It is very busy here. Once you see the parking lot you'll realize that you'll be either parking in the back or waiting forever for someone to leave their spot. All Costco stores are not made equal. 2 days in a row at the DNT Plano, TX location, 2 older ladies flagged me to go out and prove I am a member on the other side because I wanted to go to the tire center. As i was waiting in the tire center for service, I watched a lot of people walk in without question. I guess I am easily noticed. Even with a return the second time, that I have to go out and prove I am a member, then come back. The question is why me? If it's that important, maybe they need a scanner at the exit for customer service and the tire center. If I didn't know any better, I would have been offended. Additionally, the workers tone was harsh and unfriendly both days. Sam's and Wal-Mart greeters are better. read more

I am an avid Costco shopper. I love this franchise and most of their branded Kirkland products are pretty awesome. It is very rare that I dislike a product made by Costco. I frequented this branch location every other week for the past 4 years. The cashiers are always polite and helpful. Their optical department has a pretty decent selection for eyewear at affordable prices. Really love how clean and organized everything is at this location. When the pandemic began back in March, Costco was one of the few places that mandated that their employees and customers wear face masks. It was the ONLY reason I chose to shop there over other grocery stores at that time. I appreciate how they treat their customers. Their return policy is also really forgiving. This is great because sometimes when you buy in bulk you don't necessarily get to use that product for some time, and when you finally do, you may not like it and want to return it. I have never had any problems doing so at this location. Lots of parking available. Pretty busy on weekends but that is to be expected. They have really great sales every week so it is good to check the bulletin ahead of time before you shop. I recommend this branch to anyone who is interested in shopping at a Costco!!! Upon walking in, this place seemed like an upscale Sam's club. I say that because the exterior was clean and well kept and the parking lot looked like a fine car sales lot. We went in to find the customer service area to get a membership. We stood for a good twenty minutes waiting to speak with someone. What's even worse was we were the only people in line. The people working were piddling around and there was only one true worker doing something. The man who helped us spoke to us in a tone as if we were morons. Not to mention he worked very slow. He seemed to get annoyed when we asked questions about the membership. The store itself is massive. They have a good amount of items. Some items you'll still want to get from the grocery store. Be sure to check prices. Some of their items are more expensive than the grocery store for the same item count. This is a great place to go to get party items (plates, cups, napkins, etc). They also sell massive bags of dog food at a decent price! Staff is scarce so make sure you ask someone your question at the front door. Otherwise you'll spend an hour trying to find an employee to ask. Overall this is a decent place and since I purchased the membership I'll for sure return. read more

This used to be my favorite Costco but after today, I probably won't go again. The person manning the self check registers was kind enough to scan everything for me but forgot the box of K-cups. the guy at the door made a big deal of ME not ringing it up (even though I told him repeatedly that it was the employee) and tried to send me to membership services to have it rung up. By then, there were about 8 carts behind me in line AND a line at membership services. I left him with the coffee and walked out with the other stuff but am very unhappy since I needed that item the most. Why in the world would they not just let me have it or enable the people at the door to ring it up???? VERY poor customer service - including their appliance delivery people who refused to connect a refrigerator (until they were tipped) just a few months ago. read more

I recently became a Costco member in Feb 2016 after many years at SAMS mainly due to my wife nagging me to make the switch due to the variety of organic products and other stuff she thought were better here. I really wish I could give this store a better rating but after being here twice, I'll stick to this review. The Bad: ---------- The parking is just ridiculous if you come over the weekends, over lunch, or after work. You are better off parking in the furthest parking spot and take the long walk to the building. If you are lucky, you may find a spot close to the building. Long lines at the checkout - Can they just get some self-service kiosks? Doesn't make sense waiting in a long line when you just have a few items that you can quickly scan using a self check-out kiosk like some competitors have. Employees gotta cheer up and be more customer friendly. First time I came here, NONE of the four employees I interacted with even smiled or acknowledged me and I'm a really easy going guy. When I came by the second time, I made a point of counting how many employees I walked by, smiled at, or interacted with who didn't even care about acknowledging me. I passed by and interacted with about 6 employees, from Zach the cashier, the employees at the free sample stations, and Bill the guy who checks your receipts as you leave. Didn't even get a 'hi' or 'can I help you.' Seriously! Their standard food items are overpriced compared to the competitors. I always have a specific list of things to shop in bulk and I've had a hard time finding the brands that I usually purchased at other stores, for example, baby wipes. I ended up purchasing the Costco's Kirkland Signature private label wipes which was almost the same price as Pampers, but the quality was lacking. They have a lot of things that have been private labeled and for a Coscto newbie like me, I had to get used to this branding since I was more in tune with the real brands. I read some reviews here and I agree with a few of the Yelpers who felt some customers here have an entitlement mentality and rude behavior. Most that I saw are older, and I had an experience of standing in a long line for checkout and having a couple cut me off without even excusing themselves. I also had one older guy grab my cart when I had parked it to get something off a shelf and he refused to hand it back to me, telling me to "take a hike and get my own!" Also had someone push a cart into my ankles and all they said when I looked at them was, "Could you move a little faster?" WTH! The Good: ------------ Good variety of organic products. I've been to this location a couple times for groceries and gas. Best points are customer service and product selection. Navigating enormous consumerist Costco stores can sometimes be overwhelming since there are no labels for what is in each aisle, but the staff have unfailingly and accurately helped me find very specific items. Maybe the disorganization is an intentional marketing strategy to keep people in stores longer. On a positive note, they have a growing selection of vegan friendly items and foods that cater to more diverse customers. I was able to buy a ton of mooncakes last minute for mid-Autumn festival when all other Asian stores were completely sold out. I have had mixed experiences at the gas station. I'm used to expecting long lines especially on weekday evenings at Costco gas stations, so this is ordinary. What bothers me is that refueling should be easy, yet a quarter of the time, some pumps just aren't able to fuel reliably, and I have to try different pumps which is something that I've never experienced at other gas stations. read more

One of my favorite places to shop, great products, great prices and for the most part great employees. I'm shopped at numerous Costco locations and they are pretty consistent with making me happy. With that said every once in a while we do get a bad cashier / cashiers assistant, an example would be On a few different occasions now I have had to explain to an employee why it is you do not stack Ready-to-Eat items on top of raw meat. You think they would cover that in some kind of training but I am beginning to wonder. Another example would be not being able to bag my stuff in my reusable bags. If they can stick my stuff in a box they should be able to stick my stuff in reusable bags that I brought myself. What is the difference between a bag and a box? do keep in mind I don't know if the whole not being able to use my reusable bags is an actual policy or just something an employee said to not have to do it. With that said their employees and standards are nine thousand times better than any given Walmart On their best day. Costco for the win read more

I never thought I would leave a one star for Costco but for the Tire center, they well deserve it. I purchased a set of tires about 8 months ago with all the Costco discounts, Warranty offered , etc .... I own a car that has wider tires in the back than the front. It's also considered sports package. Since Sep 2023, I have aligned the car twice at the dealership and having owned the same type of cars for the last 15 years, they don't require rotation. Yesterday, I had a very small leak in the back tire so I took it to the warehouse to take advantage of many wonderful things they offer you when purchasing the tire. They come back to tell me that not only they won't repair the tire due to low thread count, all other warranties are voided because I did not rotate the tires. I explained to them that these type of sporty tires do not require rotation and both Discount tire and the dealership honor that except Costco. They also refused to give me mileage warranty (Only 8K added) due to the same reason. I want to know why costco forces their own policy (Not the tire company) to rotate your tire regardless of the car or else, everything is off the table. Since then, Discount tire has offered me Mileage credit and do not require rotation for my tires because they are in tire business. My biggest regret now is having moved away from discount tire after 20 years because of these baseless & false warranty, repairs, free stuff costco offers but at the end of the day, the consumer is screwed and they know darn well, they won't have to honor and backup what they sell people for these stupid policies. read more

It's the asshat swiping receipts at the door that needs to go. Three time now, THREE TIMES, the old white guy that was working there last night has intentionally reached around me to grab the receipt of the person behind me. I was next in line! I had my receipt almost in your face! But no, you reach around past me, MORE THAN ONCE, and say "I'll be with you folks in a minute". Yeah, well, one time you reached past me three times, making me wait five minutes. Then you proceeded to yell at me when I got tired of your bullshit and tried to leave. A lot different in many ways than Sam's Club. Great deals at both stores, but I love the sales and clearance area. Love the friendliness! Shoutout to Theresa that helped me out in clothing. She works the morning shift and will be able to clock out in a couple hours, but she took her time to give me her personal attention while she stayed busy folding clothes. I love that there are more speciality foods available here than at Sam's Club. I have specific nutritional needs and it is a great place for shopping gluten-free or whatever! Nice produce display and quality! I have always gotten nice fruits and veggies. The fish quality is superb and I was able to buy trout and shrimp that feed us like we were royalty! I knew that buying better quality food actually was worth my better health... but I didn't know it could taste so good!! The cooking demonstrations/samples are so yummy! 3/8/2021 - 99.5% of the time one can always expect to receive great member service from a Costco employee. This review requires me to give a "HIGH FIVE" to an employee by the name of Sepehr. While in line to pay for my items I observed the following - for whatever reason the check-out process for the member ahead of me required the members signature on a piece of paper. The paper was slipped underneath the plexiglass and then I noticed Sepehr disinfecting a pen just before handing it to the member for signature. Costco and countless other merchants have posted what actions they are taking to ensure the health and safety of their employees, members, customers, etc., so to watch Sepehr take the extra step to disinfect a pen deserves a shout out. May seem like a small gesture to some but for those of us who occasionally forget to throw the pen in the handbag and have had to rely on a community pen are grateful for those like Sepehr whose effortless actions are appreciated. No good deed goes unnoticed. read more

I was standing in line for self checkout for about 10 minutes and it turns out I was in the incorrect line for self checkout along with the other 3 people in front of us. So, as me and my black sister proceeded in the self checkout line with only three items the male told us we couldn't check out because we weren't in the proper line. But the other people were okay at self checkout. I told him that I apologize but I've been standing in line for 10 minutes can I just check out because we just have 3 items, he told us no. It was very unprofessional, and he lacked problem solving skills, but most importantly he did not have the skills to talk to guest. DO NOT WASTE YOURE TIME AT THIS ESTABLISHMENT. I've never had a bad experience with Costco... until I came here. I'm not coming back to this location. The Costcos I used to go to had fresh food (WAY better quality) and nicer staff members. During my last few visits, we got food that makes me question the management of this location. I don't think they're doing enough to keep up with the quality that members expect from Costco. The cereal we got was stale. We brought home cheese that had mold. One rotisserie chicken was completely raw inside. The rest of the food, we noticed after bringing it home, they were very close to expiring. Oddly, we got Sun Chips that had a ton of signs saying it's almost expiring (2 months). But everything else was expiring in a few days/weeks and didn't have signs. If they do that with one item, shouldn't they do that with the others? I still have the same complaints about their customer service. The staff is still busy fraternizing with each other. No one is helpful. I've only had one friendly cashier.
