This review is specifically for the bakery. I ordered a birthday cake for my nephew a week ago, and they wrote the wrong name on it. When I asked them to correct it, they blame the error on my writing and simply wrote over the original name with the wrong color icing. The woman who had decorated the cake, was very rude, and I will never order anything from them again. read more

I am an old time Costco stock holder and customer. I often bragged about Costco reputation for being respectful to their employees and how that showed on how the employees treated the customers and how it translated into a higher stock price. Recently, I changed my opinion, my client's loyalty and I am selling my stock. I overheard a Costco Manager verbally abusing his staff requesting to "get your axx here!!" over the radio. I looked into it and I asked one of the employees. The answer I received came right out of what I would expect from a Wal-Mart employee or worse: "Costco is changing and this is how they are treating their employees. We are the only non-union store and 95% of the employees are part time and hours cut" the voice and demeanor communicated a very low morale and it showed why this employee was not as excited to lend a hand to a customer in need. In short, everything that made me invest and shop at Costco was gone. Selling my shares tomorrow. read more

If the Mall is for teenyboppers to hang out, Costco is for us. There are lot of things to do in Costco other than buy wholesale, low price, interesting items and food. Number 1, Food samples. I come usually in the afternoon when they sample out some food for us to taste. Fair warning not to leave your child unattended when doing so. Number 2, If you need a great massage and going inside the mall to have your back rub is such a hassle... then go to Costco. Just be considerate enough that other people have sore back that need to be relieved. Number 3... the books. Im still saving for my next Kindle but for now, I go to Costco to sample out some pocket books from great writers. Lastly... if you want to kill time... GO TO COSTCO. read more

What can you say about Costco? Love it. Whatever you need you can find it here. Everything is sold mostly in bulk so you will always have plenty and seems that you will never run out of whatever your buying. You do need to be a member to shop here but you also get good deals on s lot of items. read more

Okay...before hitting the resort we needed to pick up some 'refreshments'. (aka grub) This Costco has the best WINE selection of any Costco I have been to. A number of wines rated over 90!. Always good prices on other beverages......wasn't that crowded...(went through the line in 5 minutes!) and a great place to refuel 'gas' before heading back to LA. I just moved to La Quinta from LA so we have been making numerous trips to the store. In general the store is clean and the associates have all been extremely nice. The reason for the one star is directed to the HR department. I spent an hour and a half filling out an application on line. I have not received even a email confirmation that they received it.. read more

My husband and I needed a new car battery while we were headed home to the Phoenix area. We didn't know they wouldn't install it for us, but the manager did lend us the tools we needed and helped us out! Also the customer service staff was very helpful in assisting us with our return of the old one (which was still under warranty). Thanks to all the Costco staff that helped us out! read more

Went to Costco to get some of our favorites, like Kirkland oven roasted sliced turkey breast, 3 pack. Looked all around and finally stopped an employee and asked where it was. Was told that they no longer carry. WHAT!!!!!!!! Heart healthy turkey. Was to fill out form by exit, which I did, but seems that manager is not reading as box was full and I had to shove my complaint down. What's the point if you don't empty box every evening and read the complaints. Very disappointed. This product was moved about a year ago to a different location so it was difficult to find. Visited this store yesterday with my mom. Overall was impressed with the organization and cleanliness. It was sample time, which is my least favorite time to be there because people are just crazy with the samples, but the workers were all nice which is rare. I am a Sam's person, don't have a Costco membership and I asked my mom if they have the scan and go like Sam's does...she said she didn't think so or she'd use it. The lines were ridiculously long to check out and I also noticed they didn't have self checkout like Sam's does. I think we waited at least ten minutes...way too long. You need to look into the scan and go or self checkout or something. Way too long for checkout. I get that people want interaction sometimes and like to make sure jobs are protected but let me tell you our checker was slow and not one single word of interaction. I was purposely starting at her, no hi, no how are you today, no thank you have a nice day, nothing at all, so what would be the big deal if I checked myself out? Having been a Costco member for more than a decade, I've been to many Costos, in many different states (and even in Mexico!). I'd have to say that this location has to be the top 1 or 2. A lot to do with how much foot traffic (this one is not as crazy busy as the Palm Desert one), but I attribute it to the efficient staff as well. Sure, the check out lines can be a bit long at times, but that's to be expected. And they work very efficiently to get you through the lines as fast as possible. Yesterday I was looking online to find out If I could get movie tickets at Costco for Century Theatres and I did find out that you can buy a set of 2 tickets for under $20, versus paying full price at the theatre. Plus it was really good to get tickets there, as it worked out as I was seeing a movie last night and the tickets really came in handy. The line to check out yesterday was not too long and the customer service was great. So if you are looking to get discount movie tickets go to Costco. read more

Do not get automobile insurance from them!!!(Ameriprise). I have had 2 bad experiences with them regarding a claim. First time they were pushing me to use their own auto body shop when California law says you can use any shop you want. Second time, a claim that happened on the same day do to weather conditions and they want me to file 2 different claims so they can get 2 deductibles from me!! This is the worst insurance i have ever had!!! read more

I was in this Costco location to do a little recon and to pick up cat food and litter for my rescue. Plenty of stuff still out of stock, water,TP and paper towels. Picked up some hearing aid batteries for my 92yr old mom. Lots of merchandise movement to fill in the voids in the cases. No potatoes, no tomatoes etc. I was there mostly to get the wet, and dry cat food and litter, loaded up and went to the checkout. During my checkout I was informed that I couldn't purchase more than 1 bag of dry cat food. When I explained my situation a "manager" was called who didn't understand why there was an issue. The checkout people informed him that the register wouldn't let the transaction go through. More explanation, another manager and more explanation. I suggested that they pencil whip this purchase which they refused to do. When I pointed out that THERE WERE NO SIGNS POSTED as to a limit they sent "manager" #1 to post a sign. I don't want to belabor the issue but response of the management staff was less than impressive, particularly manager #2 she lacked any compassion or professionalism. When I pointed out to manager 2 that this would cause me to make more trips to the store potentionally exposing other customers as well as myself and violating the governors order she could give two sh*ts. As a retired first responder in a management position I would have been called on the carpet if I acted this way. Thank God that fuel is cheap so I can hunt down enuff food to keep the critters fed. read more

The facts: 1. Got my prescription wrong, had to wait four days to get it filled. 2. The one-hour print refill is always at a least a one-day wait. Did I mention the ink runs out fast and it spills and smears all over the place? I gave Costco at least four chances, since my experience at a Mexican Costco had been so fabulous. I thought I was just having bad luck. 3. The one-hour photo is also not one-hour, had to wait at least one day. 4. Tires: went there two hours before closing time and attendant told me I had to go the next day. 5. Pizza: Miserly on the cheese and had to wait thirty minutes for a slice of pizza. I go to other Costco's and avoid this one like a plague. read more

Today was the most stressful and upsetting dealing I've ever had with Costco. My spouse went to the La Quinta store today to renew my membership. She arrived at the membership counter and spoke with "Cherlyn." Cherlyn advised my spouse that she was not on the account. Cherlyn then promptly took my membership card from my spouse and stated it had been "seized." When my spouse asked for the membership card back "Cherlyn" advised her that "She didn't need it." Cherlyn also told her that I could come to the store and renew it. I immediately called after hearing this and asked to speak to a manager. I was told all managers were in a meeting and I would receive a call back within the hour. 6 hours pass, so I make the 20 Minute trip down to Costco. I arrived at the membership counter to be ignored by the rudest individual I have ever met at a retail store. It turns out this individual is the manager! Her name was Eddy Cervantez and is the head of membership and marketing. When I asked Eddy why she did not call me back as promised, she stated that she did call me back and "reached a voicemail." I normally don't answer unknown numbers so I asked her if she left a voicemail. Eddy stated "the issue was not important so I did not leave a message." My jaw dropped... Keep in mind during the entire conversation Eddy was very condescending and rude. I began to think I was in a weird episode of the twilight zone however, the uncivil manner in which my problem was being handled continued. I then told Eddy that I needed my Costco card back as my notary was expecting to see the original copy. Eddy informed me "That's not a legal document" while shrugging a laugh. Has Costco added legal advice to its services? After continued refusal to return my card I stated that the card "was my property." Eddy responded with "not anymore." Eddy then stated "you don't seem to be understanding what I am telling you." I immediately asked for her supervisor. Rosco came over and gave no notice to the way Eddy treated me as if it was an everyday occurrence. When I asked Rosco how this kind of service was acceptable to a paying customer he told me, "well there's always two sides to a story." After I was attacked and berated by Costco management, I walked out. Is this some kind of joke? Was I on a prank show and missed the waiver on the way out?! I now have been robbed of my Costco card and will have to repay my notary. I have never in my life been treated this way. My next step is contact Costco corporate to retrieve my stolen card and lodge a formal complaint. If that does not present resolve, I'll visit the Attorney General's office of California to file a formal complaint. Taking my business to Sam's Club now. This review is mainly focused to this locations Tire Center, DO NOT BUY TIRES HERE! In the paper work they give you after buying tires it is recommended to have them checked once a month by a tire expert, and when I went to have them checked (about 2 months later) I was told they would do nothing because my tires did not have enough millage to do that. This is my second set of tires; my first being from Americas Tire which I never had any problems with, I had them rotated every 2-3 months no matter millage and the guys gladly would do it. The reason I got my second set here was because I was saving $70 but I greatly regret that, I repeat DO NOT BUY TIRES HERE the so call tire experts here are lazy and will just try to cover their laziness by saying "We are not doing that, let me call a Manager." I had to go to Costco for some really needed items. I actually hate going to Costco because I always buy more than I intend to buy. They have everything that I like. If there is one complaint that I have, it would be that they don't hire the most Customer Service people. But to my pleasant surprise, on this last visit I actually ran into 2 different Costco employees that have made me change my mind. I was trying to get one of the Handicap Carts to work. Mind you it's 103% and I'm getting madder by the minute. To the rescue, Irma appears and explains that the cart is still plugged in and won't go anywhere unless you unplug it first. Thank you, thank you, because I would probably still be there , only fried to a krispie cridder. Irma was actually on her way home but stopped to help me out. Very, very nice young lady. Thank you again Irma for stopping in that heat to help me out. The next person that helped me out was Evan. He works outside rounding up the carts so that we can use them to shop. He was further down the next rows of cars when I asked him for help. He came right over and helped me unload my cart. He was very very helpful and had a great smile on his face the whole time. He actually looked like he loved this job. Very nice youngman. Costco needs to hire more people like Irma and Evan, PLEASE!!!! read more

This Costco location has a serious issue with inconsistent service. This particular review pertains to the Pharmacy department. My husband and I were the last customers to arrive before they closed (on a weekday) and were there to pick up generic, non-prescription allergy medication they keep behind the counter. Sandra was extremely unfriendly - she was gruff and barked questions at us to find out what we wanted instead of politely asking how she could help us, made no eye contact, and didn't smile. She had a rushed attitude that made us feel like we were an inconvenience, which was unwarranted since there was another cashier there, so if she was in a rush to leave/clock out, she didn't need to be the one to help us. Afterward, we went to the front to ask for a manager. We met Enrique, the one redeeming aspect of our visit since he was friendly, polite, and exhibited a sense of urgency to get us connected with a manager right away. Unfortunately, the manager we met with that evening, Michael, was nice and apologized but made excuses for Sandra's behavior. He said he would follow up with her to see what the issue was, but, honestly, he seemed unconcerned. Unfortunately, I'll probably be back because of the proximity to where I live; but in terms of overall customer service skills of their employees, corporate needs to improve the training program. read more

I bought the $60 membership on-line on 7/10. It immediately processed my card and I got an email from Costco that the membership order was filled and I could pick up my membership cards at the store. Two minutes later I get an email that the membership was cancelled. I called the store membership desk and they said no problem, just wait a day for the charge to clear and I could pick up my card. After 3 more calls to the desk, each day after the 10th, I finally got in the car and drove to the store. The lady at the membership desk was absolutely no help and she didn't know why it was acting like it was. Finally the manager came over and tried to get it fixed. FINALLY, he said, Oh, you used a MasterCard. You can use a MasterCard to shop online but not in the store. They only accept Visa in the store, so if I wanted a membership, I would have to pay with a Visa. I said I don't have a Visa, he said, well we can make an application for a Visa card for you. I told him him I didn't need another card, he said, sorry you can't shop in Costco. NOWHERE DID IT EVER SAY THEY WOULD NOT ACCEPT MASTERCARD!!! Four days wasting my time. read more

This is my first week in the desert and my first time going to a Costco. It was an experience. Everything is huge!! They also have great prices. I have a small family so we probably won't do much grocery shopping here but everything else was cool. The staff was also very friendly and helped us get a large purchase into the car. read more
