Well, it was perfect but I'll let you decide . the lady was very nice and had a background in Pilates which flipped a switch in me. Anyways she put this tight "what looked to be" bikini on me just kidding hahah. But not really. Anyways she escorted me to the 55in cubic meter tanning bed. As I plopped down on the bed that clearly didn't fit me because I'm so lean and skinny. I nearly burned my ass off! Christ almighty! With all the shenanigans that took place, 2 hours later I came out of the tanning bed looking as handsome Matt Damon (before the bbl) haha just kidding. But not really. I tried this salon about a year ago. Prices are expensive, when you walk in you feel as though you're in a poorly decorated child's room. As far as the tanning goes, the beds are all very old. I tried the highest level bed the offered and went in about 5 times and never once left with any trace of color. The prices are at the level of which other local Salons but the quality is not. I'll drive the distance to Beverly to go to Sunbanque. This just isn't worth your money. read more

This salon is huge. Surprising since it's tucked away in a small plaza on Route 1. I'm not big into tanning but will go for the occassional base tan before a vacation or to escape the winter blahs. They have all the latest, modern tanning booths/beds (capsules?) and offer airbrush tanning (haven't tried it yet but thinking I might). The owner is so nice and the place is immaculate. They even have separate men's and women's bathrooms. I've tried some of the latest and greatest equipment after asking the owner for advice (ie my skin type and the goal such as I have 5 days before leaving for vacation and would like a nice base tan pronto without a burn please?). She was very informative and my results were excellent. No burn! Each room is very roomy, there is a paper disposable mat for your feet (I always think about how nasty some places are that have a rug and god knows how many stinky feet having been on it) and a real hand towel (no paper towels) to wipe off after you are finished. Each room also has a nice little mirror so you can fix yourself up before heading out. Highly recommended! I've never made an appt and I've never had to wait. I'm not sure of their regular business hours on other days but note they are open 12-4pm on Sundays. read more

This tanning salon is truly as good as it gets! First off, they are super clean. That's very important to me! I can't even tell you how many tanning salons I've walked into and wanted to immediately turn around and run for the door. To see old, dirty and dusty decor is a tip off to how well the equipment is being cared for - and is just plain gross! Cosmic Tan's decor is adorable. You actually feel like you are in some far off galaxy - trust me, you have to see it to believe it! But the biggest plus is the equipment. They have beds and booths of all different levels and it amazes me how quickly I can achieve the color I want - and it lasts! Their equipment is quality! And the owner is super nice (and the staff). I always feel special because she remembers my name, even if I haven't been in in some time. I live about 25 minutes away and drive there because it's by far the best tanning salon I've ever used. Worth every penny! The only thing that bums me out is this new 10% tax on tanning salons! read more

This place is the best place around! Cheap prices, everything is super clean and it is beautifully decorated. It is the best place I've been in the North Shore area! The owner creates a wonderful experience between her and the customer. She's fully informed and dedicates her time to making each customer feel comfortable. The beds are kept in great condition and very strong. The level 2 bed got me incredibly tan in just a couple of visits! They also have spray tanning which I also recommend. I have been coming to this salon since it first opened when I was back in highschool. The owner,Erin, is a sweetheart and even when I went away to college and came back months later she still greated me by my first name when I walked through the door. The prices are competitive with other salons in the area, ask for the student discount if your a student!!! Always clean, variety of different beds, and never too long of a wait. I've only been here once but I did have a very good experience. Let me start off by saying I am the equivalent of Casper the friendly ghost in female human form. In other words, I have very light skin, blinding at times. I had been tanning at another salon a few times before a trip to Bermuda and have a brief tropical vacation coming up so I wanted to prepare my skin. With all that being said the woman behind the front desk was very kind and informative. She didn't look at me like I was some pale freak or exude any form of negative attitude, which was greatly appreciated. We went over packages, I chose the one I wanted and she suggested a time and showed me to my room. If tanning is your thing, I highly recommend this salon. Bottom line it's clean, friendly, affordable (I think), and has decent hours. I was having second thoughts about the whole tanning thing (mainly the associated health risks) and they were very kind, helpful and accommodating. read more
