what I want and this time based on a sample a new protein bar that was yummy. Parking was a breeze all the workers were friendly (ones I encountered) and I would come back if this location was closer to home but I was just passing thru on interstate 5 although we took the following exit if I knew better the first exit was so much closer to the highway read more

I absolutely love this Costco. It is one of the easiest to get around and find things and the employees are all super nice. They keep the lines moving and are super awesome about returns. I shop here several times a month and on rare occasion get nasty fruit - they gladly accept it back. Prices are great, selection is great, samples a plenty, and the store is clean. I love it here! Maybe too much. One thing I do wish they would change is only taking cash or check at the food court. COME ON it is 2015 - take a debit card please! Oh and I really wish they carried more ethnically diverse food i.e. sushi (like what they have in Seattle). This is Olympia and there is diversity here - lets get some new and interesting food in this place :) I am taking my son to get contact lenses tomorrow (actually cheaper than going the insurance route) - hopefully that experience will be just as great as shopping at Costco. read more

The food court is either playing favoritism or just wildly incompetent. I just ordered a pizza. As did several people behind me. Only difference was after 10 to 15 minutes, everyone BEHIND me started getting called to get their pizzas. After watching this go on for awhile, the lady that rang me up asked what my order number was, even though I watched her write it down on a piece of paper with everyone else that ordered one. They walk around looking confused like they're looking for it, and with no explanation, I sit there for ANOTHER 15 mins watching everyone behind me get their food and leave. A half hour later my pizza is finally ready!? I would've demanded an answer to my treatment, since I received no apology or explanation, but didn't want to hold up the rest of the people behind me trying to get their dinner. Been going to this Costco for decades and many of the employees have also been there for decades. It is a well run machine. This trip I noticed that they had the cheeseburger in the food court. I know that very few Costco's have the cheeseburger and have heard that Costco has multiple variants of the cheeseburger they are trying out at different stores. This one was $4.99 and I was not impressed. The patties were not as good as what Costco sells in the freezer section, so it was just OK and I would not buy it again. My wife had the new Acai bowl and loved it. This Costco also has the automatic coffee machines and I did like the $1.25 Hazelnut coffee. read more

This place is an absolute shit show. Cashier assistant rolled her eyes at me when I asked to have boxes and the manager I called to discuss the experience with could have cared less. I stood at membership and was completely ignored by 2 different women, a guy walked up next to me and they both greeted him, proceeded to help him and still ignore me! Lol.
