A friend expressed an interest in purchasing my daily driver and there was a need for me to look for a replacement. For some time, I had my eyes set on a low mileage Audi A4. I thought to myself, "If I am going to commute from Fernley to North Valley Reno, I might as well do it in style." I sold my vehicle to my friend at the end of the work week and it was off to CarZone. I met with Zack and I was told that the Audi had a bad coil pack and that it was no no condition to be sold to a customer and that there are other options that could fit my needs as a daily driver. I saw a Subaru Outback. It had low miles for its age but there was one demerit that kept me from selecting it: the alarm would activate if you used the key to unlock the door. Other options were explored. I decided to go with a Hyundai Tucson with low miles and AWD. This car is going to get the brunt of the winter commute so AWD is mandatory for me. I did a visual inspection and a test drive. I decided to go forward with making the purchase. Zack was very accommodating and worked with me to get the car financed. This is my first vehicle purchase as a Nevadan and I am satisfied with the car and how Zack took care of me. I would have given Carzone 5 stars for what I thought was great customer service, and sale. As I paid for my 2008 Trailblazer December 14, 2020, the information dash had a 'service stabilitrak' message. They said they would repair it on their 'Due Bill' sheet, plus noted the rear hatch defrost wire connection was broken off window as well as a few other items I noted. As I drove it home, stopped for gas, the engine check light came on. So I bring it back to them that Saturday, and they had at their mechanic shop until January 2nd when I picked it back up. Well the ''service stabilitrak" message was still showing in message on dash and again, when I got home the engine check light came back on. I have left messages, voice messages, text messages, online message and I do not get returned calls, nor the ability to resolve the 4 error codes to the vehicle. Those error codes are PO106-00, PO108-00, P2431-00 and C0455. If they took it to their mechanic they would have repaired the issues, but they did not. So now I'm leaving this review for buyers beware of buying used vehicles from Carzone. Carfax report is nothing to guarantee such waste that I thought was getting a working lower mileage suv. There 30 day warranty is jack-shit. As it stands, the trailblazer would not pass Washoe County smog with these error codes. BAD BAD BAD - BUYERs DO YOUR RESEARCH. Don't take their word, take the vehicle if you are so interested in to your mechanic before you pay for it. Save you a lot of headache and frustrations as I am going thru. One final thought on pricing - this vehicle if bought elsewhere would have been up to $3000.00 dollars less compared to their high markup price. Bought a car here and less then 23hrs later the cars engine light came on. Sales people said it was due to the gas we put in. However it was due to the turbo going out. The sales people sent it to THIER auto shop. The car sat there for almost a month with nobody giving us an update. We received a car payment before even having the car for more than 24hrs. Bought a car here and 2 days later I returned it telling them it was acting up. they kept the car over a month, collecting the $1500 promissory note returning it to me telling me it was fixed. A month later took it back again, to their mechanic where it supposedly was fixed the 1st time. Their own mechanic told me he had never seen the vehicle. So, we went into Carzone to look at vehicles and met a really nice young salesman. We had a good conversation with the young man then decided to negotiate the price. I was looking forward to negotiating the price with the young man... But the "finance manager" came over and sat at the desk. I have purchased several vehicles from used car lots and I know that there is usually room for negotiation in the price. It should be noted that I overheard the finance manager drop the F bomb several times, loud enough for us to hear it, while we were sitting at the desk prior to him arriving in front of us. I don't know if he was doing that for some sort of intimidation reason or not... No clue. I thought it was extremely unprofessional. He sat down in front of us and I started to negotiate. He was extremely unreasonable saying that it was almost offensive that I wanted to get $1200 off of a $15,000 price tag. He was rude to her faces. The experience was very unpleasant. It really felt like I was not welcome there... He was projecting a certain attitude that made me feel unwelcome. He indicated to me that he "called" the owner to see if he would be able to take $1200 off the price... Which I thought was weird... And he said the owner would not budge on the price. INSPECT THE HECK OUT OF THE VEHICLE YOU'RE LOOKING AT. Top to bottom drive it for awhile and feel it out. I purchased a vehicle from here said they did a full inspection of the vehicle but a week into having the vehicle I had to replace the power steering pump, belts, power steering hoses. Get full suspension cause the struts were blown from being on lowering springs, I have put about 80 miles on the vehicle and it's has been sitting for about 2 to 2-1/2 weeks cause the clutch went out. So there goes over 2k into that. Had to get all new tires cause they don't know how to align. Claimed it was aligned but when I took it in it was out of spec over 3 degrees in every area. Just don't dive in like I did cause I thought I was getting a good deal. Live and you learn. Don't recommend this place. read more

The salesman "RICH" told me they would fix it once I brought it back the next week . I found a vehicle I liked so I took it for a test drive and the vehicle shook on the car it's self and steering and there was a pop noise in the front end we told then if we got the car it needed to be fixed before we pick it up and finish paying the down payment. In writing they said fix shaking do alignment and balance they didn't fix any of that the first time and never gave me an invoice just told us what they did and when we returned it after getting it for the first time they did a balance they said but still haven't done alignment and car still shakes a little and the pop noise still exists here and there I wanted my money back because they can't figure out what's wrong with it and was told no haven't even had the car 2 weeks yet. I bought an F 250 from Car Zone about a year and a half ago. I should've turned and ran at the get go but didn't. I bought the truck along with a $2,000 grade A warranty that was "the best on the market". My alarm kept going off and I told them it had to be a door sensor or the cluster. Their mechanics solution was to replace the better alarm system and replace it with a sub par system. That didn't take care of the problem. Over the next several months my door ajar light kept coming on along with my dome light. Over the next year and a half it's been nothing but a money pit. I've put almost as much into it as I paid for it. And I'm not done yet. The truck kept pulling to the left and I had it aligned twice. As it turned out the front end needed to be rebuilt. $4,000 there. Plus my new tires wore out in a year so I've already had to buy new tires. Another $1,200. I kept finding coolant in my engine compartment. I replaced the reservoir that was cracked and took my truck on a trip. More coolant and my truck over heated. Warped heads and needed new hoses. I had them semi bullet proof the motor while they were at it and that was $11,000. Back to the alarm system. I had the door sensors replaced and that was anther $350. Then I took it to a specialist and he determined that the cluster was going out and that's what was setting off my alarm. Another $1,200. So far I've put over $17,000 into this truck and the "A" warranty that they sold me on has not covered one single cent of these problems. For that price and what I put down on this truck I could've gone to a reputable dealer and gotten a great truck. My problems aren't over. I've got a bad vibration in the rear end and have to take it in and have that diagnosed. I've got too much invested in this damn truck that I can't walk away from it. How their mechanics missed all of this (if they did miss it), I'll never know. 1st time buying from a pot lot. Never again. I'll stick with the reputable dealers. read more

I don't recommend this car dealer at all. We have had non stop issues with the vehicle since we purchased it. They don't seem very component in putting in they payments. We were even told at the beginning of our loan that we had not made 3 payments which was not true. I go in tonight to make a payment and was told again we didn't make a payment for Nov which was untrue. I found the receipt for Nov and took it in. You would think they would apologize but NO. This dealership is completely out of control, Renee was our salesman and he lied to us. Stating that the car we were looking at was on the lot for a month, I looked into it and they had the care for 157 days. They change the price several times. In December it was 14995, then they raised it in March to 15995, and then dropped it again to 14995, and once again raised it back to 15995. I asked Renee about this and his words were "OH"! I am very thankful that they did not accept my 14000 dollar offer. They had the hood and roof painted and delivered my truck completely covered with dust, so I wouldn't see all of the dirt they painted over. They replaced the throw out bearing and didn't have the professionalism to call me and ask if I wanted the clutch replaced while they had the tranny out or offer to pay for it since I just paid 30k for the truck. Went here to buy a DTS for my father and although on the internet it said "make an offer" they would not negotiate one cent lower than the asking price. Car had cosmetic defects filthy inside AC making grinding noises. Concerned that there were other macanical issues. If they don't negotiate prices they should post that. They sell cars illegally and without equitable title. We have to hire an attorney, get the Nevada Attorney Generals office involved and the Nevada DMV title enforcement involved to get a title to a car we bought 8 months ago. Still unsuccessful to this day 8 months after. If you call about your title they say no one can help you, and they don't know who can help you and they don't know when the person that can help you will be in. If you threaten legal action then "they are done talking to you and you can speak to their attorney" so they'd rather spend money on that then just give you the title to a car you already bought. read more

Only go to this dealership is you know what you are looking for and can take control of your situation. This is a great place if you are down on your luck and need something a little more affordable than a brand new car. Before getting into any car, check the Carfax (not the one from the dealership), take a test drive, and look under the hood, if you don't, you could very well end up with something that will break down on you soon after driving off, and this companies policy, in which they do make ALL their customers sign, is you are buying the vehicle "as is". Please keep in mind, that even though they do not say it out loud, know what you are signing. There IS a form that does say that you have 30 days to bring the car back to the lot without penalty, with the exception that you do not get your deposit back. It took a couple of weeks and several calls in order to get all of my copied documentation. I just now contacted my loan lender and they told me that the dealership still has not sent them all of my documentation either so they cannot yet complete my loan details. Overall, this company is very accommodating and on the ball when it comes to acquiring a customer, however once the paperwork is signed and you have driven off the lot, they drag their feet and basically wash their hands of you. I love my car, but will not be going back to this company, nor will I recommend my friends and family go there unless they can handle the Sales mentality types. read more

Since i barely had credit, they asked me for a co signer which was absolutely fine, until they wanted about 1/2 of the cars worth upfront as down payment. Yes the vehicle was an older vehicle however i had asked at first if i would have to put 1/2 down as down payment and they said no we can help you finance. Recently purchased a Ford F250 Superduty at CarZone Reno NV.... During inspection we noticed a fairly recently (looked new) replaced catalytic converter. I asked the sales guy about California smog compliance (truck was tagged CA emissions) and was told that it was no problem passing CA smog, in fact he used the words guaranteed. Either way tampering of emissions equipment is unlawful and I was certain that the dealer/seller was responsible for that equipment. No surprise when my smog guy pointed out that the installed catalytic converter was only federal compliant and therefore would not pass. Contacting CarZone was a dead end. Initially I had some contact over the issue which progressed to not even answering my number. Filed complaint with BBB.... no response from CarZone and no surprise there. My next step will be to send a demand letter and then I suspect I'll have to file in NV small claims court over a $720 dollar part. read more

I was shopping for my mom a used car and located one of there cars online a 2008 S550 Mercedes Benz with 43k miles, I was very interested so I contacted them by email and they responded. I spoke to Ms. Lorraina Currie, a pleasant woman with good intentions. After some preliminary questions, I made an offer and she explained that she would need to take it to her manager. The next day when we spoke, she explained that the used car market had a price increase for this vehicle and that they would need to increase the price by $1000 dollars. She offered to let me speak to her manager Pablo, who came to the phone, and after trying to convince me that his boss wanted to increase the price, that he was able to convince him to honor the advertised price and sell me the car at the originally listed price. So I agreed to pay the full asking price and we had a deal. Meanwhile, my mom submitted a credit application and I eventually had to submit one also because she needed a co-signer! Here comes the part of the story that should make you pause and seriously reconsider whether or not you want to do business with Car Zone. After everything was submitted and I was waiting for the loan approval, suddenly all communication went dark, two days went by without a text or return phone call. Finally after being persistent for an answer, Pablo the manager called me back and said " Mr. Baker, I am sorry but we are not going to be able to sell you this car!" "After my mechanic performed its final inspection, we noticed a slippage in the transmission," I said really, you're telling me an S550 Mercedes Benz with 43000 miles needs a transmission? This was laughable, especially after reviewing the Carfax which had a record of the vehicle's service history which had been maintained on schedule. I believe he lied to me, I could only shake my head. They strung me along for over a week, put a hard inquiry on my mom and my Experian credit report, and have copies of our driver's license and personal information. If I sound angry it's because I am! Looking at other reviews, some people have had great and good experiences but mine was the type that gives used car dealers such a bad reputation!
