Kids Quesadilla
Emeri H.

Every restaurant is allowed an off day, some other reviews on here are hopefully just that, a bad day... I had a great experience, I wasn't super hungry, so I just ordered a kids meal to share with my son. A chicken quesadilla with rice and beans, came with a drink and a cinnamon sugar tortilla hit the spot! The watermelon limeade drink I tried was excellent and I loved it! The line was pretty long when we arrived, but the workers worked through the customers at a decent pace. We enjoyed our little snack in the clean restaurant and would be happy to stop by another day.

Mango Salsa with a great kick!

We found this to be a pleasant surprise at our first visit. In many ways this reminds me about Cafe Rio but with some great additions to the menu, i enjoyed the fresh made tortillas and my tacos were great, the Mango salsa was awesome!

a plate of mexican food and a cup of coffee

Cleaning and closing the beverage center an hour and a half prior to closing seems like bad business to me. This is the first Costa Vida I've been to. Based on this experience it will be a long time before I consider it as a dining option again. I hope this was just a bad day.

I usually love Costa Vida, but at this location, my rice is hard most of the time and today my food came cold.

Awful experience. They skimped us on the food. The ice machine was broken. The line was hardly moving. Would not recommend.

Decent food, ridiculous prices. It's a chain, of course, so maybe they have no say locally.

I went in planning to get one of their classic roast beef sandwiches, which I've always enjoyed, but after looking over the menu, I decided to switch it up and try their classic hamburger instead. I'm glad I did--it did not disappoint. The burger was fresh, with crisp shredded lettuce, tomato, and their signature sauce, which I usually associate with the roast beef. It worked surprisingly well on the burger and added a nice flavor. The curly fries were a big highlight for me. I've always been a fan, and they were every bit as good as I remembered--even though it's been a couple of years since I last had them. The restaurant itself was clean, and the staff was friendly and efficient, which made it an easy and pleasant stop before getting back on the road. Overall, a solid experience. Not quite perfect, but definitely worth the stop. I'd happily come back again.

We stayed at…read morethe Holiday Inn Express in Evanston(another review)and asked Weston, the evening clerk at the hotel, where to eat. He recommended the Lincoln Highway Tavern. We walked in at about 9:40 pm. The kitche closes at 10. We wouldn't have been surprised to be turned away, but the wonderful woman covering the bar and kitchen, forties, glasses, dark hair, was very friendly and gracious. She also took excellent care of us, despite really having to hustle. I had the pulled pork tacos and my wife had the teriyaki wings. The tacos(I ordered two)were stuffed with pulled pork that was very tasty, and came with crema, a sweet relish salsa, and cheese(a slight upcharge). My tacos came with tortilla chips that were crispy and well salted. My wife liked her wings. If we're passing through again, we would definitely stay in Evanston and have a meal at Lincoln Highway Tavern.

My co-worker and I stopped by this place looking for a light lunch while on our way to Salt Lake…read moreCity. We got chips and salsa, a side of queso, an order of 2 street tacos and an order of flautas. Overall the food was average. While the salsa was fresh and flavorful, the queso dip was obviously out of a can, bright orange and tasteless. The street tacos were shredded beef and carnitas; both were served with double-corn tortillas, fresh chopped onion and fresh cilantro, but the meat fillings were bland, and the carnitas were not as crispy as I like. My co-worker had the flautas (rolled and deep-fried tortillas stuffed with meat and cheese) - she said they were ok but a little greasy. I probably would not eat here again, but will say that the menu is large and it could be we just ordered 'wrong'. Our server was very nice, the interior was clean, and I did enjoy the murals painted on the walls too. This place is located in a strip mall just off the highway in Evanston. Very convenient location with plenty of parking.

Also, can't believe that they charge for refills when the cups are so tiny.

We were seated at a table in far end of the room. Once seated it's hard to get in and out from the wall seat because the table are pretty close together. I ordered the Spinach, Mushroom and Swiss 4 Egg Omelet. They asked me if I wanted 2 or 4 eggs and I chose 4. As a substitute for the potatoes, I opted to choose the avocado which came as a slice 1/2 of avocado. For my toast option, I chose the single pancake, but could also have chosen a scone. The scone wasn't on the menu as a option, so I missed this when I ordered. My omelet was very flavorful, although a bit dense. I attributed that to the 4 eggs fitting into a 2 egg form factor, but I really don't know that for sure. The avocado was a good complement to the omelet and worked out very well. The pancake was delicious. There was syrup on the table and butter came on the plate. I gobbled it right down and thought that I maybe should have got another one. I have eaten here before when I was in the area, and will likely return again when up here. The busy nature of the restaurant is offset by the good quality food.

This place is attached to the bowling alley and we arrived around 2:30 ish and it did look closed from the street since no one was there at that time but they were indeed open so definitely don't let that sway you. The ladies were friendly and welcoming and we found out they make most all the sauces fresh in house. We opted for the Bacon Jam pizza which was a nice change of pace. Homemade bacon jam, steak, grilled onions and green poblano and corn I believe... it was delicious. We also ordered the pickle fries which were hot and crispy and the homemade ranch really was perfect for them. Thank you Moria and Ashley we wish we would still be around on Thursday to come in again for $1 bowling and to try another pizza, but sadly we were just passing through. We were immediately concerned that the menu had changed pretty considerably when comparing the menu that's currently available on Yelp. We switched our previous decisions as to what we may have ordered, and looked at what was available currently. (They apparently have had a change of ownership/management) We ordered a pepperoni, with olives, mushrooms and fresh garlic. It was a really good pizza! The toppings were generous, and the sauce and cheese were delicious! it was the kind of slice that's difficult to get to your plate without leaving a string of yummy mozzarella that refuses to let get of the pie! The crust was really tasty too. They rub the outer crust with garlic butter for a really nice golden and garlicky finish, and although it was close to being a little too brown on the bottom, it still had a really nice crunch and chewy nature. It was a wonderful way to end the day! The folks at the full bar were very sweet and friendly, as was the bartender/manager/owner/chef (?). We will definitely go out of our way to visit again when driving through, maybe we'll even have time to bowl!
