I had my first and only spray tan experience at Blushtan this week. My bridal shower is tomorrow and I can't begin to express how stressed I'm feeling knowing what I'm going to look like. I called several times before scheduling since they offer a "bridal consult" as well as emailed and I should have known better when I never got a hold of someone then. I scheduled online to try a spray tan despite the lack of communication. I went in and explained that it was my first time, I was nervous and what type of skin I have etc. I was re-assured that I would love the tan and have no issues. I was very specific of what I did/did not want. I followed every recommendation and aftercare instruction I was given, however I noticed the day after that several areas were looking very patchy and streaky. Some areas of my body are the total opposite and are so dark and orange I cannot get it off no matter what I do. Also, I am missing entire areas that should be tan but were missed (I think it looked like they sprayed it because there was a little residue on the area immediately after?) I've purchased tan remover, scrubbed and tried every home remedy possible. Knowing they wouldn't answer, the day after my tan I physically went to the location but the doors were locked during business hours. I have called several times, left a voicemail and emailed asking for help with absolutely no response. Not only do I wish I could get the money back that I spent on this, but I wish I listened to my gut and never went here. I've spent more time and money trying to fix my skin than it was worth and I won't do it again. I would highly caution any brides considering going to this location if you don't want added stress. read more

I've had a number of spray tans with Blushtan (and at the West Peabody location most frequently) and have been extremely happy every single time! You can't beat the color matching and the natural fade. That's why without any hesitation I booked my tan 2 days before my wedding day. Unfortunately, it was absolutely DOWN POURING the day of my tan which initially had me worried. I met with Kate who I never had the pleasure of meeting before. She was an absolute gem and made me feel so comfortable. She never rushed me through anything and asked multiple times after the tan if I was pleased with every little thing. She asked the style of my wedding dress and had suggestions of where to add a little extra glow. Afterwards, she even walked me to my car under an umbrella and opened the door for me so I did not need to touch the wet door handle!!! Just top notch service all around. My tan was phenomenal and so natural looking. I got so many compliments about it the day of my rehearsal (1 day after tan) and the day of my wedding (2 days after tan.) It lasted through a good portion of my honeymoon too. After my pre-wedding experience I will definitely not go anywhere else in the future! Thank you Kate!!! read more

I have gone to this location multiple times and have always liked the service, BUT I had an appointment with Kate that I accidentally forgot to cancel. It was my first time missing an apt so I called to see if there was anything I could do about automatically being charged for the full tan. Kate was EXTREMELY rude on the phone. I understood it was my mistake and so I didn't call in a fury. I just wanted to see what my options were. I did not deserve to be spoken to with a nasty and "sorry it is what it is" attitude. I wanted to like this place but I have to say I was not impressed and I have had several spray tans at other places. The woman who did my spray tan talked extremely fast and it seemed rushed. I got the super express tan which I said I wanted to be a 6/7 level of tan. I left feeling like I was at a 9 or 10. It was a purple/orange color which I have never seen a color like this before in other spray tans. I knew it would fade after I rinsed, but I did not feel informed about the rinsing off process and exactly when to do it to get the color I wanted. Since I was unhappy with the color and nervous about it being too dark I rinsed it off after 2 hours instead of 3 (which she recommended) and it completely faded off. Looked like I didn't even get a spray tan and I paid $80 for it. I would recommend maybe not getting the super express tan and just letting a normal one develop or just going elsewhere. read more

Ummm- KATE IS THE BOMB! First of all she has THE best personality. You can tell she loves what she does. The place is beautiful. This was my first spray tan ever and of course- was worried about being orange but my sister in law went previously and she looked beautiful! I am not a novice when it comes to spray tanning, I have been doing it for years. But when my regular spray tan salon was closed right before my vacationI, I figured I would give Blushtan another try. My previous onetime experience with them was less than satisfactory, but thought maybe with the passage of time they had improved. I was wrong. I had an appointment at 9:30am the day before my trip. I explained exactly the look I wanted to achieve and thought the girl was listening. During the drying off process, I noticed how white the back of my calves looked and asked to be sprayed in those places again. The girl simply brushed me off by replying "oh everyone says that...but they are dark enough." I also felt my abdomen was to light, to that she just made a face as if I didn't know what I was talking about. I went home and five hours later, I noticed both of my calves and my abs where much whiter than my thighs and arms. I called BlushTan back only to reach an answering machine. I left a detailed message which up until the time of writing this review, they have not returned my call. I would not recommend this spray tan salon to anyone. Their costumer service skills are severely lacking and the quality of product is below average. read more
