Closed!!! Used to love coming here on lunch break... just fyi they have moved locations as of 5/27/22

This is my go to Cosmo Prof since it's closer than the other locations. I've tried to purchase products before with a debit card and the cashier said that the name on the membership card had to match the debit card, therefore I could not purchase anything. Walked out empty handed and their loss of a $500 sale. Well, I have purchased items my membership card and a different named debit card as long as that employee is not working. She always makes a huge issue over the names. Why is this an issue? I've never had an issue like this at Costco, salon centric, or any store that requires a membership card. As previous reviews say, the female employees are non engaging and not welcoming. The new employees have a way better attitude and actually greet you when you step through the door. I love them! I came in on a Wednesday morning about 11ish with a friend who has a membership here and she asked if I could go up front and ask if they had a certain color. I went up to the cashier who's name I believe is Vaneza? She was NOT helpful at all, I asked her if they had a color in stock and she said "that's all we have" like you really couldn't act like you cared about your job and gone to see. Haven't had a chance to go on in so my actual rating is more so based on their hours. Googled them and online it says they're open late. I showed up at 7:15pm on a Tuesday and they were closed. According to the sign upfront they're open Mon-fri 8-6 sat 8-4 and Sunday's 12-4. The hours are super short , but hey that's my opinion. I nearly killed myself trying to get to this location before they closed and got there 6 minutes before closing time. Unfortunately they decided to close early which is extremely unprofessional because I could have gone to one of the competitors to get what I needed. Last time I'll come to this location. read more

Went in to spend and was attended by a woman named Krystal that was very mean and rude. I asked to see some product behind the register and she replied "you do have a cosmo prof card right"?!Which I do but what kind of customer service is that. She seemed very bothered and at that point I left and went straight to Torrance Salon Centric where they gladly took my money through their patience, professionalism, and just being nice. So some advice from me is do the extra drive to Torrance, no one should be treated like crap cause someone lacks in etiquette and doesn't like their job! read more

Poor customer service, the staff in non-welcoming non-engaging. Work on your customer service experience

I assume that is a manager, otherwise she would be gone immediately : her name is Jeanette, very unprofessional, rude, unhappy and disrespectful. I just moved to Redondo Beach and the most convenient location on my way work is this store. First time, she looked at me as if she had something to say with an unpleasant look when I walked in. I seriously thought she had something to say so I stopped my feet for a moment, then she said nothing and looked away, no "how can I help you", no hello, nothing, nada. I only thought she had a bad day and didn't mind, nothing farther. Second time, the same look, no hello, nothing else but unpleasant look. Third time, I needed to get only one bottle of shampoo real quick, that was on sale due to the change of package that I didn't know until I went to cashier. Jeanette was at the cashier and the price she told me to pay didn't match with the price on a tag I saw, so I told her, then she said nothing but rolled her eyes and grabbed the shampoo I was going to get, grabbed another bottle from a shampoo aisle, come back and said "Because this is a new package!" in my face. How the bleep do I know? I usually don't leave any reviews, but this time I had to. while I am typing this review, I googled this shop and her name, of course it came up on Yelp with a bad review, so I felt better because I am not the one who is crazy! As a customer service, she needs to help customers, be pleasant, at least do not be unpleasant, AT LEAST!!! She needs to be gone, or she needs to get laid, at lease that would make her happier. read more

I would never go into this location. Very unprofessional! My friend had to call me for help due to the lack of trained staff. I could hear the staff yell out that their are closing. I couldn't believe what I heard :( I told her to leave to go another location for better service. I feel that this location should retrain the staff to make customers feel better. read more

This location is always out of stock of Goldwell colors I need. Staff isn't helpful, I'm surprised this location is still open. Don't waste your time stoping in here, order online or go to a different location. read more

Okay, so I am NEVER, EVER the person to do this but I am so bothered by something that happened to me today. I stopped into Cosmoprof in Hawthorne on my way home from work today to just pick up some color for myself. Im probably the only customer in this small store when this happened so everything was LOUD AND CLEAR to me. I was standing in an aisle browsing and two younger girls walk in the door and I hear one of the employees greet them and ask them what they are looking for and one of the girls replies "can you tell me where your strawberry blonde colors are?" And Okay, to a professional...yes this sounds like an absolutely ridiculous question which will right off the bat tell me you are a student and don't know what you are talking about and make me realize you aren't even sure what you need to buy to make this happen. In my mind, I'm like ''Awe, she has no idea maybe I should help her." And I don't even work there! I was a student once five years ago and I remember walking into a beauty supply store and wanting to try EVERYTHING and ANYTHING and the lady working there educated us a little on what we should do and also advised us that we should check with our teachers first to get their opinion that way they werent totally giving us a consultation but also educating us on products a little, after all...not every school carries EVERY brand. Instead this woman proceeds to make these girls feel like total assholes and questions them about their licenses and basically gives them NO help and NO advice except to go back and talk to their stylist. The girl proceeds to tell her that she has her student license and all the employee does is say well you know what, every brand has a strawberry blonde color. Doesn't point her in any direction etc. I'm sorry but, weren't you in cosmo school once before too? Are you now licensed and WORKING at a supply store where your JOB is to treat your customers with respect and maybe help them a little bit and educate them on your products? This isnt what even pissed me off it was the fact that these two sweet girls happened to walk into the aisle that im standing in just plain mortified, talking about how awkward they just felt and that maybe they should go to another professional store that would actually advice them on what brand they think they should use, so they walk out the door. I stand there for another 5-10 minutes and listen to this employee on a damn power trip basically mock these girls to the other employees and rant about how she wasn't going to give them a free consultation and help them and make fun of how they asked for strawberry blonde colors and let them leave "bye felicia" she says. Really? Are we 10 years old? The woman finally walked past me and I literally couldn't help myself and I told her how awful and unprofessional that was. And she looks at me like I'm crazy! "What?" She says. I was like listen, that question sounded ridiculous to me too and I would have advised them to talk to their educator as well, but the last thing you need to be doing is talking shit about your clients/customers while you still have people in your store I could hear the entire thing. We were all in school once, you didn't have to make them feel dumb. And she proceeds to lie straight to my face and make up some bullshit about how they were talking about the auditor that had been in there and also about how those girls probably didn't even have their student licenses. I was like oh the auditor that came in here with a student license wanting help on how to tone her friends hair strawberry blonde? That one? I was standing here the entire time i heard the whole thing. She just stares at me...I was like that was just incredibly unprofessional. She goes, Okay. And walks away from me. Customer service in general is a HUGE thing for me, and this was ridiculous. In ANY job or venue, especially in hospitality...there are always going to be situations that guests/clients piss you off, make you laugh about something stupid they say because they are uneducated about your industry or get you angry...but in no way shape or form should you be talking about these things OUT LOUD to your staff or employees while their are other clients or customers present. I seriously don't understand where people get off sometimes... I left feeling like I was a little out of line to jump in on this but I seriously could not help myself, it just came out. I'm pretty sure this lady is the manager which is even more Alarming. I just cant seem to wrap my head around why there are so many mean girls in our industry. Coming from someone who's working on becoming an educator...it just makes my heart hurt. Educate those who are lower on the totem pole than you in your industry, don't belittle them.We were all there once before. I hate that I have to go into the store. The staff are all unfriendly and seem to always be in a bad mood. It is a professional store only,so unfortunately I am forced to go to the store because they carry the products I use in my salon. The store seems messy dirty and unorganized. I have tried switching over to other product lines just so I don't have to go into the store. read more

I like this cosmoprof. I have never experienced bad customer service from any of these ladies. I have came in there looking a hot ass mess and they still treated me kind. I have called this location on the phone and my questions were answered. The one thing I would recommend is if you see something you want get it because if it's a part of the limited collection it will go fast. read more

Every time I go to this store In Hawthorne they give me a hard time to buy hair products. The manager and the employee tried to help. They got me through the phone, to try to locate my card number, the customer service had me in the system, and refused to give to me my card number.Because I couldn't remember, my address where I used to live long ago. If you have someone in the system is because they belong there. How my name got there??? Dummies everywhere! They made me go home and get the dam card, to get me a very expensive item for my hair. They said NO to my money refusing business from customers. I went home not far and got the F card to finally get my product. Unbelievable they way this people conduct business. Are you sure you're going to stay open doing business acting this bad???It was just a hair reconstructor. Please give me a break! or go out of business. Everyone sells this product anyways! I just went to this store because of the convenience to be closer. But every time that I step there, it is always a problem. I went to this store. I was on my off day so I didn't feel like dressing fancy. The manager: Jeanette was following me around the store and asking me if I had a membership (which I do), question she didn't ask anyone else, and was very rude. I don't know if it was my appearance, my ethnicity or she was just not well instructed on how to treat clients. Horrible customer service!!! Did not inspire me to invest my money there. read more

Right next to the house... this quaint professionals only store had the right mix of product lines to get what most stylists need to be happy and also need to get on with their day. They close promptly at 6 pm so you better ensure you're in the door by 5:55 if you need to shop. Service was nice, no complaints n that department (even though there is was only one girl working) but that's typical of these types of stores. :o) I'll be back. read more

Wow currently waiting in line behind a woman with a cart full of nail polish, each polish has to be rang out individually with a sku number. When i asked if here was anyway we could get this line moving with another checker she said no it's only me and i have to ring them all out individually. The customer service here is terrible. The staff are rude, and not willing to help. Once all of the nail polish was rung up then another member of staff came up to the register ready to ring up customers, she then said i still have one more minute of my break. Not only has this been a problem this time but i have been here for over an hour on another occasion. If you don't bring your cosmo card they will need to call in a hotline to get it, and the last time i was in for that hour long wait it was because that hotline system was down. Lucky for them there are not many beauty supply stores to compete with them. read more

Product selection is great but the staff is horrible, when you walk in instead of a hello you get dirty looks and if you ask for help its worse. There was one girl claudia who was great but the rest need to find new jobs because they are horrible . What a great way to run a business .I dont know about these other reviews but I suggest to ask around. read more

The prod cuts are top line . Hair products are always updated . Great service and pleasant staff . Give them a shot
