Just bought a 70" TV today and had an excellent experience. There's a employee working the TV area and his name is Matt. He definitely knows electronics!!! He is a young guy in his early 20's with a slight tint of red hair. He knew about every TV in that department, and he took his time with me to help me pick out the right TV. In my opinion he is the best employee in the whole store. I am very happy with my TV, and I have Matt to thank for that, because I would have picked out the wrong TV. He said he's only worked there for 1 year which surprised me because of his knowledge and customer support. You will be doing your self a huge favor if you ask for Matt. I wish I knew his last name. Matt should definitely receive "Employee of the year!!!!!" So if you are in the market for any type of electronics, go to Costco and ask for Matt........you will understand what I am talking about!!! Disrespectful and rude manager and front door employee. I walk in without my card out and immediately explain to the woman that I'm just going straight to the pharmacy. She was just about to nod me through when she stops me and tells me that she needs to get the manager. I'm standing there, not knowing what is going on and what I could possibly have done - you don't need a membership card to go to the pharmacy. After a couple minutes of standing there, asking what is going on and being ignored by the woman, the manager appears and I ask him why he's here. He tells me that my backpack is a problem and that they have rules about them. I explain I'm just going to pick up my prescriptions and he says that I should leave my bag in my car. There's no way I'm going to leave it in my car! It has all of my expensive laptop and items, and so I tell him no way. He goes on to say that if I want to come in the store, he needs to go through my bag and then when I leave I need to be checked as well. I was upset, yes. I had to unzip my entire bag and let this random guy go through all of my things before being followed all the way to the pharmacy! While I'm waiting next to the pharmacy on the phone, I turned and saw the manager watching me through the shelves! Just completely rude. I'm not a thief and I don't appreciate being suspected and watched the whole time I'm here just because I have a backpack with all of my school items and am in the one place I said I would be the whole time. I'm in my mid twenties, going to college and don't appreciate being treated like a 15 year old high schooler. You don't treat your customers like that. Life-savers!!! Lynn and Walter in the tire shop saved our bacon, big-time. Our Sea Doo trailer had a flat in the lot, but these guys came to our rescue. Going above and beyond is rarely experienced these days, but these two know how much extra care the bestowed upon us, and our car full of Costco groceries melting in the heat. Way to go guys! This is one of the better Costco's. #1. You can almost always find a decent parking space. #2. Even if the lot is full the store feels somewhat empty. #3. No fighting for samples here! #4 SELF CHECKOUT!!!!! Debit/credit only. #5. Short lines at the deli and plenty of seating! We often forego Tacoma Costco for this one for the reasons mentioned above. I cannot praise the Gig Harbor store highly enough. I am a senior so I go during the senior hours. It's well organized and clean. The conveyor belt is cleaned after every transaction. I love this Costco. The staff here are really nice. Also, I don't now what they do to the Sample Grannies (not sure what you call the people who pass out the samples) but the Sample Grannies in Gig Harbor really know how to work their magic. They are vocal, look you in the eyes, and are very informative. The Sample Grannies in other nearby Costco stores seem to have their head down most of the time mumbling something to themselves. It was nice to have welcoming faces passing out yummy treats. All around great staff and a very clean and open store. read more

Costco is a great store! Their staff is helpful and friendly and their policies and guarantees are exceptional! A few years back I purchased a light fixture that installs on the outside of my home. It worked well for about 18 months then all in the sudden it stopped working. I remembered I purchased it from Costco and they have an unlimited return policy. I removed the fixture and returned it. I did not have the receipt, but had cash in hand within 5 minutes after they looked up the purchase from my membership records. Normally I would not take something like that back, but it was expensive and it should have worked as advertised for 20 years or more. Costco never asks any questions when you are not satisfied. They always treat customers with respect. I always search Costco before buying anything over, say $100. The only problem I've ever had with Costco is that their selection is not always predictable. If you find something you like, don't bet it will still be there the next time you shop. They rotate their merchandise regularly. This is not really a big deal, just something to plan on. read more

I love Costco, this one in particular because it's closest to my house. This Costco has a lot of higher end products (fancy jeans like Seven and True Religion, for example) no other area warehouses carry, as well as a large wine and cheese selection. It is a really clean and brightly lit warehouse and the items are usually well stocked and arranged, unlike other warehouses I've been to where the goods are strewn all over the place. I especially appreciate this attention to detail in the clothing section. read more

I am not a huge fan of the staff at this costco. Several times they have stopped us either at the door or register demanding to view our card a second time, or to make sure we BOTH have one. Maybe because it's so new, but I love this Costco. It's closer to my home and it's generally pretty empty compared to the one in Tacoma. And the parking is luxurious! It's empty and you can generally get a spot close to the entrance (which I've had no such luck at other locations). It is very clean and offers more variety than I've seen at other Costco's. I'm not sure why it would be hard to get to unless you're scared of a couple round-abouts. If you are, then okay, it's difficult. But really, going westbound highway 16 to the Costco exit, turn up onto Borgen Blvd (which is the second road on the round-about), go all the way up the hill, straight through the second round about (also the second road available), then it's almost an immediate right and you're there. read more

So my review is for a specific employee named Nico. I had just bought a king mattress and rented a truck to load it in. Nico helped me put it in a showed me how to tie the ropes. He didn't just walk away. He made sure it was secure because I mentioned I was driving over the bridge. He was so nice. I shakes his hand and gave him a tip but he politely returned it and said thank you & no tip is necessary. I told him I really appreciated how he took a good 15 minutes to help me secure my new mattress and let him know he deserved a tip but he said it was his job and a thank you is enough and he hopes that his hospitality makes me feel welcomed enough to come back. The self-check out lines literally NEVER work. Every time I try it takes twice the time as waiting in line. Staff seems exceptionally frustrated with them. They barely try to help. Pros: Clean, easy to navigate, well stocked. Lots of parking. read more

It's unusual for me to write a 5 Star review, but the Gig Harbor Costco deserves it. The remodeled gas station is a breeze, and the store is easy to get into, shop, and get out of quickly and efficiently. I VERY much appreciate and value the requirement that all customers and staff wear masks. I wear gloves, too, but I also appreciate that an employee is standing by with cloths with which to clean the shopping carts. I'm 67 but feel comfortable shopping there. I hope you'll be able to restock some of the items currently missing from your inventory, such as sugarfree cough drops and exam gloves; and it's hard on me to have a "1- or 2-item" limit on some goods, because I live far away and only visit every three weeks or so. I hope that that gets addressed and there are no longer any limits soon. read more

This is the cleanest, most well stocked and quietest Costco I have ever been to. Membership however was the worst. They scolded me for losing my card- it spits out of a machine like key chain toy! That didn't eclipse the rest of the store though. I don't have much more to say than I'd rather go here than to another. But it's easy to get lost over there. First off, only giving them 1 star because there's no option to give zero stars!!!! Went in on a Wednesday because I had a nail in my tire. Appointment took two hours to assess, when I was told it would take no more than one. After repeatedly asking if they were done yet was given the news that the tire had to be replaced because the nail was in the side wall. FORTUNATELY, the tires were still under warranty and I was told "there would be no charge to replace it". They were going to order 4 tires, though, in the event the tread wasn't enough (which they could have assessed right then). I would then be responsible for the cost of the the other three. Tires were supposed to be in within a couple days and they'd call me. When I didn't receive a call EVER I went back in on Monday to find out the tires had NEVER been ordered. This was after waiting at the counter for a good 30 minutes while they tried to figure it out! Tawnie, a technician in the tire center helped me and was wonderful (the only one). She was able to get the tires ordered right then. She left notes and the order information for her manager, Lynn Baldwin, who would be in the next morning. She instructed him to call me and let me know the status. When I didn't hear from him at all, went back in on Wednesday. I spoke with Lynn at that time and he knew nothing about this! Took him a few minutes to get up to speed! FINALLY got an appt scheduled for Friday, 1 1/2 weeks later from when I originally went in. This a huge inconvenience driving around on a spare for that long, not to mention NOT GOOD for my car! Could have all been avoided! Again appointment ran way longer than it needed to for ONE tire!!! At the end was charged! When I questioned the charge Lynn explained that I had to pay the difference of the new tire and the value of the recycled tread on the old tire???? This doesn't sound totally unreasonable, HOWEVER, this WAS NOT what was originally represented!!! At that point.....WHATEVER!! Just get me out of here!!! WORST COMMUNICATION EVER! SHOULD ALWAYS STAND BEHIND WHAT IS ORIGINALLY REPRESENTED TO A CUSTOMER!!! Will never recommend the Costco tire center!! Should have listened to a friend who said DO NOT GO THERE!!! read more

This review is for the tire center only. I've never had to jump through hoops to buy tires before so purchasing from the Costco Tire Center was a new experience for me. I typically go to Les Schwab for tires but decided to give the Costco Tire Center a try to save a couple of bucks. They are a bit less expensive than the competitors but their customer service is lightyears behind the other places. I guess if you have nothing but time to deal with them (and a whole lot of patience) saving a couple bucks could be worth it. read more

So my family and I absolutely love this Costco! But a checker named lupe was so rude to us. First my child had Togo to the bathroom while we were in line. When my child returned she walked behind the checker to get to us because the people in front of us were checking out and the area was blocked for her to get back to us. Anyways lupe the checker, came up to her and said you could get hit with a cart in a rude voice. So that was understandable but her tone was awful. We all let it go. Then when we were checking out the fire alarm goes off we see a bunches of employees running so we look around then lupe pounds on the plexi glass and says "you need to hurry, pay attention to the card reader" her tone was horrible... I was shocked. My family and I saw people running and we wanted to see if we needed to leave the facility and we looked away for at least 15 seconds to see what was happening. Then we asked her what her name was and she said "you can talk to my manager I don't care" the same tone and smiled at us. We didn't talk to the manager. Obviously she's done this before and does not care at at all. After our experience with her, We've heard from friends and family about her attitude and run ins with her even outside her job! Like I said I love Costco but my family and I will never return to her line again! read more

I really do like Costco, but they arent perfect. My big gripes are the perfumed employees, fertilizers in the front areas of the store in season, and the constant changing items. Im not perfect either, have to get my brain wrapped around the size and such, but i do like going. I have only been to five Costco stores in my life, or was it six.... Anyway i like this one best. We save gobs on electronics, clothing sometimes, and with the growing supply of organic and hluten free items that I can eat - i go more often. I have only met one grump, and one reluctant employee in this store since they opened, but frankly they are treading water in high seas here. Sometimes the front is a swarm of bodies & carts and the hustle mode bounces energy around, so these people do take a whoopin from customers as well. Most of the time all is fine. Now if they could get a body in electronics that could answer questions without having to look at the package, that would rock. read more

Just like everyone else, I love Costco. Really I do...BUT...why oh why do they carry an item and then they don't and then they do, etc. My most recent frustration is the Yancy Bergenost cheese. Not too long ago Costco Gig Harbor had a huge tasting display of their cheeses and you would have thought they would be carrying every flavor. Now I think they have gouda, and that is IT. One can only buy so much cheese at one time and this (my favorite) doesn't freeze well; freezing makes it dry and crumbly. For years Costco Tacoma had Hershey's kisses in the big bag (I give them away) and now I can only get them at the business center. Costco stores claim they are not part of Costco...hmmmm....how does THAT work? read more

The "so called self proclaimed" female jewelry expert here who said she had been doing jewelry for over 20 years didn't even know what a clarity enhanced diamond was. HUH??? Yesterday our middle school track team had a meet near your Gig Harbor warehouse. We decided to take our team to the Gig Harbor Costco after the successful meet to get some food before returning to our school. We called ahead to let the staff know we would be coming with approximately 50 student athletes. The food court staff was gracious and said they would love to feed our team. When we arrived, all of our coaches showed our executive Costco cards as we entered. The food court employees were very polite and welcoming. The manager then approached us and made it clear that Costco does not serve community teams. She was extremely rude, yelled at the food court staff in front of us and the entire team. She stood back glaring at us and shaking her head while we waited in line. She then took other customers that lined up behind our team to the front of line!! She treated our student athletes like they were second class citizens. The third time she took other customers to the front of the line making our paying athletes wait, I let her know that I will NEVER shop at her location again. She was extremely rude and unprofessional. The food court employees were so nice and efficient. They thanked our team for wiping the tables before we left. Due to her actions...the Gig Harbor location lost many customers yesterday. I hope something is done in regards to her extremely poor customer service. That manager obviously has no respect for the children in our community. read more

Once again for the third or fourth time now the phone kiosk has let me down with very poor customer service. As I told corporate, I was certain that the Costco kiosk would not stand by any online account deals or represent anything I was told directly by tmobile. Customer care told me to tell them to look at the notes for them when they logged into my account. Cathy at the kiosk looked at me in disgust and wouldn't even look in the computer. I could have bet money as I promised T-Mobile that they would let me down and stand by their own made up rules. Never once have I been to that kiosk and have met anyone friendly. The last time I was there, the younger lady working there told me that she totally hates people which made me wonder why she had a customer service job. This is my first review ever to make, but I am just blown away by the worst customer service I have experienced in all my times going there. The employees there can't get any worse in my eyes. Stay away from there, unless you love being treated like garbage! Shame on you guys giving an amazing store like Costco a bad look. read more
