Do NOT service your car here. I dropped off my fleet vehicle 4 weeks ago for 3 recalls and a maintenance issue. The maintenance issue needed approval by my company's lease plan which they got 3.5 weeks ago. What is the status of my vehicle? I could not tell you as I am being lied to and given the run around. Shoot. I should have checked Yelp before dealing with these people. Here's just a little sample from my experience. I leased a brand-new Ford 150 Lariat Lightning with a MSRP of $80k. You'd expect when you spend that kind of coin on a brand-new vehicle, you'd get white-glove service when it needs attention, right? Well, not with Corwin Ford. For starters, I've never had a dealership where I've purchased a brand-new vehicle from them and they do not offer a courtesy vehicle when my vehicle is in their shop. That's crazy to me. Secondly, when I scheduled service for the many active recalls on the truck, I told the scheduler that I would need those items fixed. He was very dismissive and wrote none of it down. The best he could do was say something along the lines of "we can tell them that the day you bring it in". So now I am waiting several days after dropping the truck off because they had to order parts for something that should have been ordered weeks ago. Thirdly, the website is terrible. The only options for scheduling service are generic drop down items like "10,000 mile service" and there are no specific boxes for recalled items. Fourth, on day one of service I was told that I'd get updates on the progress of the vehicle. That was a lie. I got updates on day 1 and then nothing since. If you're considering buying from Corwin Ford, especially dealing with Preston Pheasant, the used car manager, think twice. My wife and I purchased a used 2017 F350 dually for our construction business. The truck had an obvious issue: the front third of the bed was bare metal where an external fuel tank used to sit. During the sale, both Preston Pheasant and our salesman Clifford promised they would "do it right" by stripping the bed and properly applying a fresh liner. Preston Pheasant himself told us it would adhere right if it was done that way. A week later when I brought the truck back for the liner, Preston Pheasant suddenly changed his story and denied ever saying it. Both my wife and I were there during the sale--we know exactly what he said. Instead of doing the job right, they sprayed new liner directly over the old material. Now it's already cracking. That's not just sloppy work, that's outright dishonesty. For context, my business has been around 11 years, and we purchase 6-8 vehicles on average. We also direct our construction clients on where to buy trucks when we wrap and brand their fleets. We've had excellent experiences at places like Dolan RAM. But Corwin Ford, and especially Preston Pheasant, represent the worst kind of dealership behavior: lying to customers, throwing a fit when called out, and failing to back up their word. In my company, my word is my bond. It's not about the first sale--it's about lifelong clients and trust. Preston Pheasant clearly doesn't understand that. Clifford backed him up, which shows this isn't a one-off mistake, it's a culture problem at Corwin Ford. We will absolutely be letting our construction partners know where NOT to shop at our upcoming roundtable meeting. I might be a simple guy, but I wanted a new truck at a reasonable price and I wanted a reasonable amount for my trade in which was mechanically fine but a work truck so not winning any beauty contests. I worked with Anthony Leader and we got pretty much everything done on the phone that we could before I showed up. It took a bit of time in the store for various people to do their thing (his manager, the finance manager) but not excessive. One thing I really liked about Anthony is that he walked out and checked to see if the vehicle I was interested in was on the lot, I want to say within 5 minutes of me calling. That was a good move because a dealership in Vegas lost my business because the truck I wanted, and that the Vegas dealership was talking to me about, turns out wasn't on the lot and those guys really wasted my time. Again, I just wanted a new truck at a reasonable price with a reasonable trade in value. My trade in was valued pretty much at KBB pricing and I was fine with that. The Corwin Ford location is really nice too. My wife waited around for a bit while I went through the process and there were comfy chairs, nice bathrooms, a kids play area, etc. I'd definitely recommend Corwin Ford, and give Anthony a holler, he's a straight shooter. read more

Held back from making a review but after scheduling my third appointment in less than a year of owning a Ford Focus (horrible choice on my part) all I can say is this has been by far the worst experience I've ever had. Bought my car at 63k miles and it has 83k on it now, I've been able to drive it for about 10 months with the car being in the shop for almost 6 months throughout the couple of years. I've now gone through corporate to escalate the situation because this has been horrible. If it wasn't for Micheal Ost I would've never gone back. He's a top notch guy wish he was somewhere else because this man is solid and hard working. The mechanics working there are terrible, the shop is horrific, they don't have any staff to keep up with the volume I made an appointment and my car didn't get in until a week later. They have 100 salesman but no one in the shop and their salesperson are lurking the entire time you're there. Willing to offer a deal on my car but as soon as I had questions no would reply. Disappointment and dissatisfaction don't even explain what I felt working with ford. The worst of the worst. I rather would've gone to 4th street and hired a tweaker than to ever go back to ford. Never again will I ever buy a vehicle from here new or old. The worst of the worst except for Micheal. God bless his soul and I hope he gets a huge raise for dealing with what he's dealt with. If you've had a good experience well god bless you are lucky but all the other reviews are right. Don't step foot into this place so beyond disappointed in this dealership and I will never get comped for the time, money and effort I have spent here. Only writing this review because I've been pretty upset with the service here multiple times now. I'm currently still waiting for a response from about 5 months ago after an oil change one of the techs or mechanics left grease on my steering wheel and discolored and cracked the leather. Before that I had an issue with my transmission I let them know when I brought the truck in and it was still under warranty they did nothing and my warranty is now passed coverage strategically. Similar thing happened with my engine startup. I kept telling them I was getting a really bad noise almost every other startup they told me it was the turbos and that it was normal a few months went by and I was finally able to record it. luckily Jairo took me serious and he got it taken care of. I asked about a recall they said I had to call and do all the work. I called and the Ford warranty department told me Ford should have handled it. When i took my car in for service for my stereo turning off randomly I got it back my cruise control lane change was stuck in the on position. they told me it wasn't related. I had asked for some kind of compensation for a rental. they told me it wasn't an option. I asked to speak to a manager and they somehow in less than 5 minutes had a rental ready for me. Very impressed with Corwin Ford's new facility on S. Virginia in Reno. It is a beautiful business complex. My car was in for two recalls. Dan was my service writer. He was welcoming and professional. After quickly taking care of my order, he took me on a tour of the complex. The service area is clean and bright. There are monitors indicating the progress and service on all vehicles. Next to the service writers area is the fleet section and around the corner a large beautiful new car showroom. There is a reception area at the front to welcome customers. A beautiful blue Ford GT is on display. In the area next to the showroom is a comfortable, well lit waiting area. A cozy fireplace, drink area with complimentary snacks, clean restrooms and a playroom with tablets for children. There are over 30 televisions in the large area. Tons of parking and easy directions to navigate you around the property. Very nice business establishment in South Reno. Well done! Thanks Dan for your great service. I must add that every person who assisted me in my recent interaction walked me to my destination. They did not just point and tell me where to go. Even an attendant out in the back lot gave me exact directions to get to the service center. Get your car serviced elsewhere I was told the service would take a few days, but the car was ready within two hours. Had I been given accurate information, I would have waited. We live out of town and arranging transportation to and from Reno is not easy especially with a child. I then received a text stating the vehicle would be delivered to an old address without anyone confirming it with me. I had to call and cancel that myself. I was never proactively notified that the car was finished. After expressing frustration, I was told I would receive a follow-up call, which never happened. I had to call again the next morning. I informed them that I could not pick up the car until the weekend. He informed me the keys would be left with the dealership for pickup. We drove all the way to Reno with a sick child, only to be told the keys were not there. So I had to arrange an uber ride the next day. What was most disappointing was the complete lack of ownership or remorse from the service advisor named Michael O. when we finally picked up the car. The entire experience showed poor communication, disorganization, and no accountability for the inconvenience caused. read more

I had a mostly positive experience with this dealership, particularly with Carson ( the sales guy) and Carter (the finance representative) and the reception team is lovely. They were professional, courteous, and easy to work with. That said, the overall transaction took far longer than expected. I arrived at 1:10 p.m., completed all paperwork by approximately 4:30 p.m., and did not receive the vehicle until around 7:00 p.m. (this was a cash deal) Additionally, I was only informed at the very end of the process that there was just one key for the car, which was disappointing. When I raised these concerns, a manager who introduced himself as Jordan Hidalgo (I don think that's his actual name since he said he didn't have a card) came over. Unfortunately, that interaction significantly detracted from the experience. His demeanor was unprofessional and dismissive, and rather than addressing the issues directly, he attempted to place blame on staff. The interaction felt unnecessarily rude and lacked basic customer service professionalism. With better transparency and more professional management follow-up, this could have been a very strong experience. I hope this feedback is taken constructively. read more

Very disappointed in our experience with Corwin Ford, and I'm hoping someone from dealership leadership or corporate will actually review this. We purchased a 2020 Ford F-250 from Corwin Ford on 3/21 and traded in our Ram pickup. We had previously had a great experience with Corwin GMC, so we felt comfortable doing business with another Corwin dealership. Unfortunately, this experience was the complete opposite. We spent hours at the dealership and did not receive the "guaranteed" trade-in value we were quoted over the phone. That was frustrating, but the real issue came shortly after. Less than 41 hours after purchasing the truck (on 3/23), it broke down while we were 4.5 hours away from home while handling matters at a children's hospital. When we reached out for help, we were transferred between multiple people, placed on hold for long periods of time, and even hung up on. During that process, we learned that our "Certified Blue Vehicle" did not have an active warranty--even though we were told the warranty should be effective immediately after signing the paperwork. We were told they would "work on activating it," but no one stepped up to help us while we were stranded. I asked to speak with the general manager and was told he was on vacation. I requested that a message be left so he could contact me when he returned, but I never received a call. We waited more than 10 hours hoping Corwin Ford would help resolve the situation. Instead, a competing dealership stepped in, treated us far better, and helped us get into a rental car so we could make it home safely. They showed more concern for our situation than the dealership that sold us the vehicle. We were also told that Corwin would be sending us a check to cover the cost of the tow. We never received said check. As of now, the only person who has reached out is our salesperson--who had no idea the truck had broken down because there appears to be little to no communication within the dealership. Our salesperson was great, but the way the rest of this situation was handled was unacceptable. We were fully prepared to continue doing business with Corwin in the future, but after this experience, that will not be happening. At this point, almost 3 months later, no one has contacted us from leadership. read more

They guaranteed us to purchase the vehicles the negotiated price as we did not want to waste time diving them without them guaranteeing an amount. We drove the 20 miles there with 2 vehicles (so we would have a vehicle to bring us back home) and when we arrived, they tried to haggle us down another $1.5k! I'm so annoyed with them... but I guess playing these dumb games is how they are able to build a new multi-million dollar facility and have another few million $ of high-end vehicles in the showroom. Yes they replaced the engine after months of arguing and not having a car to drive because apparently they don't have loaner vehicles. Now a year later I have called for three weeks straight just to get my warranty information and I can't seem to get a call back. On top of that a month ago and I called to ask how to go about getting my Audi repaired because when the engine blew up they took the car and sublet it to Audi for the repair. This time they told me to take the car to Audi and they would do the work. I take the car to Audi and Corwin tells Audi I have to take the car to Corwin to sublet to Audi. So I call Corwin again and they tell me to take it to Audi while telling Audi I have to take it to them. This is the worst experience I have ever had when buying a car and dealing with a dealership. "The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results." For over three years, we've been bringing our brand new 2021 Ford F-150 to Corwin Ford of Reno for the same unresolved electrical issue. This is now the seventh time maybe even more it's been nonstop stop where we have made an appointment, coordinated drop-off, and rearranged our lives--only to have the truck sit all day without being looked at. Today was no different. Dropped off at 7:30 AM, and by 5 PM the truck was still "waiting to be seen." Why even accept appointments if there's no plan to honor them? Ford seems to forget that giving up a vehicle--especially one we paid $65,000 for--is stressful and inconvenient. The lack of urgency or respect for customers' time is beyond frustrating. Even worse, we were assured by Ford corporate that an engineer would be assigned to help diagnose the issue. But today, the dealership claimed they had no record of any communication with Ford corporate--just another dead end in a long list of broken promises. The only "fix" we've received in three years? Software updates. Three of them. None of which solved the problem. The issue is still there, still under warranty, and still unresolved. We've been more than patient. We've followed the process. What does it take to get a vehicle we paid top dollar for to actually work the way it's supposed to? Ford and Corwin Ford of Reno--you need to do better. Your customers deserve better. Hopefully we will get resolution as we go through the process of a Lemon Law dispute #Nevada's Lemon Law (NRS 597.600-597.688) Problems must occur within 1 year after the delivery date or before the warranty expires, whichever comes first - That checks The issue must substantially impair the use, value, or safety of the vehicle- That checks To qualify, one of the following must apply: The dealer or manufacturer attempted to repair the defect 4 or more times. Way more than 4 times so that also checks. The vehicle was out of service for 30 or more cumulative days due to repairs. - Over the last 4 years, this checks. We would have to wait. We asked to talk to a manager and were told we could leave a voice mail but she wouldn't get back to us for days. We purchased a used Tesla X from this dealership which they said was inspected and test driven. By the time we got the vehicle, we noticed the front end, pulling to the sides and vibration of the imbalanced wheels. There was also loud knocking and vibration when the car was accelerating that the delivery employee did not inform us about when they brought the car to our place. When we requested reimbursement for the repairs to the balance and for Tesla to repair the front axle, the dealership refused to pay the cost of making the car work properly. The service department sucks. On two occasions my wife has brought her Ford Explorer in to be worked on. The first time was for a factory/ manufacturing recall for the roof rack. The technicians didn't fix the issue and even caused more issues from causing her roof to leak during rain and snow (which is extreme in the winter in Lake Tahoe) from their "repair job." The second time, today June 30th 2025, they had us drop her car off at 9am. After seven hours they hadn't even touched her car. It took their service department a year to book this appointment, and they even mouthed off and gave her attitude after she said they caused the leak from their faulty repair job. Don't get your new or used Ford Vehicle's services here. They have horrible customer service and do not take accountability for their poor repair jobs and do not care about convincing their customers. Just go to a mechanic. Very poor job Corwin Ford Reno. Customer service needs attention! Mike Otz does not have the ability to apologize or show any empathy. Only defends himself to ensure he doesn't have any responsibility. It doesn't really matter who is right or wrong. I drove 460 miles unnecessarily and zero sympathy from Mike. Additionally he is terrible at returning calls and blames the dealership for that. Will I get a reply or return call about the situation. No way will that happen. Although he did get me in for repair immediately, that was negated as the situation unfolded. This is also a reflection of Leadership at the facility. I called for a manager and of course none were available. They were out on a Drive whatever that means. And I still haven't hear from one. Horrible experience. Wanted to look at a used Duramax and the salesman did greet me, but, as I am 14 years old, I was just trying to look at the truck. I asked to look at the truck, and the salesman didn't even go to get the information to get the keys for the truck, but made me get the VIN number for him. When I came back, the salesman was on his phone and then noticed me after a few seconds. Then he said that legally I could not look at the vehicle since I didn't have a license or something about how I was underage. I looked it up and I am legally able to look at a vehicle, get information about it, and ask questions, as I'm underage I cannot drive it, buy it, or sign any agreements. Here's an honest review of Corwin: It took several years to get a simple recall done and it happened only after I complained via multiple platforms. The straw that broke the camels back was a service advisor on 8/21/24 who told me recalls were 12-18 months out (after hearing this for years), told me they had high turnover, to contact a different dealer and then hung up on me. In Corwins defense, I was given a call by service advisor after someone in management forwarded my complaints and they had the recall done the next day at my location. My service advisor, Amy, was a god-send and made me feel that she genuinely cared and apologized. She followed up exactly as she said she would and was very helpful. Amy and the tech who came out, Marvin, are the reason I am upping my review for Corwin. I hope Corwin hires more Amys and Marvins who care about customers. I truly appreciate Amy following up with me, but I'd still be unhappy with a messed-up truck if I had not posted those reviews. I didn't want special treatment, I just wanted to get my truck recall done. Corporate culture comes from the top, both locally and nationally. I can only hope Corwin Ford Reno pays attention to employees like Amy and Marvin because without them, I'd never visit a Corwin dealership again. Corwin Ford Reno Management: 1.
