Thanks Frances for doing your spin on Sams... of all the places I go with regularity, Costco is a weekly trip. I really love our Costco out in the Ar Dub. I fill up my tank, hit the store and say hi to the associates (most of which I recognize now and call by name). I got the spiffy Amex through Costco and get a nice check back from them as well as from Costco adding to its value. So, of my favorite things to buy here, what tops them all is the meat section. USDA Prime Steak. Affordable, GOOD, ground beef. Pork, veal, lamb, sausages, fresh fish, on and on! The butcher staff always willing to cut some more or shift a package around to accommodate. You'd wonder how much you would actually *use* a 12 roll of paper towels, pretty darn often when you have a 8 yr old boy :P. I love to cook so the bulk oils, seasonings all are a great savings. We bought a TV there, XBOX games, Blu Ray discs, clothes, socks, shoes, vacuum cleaner... my gosh it's like Dora's backpack on steroids! The healthier selections is a bonus I think vs. Sams, getting to TASTE them and make better educated decisions definitely helps as well. Above all else, the people working at this location in particular are a chief reason I'll keep coming back. We live about 30 minutes from the nearest grocery store so whenever we find ourselves out in "town" we hit up the Costco for a stocking up session!! Their rotisserie chicken is delicious and we can never pass that up. Also, the hot dog/brat with a drink is like... freakishly cheap and delicious! Their contacts ARE super cheap! They have a pretty good beer/wine selection. I have never had any issues with customer service or store cleanliness. Also.. i want to make sure everyone can see this and know what customer service is being given by Costco in Rockwall , TX. I had made a purchase of a mattress, refrigerator, and two TVs to be delivered to my new property that I purchased. Due to the delay of the completion of the build of our new home Costco would not delay the delivery until the property was ready and insisted on delivering it to our old address. This has been so stressful and a nightmare. It is not my fault for the delay. Now I have a big mess to deal with. BAD customer service and handling of customer situation out of our control. So...I have renewed my membership and use it mostly for gas and prescriptions. I was in the store picking up a prescription so I didn't grab a basket. As typically happens, I found a few things I wanted to buy so I go to check out and all the check out registers have long lines of customers with shopping carts brimming with groceries. So I pick the shortest line with people who have the least amount of stuff and as luck would have it, the cashier and the Spanish-speaking customer embarked on a lengthy conversation in Spanish when all he was buy was some outdoor furniture. You'd think it'd be a pretty fast transaction, but nooooooo. Ten minutes later, still waiting to get checked out and the couple in front of me are also starting to look around and get antsy. I finally asked to speak to a manger and asked why they didn't have an express line for customers that only have 10 items or less. Yes, Costco - customers like me actually do shop at your store with only a few things in their arms and don't make an afternoon excursion of shopping. OPEN AN EXPRESS LANE - EVEN IF IT'S JUST ON THE WEEKEND. Another thing, monitor your restrooms and make sure they're stocked with paper towels. As much as I hate using public restrooms, I had no choice on this occasion and was baffled that there were no paper towels. Just so happened when I walked out, that a worker was standing outside the restrooms with a roll of kitchen towels on a cart wiping down something so I asked if I could have one and started reaching for it and she said, "Oh, no...let me give it to you because you know how they are." And then she commiserated knowing the bathroom was out of paper towels. Such a small detail but something that should not go overlooked, especially with trying to keep your hands clean during flu season. Come on, Costco - get on the ball. read more

We have been members at Costco for over 10 yrs. Went this past Sunday(12.17.23), as we were doing the self check out. We started having issues with the scanner the young lady came over to help. As my husband and I started discussing dinner plans, the young lady starts scanning. We pay the total due, as we are walking out a couple items were missed. Dakota (Supervisor) comes over to help. As he is looking at the items I made the comment to my husband "you should of made sure they scanned everything". Dakota turns around Very Aggressively, asked are you talking to me. I said no I was talking to my husband. As Dakota is walking away he tells a co-worker. I'm trying to help THESE PEOPLE and they are giving me attitude. My husband said no one was giving you attitude. Dakota comes around to walk us to the door like we are some kind of criminals. As he (Dakota) is walking he(Dakota) is literally arguing with my husband. My husband did mention how unprofessional he was being. We have never felt so EMBARRESED and BULLIED as we did there. So as we walk out an older couple stop us, they apologized for they way we we're treated! We will drive 18 miles out of our way to head to Costco in McKinney. Nice but not helpful. They have the worst customer service outside of the returns desk. Not the first time I've had an issue with them about membership but if my husband's name is on the check & all of that matches our membership info why can't I use the check when he's not there? I literally have 20 other things in my purse that all have my name on them. This is the worst run shop in all of the metroplex. The upfront man is condescending and if you dare to ask him when your car will be ready he will add another hour to your time. I don't care how much money you save on tires, it is not worth it. We had a 2pm appointment and had it there by 1pm. He made sure we did not get out of there until 5pm. I know it's because when we gave him the key FOB we asked him if he knew which car it was. He looked at us like we were dumbasses, rolled his eyes and said "what, I can't just click this button". I went to the Rockwall, Tx location and was stopped at the door and was very rudely told I had to wear a mask they tried to hand me a mask that THEY had put into a ziplock bag .. My elderly widowed mother went to the tire center to get the air checked in her tire and aired up if needed. The gentleman to her to do it herself. She has never done this before, she dropped the cap under the car, put some air in and left. She called me so upset, she had no idea what she was doing, or if she had done anything right or not. I love this location. Props to the employees for keeping it clean and keeping everyone masked up. Our toddler has an autoimmune disease and hadn't left the house in over a year during Covid. We have been so worried to bring home germs during all of this and bribing her out has been out of the question. This place is so clean and the employees are very attentive with corporate mask rules. I have always been a long time Costco fan, I got my membership when they open their 1st one on 75. But was so excited that Rockwall finally open theirs. I am spoiled with their customer services and Tire dept are wonderful. I didn't really know how much better Costco was until a friend of mine took me to Sam to get some food for our office party. Their gas station have no one there so people were driving all weird ways then when we need customer service we had to wait in line for 20 minutes since they had like 2 people working. Yes I know some time they have things that Costco doesn't or the other way around but I know Costco always have the better quality and products. To me Sam feels like a bigger Walmart. Thank God for Costco. The atmosphere at Sam is not as great as Costco, I will be a Costco's membership for life read more

Love shopping here. Great selection of clothes and products. The people working there are super friendly and helpful. The food is the best. We love the food samples and have started buying many of them regularly. Two problems. The chicken pot pie and the birthday cake are too big for regular size family. If you think you will get the advertised price at this Costco, think again. They had a mattress I needed, their advertised price was $439. I got one, took it up front and they tried to charge me $499. I told them about the advertisement, three different people told me, "that might be for a different store", I showed them it was for Rockwall. They still insisted they couldn't let me have it for that price. They were more determined to take that extra $60. I told them to shove that mattress where the sun doesn't shine, and that I would go to Sam's. They were perfectly fine with losing a $500 sale to a competitor. Today I had another appointment and waited in line 20 minutes(no joke 20 minutes) when I finally got up there I ask the guy how long it would take. He said 1 hour and 15 minutes. I have shopped at this Costco for months since moving to the area. I was comparison shopping for BIG TICKET items refrigerator, 85" tv, washer/dryer between Lowe's, HomeDepot, Nebraska and Costco. I had passed through the door to show your card, spoken to Payton (amazing) in electronics and had been pleasantly greeted by several other employees. Decided to get a beverage before I hit the aisles to cont shopping. I was verbally accosted by a dark red haired employee who asked me where my mask was and practically threw one at me!!! Remember I had not been requested to wear one at ANY POINT prior to her at the check out stands/food area. Texas is not mandated but she yelled at me that it is required to be in that Costco store!!! I simply stated that I would leave and take my business with me. I left and immediately called the corporate office. We're not really the Costco going sort of folk. Being a family of just four souls, Etienne and I plus two kitty babies, we simply don't have the need for 14 chicken's worth of chicken breasts or 4 packs of bread loaves. We hemm'ed and haww'ed for awhile, but finally decided to get a Costco membership for those non-perishable items we can stock up on. We've found definitely make our money (er, save our money?) on bottled water, wine, paper towels, beer, Pellegrino, wine, Perrier, beer, cat litter, wine, books and magazines... and wine! The only real downside for being a Costco family is that we've found we live in the neighborhood of Dallas that is a sort of black hole of big box stores, especially Costco stores. Using the handy dandy store locator, I've learned our house is pretty much 15 miles from every location in Dallas. Dammit. For that fact, we've tried all 5 locations and I've found we really like this location best. It's less crowded than some locations, cleaner than others, parking seems better, people seem friendlier. The "children" working the cart sanitation were so unprofessional and did NOT exhibit the Costco experience that I'm used to or that the rest of the staff provide. They need more training because just squirting the sanitary spray over the carts like you're watering grass does not help anyone and is a complete waste of time. Costco is better than this. I cant say much more than my fellow yelper friends David and Kevin already did. I like the optometrist and the eye glass department, the ladies there are really nice and you save a ton of money on contacts. The latte freeze for 1.85 cant be beat and is a must have for my random sweet tooth ( it always randomly shows up at Costco, ha). I like to get extra samples by telling them its for my daughter when I know she wont even blink twice at my offering. Then I eat it and feel like a bad-ass lawbreaking rebel. No shame. Being a first time dad, I was happy to find that the kirkland brand wipes and diapers work well for my newly acquired beautiful little poop and pee factory, she even came with a pink bow! The box actually lasted for a month instead of five hours. I bought a pc from them and even though it is messing up, I have a two year warranty built into the price, so know I get it fixed for free, no hassle from warranty dept. whatsoever. The eggs are 1.75 for 18 and they are the largest, most beautifully tight, golden yolks I have ever seen (didn't know eggs could be that sexy). I love the kirkland brand contact solution, cheese pizzas, cheese raviolis and malabar pepper, all are way above average in flavor and such a great value, yes even the contact solution (its tastes salty). My absolute favorite thing about costco however happens to be going to the Jon and finding real honest to god 3 ply toilet paper, son of a bitch that makes me happy. Tried to get a flu shot there two days ago they were advertising them at the front entrance - I waited for 25 minutes no one else in line. Then I grabbed a slice of pizza in the store while I waited for another 10 minutes. Went back still no one serving me!!!!! Got a refund and left. Who doesn't love costco? So this is the first costco i've ever been to with NO GAS LINES!!! Yes, everytime i've gotten gas here the last month - NO LINES! AND the gas guy that is on duty is always so nice and greets every driver! Additionally, it is always easy to find parking here, no need to signal and wait for a family to load up the groceries, the baby, etc. I like how this costco has the person checking your membership card at the door also have shopping carts for you, so you don't have to pull one from the (hot) outside. They always have one ready for you as you get in. I was actually expecting to see more"texas" items at this costco, but it carried the normal everyday items just with more meet items. I was expecting to see firearms everywhere, but that wasn't the case. I must say this costco has GREAT FOOD SAMPLES! Yesterday i went and they were giving 1/3 size steak flauta with a generous portion of guacamole! YUM! All their samples are very generous. i like how they aren't cheap with the samples. It's smart on their side, people buy more after sampling their items. CHECKING OUT: How many costcos have you been to and the line is zig-zagged around and you don't even know where the line ends? NOT HERE! they always have enough registers open AND a person helping you put your groceries on the conveyor belt - just like at TJs! No need to lift a finger! LOVE IT! they also have a self-checkout lane if you want to ring up your own items. COSTCO HOTDOG: so the saying goes..."everything is bigger in texas" IT SURE IT! i ordered a polish dog and it is 1/4lb PLUS INDEED. From my home, it's 11.18 miles to the East Plano location, 12.12 miles to the West Plano location and 15.31 miles to the Rockwall location. The extra miles are worth the better shopping experience. The other two locations are always so PACKED with people. The Rockwall location lends itself to a more relaxed, enjoyable outing. read more

We were members of another club for more than a decade, and were always frustrated with the service and the cleanliness of the various warehouses. One time I heard an associate say, "time to stop helping people, let's close up" and another time as I walked up to the store 10 minutes before they closed I got a stern talking to from the front door associate. So when we joined Costco we were in shock at HOW NICE both the associates and the facilities were. We showed up 20 min before close (apparently our forte) to sign up for a membership and were given golden treatment through the facility. The associates were organized, the aisles were clean and stocked, and the options were great. Since then we've had positive experiences each time. There always seem to be TWO associates checking out each customer, which makes the check out process so smooth and speedy. I went back to the other warehouse twice before our membership lapsed. No going back. We travel 15-ish Miles to shop Costco, without a second thought. The other warehouse is ONE MILE from our home and not worth our time. read more

When we first joined it seemed like worthwhile savings but not so much now, depending on what we're there for. Big plus are the sufficiently manned check-out counters--until you have to wait in line to get out of place. EVERYONE leaving has their receipt checked against what is in their cart. Another aggravating thing is that they are always moving thing around. It has gotten better (due to complaints?) but I have never gone I to the Rockwall Costco's and found all of the things I was looking for in the same place as the last time. Oh Costco, you almost have everything I need. Snacks, juice, steaks, chicken, you have it. Good array of fragrant samples to lure me in different directions. Cheap but enormous portion of ice cream on a waffle cone, slice of pizza size of my face, and other treats. What's not to like about costco? ? Employees are always nice but only once did I get questionable service. That time tho, it was my fault for not being prepared. Anyways. I suggest coming here on weekdays bc it's crazy packed during weekends. Parking is no problem but waiting to be checked out maybe a chore. When it is your turn, employees are super quick and put your belongings in the cart almost in a tetris way. They are pros for sure! My family comes here to buy frozen fruit, eggs which are SUPER cheap, meats like rib eye steaks, whole chickens, wine, and other breakfast ish snacks. Also, they have nice home goods. They also have nice knives and those huge cup tumblr that's similar to the yeti cups. I might have left my spot to go get the last items listed lol. Oh, medicine like vitamins and allergy are priced cheaper despite not being generic. Which reminds me that they seem to have nice makeup and skincare items as well. Be prepared to look around! If you lack a membership, just ask to buy a cash card which is essentially a gift card and use that. Or look on Groupon or living social for new membership discounts! Costco is Costco. You come to buy stuff in bulk and get deals on high dollar items. The quality and variety tends to be better that Sams Club but it is a Warehouse Store. You get what you expect. The staff here in Rockwall have been helpful as well. No real complaints. read more
