I followed my amazing long time stylist Angela Serino here to Sizzle, you absolutely can not go wrong with making an appointment with her or any of the ladies @ Sizzle. They are professional, educated about their craft, and Angela is truly a color guru. Her portfolio speaks for itself. My friends and I have been tanning here for a few years, it's a little farther than a handful of other tanning options but this place is the cheapest and it gives you the best color. I tried a few places in Salem and Swampscott and i payed triple for what I pay at sizzle and I didn't get as dark. If you live close or don't mind driving, sizzle will give you the color you want in a timely fashion. All of the younger girls who work here are super nice and its a big enough place where I rarely ever have to wait (I use level 2, level 1 seems to have more people waiting). Another thing I like is that I don't have to make an appointment, I always walk in, which is pretty rad considering my life is pretty unpredictable. read more

I can't review the tanning, as I've never been here to tan "yet" but I can review my favorite artist, hairdresser Angela Serino, who has recently just made the move over from the Hair Lounge in Saugus to here; Sizzle Tanning. 2 years ago, I was in a bind right before leaving for a big cruise vacation. All of my hairdresser girlfriends had no availability that week and I was crunched on time. So I came to my trusted Yelp app and started searching local hair salons. I called a bunch, begging for someone to take me in asap for an appointment. Little did I know that I would stumble across an angel; an incredibly sweet, talented woman/artist/mother and she took me in right away! This woman is a TOP color specialist. Her creations are gorgeous and her cuts are the best! The techniques she uses are the best and she knows her products through & through. She listens to her clients needs and is willing to push the envelope, where other stylists might not. But above all else, her energy is warm & inviting. Almost like finding a long lost best friend you never knew you were missing! Promise, you won't leave disappointed, as she wouldn't allow you too!! Love this tanning salon ! The staff is always so nice and friendly and the options for the beds are better than most other tanning salons. I use the Alpha or stand up and get so many compliments on the color of my tan. I've been to tanning salons in the past and never get the same bronze color that I get in the sun except for here. I'm not big into products so can't comment on that. read more

As many don't know, Sizzle actually offers full hair salon services. I've been going to the superb Angela Serino for over 6-7 years now and I honestly would not trust anyone else with my hair. I've followed her from her work at Moni J Bella to her work at The Hair Lounge to her work at Sizzle now. She's FANTASTIC at any type of hair, specifically fantasy coloring and platinum blondes. Angela has taken me from box black dye all the way to a beautiful, silvery platinum. She's never been judgmental and always so kind and understanding, especially to teens who want some fun colors for the first time! Overall, she's a crazy talented and hard-working hairdresser who deserves all the clientele. Definitely check her out, her hair Instagram being @angelacutslocks . This place is a joke! There are 12 year old girls working the desk who are super rude and careless. They're on their phone the whole time they check you in, they never smile, their rude and half the time I'm looking for them so I can be checked in. This place used to be a great place to tan at, but it's gone way down hill. I've even had the pleasure of meeting the manager. Whoa! She's a head case. Can tell she has control issues. I watched as she reprimanded the worker in front of me. Just sad and sloppy to do in front of a customer. I send everyone elsewhere. I still have sessions, but I'd rather jump in front of moving vehicles than go back there. Don't waste your time or your money. read more

Good LORD this place has gone downhill. I walked in and nobody was behind the counter, so I stood and waited. And waited. And waited. Finally I walk around the corner and call out to the girl. She comes over to the desk. I ask her about the different levels and the cost for a single session. She blankly stares at the computer to look up prices. Then I ask her about the lotions. She had no idea. I ask her about the different levels and she had no information which makes me think she has no training. I tell her I'm not going straight home so I don't want to smell like anything too strong. She pulls down a packet. I then go into the booth and put the lotion on. I now smell like chocolate. There were no towels in the room. The paper towel dispenser in the bathroom didn't work. As I am walking out, there was no "how did it go" or anything for that matter ... I said goodbye to her, and she looks up and said "have a good day". Never again. It's a shame, because when I used to live here and had a membership, it was a class act establishment. I've been to a lot of tanning salons over the years, but I keep going back to Sizzle becaus of it's convenient location and the fact that I get a great tan there. I use their level 2 beds, which are pretty sweet becausethey acually talk. The salon is big, clean, and well taken care of. The only downside of this place is the service, which is, in a nutshell, atrocious. Most of the girls who work there have zero customr service skills, and instead of giving you a friendly greeting, you are welcomes by a bitchy attuitude or a blank stare until you tell them your last name and how it's spelled. The employees at Sizzle never smile and act like they hate life. You would think that if you were dealing with people and trying to conduct a BUSINESS then you would expect the people who work there to at least treat the customers like they are valued. There is only one pleasant person that works there, a middle-aged woman who presumably owns the place because everyone else who works there is much younger. I walk out of this place every time rolling my eyes because the girls behind the desk are usually standoffish bitches 90% of the time. read more

If I could give this place zero stars I would. I can't believe the level of disrespect and rudeness I just experienced from the closing associate. The tanning salon closes at 6 and last tan is at 5:45, I arrived at 5:46 after driving 40 min and she refused to let me in and said she had to leave when the place wasn't even closed yet. When I signed up for my package I was told I just needed to be there before 6, it's very unprofessional to change up facts like that. I would have never signed up and feel like the associate mislead me just to sign up when I called asking for info. Not only that, they never even clean this place in between tans which especially appalling in the middle of a pandemic. I even tried asking to buy a lotion to protect my skin while getting in the beds and the associate working told me "yeah I'm not sure how this works." For something that has such health risks, this is really disappointing. I wouldn't never recommend this place to a friend due to the awful level of customer service, the lack of sanitary precautions taken especially during a global health pandemic and lack of knowledge on a service that has serious health risks. The place is clean..the staff are friendly ..I mean I feel safe enough to get naked and go into a bed for 12 mins. .the overall environment is good... It's an affordable place where you can get a great tan in a quick amount of time...all the extra garbage that people put in their review makes no sense ...as it was obvisiously good enough for you to tan there.no one forced you to tan there and maybe you just feel entitled, Sounds like ya'll need more then a tan. OK, this place has really good beds. I am Irish & Italian so I start off really pale then I get really dark. As someone who used to tan literally everyday I know how my skin reacts to the tanning beds. My 1st visit went really well- awesome, friendly staff, went in for my 5 minutes then went on my way. The 2nd time I went was another story which is why i only put 4 stars. I went at night so it was a different girl working..1st of all, she answered her cell phone when I was mid-sentence...is that ok in any business setting..? I don't think so..then I told her I wanted to do 5 minutes again because I was a little pink & she insisted I go in for longer.. I told her I'd fry..she said I have to go longer or I won't get a tan.. I said again that I'd fry..then she said I'm going to put you in for 7 minutes..so instead of continuing this back & forth with her I said fine & I'd just get out if I felt like I was burning.. bottom line, I'm the color of a LOBSTER lol..my own fault I guess I should have been watching the clock instead of expecting to relax & enjoy my tanning experience like anybody else....Overall, I do like this salon, the beds are great, staff is great (mostly)..I'm just going to chock the one irritating experience up to me needing to be more assertive read more

My fiancé, & I have recently started tanning here more because it was closer to our home. We thought the prices were a little more than the previous place we had been going to, but it was a lot more convenient for us & closer. We have always gone in the S-Class beds, & at Sizzle the equipment seem to be good, & the same to what we have always tanned in before. A few of the S-Class beds though do have face lamps that don't work all the time. In some of the beds a couple of the face bulbs don't go on at all, & in another one the face bulbs don't go on until half way through. The staff is never too friendly, and don't seem to always be very helpful or that happy to be there. They do allow you to take & use as many towels as you like or need, which is nice. They also have a pretty big selection of lotions at good prices, & have good deals on them. My biggest issue with Sizzle is that one night going tanning I showed up 10 mins before the closing time stated. I even checked the website before I went, & it even stated that they closed at 7pm on Sundays in the window. As I proceeded to go into the salon the girl working stopped me at the door not even letting me in. She had said that they were closed, & she could not let me tan. I went on to say how I checked the website, & made sure to ask again what time they closed. She said 7pm, but then said that the last time to tan is allowed 15 mins prior to closing. My issue is that the previous salon we went to also had this term, but stated to their customers so you were aware of it. If you are a paying customer I feel as though if a business states they close at a certain time without any other stipulations to that you should be able to tan up until that time. I mean it would have the staff there 15 mins more allowing them to finish up their closing duties. I go there to tan, & as long as I come out as a bronzed beauty I will still go there do to its convience. Hopefully their customer service improves, & get a little better with doing whatever it takes to make their paying, repeat customers happy& satisfied. BEWARE!!!! Sign up for three month tan, being charged once a month to tan. Never informed that it had to be cancelled. 6 months later I realize they are still charging me every month and will not refund me money even though I stopped tanning after 3 month commitment. Walking in to this tanning salon it appears to be very high end ... having just moved to the area i was looking for a new place to get my GTL on ironically it is next to a gym and laundromat ! Anyways .... I was greeted by this high school blonde girl who barked out "whats your last name!!!" I had told her i had never been here before and was looking to become a member. She didnt show me around the place, or even try to upsell me any packages, she pointed at a specials list on the counter and told me to pick one of those. The tropical bed (level 1 ) was unlimited for 18 dollars a month, i thought it was a good deal and she told me that those beds suck and that i will never be able to tan in them because there is a wait, all of this said while she was texting on her cell phone. I was already there and just opted to buy one session in a level three. 15 dollars i might add for 12 minutes. When i entered the room it was oddly dark definetly no where near as high end as the entrance. once in the bed the buttons felt like they were going to fall off and to top it of THERE WAS NO MUSIC PLAYING!!! needless to say it was the longest 12 minutes of my life !!!!!! it was almost 100 degrees outside that day and then on top of the heat in the tanning bed i was sweating like crazy ! all of you girls no how hot it can be in those beds. So i get out of the bed and they do not have any towels or towel service so i had to put my clothes back on all sweaty and nasty ! I was PO ! On my way out the door i thanked the bimbo at the front desk and she ignored me and kept chatting away on her cell. Normally i dont care about customer service but this place was really lacking. This place has the worst customer service i have ever seen. I asked to go in the bed for 7 minutes the employee put me in for 15. I was burnt and had to then miss tanning.Then i went in with a broken ankle and they wanted me to walk through the parking lot to a back door to tan because they were getting the floor done during business hours.Or i could pay to upgrade to another bed. Best tanning salon,i get so dark and theres so many beds to choose from and its a bit expensive but its so worth it!
