Another benefit of having a Costco card is the ability to get gas at a greater discount then the surrounding stations. Generally the gas is about 10 cents cheaper for regular or premium. I have never been here when there weren't any lines. Nice thing is they move quickly because there is no food to entice customers. Availability of the attendants is hit or miss. Usually it's a miss for that one lone person that can't figure out how to pay at the pump. Unfortunately that's usually the line I'm stuck in. read more

Edit: Down to one star for rude staff. I've been a longstanding customer of Costco, and it disappoints me to see how much their customer service quality has dropped as of late. The biggest issue is question is centered around their in-house cafe, where I had gone to order a large vegetable pizza. I paid in full and waited to pick it up for a total of 45 minutes. I repeatedly asked about the order, following which the cashier would take my receipt away for 2-3 minutes and return telling me it was still being made. After the long wait I finally had my brother ask them if the pizza had even been put in, to which the cashier simply apologized and told him that it had not been. After some confusion a refund was made. It's understandable to lose an order in the system, but to blatantly lie to the customer is a different matter. This, coupled with witnessing an employee push people aside in line without any apology, to make their own order was simply shocking. For those that aren't familiar with cattle feedlots a feedlot or feed yard is a type of animal feeding operation (AFO) which is used in intensive animal farming, notably beef cattle, but also swine, horses, sheep, turkeys, chickens or ducks, prior to slaughter. Large beef feedlots are called concentrated animal feeding operations (CAFO) in the United States and intensive livestock operations (ILOs) or confined feeding operations (CFO) in Canada. They may contain thousands of animals in an array of pens. The basic principle of the feedlot is to increase the amount of muscle gained by each animal as quickly as possible; if animals are kept in confined quarters rather than being allowed to range freely over grassland, they will gain weight quicker and more efficient with the added benefit of economies of scale. If you shop at Costco because you like some of their products but dread going there because of the shopping experience with crowds of rude customers and rude employees this is why you hate it. The Costco business is modeled after the feedlot concept. Customers are herded into the crowded pen (warehouse) and fattened up with items sold in bulk. The store employees (cowpokes) herd the customers (cattle or beaves) to checkout where they slaughter their bank account. Then you're (carcas) herded to the exit where the checker (meat inspector) makes sure you didn't steal anything. If you have a love/hate relationship with Costco this is why. So if you don't mind being treated like like a beef cow being led to the slaughter I guess the pain may be worth the gain. read more

Haven't been to Costco in a couple of years. They upsell you an an "executive membership plan" and harass you during checkout. Not worth it unless you spend more than $3K per year. A couple years ago, they were hawking credit cards at checkout. Very annoying! Just let me pay for my stuff and go, don't harass me with a sales pitch. Will be canceling membership: it's hard to get in and out of parking lot, store is alway crowded, checkout lines are long and slow, no app checkout like Sam's, staff not nearly as friendly as Sam's. All in all a hugely inconvenient and time-consuming place to go. read more

We have shopped here for years and always find something we need. Most of the time we leave with more than we went in to get because if you see it now, they might not have it later. Most items we shop for are good items that they nearly always carry, but other items like clothes, we pick up when they have the size of item we need. This store is nearly always busy so get in early to get out early. read more

Your typical Costco. They are always super busy especially on the weekends. I go here for a few things. I wish they carried certain things that they have online in the stores. This is the absolute worst Costco I have ever been to. No the products themselves. Everything we have gotten has been great. It's the PEOPLE!! Mass amounts of people!! Yes, I know, that is what Costco wants and that's ultimately how they make bank. It's just not for me! I love going to Costco and getting to try samples of things that I might want to buy. Good luck EVER getting a sample. Bodies of people hover over the stands and the second a sample is put down, it's gone. Unless you want to wait 20 minutes to get a sample and be run over by the other hundreds of shoppers barreling by, you won't get to try anything. There is seriously no "right time" to go. Always packed like sardines which makes getting around super frustrating. Cart rage to the max! I am not a crowd kind of person. I like to have my own personal space and not get run over while trying to pick a loaf of bread. However, I have now found another Costco in another part of town that isn't as hectic and I enjoy shopping at. If you are not a fan of anything I said above, find another location. read more

Returned an air hockey table that broke down after a week of use. They wanted the whole thing brought back to the store even though it literally isn't even manufactured anymore nor sold by Costco any longer. Whatever. Loaded it up and brought it back then they stated they needed ALL of the pucks. As if they are not going to just throw it away. If you've ever been to Costco in Hawaii you probably know they have something there that isn't found at Costco on the mainland. Poke. COSTCO PLANO HAS POKE NOW. I REPEAT: THEY HAVE POKE!!!!!! We grabbed a pound and a half of spicy ahi and ahi wasabi and are happy to report it tastes just as good as it does in Hawaii. I was told that they make it daily (Thurs, Fri and Sat) and toss any out that isn't sold by the end of the day so you're always guaranteed to get a fresh bowl... as long as they haven't sold out. I know poke is getting popular in North Texas but all the trendy places I see are the same. A giant bowl of sides with five pieces of fish on top. Meh. Try this instead. read more

UPDATE Nov 2020. We have shopped at several locations spring/summer of 2020. On last visit we elected to get a Costco VISA credit card. Check their offering for details. Today's visit while buying gas the staff advised me that the CostCo card is touch enabled at pump. Just wave it location on pump. Also the card doubles as membership card and is good for entry and start of check out. Two card functions in one. Spring 2020.Don't be concerned about the virus crises at this store. Lots of preventive measures taking place including requiring all customers to mask up. See photos. Extra plus was most helpful mobile phone rep who explained features and benefits of phone I am thinking to buy. He helped me focus on what was important. Good for him. For now if you go through self-check out lanes the staff will scan your items in cart. No need to take them out of the cart. In regular check lanes the more you can leave in cart bar code up will save time. Scan and go. read more

Costco... Bring your wallet... I've been coming to Costco for years. I could say my reason is to buy in bulk, but truth is, I typically walt the entire store whenever I shop here looking for new things to buy. It's membership based, so you must buy a Costco card to shop here. They were one of the first stores I've seen to enforce the receipt checking at the door. This has saved millions of dollars in loss prevention over the years. This location has a liquor store attached recently, you can buy good booze cheaper that most other locations. They have great meat and vegetables as well. Parking can be a pain, so when I shop here, I park really far and make sure I wear my fitbit so I can count the steps... LOL Shopping here can be an hour easily since it's a warehouse and I like to see what's new. It's funny how Costco works for me; I walk in for toilet paper and leave with a Vitamix Blender. I come here for coffee and leave with a couch for the playroom. The furniture I've purchased at Costco is always great quality. Not to mention you can sit on it and test durability in the warehouse. I find that even though the lines seem long, they work hard to keep the customers moving and always have a great attitude. The television and electronics section is hard for most men to walk past, there's always a good deal on a Samsung or Vizio television. Around Christmas it gets crowded, but if you like to get your shopping done early, Costco is great for buying awesome toys at low prices. It's hard to to describe the Costco experiences except to say that they have something for everyone. We try to buy anything in bulk we are able since you realize the savings pretty quickly. They offer quality and back up everything they sell. We try to plan at least two trips a month to Costco for bulk items, then local grocery for the rest. You'd be amazed how much you save on daily consumables buying at Costco. I'm not a Walmart fan and I'm not a Sam's Club fan, those stores rub me the wrong way for a multitude of reasons, so Costco has always been and will always be my go to bulk store. read more

This place is busy everyday no matter what day its open. Also be prepared to be in little asia central as there are a lot of asians that love to shop here. I go here for the meats when I feel like its time to get that smoker up and running. If you've been to a Costco, then this one is no different. What's not to love about Costco? They have everything here. From food, beauty products, pharmacy, clothes, gas, electronics...seriously, everything!! It's a one stop shop. Like Sam's club, it is exclusive for members only. $55 per year for a standard membership. Their own brand, Kirkland Signature is pretty legit. They have a great 24hrs Fitness membership deal for $350 for 2 years. That's less than $15 a month. Though everything is in bulk and cost more upfront, but if you do the math it is cheaper overtime. There's plenty of samples around the store on the weekend. I love trying the samples. The food court has cheap and decent food, but it's cash only. For $1.50, you can get a 1/4 pound hot dog-soda combo, and $2 for the pizza combo. Gas is also cheaper and better here. It's not Quick Trip or Race Track quality gas. Thanks God! This location is always busy on the weekend. The only thing annoying about Costco is their method of payment. They only accept check, cash, debit and American Express card. Yes I went in on a Saturday evening, very busy from 5 -6 pm. As I needed to change or replace my battery for my van. Shelby a great person he let me borrow the tools so I can change my own battery. They trust you with tools. It means a lot during these times. Thanks again for letting me use tools to change my battery and got new one replaced as it was under 2 years old. What weekend is complete without lunch at the Costco food court? There are so many high-quality, low-cost items on the menu that I often wish I had a bigger stomach. I recommend going with a friend so you can split items and get more variety. My favorite things on the menu are the 1/4lb Hebrew National hot dog with fountain drink, cheese pizza, and hand-dipped ice cream bar. I swear this place has the best fountain coke I've had anywhere. The syrup to carbonated water ratio is perfect! The over-sized vanilla ice cream bar is a dipped in melted milk chocolate and chopped almonds. They don't check for Costco membership at the food court so you don't need to be member to enjoy (just walk in through the exit past the customer service area). If you're still hungry after the food court, you can always eat samples on the warehouse floor. They also sell a giant rotisserie chicken for five bucks. Cons: Churro is not very impressive (too doughy). You have to ask for the red pepper and Parmesan cheese packets. Cash only. read more

I have been a Costco member for many years. I love everything about it. (Minus the crazy crowds on the weekends) They have great quality products at amazing prices. The meat and seafood section always delivers fresh items. I just have to separate and freeze each portion at home since everything comes in bulk. But it is worth it because the price point and freshness is great. The food samples are plentiful. I believe they start around noon. This is a great perk because you get to snack as you shop! I find many new and great finds trying out the samples. Your gonna wanna look for the seasonal items because it can be limited and they sell out fast. I bought 3 fake orchid plants. They look so real I get lots of compliments on them. They were only $25! What a deal! I tried to go back for more but it was sold out. So don't hesitate if you find something cute. I also found a really soft king size faux fur blanket $20!! Great quality I've washed it many times and it is still soft as ever and intact. The return policy is amazing! It's basically a return whenever you want policy. They don't hassle or nit pick about returns either. It's easy to look up items through your account so it's not necessary to have the receipt. I have the confidence of purchasing everything at Costco. The food court also has great deals on food! Large portions and they all taste delicious. My favorite is the chicken bake. You can also order a full size pizza ahead of time if your having a party. So if don't have one already get yourself a membership because the perks and deals you get is amazing!! read more

If I could make this zero stars I would. My sisters and I were disrespected and belittled on 12/9 by a cashier and what we believe to be a manger. As I have only been in this store twice, at the checkout the manager proceeded to make an example of us by stating really loudly the policy of not sharing my only membership. My sisters were trying out this store and considering getting their own but wanted to have their own experience. This guy embarrassed us. Then the cashier threw our stuff on the belt and again loudly stated the store didn't take anything but Visa. She then started over talking my handicap sister as if she was stupid and said the store gets their money from members not sales. We paid and she proceeded to talk about us as we walked away. I will NOT renew my membership and my sisters have refused to step in another Costco. We will be going to Sam's club. I hope they retrain their staff about diversity and common customer service. I was certain I'd written a review of this Costco at some point, but I sure don't see it. Anyway, those of you familiar with Costco know the drill: Buy a lot of stuff (either a lot of normal sized containers, or a ginormous container or two), save money. My rule, though, is: Don't buy something that you'll use more of just because you HAVE more of it. For example: toilet paper is an excellent Costco buy. You're going to use it at the same rate no matter what. The 48 oz container of chocolate covered almonds, on the other hand, will quickly become about a 3 or 4 serving size, and before you know it, you're wearing those suckers on your hips. But I digress. This location features a fuel station south of the store, optometrist, tire service, pharmacy etc. It's laid out in (what I call) the "normal" configuration. with checkouts on the right as you walk in, and merchandise on the left. This store is always impeccably clean, almost always well stocked, and full of friendly people (have you ever seen an unhappy looking Costco employee? I haven't. How do they do that?). Finding a "buddy" to share multi-packs is a great idea, especially for perishables. Their Kirkland house brand is usually quite good on almost every product I've tried. This is one of my favorite places to shop, but you have to shop wisely. And don't forget: Other than certain Amex cards, they do NOT take credit cards; it's debit card or cash. Love the closeness to my home. Consistency should be maintained in asking customers to show their cards at the entrance. I observed a couple hand in hand walk through and they were not asked for their card. I was struggling with my little one on one hand and the cart with the other and was stopped and asked to show my card. I doubt that the lady right behind me was asked. I am the duke of Costco here in Austin and I'm sure if I was living in Dallas, I would make this Costco mine. I can't say enough good things about Costco. They have the best warranty and return policies along with some super cheap (yet delicious) food. Instead of ordering a pizza from a chain next time, try getting their large pizza's to go. $10 for a huge pizza loaded with toppings. Other than the food, the quality of everything they sell is great too. I shop at Costco almost once a week and sometimes I just like going in and walking around to see what kind of things they have on sale. The gas is almost always cheaper at Costco too than any other gas station you can find and their gas is not sub-par by any means. Even Ferrari's fill up here. If you fill up here almost exclusively like I do, you'll save enough money in a year to get back more than what you paid for your membership. read more

I always love going to Costco. The big sizes, the samples, the variety from TVs to a gallon of ketchup. This is a well maintained store and always clean and well stocked. Sometimes they could open a few more registers, but usually the wait is not too bad. As with most stores of this kind though, pay attention to what you buy, because not everything is cheaper in the big sizes. read more

There are a number of differences - the main one being the fact that the location on Dallas Parkway has hand held scanners at self checkout. They should be at every single store because it makes the checkout process much easier for the customer and keeps things moving faster. I will go a little bit further out of my way to go to the Dallas Parkway location in Plano over the N. Central Expressway location. read more
