Costco seems to be the same everywhere. Always busy. Every time I come here before I leave my cousin takes me here to get my coffee, chocolates and nuts and whatever else to bring for family and friends. Sometimes Longs might have a good deal but can't really beat the prices here. Big parking lot but busy and the employees are pretty helpful. I'll be back on my next trip................

7/24/26 Just another quick update... Some newer items like old school style maki rolls...not the overly sauced and smothered in crunchy distractions like deep fried scallions or crunchy garlic...but the type of rolls I grew up with. With these sushi rolls comes a couple packages of Japanese wasabi that actually real wasabi root in it. That really took me by surprise. Also included are Yamasa shoyu packs as well as some small packs of ginger also from Japan. The rolls are cut into 8 pieces and run $13 ish. A great deal. The other new-ish thing they have is a pack of marbled blue and monterey cheese slices. It looked super interesting so I picked one up...that sh*t is delicious. I'm gonna have to pick up more and put it in the freezer since like most things at Costco, it will inevitably disappear from the shelves. And speaking of things that disappear never to be seen again is the garlic spread Toom. That was super garlic forward with a hint of lemon juice. It was sold as a dip but I used it in so many sauces. I'm sad to see it missing from the shelves.

Costco Iwilei is the busiest Costco in the State, so much so that there a literal memes about the lines you have to wait in after 5pm on a weekday and open to close on weekends. But really, we all love this place despite this, and the workers are super efficient about trying to get us out as fast as possible which is really nice. Their poke has new items now which is really cool. Salmon mango ceviche sounds awesome and not sure how au poke tastes but would love to try them in the future. Finally got to try their Hazelnut beignets and they were fun sized, delicious to boot. I come here almost weekly and probably will continue to do so in the future. The only thing to add is that there never seems to be enough parking but not sure what they can do to add more.

We were so grateful there was a Costco near our venue for our wedding in addition the convenience of being able to order cakes ahead of time online through the Costco app. I had my wedding coordinator pick up our cake before the reception without any trouble. The Costco cakes always seem to hit the spot! They're simple but delicious and consistent in quality. All the praises for their bakery!!

Caramel churro sundae

This Costco location is crazy busy but the prices are good and I just discovered the caramel churro sundae at the food court, which now makes the busy-ness of this location worth the while. The sundae has a huge portion of soft serve, a generous amount of caramel, and little churro pieces! Yum. Pair it with a giant slice of pizza and you have a huge, filling lunch for not much cash. The lines at the food court move pretty quickly and the workers seem to have it down to a science, getting your food to you promptly. There's nowhere really to sit but there's a few columns nearby that you can perch on. Get yourself some lunch, THEN go inside to get your stuff. You might not pick up as many impulse buys if you're stuffed full of pizza. Just saying.

The madhouse checkout line

The one thing consistent and constant, about this Costco is that they definitely know how to churn out retail dollars quickly. It's certainly not surprising for the highest grossing, busiest Costco location in the world. What is surprising is just how quickly the checkout process can be, even with the huge number of people in line with the huge carts and dollies. The cashiers and assistants have the process down to a science, and no matter how long the line is, you're typically out in less than 15 minutes. Finding everything you need is always tricky, due to their practice of constantly moving items, and not having aisle numbers. If you can find an employee tho, they're very knowledgeable, and always happy to let you know if a specific item is in stock, and even help you locate it in the maze. Of course, you almost never leave with just the items you actually came in for. It's funny (or maddening) that on this trip, I had budgeted to buy $200 worth of durable food items to donate to the Hawaii Foodbank. Along the way I picked up just a couple off items for myself, and when I checked out, the total was $300. Typical, I guess. Once you're done, remembering where you parked (that's a whole other story) is another thing, but at least you're done. No wonder I usually only come here for the gas, lol.

This Costco runs like a well-oiled machine. The staff are friendly, efficient, and keep things moving even when the parking lot is packed. Inside, it's classic Costco -- great deals, fresh produce, and a wide selection of local favorites you won't find on the mainland. There's a entire section of Macadamia nuts. I really appreciate the store was stocked nicely. From poke and fresh fish to Hawaiian snacks and island-style baked goods, there's always something that reminds you you're in Hawai'i. Things are different from when I lived on the island back in the 80's. No waiting for things to be shipped over. It's all here. :) The only drawback is parking -- it can get chaotic, so plan ahead or go early. Overall, Costco Kalihi is one of the best-run Costcos -- organized, friendly, and a great reflection of the local spirit.

Lots of local selection and of course and better prices than other places. Found some good deals as usual. Really liked that the bathroom stalls had these flags, like their gas stations, to show if anyone is using the toilet stall. Very good idea as sometimes we don't know if they are in use and have to look under the stall door. Think they should put these in all their costcos. This location is where the dole plantation headquarters used to be- sadly now just office space.

Aloha my friends! Decided to visit the busiest Costco in the world here in Honolulu. The crowds actually felt like the Costco crowds in San Diego. We were here on a weekday, so perhaps weekends are when it's extremely busy. The hardest part was finding a parking space. That was CRAZY. It was great finding Hawaiian food, drinks and souvenirs as well as other essential items all under one roof. Oh and like always, get a shopping cart because you know you'll be coming out with more than you intended to purchase..LOL

Costco STAFF
Misty B.

I witnessed a hit-and-run in the Costco parking lot and immediately tried to report it to a man wearing a brown shirt labeled "STAFF" (security). Unfortunately, he was absolutely useless. He showed no urgency, offered no assistance, and seemed completely uninterested in helping with a serious situation. Thankfully, Gregory, the associate at the entrance, stepped up right away. He was kind, professional, and genuinely helpful. The store manager (I'm sorry I didn't get her name) was also very responsive and took the situation seriously. Thank you both for your professionalism and willingness to help. Costco, you have some outstanding employees like Gregory and your manager who represent your company well. Unfortunately, your security staff did not. When customers are trying to report a crime, they should be met with someone who is prepared to help--not someone who is indifferent. Please do better when hiring and training your security staff. Situations like this matter, and your customers deserve better.

I love Costco but hate going shopping there. So when I was in the area 30 min before they closed I decided to venture inside. I found it a lot easier to handle with parking and crowds. I was searching for mainland food gifts and took a bunch of pictures to decide cost and compare them with other places. The prices are great and the amount of items are reasonable. New outside food court item was their brownie sundae which was delicious!

People are crazy for this!

Unfortunately I don't know the answer.

Is costco open tomorrow?

Yes.

Do they still carry the paradise macadamia cookies?

As of Nov. 2022, I did not see any (I went in looking for treats for folks on the mainland) - all of the cookie types were from the Diamond Bakery.

Do they sell leis?

Yes, they source locally and it's usually located in the end cap with other flowers, however if it's graduation season, they run out earlier, best to pick up when the store opens.

Yes there is! It should be near the registers on the far ride side of Costco

Not much. They have edamame 12 packs; the protein patties have very little (usually 4g) protein.

Coleman? But maybe another brand

Could it be that someone Sharted🤣😂😂😂, that was my Husband response?! I don't think it smells like Eggs, only maybe if your near the frozen section all the way in the back of the Store, where they sell da Eggs😳😳😳...

I am just a tourist and have no membership card. Can I still go inside Costco and purchase stuffs? And the price may different between have membership card and without membership card?

You can purchase pharmacy items and liquor items without a membership, everything else you need a membership. The prices are for members only there's no price difference since you have to be a member to shop. If you buy pharmacy or liquor items it's…

Hot and cold food available here, along with poke bar and food items of regional fairs regularly held here. Getting here may pose a challenge with lane closures due to rail construction. Once you get here, finding parking is usually not an issue (save special holidays). This is an interesting store that has takeout containers, disposable utensils, dressings, jams, canned corned beef, salsa, cleaning products, etc. I paid attention to the "Hot Sale" signs for the best prices and great deals. I found sleeves of cups that my mom likes to use to serve certain desserts. It's challenging to find these disposable cups! I had looked everywhere for them! Now, I find them for $3 ... wow! I think I need to return! I saw packs of plastic spoons for $2. Maybe I should get them for the next family party... Tip: use cash to avoid the 2.5% credit card fee. The door is to the left of the building and is actually the Will Call area though they do have a lot of shelves to display their inventory which does include cleaning chemicals, food containers, gloves and many items that you just don't see like foam trays.
