Beds are great, I always do the $115 for a month before I travel for vacation and ALWAYS get a nice base tan with great color without ever using any lotions. I just got back from tanning at ENVY Tanning Salon and I am VERY pleased with my results! The guy at the front desk was wicked nice. He showed me around and brought me to all the different level beds/booths. Told me all about them. He was very helpful. I did the level 4 Silverbullet because it's the most popular and we figured it would be a good bed for me to start out with. I went in for the full 12 minutes and when I came out, I wasn't red! My tan was actually a tan, not a burn! And I even use a tingle lotion. I'm definitely coming back to continue with my tanning! read more

long story short: This place is AWESOME. long story, not short: If you've followed my reviews you would know I moved up to Amesbury from the Boston area a few years ago and I've been looking for a decent tanning salon ever since. I've endured countless sketchy tanning beds in local places here, mostly places that also serve as hair salons. dislike. I want a tanning salon that just does tanning, is that so much to ask for? Needless to say my search has been awful... that is until I came across Envy while doing an internet search recently (I was in a panic, since I'm getting married and I do NOT want to resemble Casper the friendly ghost in my wedding pictures... but I digress). Now I'm no stranger to tanning salons, I've tanned anywhere from Tanorama on Newbury St. to all the local chains in the suburbs right outside of Boston (Revere Tanning, Hollywood Tans, etc).. so I have a not-so-healthy resume to compare Envy too. Envy is a tanning-only salon that is instantly welcoming and EXTREMELY clean. The girl at the desk took time to show me every type of bed and gave me a salon tour before I picked which package I wanted. (They have packages starting as low as $30 a month for their Level 1 beds!!) Most of the beds they have are incredible, I did a Level 4 my first time and was instantly tan walking out of the salon... you could say I'm in love. The beds all seem to be the latest and greatest, they have a brand new stand-up bed that has an 8min max limit that looks amaaazing, I can't wait to try it. Needless to say this place is beyond trendy - and is easily one of the best places I've tanned at to date. Envy is located in Plaistow right off of 125 in a strip mall, if you know where Early Bird Cafe is (most Plaistow people will - and if you don't know - you should!), its in the same plaza. Plenty of parking. Although its a little further of a drive than I was hoping to go for to tan, it's well worth it. I highly recommend. read more

Unfortunately I had a very poor experience here. I had a spray tan done here the week before 4th of July. I have had many spray tans done before but my normal person was not available so I thought I would try Envy. I called ahead of time and made an appointment. When I got there the person working was very nice and asked what kind of tan I was looking for. I explained since I am very light skinned I just wanted a light tan so it looked more natural. She had mentioned that the tanner was actually clear but they put bronzer in te solution just so they can see where the tanning solution goes. As I was being sprayed the solution was running down my legs in huge drips. Then started running in drips all over my stomach. My hands were becoming blotchy. When I left I was completely brown and the drips had dried down my leg in streaks. I called my normal spray tan person asking what to do. She had me send her photos and told me that I needed to wash it off because if the bronzer showed up in streaks that means the solution will be streaks. I jumped in the shower but only used water so I wouldn't throw off the PH balance with soap. Majority of the tan would not wash off. I was streaky all weekend and it was so embarrassing because I was going away for the weekend and in a bikini at the beach. I emailed the salon and received no response at all. Very unimpressed. I would have at least liked some type of response or my money back. You can see in my pictures what it looked like after. read more

This place is great! Moved to the area a little over two years ago and hard to find a new place to tan. I tried a few others in the area but no of them compared to Envy Tan! The employees are very friendly and explained about the different types of beds and prices. I hadn't been tanning in over a year so I was quite pale. After going everyday for about a week straight I noticed I had gotten some great color all ready. Not only is the place super clean but the owner Mike cares about his customers! My daughter's gone here for a few years. My husband has cut my hair most of my married life, but the last few year I've had my hair cut here by the only Asian hairdresser there. I like the style she puts on me. Usually only $30-40 bucks. Not bad, considering my first haircuts were $25 at L'elegance on Newbury St....35 years ago. Holy crap! I've never colored my hair or done highlights, subursting, etc, and Sun suggested I wait since when you start with that stuff you have to keep doing it pretty often to keep from looking skunky. All guys have to do is shave all their hair off. Not fair. read more

This tanning salon is my favorite and I've been to many over the years. What makes Envy stand out is the quality and types of equipment you can choose from and cleanliness of the salon. Most places around have limited options with pretty standard equipment, Envy has some high end newer models that are amazing! I love tanning booths that are quick, I want to get out before I get too hot. I only wish I was closer to me since I moved and now it's too out of my way to go to on a regular basis. Omg, if you are an experienced tanner, or not. This place is nothing but a ripoff! For starters, there is zero level 7. High pressure beds typical go to 5 or maybe 6. Second, I have gone twice here...that is all I needed to figure out what their game plan is. The exuberant prices lead you to believe it is the end all be all in tanning, which I happen to find subpar at very best. I have been tanning since 1979, and I have been in the industry since then and also certified by a number of training. The prices they ask are placed their to just cover their overhead....I have never seen in all my day prices this high for what you are receiving. Their equipment is now older and does not explain these prices. Now, I am not affiliated with either of the following, but if you want state of the art equipment with so much better results at a fraction of the price, go to Amazing Tans on Elm in Manchester or Revere Tan in Tewksbury Ma. I cannot day enough about Envy!!! I have been to many tanning salon and this by far blows them all out of the water! A year ago I was getting married and had a dress that showed spots where my tan lines had developed throughout the summer and I went in and spoke to Michael and he came up with a plan for me in order to completely eliminate the tan lines and give me that perfect glow for my wedding day! I still go now and he is always so helpful even when I come in on two wheels needing to be immediately tan he has a way to make it all work. The place is great! Love this place. Clean, friendly, good results. Only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is hours and price. Should be open at least 9-9 and 9-5 on weekends. And prices are pretty high. I mean $175 for for unlimited level 7 which is the IDOME I think. I am used to paying 1/2 that for the same bed equally maintained. But I guess they can charge more cause there is no competition around. I will still pay it cause it is a nice salon but just wish it was less. read more

This review is coming from the mother of a teenage patron who used this salon. I'm reviewing this tanning salon based not on the quality of their tanning results, but more on their customer service, which is equally as important. The first incident (which I may have let slide by, until the second incident happened) was when I called the salon to ask if my daughter was in the tanning bed yet. We live minutes away, and it was very likely that I was able to catch her before going in to the bed. After asking by her name if she was already in the tanning bed, I was about to say why I was calling for her, when the gentleman (clearly the wrong word in this situation) asked what I wanted "because he had people waiting there". It took him longer to ask the question, than for me to give the answer, and if he had simply been 'customer service polite' he would have gotten off the phone a lot sooner, which seemed to be his goal. It was pretty important that I get a hold of my daughter, otherwise I would not have called. The second incident, and to me the more damaging to the reputation of the business was when my daughter (on the morning of her prom) had an appointment at the opening time of the business. She arrived on time, with the salon not open for business yet. She left, went to a local coffee shop, and returned, with the salon still not open. So apparently they blew her off? I understand things come up, but even later (days later) she was not contacted with an apology. I would rethink visiting this salon if you don't want to feel like you've been walked all over. I take the time to thank a lot of people if they have done a good job at whatever their job/service is. It is my way to highlight the positive. This time, this salon needs a bit of a wake up call to improve on their customer service. read more

i just recently started tanning at envy and i love it ive always used the tanning beds at my gyms and they have been ok but i dont get as tan as i would like so i was driving around saw envy did a walk in and decided to buy a month which was pretty cheap it was $33 for the month and i was so pale i was glowing in the dark and ive gone twice in a level 1 bed and im already happy with my tan i highly recommend this place if you want a good quick tan read more
