I will NEVER buy a car from here again. We purchased a truck 1 month ago from Corwin Ford. With the purchase was included a "blue warranty" or 3 months of pretty much bumper to bumper. Within a couple weeks we noticed the touch screen having issues. We brought it in, and when we arrived they obviously were not expecting us (even though they had set an appointment for us). They took the truck back and after hours stated they weren't able to replicate the problem and there was nothing to do. Well the issue continued to happen, along with the brake pad sensor stating the brakes were low. They told us to bring it in and they would transfer it to GMC (this is the make of the truck) and have them look at it. When we arrived at the appointment the same thing happened (obviously no appointment made) but they said they would call over and have gmc look at it as a drop in basis. GMC updated the system and cleared the brake light. Now the windshield wiper fluid is low, so we went to refill the fluid. After looking under the hood there is no cap for the fluid, the radiator fluid is very low. We just spent THOUSANDS of dollars on the truck. The least they could do is ensure the fluids are full! So much for the 120 point inspection that is supposed to be performed before selling a used car. It's obvious they are trying to avoid paying any extra service fee to keep their profit margin high...what is the point in offering a limited dealership warranty if you will not uphold it?! read more

We were repeatedly forced to follow up ourselves not only to the recall 800 telephone provided then to Corwin Ford just to get basic updates regarding repairs, timelines, or next steps. Consumers should not have to chase down information for a serious vehicle safety-related issue. Had we known this process would be dragged out with so little transparency, accountability, or concern for customers, we would have seriously reconsidered purchasing this vehicle. Then, after waiting almost two years, we were finally told repairs could be scheduled -- only to wait an additional two months for an actual appointment. Despite knowing well in advance when the vehicle would be brought in, Corwin Ford Reno made absolutely no meaningful effort to assist with transportation or provide a loaner vehicle. For many families, losing access to a vehicle for days is a major hardship. We were fortunate enough to rely on friends, family, and work accommodations for transportation, but that does not excuse the complete lack of customer care shown throughout this process. What pushed this experience from frustrating to outright offensive was the comment made during pickup: "Let us know if the car blows up." Considering customers have spent years waiting on a battery-related repair tied to safety concerns, that remark was grossly unprofessional, irresponsible, and astonishingly tone-deaf. I have rented and purchased Ford vehicles for years because of positive past experiences, particularly in Las Vegas. Unfortunately, the level of service and professionalism we encountered in Reno and Carson City has been deeply disappointing and has significantly damaged our confidence in both the dealership experience and the brand's handling of customer concerns read more

I'm updating my review. I am so disgusted with Corwin Ford Reno. They didn't even bother to check any of the work that was done before they hustled me out the door. The sensors don't work. The rear tail light isn't put back the way it should've been even though I feel like they lied about some of the work that I had to have done as an emergency, my brakes and my front tires and an oil leak, which is totally suspicious. They could've at least done the work they charged me for what a racket, I swear, if you can take your car anywhere else to it. read more

They were very busy the day after Black Friday, but I did test drive one Bronco and compared several others. Ultimately, Alex and Christian were able to help me via text and phone, and they had exactly the trim level I was looking for, $5,000 less than any dealers near me. When I came back to make a deal the day after Christmas, everything was smooth and there was not any pressure for warranties or changes in the offer. Jocelyn from finance was knowledgeable and made the paperwork quick and easy. Financing was already approved over the phone and there wasn't any skeezy dealer stuff, it was legit 4.99% from Wells Fargo. I definitely had some concerns buying from a big dealership but they were fantastic from start to finish and saved me nearly 10% versus my local small dealers that only have six or eight broncos on the lot instead of 45+. I brought my car to Corwin Service to complete two recall repairs and its one-year service. I was told they require every vehicle to be kept for a full 24 hours, regardless of the work being performed. This is extremely inconvenient, especially since I live an hour away. After keeping my vehicle for a full day, they informed me they had to order a part for one of the recalls, requiring me to make another two-hour round trip and leave my vehicle for yet another 24 hours. It's hard to understand why recall parts aren't ordered in advance once the appointment is scheduled. The bigger issue came after my first service appointment. The morning after bringing my vehicle home, I found blue fluid leaking onto my driveway, and for the first time since owning the vehicle, the low windshield washer fluid warning appeared. At my return appointment, Corwin diagnosed the problem as a cracked washer fluid reservoir. Despite the timing making it obvious the issue occurred while the vehicle was in their care, Corwin refused to accept any responsibility. Instead, they claimed there was no way they could have damaged the reservoir and suggested it must have cracked during the drive home. They are now refusing to cover the approximately $600 repair for a part that was not damaged before they serviced the vehicle. Instead of receiving the warranty-covered service I brought my vehicle in for, I left with an expensive repair that did not exist beforehand. That is unacceptable. I switched to Corwin after experiencing similar problems with Carson City Ford's service department, hoping for a better experience. Unfortunately, this has only reinforced my belief that Ford's service departments consistently fall short when it comes to accountability, customer service, and standing behind their work. 5 star experience all around from the facilities to every person we encountered in our car purchase experience. However, one person I cannot say enough positive things about was our salesman Joseph. The search started when it was time to change my 18 year old son's car to a bigger car. We live in the San Francisco Bay Area and my son was in Reno visiting my sister. We were in the market for a Ford Explorer and I told my son to check out Corwin Ford as they had a good inventory of certified Explorers. He had gone into a few other dealerships near our home and not well received being a young person going in by himself. The expectation wasn't much higher this time as he went to Corwin on a busy Sunday afternoon. Joseph greeted him and took the time to show him all the options without worrying if he is wasting his time on a young person who was not a strong potential buyer. My son saw a couple of cars he liked and even test drove them. He came back home and in the following week we had a number of conversations with Joseph. He was genuine, not at all pushy, and a true gentleman in every aspect possible. There were a few hundred listings of the car we were looking for near our home as it is a simple common car. We chose to drive 4 hours to Reno and work with Joseph because of who he is. It was worth every minute of the drive and the easiest car buying experience of my life. Took my truck in for service just sat there for two days when they looked at it. They said nothing was wrong with my vehicle and charged me $250 for looking at the vehicle when I told him there's something wrong with my vehicle they told me I could set it up another appointment and pay an additional 250. I buy my ford trucks from Carmax. About two years prior, I should learn my lesson I took my vehicle in for service. They did some service that when I took it to a real mechanic told me did not need to be done. I went back to complain to afford about it. They said tough shit. That service advisor no longer works there and then when I called them out about it, he got upset. Today is day 19 in the shop after a botched routine transmission fluid exchange. No loaner car. Last month it was a week in the shop. Before that I waited 2 months for a replacement oil pan. This is a Ford f-150 that I bought "certified Blue" from them just 8 months ago. During this current fiasco, I called my service representative 3 times and texted and emailed two times with no reply. Yesterday they gave me a new service representative with whom I spoke and he was to let me know more info. There was no returned call. Another day gone. Thus far the only good thing about Corwin Ford is the coffee machine in the waiting room, where I have spent 3 full days in the past two weeks. I fully recommend that you avoid Corwin Ford in Reno, regardless of their big new beautiful dealership. Drive a few miles down the highway and try Sacramento or Carson. read more

I purchased my 2021 Ford F-150 brand new from Capital City Ford in Carson City in October 2021. By April 2022, I reported a serious electrical issue causing a parasitic drain on the battery. Since then, I've brought the truck to Reno Corwin Ford (and back to Carson City Ford) over ten times for the same unresolved problem. Despite repeated visits, countless days of my truck sitting untouched in their lot, and my extended warranty coverage, the issue remains. In December 2023, Reno Corwin Ford replaced the battery under warranty, but the electrical drain persisted. Recently, the battery failed again--yet I was told I'd need to pay out of pocket, even though the underlying issue has never been fixed. Their own staff admitted in 2022 that "it's a known issue and there is no fix." More recently, one advisor stated the battery should be covered under warranty if compromised by an electrical fault, but management refused to honor it. After three years of failed repairs, broken promises, and dismissive responses, Reno Corwin Ford has now banned me from service after I swore in frustration. This is not how a dealership should treat a loyal customer. The lack of urgency, respect, and accountability is staggering. Appointments mean nothing, updates are rare, and their refusal to take ownership of a warranty problem is unacceptable. I've escalated this to Ford Corporate and will continue to pursue resolution, but I feel it's important for other customers to know what to expect at Reno Corwin Ford: poor communication, no urgency, and little to no accountability. Service was good and my service advisor was professional. My issue is with Corwin Ford's 3% credit card surcharge and the policy behind it. Corwin called me after my service asking for my honest feedback. I didn't contact them to complain. They asked for my opinion, and I told them I was satisfied with the service but disagreed with charging customers a 3% surcharge. Instead of simply listening, the representative argued and claimed "every business charges 3%." That simply isn't true. Many businesses absorb processing costs, negotiate lower merchant rates, or build those costs into their pricing. After that conversation, I posted reviews on Yelp and Google. Only then did Corwin call me a second time. To their credit, they apologized for the representative's tone, offered me a free oil change, which gave me a laugh since I drive an F-150 Lightning, and they offered to refund the 3% surcharge. I declined both offers because this was never about getting my money back. It's about the policy itself. They're not charging a small convenience fee. They're charging the statutory maximum 3%. As a dealership representing one of the largest automotive brands in the country, I'd expect Corwin to be able to negotiate competitive processing rates like many other businesses do. Instead, they've chosen to pass the maximum allowable surcharge directly on to customers. That policy also penalizes people who use credit cards intentionally for security. I've been through identity theft and fraud before. If my credit card is compromised, fraudulent charges don't immediately come out of my bank account during an investigation. If my debit card is hit, my own money can be tied up while the mess gets sorted out. I'm not willing to take that risk or to carry cash to pay for service. I appreciate that Corwin apologized and tried to make things right for me personally, but I don't believe that solves the underlying issue. In my opinion, this policy unfairly shifts a normal cost of doing business onto customers who choose the payment method with stronger consumer protections. I worked with Hunter, who was patient with me throughout the process and helped me find a 2019 F-150 that had everything I was looking for. His manager, Andrew, also came over and introduced himself, which I appreciated. There were a few very minor issues with the truck, and Hunter told me they would take care of them. I didn't get anything in writing; I just took his word for it. I wasn't totally sure what to expect, but Hunter followed through on everything they said they would do, and then some. They really went above and beyond, fixed the issues, and clearly care about their customers and their reputation. I bought a vehicle at Corwin Ford and it came with three free oil changes. The first oil change took three hours they said because they were down a technician. OK they could've told me that when I first checked in to see if I could've made it another time. Now my second free oil change is 4+ hours. That included a tire rotation and a five point check. They told me it would only take 90 minutes so I waited. where the second time I went to inquire about my vehicle I found my car sitting out in front. Nobody contacted me to come get it and they said it took that long because one of their technicians had to leave for a family emergency. I was sitting in the waiting room waiting someone could've came and told me about that. The only reason I gave them a one star is because at least I got free water and a couple goodies in the waiting room. Other than that, I will never deal with them again. read more

If I could give Corwin Ford's Service Department zero stars, I would. Over the past several years, I have brought 2 different Ford vehicles to Corwin Ford for three separate service matters. Each experience has been marked by poor communication, questionable business practices, excessive pricing, and a complete lack of customer advocacy. My first experience involved an oil pan leak on my F-150. I contacted Corwin Ford approximately 3 weeks before my factory warranty expired to report the issue and schedule service. Rather than documenting the concern or scheduling an appointment while the vehicle was still under warranty, Corwin refused to note the problem and would only schedule me after the warranty expiration date. Hence, when the vehicle was finally inspected, Corwin refused any warranty consideration and charged me approximately $1,200 for an oil pan replacement. Notably, Ford had already identified issues with the original oil pan design and an advisor to replace with an updated design. I paid the repair bill and moved on. 2 years later, the oil pan began leaking again. When I returned to Corwin, they refused to stand behind their previous repair because their warranty had expired just one month earlier. Instead, they recommended another repair costing roughly $1,200. For a static, non-moving component that should last the life of the vehicle, this was unacceptable. The failure was obviously the result of Corwin's mechanic installing improperly. I eventually had leak repaired by Real Performance for approximately $500. My second experience was even worse. I scheduled an appointment with Corwin Ford to replace the cam phasers on my F-150. I was initially quoted approximately $2,300, which seemed high but reasonable enough to proceed. Despite having a scheduled appointment, the vehicle sat untouched for an entire week. By the following Thursday, I received a call stating that the original estimate was incorrect and that additional components needed to be replaced. The revised estimate was now approximately $5,400--more than double the original quote. When I questioned the dramatic increase, I was told the truck had already been disassembled and additional problems had been discovered. Concerned about being committed to such a massive increase with the vehicle allegedly torn apart, I requested to speak with management. When the service manager called, he immediately contradicted his own advisor and informed me the truck had not been disassembled at all and, in fact, had not been touched. This means I was either deliberately misled or Corwin's internal communication is so poor that service advisors do not know the status of customer vehicles. Either explanation is unacceptable. I immediately picked up my truck and had work performed by Real Performance for approximately $2,900--about half of Corwin's revised estimate. My most recent experience involved my Ford Raptor, which is covered by Ford's Premium Extended Warranty, a warranty that cost approximately $5,000. The vehicle needed diagnosis of an adaptive cruise control issue and a replacement ceiling speaker. Because the truck is modified, I understood there was a possibility the adaptive cruise concern might not be covered. Corwin informed me there would be a $240 diagnostic fee for the cruise control concern and a separate $240 diagnostic fee for the speaker issue. The adaptive cruise control diagnosis revealed that the radar simply needed alignment. Rather than applying the diagnostic fee toward the repair--as most reputable service facilities do when repairs are performed--Corwin charged both the $240 diagnostic fee and an additional $240 for the alignment itself. The speaker issue was even more troubling. I reported that the speaker consistently produced popping noises at moderate volume levels. The technician claimed they could not duplicate the concern and charged me another $240 despite the fact that the component itself is fully covered under my Ford warranty. When I asked whether the diagnostic charge would be credited back if the issue reoccurred and was later confirmed, I was told no. I was further informed that if I returned the following week and they still could not duplicate the issue, I would be charged another $240 diagnostic fee. In other words, the customer assumes all financial risk while Corwin assumes none--even when dealing with components covered by a manufacturer's extended warranty. I have given the Corwin multiple opportunities to earn my business. Instead, each visit has reinforced my belief that their service department prioritizes maximizing revenue over providing honest, customer-focused service. I strongly recommend that Ford owners in Northern Nevada seek alternative service providers. Based on my experiences, Corwin's service department is the most disappointing and unprofessional dealership service operation I have encountered. I will not be returning. read more

Only writing this review because I've been pretty upset with the service here multiple times now. I'm currently still waiting for a response from about 5 months ago after an oil change one of the techs or mechanics left grease on my steering wheel and discolored and cracked the leather. Before that I had an issue with my transmission I let them know when I brought the truck in and it was still under warranty they did nothing and my warranty is now passed coverage strategically. Similar thing happened with my engine startup. I kept telling them I was getting a really bad noise almost every other startup they told me it was the turbos and that it was normal a few months went by and I was finally able to record it. luckily Jairo took me serious and he got it taken care of. I asked about a recall they said I had to call and do all the work. I called and the Ford warranty department told me Ford should have handled it. When i took my car in for service for my stereo turning off randomly I got it back my cruise control lane change was stuck in the on position. they told me it wasn't related. I had asked for some kind of compensation for a rental. they told me it wasn't an option. I asked to speak to a manager and they somehow in less than 5 minutes had a rental ready for me. Pretty disappointing experience. I bought my electric car at Capital Ford due to issues experienced with Corwin (they wanted to up-charge $10k for the same exact car I bought for no reason). Since then, I've reluctantly brought my car into Corwin when service is needed, mostly because of bad customer service experiences, this last visit was no exception. I completely lost power to my car, called immediately and was told I could have it towed (on a Friday) and they would schedule it for service on the following Monday. The representative failed to disclose a lot of information that would have been needed for me to make a better informed decision on where to take my car and while the car is covered by warranty, they failed to adequately inform about the item they were charging me for which is not required but recommended. Multiple calls were made were the representative laughed and interrupted me at every question. When we finally clarified things I was told my car would be ready on Friday (a week after) only to later be told it was not even looked at when it was scheduled because of their one electric specialist and the representative being out and another electric car taking the one electric tool/bay they have. I am just now getting my car back, haven't picked up quite yet but was told it's ready. In addition, while they provided a rental, the sales tax was left to me to pay. When I asked about reimbursement, the exact words from the rep's text were: "so ford does not cover the sales tax as they cover the main portion of the rental so it is in responsibility to you while ford covers the main dollar amount of the rental." To which I replied, that would have been valuable information to know prior to picking up a rental. Their communication and expertise could use an upgrade. Cars are not cheap, places for service are limited and the consumer is left to have to pay everything extra because they don't have informed and communication able staff. Not the first time with bad communication there which is why I chose to finally make a review. Regardless of the drive, unless they improve, I do think I will take the extra miles and drive to Capital for future services. read more

Very disappointed in our experience with Corwin Ford, and I'm hoping someone from dealership leadership or corporate will actually review this. We purchased a 2020 Ford F-250 from Corwin Ford on 3/21 and traded in our Ram pickup. We had previously had a great experience with Corwin GMC, so we felt comfortable doing business with another Corwin dealership. Unfortunately, this experience was the complete opposite. We spent hours at the dealership and did not receive the "guaranteed" trade-in value we were quoted over the phone. That was frustrating, but the real issue came shortly after. Less than 41 hours after purchasing the truck (on 3/23), it broke down while we were 4.5 hours away from home while handling matters at a children's hospital. When we reached out for help, we were transferred between multiple people, placed on hold for long periods of time, and even hung up on. During that process, we learned that our "Certified Blue Vehicle" did not have an active warranty--even though we were told the warranty should be effective immediately after signing the paperwork. We were told they would "work on activating it," but no one stepped up to help us while we were stranded. I asked to speak with the general manager and was told he was on vacation. I requested that a message be left so he could contact me when he returned, but I never received a call. We waited more than 10 hours hoping Corwin Ford would help resolve the situation. Instead, a competing dealership stepped in, treated us far better, and helped us get into a rental car so we could make it home safely. They showed more concern for our situation than the dealership that sold us the vehicle. We were also told that Corwin would be sending us a check to cover the cost of the tow. We never received said check. As of now, the only person who has reached out is our salesperson--who had no idea the truck had broken down because there appears to be little to no communication within the dealership. Our salesperson was great, but the way the rest of this situation was handled was unacceptable. We were fully prepared to continue doing business with Corwin in the future, but after this experience, that will not be happening. Last year I purchased my 2022 Expedition from Corwin Ford Reno, and the sunroof rattled from day one. I brought it back for repair, but their fix lasted barely a month before the problem returned. Since then, I've taken the vehicle to Capital Ford in Carson City. They've addressed the sunroof rattle multiple times, at no charge, as part of my regular service visits. They didn't sell me the vehicle, yet they've consistently taken responsibility. This week I returned to Corwin Ford Reno for other issues and asked them to look at the sunroof again. Instead of owning the problem they originally "fixed," they charged me $220 just to diagnose it and then quoted $450 to grease the sunroof. This is completely unacceptable. Corwin Ford sold me this vehicle and should be standing behind an issue that has existed since the day I drove it off the lot--not trying to profit from it. Do NOT service your car here. I dropped off my fleet vehicle 4 weeks ago for 3 recalls and a maintenance issue. The maintenance issue needed approval by my company's lease plan which they got 3.5 weeks ago. What is the status of my vehicle? I could not tell you as I am being lied to and given the run around. The dealership will not return my calls so I'll be there at the end of the week to pick up my car and take it elsewhere. The fleet manager and GM have not returned my voicemails. Shoot. I should have checked Yelp before dealing with these people. Here's just a little sample from my experience. I leased a brand-new Ford 150 Lariat Lightning with a MSRP of $80k. You'd expect when you spend that kind of coin on a brand-new vehicle, you'd get white-glove service when it needs attention, right? Well, not with Corwin Ford. For starters, I've never had a dealership where I've purchased a brand-new vehicle from them and they do not offer a courtesy vehicle when my vehicle is in their shop. That's crazy to me. Secondly, when I scheduled service for the many active recalls on the truck, I told the scheduler that I would need those items fixed. He was very dismissive and wrote none of it down. The best he could do was say something along the lines of "we can tell them that the day you bring it in". So now I am waiting several days after dropping the truck off because they had to order parts for something that should have been ordered weeks ago. Thirdly, the website is terrible. The only options for scheduling service are generic drop down items like "10,000 mile service" and there are no specific boxes for recalled items. Fourth, on day one of service I was told that I'd get updates on the progress of the vehicle. That was a lie. I got updates on day 1 and then nothing since. Honestly, I'd have to be insane to patronize these people ever again. Spend the money on someone who cares. read more

My wife and I purchased a used 2017 F350 dually for our construction business. The truck had an obvious issue: the front third of the bed was bare metal where an external fuel tank used to sit. During the sale, both Preston Pheasant and our salesman Clifford promised they would "do it right" by stripping the bed and properly applying a fresh liner. Preston Pheasant himself told us it would adhere right if it was done that way. A week later when I brought the truck back for the liner, Preston Pheasant suddenly changed his story and denied ever saying it. Both my wife and I were there during the sale--we know exactly what he said. Instead of doing the job right, they sprayed new liner directly over the old material. Now it's already cracking. That's not just sloppy work, that's outright dishonesty. For context, my business has been around 11 years, and we purchase 6-8 vehicles on average. We also direct our construction clients on where to buy trucks when we wrap and brand their fleets. We've had excellent experiences at places like Dolan RAM. But Corwin Ford, and especially Preston Pheasant, represent the worst kind of dealership behavior: lying to customers, throwing a fit when called out, and failing to back up their word. In my company, my word is my bond. It's not about the first sale--it's about lifelong clients and trust. Preston Pheasant clearly doesn't understand that. Clifford backed him up, which shows this isn't a one-off mistake, it's a culture problem at Corwin Ford. We will absolutely be letting our construction partners know where NOT to shop at our upcoming roundtable meeting. I might be a simple guy, but I wanted a new truck at a reasonable price and I wanted a reasonable amount for my trade in which was mechanically fine but a work truck so not winning any beauty contests. I worked with Anthony Leader and we got pretty much everything done on the phone that we could before I showed up. It took a bit of time in the store for various people to do their thing (his manager, the finance manager) but not excessive. One thing I really liked about Anthony is that he walked out and checked to see if the vehicle I was interested in was on the lot, I want to say within 5 minutes of me calling. That was a good move because a dealership in Vegas lost my business because the truck I wanted, and that the Vegas dealership was talking to me about, turns out wasn't on the lot and those guys really wasted my time. Again, I just wanted a new truck at a reasonable price with a reasonable trade in value. My trade in was valued pretty much at KBB pricing and I was fine with that. The Corwin Ford location is really nice too. My wife waited around for a bit while I went through the process and there were comfy chairs, nice bathrooms, a kids play area, etc. I'd definitely recommend Corwin Ford, and give Anthony a holler, he's a straight shooter. read more

A fellow Army Veteran bought a car thru True Car Military thinking that the cars were guaranteed to be in good working conditions and not only did he put down his hard earned money $7000 and they took his money and sold him a car that had problems the moment he took it out of the lot. Now the car a month later is not even drivable because the steering wheel is locked. Now he is with no car with two young children and the dealership is acting like they can't do nothing about selling this men a lemon. Don't buy from True Car either. Very impressed with Corwin Ford's new facility on S. Virginia in Reno. It is a beautiful business complex. My car was in for two recalls. Dan was my service writer. He was welcoming and professional. After quickly taking care of my order, he took me on a tour of the complex. The service area is clean and bright. There are monitors indicating the progress and service on all vehicles. Next to the service writers area is the fleet section and around the corner a large beautiful new car showroom. There is a reception area at the front to welcome customers. A beautiful blue Ford GT is on display. In the area next to the showroom is a comfortable, well lit waiting area. A cozy fireplace, drink area with complimentary snacks, clean restrooms and a playroom with tablets for children. There are over 30 televisions in the large area. Tons of parking and easy directions to navigate you around the property. Very nice business establishment in South Reno. Well done! Thanks Dan for your great service. I must add that every person who assisted me in my recent interaction walked me to my destination. They did not just point and tell me where to go. Even an attendant out in the back lot gave me exact directions to get to the service center.
