    Kids Quesadilla
    Emeri H.

Every restaurant is allowed an off day, some other reviews on here are hopefully just that, a bad day... I had a great experience, I wasn't super hungry, so I just ordered a kids meal to share with my son. A chicken quesadilla with rice and beans, came with a drink and a cinnamon sugar tortilla hit the spot! The watermelon limeade drink I tried was excellent and I loved it! The line was pretty long when we arrived, but the workers worked through the customers at a decent pace. We enjoyed our little snack in the clean restaurant and would be happy to stop by another day.

Mango Salsa with a great kick!

We found this to be a pleasant surprise at our first visit. In many ways this reminds me about Cafe Rio but with some great additions to the menu, i enjoyed the fresh made tortillas and my tacos were great, the Mango salsa was awesome!

Decent food, ridiculous prices. It's a chain, of course, so maybe they have no say locally.

I wasn't expecting much as far as food went. However, this place was great surprise. Service was very nice and friendly. My Birria quesadilla was the best quesadilla I ever had. Now, I hardly ever order quesadillas but I love birria so I decided to give it a shot. The consume was very tasty and the meat within the quesadilla was flavorful, juicy and tender. Some aspects of my visit were great however, for a small place like Evanston, WY, I will give it a slight pass. The sweet tea and water situation was horrible. I know somewhere like Wyoming may not have the greatest sweet tea, I know I was far removed from the South. However, I believe it was a combo of the water, tea/water ratio and whatever was used as a sweetener. The salsa was very fresh but some of the chunks of veggies were a little too big for salsa in my opinion.

The service does kinda take a while for them to noice you're waiting at the door. Which is understandable when low staff working. No biggie. Otherwise, the food is pretty decent and I would definitely recommend stopping here if you're coming to Evanston for some vape juice or fireworks haha. Once you're sat down, you're welcomed with chips, flavorful chunky salsa and a bean dip. We ordered the Carne adobada (marinated asada) both times Two pics are from this time and two are from last time for reference. The meat is flavorful and tender. Moist fluffy rice. The beans... are well, beans lol... We also ordered the guacamole for an appetizer, unfortunately was very disappointed in that. Not in the guac itself, it tasted great. But the price $10 freaking dollars is absurd, for what half an avocado? (What you see in the picture is what we got. It was shaped in a ball like small ice cream scoop before I smashed it around but it was an extremely small amount) like I get inflation,.... but that much for so little. Also the knives are dull a fk. Lol I will come here over and over again but won't be getting the guac appetizer again. Our waitress Brittany is so kind and sweet and top of the refills (we all know I'm a Karen about my refills ) she did great both times. Thanks.

What a wonderful hidden gem! It doesn't look like much or even very big from the outside. Don't let that fool you. It was great food, great service, huge portions, and we were in and out quick. They turned over tables fast and more people kept coming in to eat. We were surprised how busy it was on a Monday night! The whole place was full - every table! I had a chicken fajita burrito with a strawberry marg and my husband had the chili verde. Fresh ingredients, homemade food and sauces. We got chips and salsa, a side of queso, an order of 2 street tacos and an order of flautas. Overall the food was average. While the salsa was fresh and flavorful, the queso dip was obviously out of a can, bright orange and tasteless. The street tacos were shredded beef and carnitas; both were served with double-corn tortillas, fresh chopped onion and fresh cilantro, but the meat fillings were bland, and the carnitas were not as crispy as I like. My co-worker had the flautas (rolled and deep-fried tortillas stuffed with meat and cheese) - she said they were ok but a little greasy. I probably would not eat here again, but will say that the menu is large and it could be we just ordered 'wrong'. Our server was very nice, the interior was clean, and I did enjoy the murals painted on the walls too. This place is located in a strip mall just off the highway in Evanston. The name leads you to believe it was a Mexican restaurant, but they actually had Italian, American, and Mexican offerings on the menu. I had looked at the online menu before arriving and found that the prices were about $4.00 higher online than on the menu inside the restaurant. The hostess was friendly and welcomed us with a smile. She seated us quickly and there were not too busy. The waitress was efficient with taking our order, but the food seemed a little slow to come out based on the number of customers. I ordered the Avocado Eggs Benedict. It was very tasty and the avocado complemented the traditional eggs benedict well. It came with hashbrowns that were cooked like I like them, not too crispy but not mushy or soggy either. The waitress came by regularly and kept our drinks full. I took an order of buffalo chicken wings to-go. When we opened them to eat later, the lettuce they put in the to-go box was all wilted. The carrots and celery were pretty tiny and didn't add much to the dish. The blue cheese dipping sauce was a good flavor and offset the buffalo sauce well. The chicken wings were smaller and not anything special. I would recommend the breakfast here, but suggest skipping the chicken wings.

It's located in a plaza and doesn't have the best outdoor appearance as some of the other places we've been to. Upon entering, it's a small place with a Mexican grocery store attached, which I'm assuming means that it's family owned. They had soft music playing, the decor wasn't that fantastic. We were greeted with cold chips and cold homemade salsa, which was in a container that we had to pour. The salsa was nice and cold with a good spicy kick to it. We're vegetarians so we asked the older lady there if they used animal fat in their beans, in which she replied that they did. She couldn't speak English that well, so we decided to ask another woman there, which I assume to be the daughter of the older woman. She then again said that they do, I asked her if she could make the refried beans without animal fat and she went back in the kitchen and sent her sister out, whom could speak proper English. I asked her and she clearly denied that they don't use animal fat and that the other two had difficulty speaking and understanding English. We went ahead and ordered a piña colada, which was probably the most amazing thing I've ever had in such a long time! It had the perfect blend of sweet coconut and pineapple juice. My favorite part was the three maraschino cherries on top, their juices combined with the piña colada was phenomenal. We ordered three cheese enchiladas which came with a side of rice, beans, and lettuce and tomato. When we got our order, it was covered in cheese. I love cheese, but this was too much. It looked like a blend of cheddar and mozzarella, I personally don't like too much cheddar in my Mexican food, I prefer monterrey. I took my first bite and I swear, I couldn't taste the sauce, the cheese, or the tortillas. I couldn't taste anything. There was no taste to the enchiladas. They seemed extremely bland. There was some additional sauce on the side, and I tried that, I couldn't make out the flavors. The only thing I tasted was burnt tomatoes. The rice was bland as well, which is a reoccurring problem I've noticed in Mexican restaurants. The beans did not taste like they were cooked in animal fat (we made sure before eating our food), and they were hearty, warm, but bland. All in all, everything except the salsa and the piña colada was bland. It wasn't that good, whatsoever. I wouldn't recommend this place to others, especially if you're a vegetarian. I've been to better Mexican restaurants, with better ambience and food. If you're in town and you're looking for a good piña colada, this is where you should go to get it. I had the non-alcoholic, but it was deliciously made.

They quickly adjusted seating to fit our large party comfortably, which isn't easy. We really appreciated that. Unfortunately, the food experience was mixed and had some consistent issues that affected most people: * Several meals arrived lukewarm or cold, including a child's Mac-n-Cheese that was straight from the Kraft box and cold. Most of the table reported similar temperature problems. * Our nacho platter with pulled pork was a decent size with good toppings, but the cheese on top wasn't warm at all. The pulled pork was a bit light on portion and average in flavor (though the cheese underneath it was actually warm). * The side salad had some brown lettuce pieces that should have been removed. * The Firecracker Burger was good, but the fries tasted like fish -- likely from being fried in the same oil as the fish & chips. * The chicken panini was lukewarm and felt overpriced for the quality. Most menu items start at $17+, and the value doesn't seem to match the price point. On the positive side, both pizzas (pepperoni and cheese) were a hit with the younger kids -- they really enjoyed them. Edit - the kids said "the pizza dough wasn't really cooked but it was fine" We know running a restaurant is tough, especially with big groups, and the friendly service stood out. With some focus on food temperature, portion consistency, fryer separation, and price-to-value on certain items, Suds could be a much stronger spot. There aren't many restaurant options in the area, so we'd love to see them improve and come back next time we're in town. Thanks again to the team for their efforts.
