I have a love hate relationship with this place. You always end up with something you don't really need, that how they get ya. Over all i enjoy shopping here, however the patrons can be sort of a bummer. They typically seen to be try to run you over with the ginormous carts (needed to haul off your treasures) or just stopped in the way maligning it hard to shop. So I offer find myself here at a secret time when the crows seem to be at a minimum. One of the best things about the place it their return policy. It make it nice to not have to worry about not lovIng something, or it breaking. They don't make you feel like a criminal like most stores for bringing something back. I was standing in line to check out holding one item while an employee loaded carts on the belt. He bypassed me and loaded the carts from behind. I tried to tell the guy scanning items that I was next but he just started on what was next to him completely cutting me out of line. I eventually made it back in line and told them that they cut me off and had several people cut in front of me. Not a single person apologized and was upset I didn't want my item anymore and they had to put it back for me. I wish this was the only time something like this happened at this Costco. read more

This is for your guys eye center. Worst contacts I've opened my entire life. I supposedly got the contacts you can sleep in but when I wake up I cannot see because the contacts are so dry. This is a complete pain in the f**king a**. Especially with a newborn. I woke up at 3am and couldn't see to find my contact solution until my contacts were so dry they fell out of my eye!!! What the hell? I finally found my contact solution at 3:40 and could finally go back to sleep. Absolutely worst service and products. These contacts are Acuvue Vita. Complete trash! Wasted so much money compared to my normal eye doctor at Abundo Eyecare. You guys f**king suck. read more

This review is for the tire center Just had a horrible experience. Ordered tires 9 days ago and they are still not there yet. Corbin, one of the MANAGERS, was the one that I ordered the tires through and while I was physically in the tire center. A huge part of why I even ordered the tires I did was because he said they might have them in delivered and available later that day. Didnt hear anything the rest of the day (9 days ago on a Monday). Tuesday still hadn't heard so I call. Weren't in and "we'll call you". Wednesday same thing, "we'll call you". I didn't call Thursday since I felt like they were annoyed answering my calls. Friday I call in again because the rental I got from my insurance company (my tires were slashed) was due back allow since they only reserve it for what is REASONABLE to expect to get tires. I get Denny or Danny (who actually was awesome) and he says the notes show that the order was replaced the day before (By Corbin the MANAGER) and the tires wont be delivered till Tuesday or Wednesday. At no point did Corbin the manager try and call me to let me know that I won't get the tires for an additional 4-5 days... Tuesday comes and I call, still no tires. I call today (Wednesday) first thing in the morning and get someone who seems annoyed that I'm calling. He says they're not in and that it normally takes 3-5 business days to get them. I inform him that I ordered mine 9 days ago and he starts to pretend to be nice about it. Says he'll call and find out where and when the tires will be in and that deliveries normally come from 11-1. I dont hear anything for 3 hours so I call back and get the same guy. "We've been really busy, I haven't forgotten about you, just helping around here and when I can I'll call and then let you know." I don't hear anything. So I go into the store (now 5 pm) and actually get Danny (or Denny?). He remembers speaking to me several days before and is apologetic, only person that was. He goes and looks for the tires and tells me they're still not in. I ask for a refund. He is helpful and understanding. Has to get a manager to authorize it...some other MANAGER comes to the front, doesn't say a word to me and authorizes. Last thing. As I'm leaving the parking lot, it takes forever to leave the parking row because one of the tire center employees is struggling to drive a car with a Manual transmission into the garage...wow. He stalled it like 8 times. Could barely back out of the stall and killed it several times trying to get in the garage. Wouldn't recommend taking a car in with a manual transmission...or at all if they have mechanics who arent very mechanical. Was sad to see that the awesomeness and customer service of the regular part of costco doesn't carry over into their tire center. Especially when it comes to the managers. read more

Costco in general is good. Always love them. Today makes me so upset. Ordered a four set of tires a week ago. Got notified that is is being delivered to the warehouse so I made a plan to get the tire installed. Guess what, only 3 out of 4 tires arrive. It is really mess up all my plan for the day. CAUTION : really make sure to call and double call when you make the online order to make sure it's arrived before you make the plan. I hope what happened to me doesn't happen to you. This review is for this particular costco. I generally love costco (rate it 5/5), but unfortunately this location gets a 2/5. The parking lot here is insane. It's really difficult to pull in and get gas and way too many cars are stuck at the stop signs. The crowds at the registers are also unusally long here too. The staff here is not as friendly as other costcos and are very picky with coupons. I love the good deals here and the cheap food, but I try to avoid this one location as much as possible. read more

Costco is what it is, so this review is purely based on the optical center. Before you mock me, did you know that Consumer Reports ranked Costco as the #1 retail eye exam provider? That's right. I went there to get my eyes checked so I could take the prescription and order my glasses online through Warby Parker (I wish I could review THEM - they're awesome, and I highly recommend them). I got the exam and noticed that my PD (pupillary distance) number was missing. When I asked the doc for that number, he said they didn't have the machine that takes that measurement. He obviously didn't want me taking my prescription to order frames elsewhere, but my question is this: if they supposedly don't have the machine that measures PD, how do they expect anyone to order frames there at the counter? I ended up going to a completely different optical place to get my PD (EyeMasters on State Street in Sandy), and they gave it to me for free. read more

Ugghhh..I could never bring myself to give Costco one star, but the Sandy Costco is actually the worst one in existence. Very poorly planned. Both the parking lot and the store itself are terrible to navigate. I was in a hurry and only came for dog food. With much difficulty, I made my way to the back of the food side only to find that, unlike virtually all other Costcos in Utah, this location houses pet supplies on the OTHER SIDE OF THE STORE. The place was wall to wall with families eager to while away their Saturday evenings trying EVERY sample and it took several minutes to finally get my bag Kirkland lamb & rice. Then, of course, the lines were out of control. Listen, Craig Jelinek, it is CRAZY to think that one Costco is sufficient to serve the needs of the huge families of both Sandy AND Draper. I say raze this location and build two more further away from the hustle and bustle of the South Towne Center area. read more

Costco has always been a great place to go. Their food court food is crazy good for the price you pay. I often just got for the food court. Which by the way you don't need a membership to just access the food court, but be warned that they only take cash. $1.50 - hotdog & drink combo (best deal!!) $2.00 - large slice of pizza (pepperonni, cheese, or supreme) $10 - large whole pizza I talked to one of the empolyees at this location when I was getting a membership and I was told that this location is one of the BUSIEST locations IN THE STATE!!! And also that the Sam's Club accross I-15 is the SLOWEST in the state. So keep that in mind when your thinking about going to Costco on a saturday (the busiest day of the week) I find the best time to go to costco is tuesday or wednesday. The lines are a lot smaller and parking is much less of a headache. read more

The high points of our last two visits: When making a large purchase, a king mattress, and trying to use our rewards certificate the checker took my Costco card and looked at the reward certificate and let me know that "you know the card holder has to be here when you're using their card and, of course, you can't use that certificate..." I stopped her right there and let her know that even though I am a woman, I do have a name that is more often used by men and that if she'd turn the card around she would see a picture of me on it. The next time, we were profiled when leaving the store. My husband is quite young and has type 1 diabetes. This comes with a litany of horrible health problems. The latest thing we happen to be dealing with is Charcot foot. He has not been able to walk on his foot for the last 6 months. We have a knee scooter that he uses all day but if we are running to Costco after working 10 hours, he may use an electronic, sit down cart. This looks odd, again, because both of us are young and then look much younger than we actually are. We handed the lady at the door our receipt and she stopped and read every item and dug through the cart. Kind of odd, never had someone actually dig through the cart but whatever you need to do. Then she gave us this huge smile and said, "they missed ringing up one of the cans of coffee" she was telling us to turn around so that we could pay for the other one and wouldn't give me back my receipt. I leaned over her shoulder and pointed out that the coffee had indeed been rung up twice and were on two different lines. She deflates says "oh, okay. Bye" and then shoved my receipt at me. So what happened is that she saw two kids playing on an electronic cart and just knew we were trouble. She stopped us and paid particular attention because of how we looked. It's getting harder to pay to be treated like this. read more

Loved this Costco. I have always been a SAMs club girl since my mom has worked there my whole life. Still am. But it's nice to have a different variety of items to choose from. I don't have a membership there but went in for the first time to grocery shop just recently with friends. I learned that Costco takes their food to a whole nother level. I was impressed with how fresh they keep their produce. They have separate (extremely) large coolers for their produce as well as their dairy. This was surprising that it wasn't just in a refrigerator. The brands and the quality of products they carry are very good. They have deals going on all the time. I was excited to find my Keurig k-cups at a very good price! This club is nice and clean. I enjoyed my shopping experience here. Who knows, maybe I'll get a membership soon! read more

I love a good Costco, especially those serving churros and ridiculously cheap Diet Cokes. Wait, I guess most all Costcos do that. Good thing, too! This is your typical Costco chock full of stuff you didn't know you needed but you're definitely going to buy it because it comes in a 5-gallon bucket or 400-pound box. My kids love the Costco "buffet", and Costco loves my kids loving the tasting tables because I always impulse buy at least one or two items. I would have given this Costco five stars but they changed around the snack section (granola bars, gum, candy, etc.) and it still REALLY bugs me. Don't mess with the placement of my goldfish crackers or breakfast bars, buddy, or you'll live to regret it. read more

I shop at this and the Murray Costco and have found the following differences. The gas line is usually shorter here, but the pumps will sometimes cut off about one gallon before reaching a full tank. The tire center rarely has a full line of cars at the parking stalls, but it's often a long wait for someone to meet you at the counter. There isn't as much of organic selection here. Murray does a much better job. The lines are very reasonable here. The longest I've had to wait was 10 minutes. Sundays have the lightest traffic and is your best time to shop. And of course, if you're a member, you know all about the unlimited returns (except electronics) and the free food samples on Fridays and weekends. I tried Sams Club in the past to save a few more dollars, but always come back to Costco. read more

Purchased a Lenovo Touchscreen computer in 2016 and the touchscreen stopped working when I updated windows. There is no available fix for this online and it was out the original manufacturer warranty when the issue was discovered. I thought that we would be fine as we were covered under the Costco 2+2 extended warranty. I was wrong. While they do extend the warranty, they exclude any product defects which is the only reason you get a warranty . . . for defects. So pretty much this is a worthless gimic to give you peace of mind, but they do not follow through. I used to only purchase electronics from Costco due to this warm and fuzzy warranty. I will now go to Best Buy or elsewhere. read more

I have never seen so many big ol' suburbans in all my life! And out of them come pouring out kid's. The whole location is weird, kind of on the frontage road but having to drive thru car dealerships to get there. Inside everybody has a cart with children hanging off of them, sitting in them or holding on to them so they can skate with the weird shoes that have skates. This Costco is... weird. The parking lot is hard to navigate, but not nearly as confusing as the store itself. It took me forever to get through the store because I couldn't figure out where anything was. I visited on a Wednesday early afternoon and it was PACKED. I couldn't believe how busy it was. It took us a good 20 minutes to get through the check out line, and I only had 5 items. I usually like Costco better than Sam's, but after visiting this one I think I'll just renew my Sam's membership. Sam's has more of the items I'd like to buy in bulk anyway (Surf or Gain laundry soap, Purina cat food, and better canned good and bakery selections.) I do love that Costco has churros, but the line was so long we didn't have a chance to get one. Sniffle, sniffle. read more

I love Costco overall. Great products--particularly meat & produce. Love the food samples (makes shopping with kids tolerable.) Nice staff at this location too. And yummy food court. My biggest gripe about this location in particular is the CROWDS. So. Many. People. Always. This location serves the whole southern end of the valley--the most populous portion of the valley. This location is closest to me, so I come here a lot, but if I have any other reason to go to Murray, I'll save my Costco trip and go there. TIP: If your annual 2% reward certificate from your Executive Membership is less than the cost to upgrade, they will make up the difference with cash at the store, but you have to ask. This should be an automatic part of the process and not a secret. Disappointed! Sandy Costco: The two points of auto ingress are both constantly bottle necked. In general, it is a terrible parking lot to get around. The lines are always ridiculous long both at the check out lanes and their receipt check as you leave. (Never understand why they even have that or why customers don't complain more about that.) Other than that, it's a Costco - love it or hate it. read more

However, returned some items we weren't going to need at this location and Kristin at the return/exchange counter was extremely rude about it and tried to talk us out of returning the items. I was offended by how judgemental she was to us and definitely don't think she should be working in a customer facing position after how she treated us. terrible service. . I tried to return a blanket that I bought less than 24 hours ago on 11/10 around 3:15pm. it was the wrong color. I wanted it back on a Costco gift card/shop card so I could go back in and purchase the blanket in the correct color. the lady told me that it has to go back to my debit card because of their "new system". I asked her when this new system was implemented because I did this last week for another item and was given a credit on a shop card because it's more convenient when I'm going shopping there and don't have to wait 5-10 business days. She told me they got the new system a couple months ago. I called the South Jordan location to verify and they were completely shocked what I was told. The lady I interact with at the Sandy location was rude, uninformed, and probably needs training as she seemed like a Walmart employee not Costco. Please give that woman more training so she understands policies correctly. Props to South Jordan for fixing Sandy's mistake. read more

First time using Costco for a tires change. Waited over two hours to have two tires placed and they are still not done at this point (my car is still parked where I initially left it)... checked in person several times with the front desk during this waiting period for an ETA of completion given that I was told they would be done in about 1hr 20minutes at the latest. Was forced to pay for an Uber to just now in order to back to work with the continued promise that "my car is next in line." Overall fairly dissatisfied with their service. read more

Do not go to this location! Go to Murray! The staff here is incredibly RUDE! My husband dropped me off at the front door so I could run in and grab pizza. I forgot my card. They said I had to walk all the way around because it was an exit only. I said I forgot my card. I need Togo to customer service. But I have to walk around, where I need a freaking card to get in. From my past experience you don't even need a card to return stuff or go to the food court. This review is for the tire center. I have been a Costco member for nearly 20 years, and unfortunately have had a terrible experience with the tire center this year (winter 2018). We've been trying to get snow tires installed on the family minivan. We purchased them 3 weeks ago from this Costco (in Sandy), and have now had 3 appointments where the snow tires "have not come in". Aside from the lack of professionalism and blatant disregard for your customer's time (a phone call would have been nice - and very easy - and why did I even make an appointment?), this situation has been compounded by 2 major storms that have made driving dangerous for my family. I love Costco and have only had positive experiences in the warehouse, but will likely never purchase tires from Costco again. I know it shouldn't, but this experience has soured us on Costco as a whole and we are going to take a break for a month or two. Who knows - maybe it will actually help our budget - do I really need a 2 gallon tub of peanut butter? read more

I just had the privilege of experiencing an escort to the pharmacy at the Sandy, UT Costco. I don't have a card, but I've been getting my prescriptions filled there for over 5 years. I just go in, show them my prescription paper, and they don't bother me. But, for some reason, the management has decided that I'm a risk, or unwelcome or something. I went to Costco this week, and a very solid-looking lady stopped me at the door and wouldn't let me go to the pharmacy without an escort. I asked why, and they said they didn't want me 'wandering freely around the store'. I told her I had no interest in wandering freely around her store. I just needed my pills. She was unmoved by my pleas to just let me go inside. I had to stand at the front, next to the greeter/bouncer for 15 minutes before a nice man came and got me. I've never been felt so angry and insulted by a company before. I did my best to not abuse the nice young man, and I dropped off my prescription at the pharmacy. I walked over to the offices, and spent the next 20 minutes expressing my feelings to a supervisor and a manager, both of whom were nice-ish. Basically, the way I understand their explanation is this: I'm not a member, so they can be d-bags to me, and I deserve it. If I want them to stop being d-bags, I should become a member. So, it's a new advertising campaign of some kind. I explained that it wasn't working on me. They were sorry I felt that way. I went back to the pharmacy to pick up my pills; then I wandered freely about the store and got 3 of each sample. That made me feel a little better. Part of me never wants to experience the pharmacy escort again, but part of me thinks they're just trying to make it harder for me to get their cheaper meds without a membership. So now I have to go there for everything and waste their escorts' time and eat all their samples. Thanks for letting me express my feelings to you, Internet. read more

I like Costco as this is the place whereby our family does our weekly or biweekly groceries. We found that Costco offer relatively good price and good quality items We loved coming to the one in Sandy (non Utah county), as they also offer alcoholic choices like beers. They also provide good food/drinks trial as you walk across the isle. The only improvement item would be on the contractors serving the testing food/drinks to let the customers have the trials first... I noticed some of contractors, who are not serving that particular stands (other contractors are serving at that time) are blocking some of the customers who would like to try them. read more

This review has been a long time in the making. Words cannot truly express what Costco is. Why anyone would dare give them under 5 stars is beyond me. Let's start with the basics. The food court. It's awesome. All of it....awesome. FYI...cash, debit Amex only. Anything you think you need, Costco probably has. And at a cheaper price with better quality. What's even better is that if it ever breaks you can return it and get a new one. This company stands by what they sell. Although I disagree with returning food products, I have seen members do this so if that is your prerogative then by all means. Customer satisfaction right. I shop at Costco at least 2-3 month. I buy all my produce here because it's usually more fresh than what you get at the supermarket and the portion size is a whole lot more as well. I spend $10 on a box of granola bars with 48 packs where it cost twice as much to get the equivalent elsewhere. The deals are sometimes just too good to beat. Now on the electronics, Costco used to have basically a lifetime warranty on their electronics but that changed in the last few years. Anything you buy is covered with a 90 day return and 2 year warranty. That is better than anything you'll get at other retailers. What I like the most is the peace of mind you get when you buy a product here. No one wants to feel crappy when their new TV breaks just after the normal 1 year warranty expires and then have to get a new one. Is Costco usually busy. Yeah it can be. People say this location is the busiest on a Saturday. That's probably true but I have never spent more than 5-10 minutes in line on the busiest days. It can be busy only because customers circle the lot repeatedly trying to find the closest space near the entrance. A little extra walking never hurt anyone. Anyhow, get a membership here and if you do enough shopping you can upgrade your membership and get rewards cash back. That and everything else I listed should make it all worth it. read more

Costcos are awesome, I think that's a proven fact. This Costco can get pretty crowded on weekends, but they provide with quality items for cheap price and some yummy samples. The food court (you do not need a member id to get in) provides hard-to-beat $1.50 hot dog with drinks and other cheap food. My favorite part of Costco may be the cheap gas. Members get member-exclusive gas price that is usually more than $0.10 cheaper per gallon You won't regret getting a Costco membership especially if you have a big family read more

I enjoy Costco's store and their large selection and friendly staff. However, their tire shop needs some improvement. Purchasing tires is often more than a 2 hour wait. And half the time they don't make the estimated time. Today I went in to get my tires rotated. Even tho there wasn't a car in any of their stalls and no other customers in the waiting area, they told me it would be a hour and half wait. Are the employees required to give these excessive wait times so you'll spend that time shopping in the store? Even making an appointment doesn't help. There doesn't seem to be any way to get you right in and back out in a reasonable amount of time. For me my time is more valuable than the money I'd saved. read more

This Costco is pretty good for the most part. Every time I have been there, the lines were pretty quick and its been an in and out process. This past trip, wasn't so great. My boyfriend and I are a young couple and we also have a three year old daughter. Employees were constantly staring at us with judgy eyes. When my boyfriend approached two employees (whom were just standing around) if they had a product or not, they gave him a hard time. They were constantly giving him a hard time and cracking jokes to each other and overall just being super rude. After we checked out and everything we decided to get something to eat. We ordered a couple hot dogs and a pizza. They were out of ketchup and the line was a bit long, so instead of standing in line to tell them, I just walked up and she was making a couple smoothies but looking to the check out, so I was about to talk and she put her finger up at me and just said, "wait!" The guy who was waiting for that smoothie looked at me in shock of how rude she was. So I just waited and till she was completely done with him. I asked the lady next in line if I could just tell her they were out of ketchup and she was totally cool with it. So as the guy starts walking away, I went to tell her and she looks around me and tells the next lady, "How can I help you?" I just told her, "I just wanted to let you know you guys are out of ketchup." She replied with, "You should have waited in line." So I told her, "I'm not going to wait in this line of ten people to tell you you're out of ketchup." All she said was "K." Another worker from the back came to fill the ketchup and apologized. We will be back, because well it's the only Costco around here, but I definitely think some of the staff needs to be educated on customer service skills. read more
