    Route 66 roast beef

The entire dining experience was overstimulating. Parking was fairly easy thanks to the restaurant's location near a lot. However, upon entering, we were immediately struck by the blaring music and brightly colored decor. The restaurant was packed, and between the scheduled dances and singing performances, it took quite a while before we received any assistance. Our server was friendly but was repeatedly pulled away for other duties, which significantly slowed down the meal. Once our order was placed, the food arrived relatively quickly. *Route 66 Roast Beef: an unusual combination of sliced sourdough topped with mashed potatoes, roast beef, and gravy. The bread became completely soaked, creating a rather heavy carbohydrate on carbohydrate dish. The mashed potatoes were easily the most flavorful component. Unfortunately, the gravy was doing most of the work, as the roast beef itself was quite overcooked. *Side Salad: included with my platter. The vegetables lacked both freshness and crispness so I was unable to finish it. *Butter Hop Scotch: I appreciated that the shake was served with the extra metal mixing cup on the side. The flavor was rich, buttery, and indulgent. I would have preferred a stronger malt presence, but it was still enjoyable and easily large enough to share. Ultimately, this felt more like a destination for families with young children than for those looking for a relaxing meal. The constant music, performances, and overall noise level made it difficult to enjoy the dining experience, and our server had little opportunity to check in on us. The milkshake was easily the highlight of the visit, while the food itself was largely forgettable.

This is a retro-restaurant with a lively atmosphere and great for large gatherings. The atmosphere is like an adult Chucky Cheese with decent food quality and large servings. Kids would like the cuisine too, while waitstaff are entertaining and helpful. I don't think I need to come back, as I've already experienced it, but it was truly entertaining!

Had a really good time at Corvette Diner. The pats pastrami burger was quite tasty and the service was excellent. Gotta chance to dance with the staff and eat cotton candy which I haven't had since I was like 14 yrs old. Great music and the game room was a great touch. Natasha and Maria made our first experience truly a lot of fun and memorable.

Management actually reached out to me after my Yelp review. They sent a very polished, very corporate message asking a few questions, so I replied with real answers. And then... nothing.. vapor. They ghosted the conversation they started! It felt less like customer service and more like I accidentally responded to an unplugged chat bot. I've been coming to Corvette since the Hillcrest days, back when the place had personality, it felt like they cared about their regulars. Menu prices are misleading as they now tack on a 5% hidden fee on the entire check! Even the game cards get the "inflation" fee tacked on.. which is wild. Now it feels like they're monetizing every possible interaction. Want a photo $$$$? Want a balloon animal$$$? Add in the shrinking hours and declining overall food quality, and it feels like they're coasting on nostalgia instead of earning it. I'm not rooting against them. I'd love to see the heart come back. But right now it's like watching an old friend who can't quite remember how to be themselves.. and takes your presence as a given. I may treat my kids to a birthday celebration there... but the days of dropping in mid week for a bite will be done at a smaller neighborhood joint. Where the owners look you in the eye and are actually grateful for the patronage.

Oh, this is the most dope little spot if you have little ones.... this place is really cool However food wise just your typical fries burgers nothing really special on the food. I got a salad. It was OK nothing to rave about but who cares about the food? The kids had a blast. The whole ambience is pretty cool. They set us in an area with like a black light type of thing really took me back to the older days but also if you have a little flashlight or you can even use your Cell Phone flash and if you aim it at the table the kids get a kick out of that they have so much fun. There's also an arcade thing which we did after dinner. Kids enjoyed that so much and the milkshakes are pretty good. They have some really cool interesting desserts Service was spot on no complaints. This place is definitely for the kiddos ! 10/10 would come back again

First of all I want to give the biggest thanks to the staff as a whole but even more so GIDGET our server was absolutely AMAZING!! Made my daughter feel extra special on her birthday and was very entertaining for the whole table!! You're able to request her if you ever go, highly recommend doing so SHES GREAT! Corvette Diner is a 50's themed diner located in Liberty Station. The place absolutely screams rock n roll with a twist of neon lights and decor for pop. This place has something for everyone in your party or even for a date. Entertainment for all, bar for adults and before or after the arcade for the littles. As stated the service team is absolutely amazing! Everyone has great attitude and I think that's what plays a big part in the success of this place. Absolutely amazing service! We ordered shakes first my son got the S'more's shake and said it tasted just like the s'more's pop tart (my favorite pop tart) he loved it! My daughter got the Green Frog float, she didn't like the soda very much in the float (she was trying something new haha) but she said it was cool and really liked the ice cream, my step son got a regular vanilla milkshake for kids and absolutely destroyed it! For food I ordered the Chicken Polka Pasta and it was so good! The chicken was tender and juicy and the pasta had a sauce I wish I had the recipe for. My Girlfriend got the Grubbys Fish & Chips and tore that up as much as she can until she got full! The servings for everything are more than enough for anyone. My son order the B.L.A.S.T. Burger which has bacon, lettuce, guacamole, swiss, turkey, tomato & mayo on toasted sourdough and he too tore that up! My daughter and stepson got the chicken strips and fries and they both loved it and ate it all! Coming here adults will pay anywhere from 15-25 for a plate but please don't let that deter you from this place the service and the amount of food will take the edge off the price. The entertainment and service is what you're paying for. The great tasting food happens to be the biggest bonus ever!! Thank you again to the whole staff and Corvette Diner as a whole you guys really made my daughter's special day more special than ever! Oh yeah for birthdays the do loud speaker announcements and a song (when requested) so be sure to do that! See you again soon Corvette Diner!

Celebrated my graduation last Saturday-what a fun party! The food was great, service spectacular (thank you Biff and Shirley!) brown cow was awesome, on behalf of my mom please bring back the sloppy Joe! Been coming to Corvette diner since I was a kid, Shot Gun Tom Kelly was the DJ at the original Hillcrest location-when they closed down it was a sad sad day. So fortunate they reopened better than ever at Liberty Station! Arcade is fun even when you're 45-go!!! Have a blast!!! San Diego memories abound!

    Anna L.

Located in Liberty Station, this diner has all the groovy vibes of the 70s. The food isn't outstanding or anything but the vibe is fun. There's an arcade in the back, great place for kids.

Came here for my friend's birthday and Rodney was our server and he was SUCH a blast! you Rodney! Food was good nothing crazy but there's a fun selection of uniquely named dishes! The diner aesthetic was such a blast with a bunch of classics playing overhead and at one point the servers did a whole little flash mob (Rodney ofc killed it). Overall amazing energy and a fun time, definitely recommend giving it a try!

The restaurant has a decent sized arcade and lots of seating. Our waitress Bonnie was really nice and my daughter loved getting her hair done with crazy sticks which was a fun perk. We got the BLAST and fish and chips. BLAST: a little low on the fillings for how much bread there is. Could have a little more flavor. The fries that came with it were really good. Fish and chips: three decent sized pieces of fish that were not too heavy on the batter. Tartar dipping sauce was really good, on the salty side which I like! Comes with fries and side salad (or side Caesar). Would consider coming back for special occasions.

It has been a long time...I mean, really long! And since I remember them from the past, which I miss...it's time to let go and embrace the future! Friendly greeting when we walked in, the hostess said it would be about five minutes, so we went to the arcade. Lots of games to keep everyone entertained. We were seated in the neon section with black lighting and neon colors on the wall. The only thing I didn't like was the open space between us and the table next to us. Our server was great! So sweet! Ordered a green river and my former students had milkshakes. We also ordered fried cheese and boneless wings to start...both very good! The girls both had burgers and I had the chicken fried steak. It's still as good as the first time I had it. Though the plate is much smaller than before...inflation! LOL! We didn't have room for dessert so that will have to wait until next time. The staff all performed a dance which was great to see. I remember when the sassy waitresses from long ago would throw straws at the start of the meal and bubble gum at the end. Those were the good ol dull days! Definitely worth coming to if you want to do something fun with your friends and/or family!

1st it's been a while visiting the diner. Food was ok stay away from the fired shrimp TINY & overcooked. Something to be desired No MEAT. Fish was ok breading didn't fall off of the filets itself. Ambiance was excellent although the sound level a bit much for me. Service was decent . Choose wisely if you visit.

We ordered, but a few minutes later, our waiter came out looking like he had to deliver bad news. He apologized and said the chef refused to serve the current batch because it "wasn't up to his standards." Before we could even process being denied our soup, the chef himself walked out to our table. First of all? The man is dangerously handsome. Second of all? He was incredibly sweet. He politely offered us tomato soup instead, but then saw the heartbreak in my grandma's eyes. He told us, "Look, if you really want the matzo ball soup and can give me 15 minutes, I will go to the back and whip up a brand new, fresh batch just for your grandma." Naturally, we waited. Since he knew we were sharing, this absolute legend threw an extra matzo ball into the bowl so we could each have two. Talk about elite customer service! It really made us realize how much the people here care about the quality of their food. They won't serve you subpar dishes just to flip a table. My grandma was on cloud nine. The place was packed and there were so many people in and out of the Lafayette hotel, as usual. This was a late night dinner so I believe we arrived around 8:30 PM. We were seated right away, which we were really happy about. Every time we come the host that sees us is very nice and customer service oriented. Our server was very nice. We ordered the deviled eggs for the table to share. We also ordered Patty Melts and shakes. I ordered onion rings for my side to my Patty Melt and everyone else got the side of fries. The deviled eggs is a super Duper tiny appetizer. The highlight is that it comes with salmon roll on top which are delicious. Our food came out and I will say that it just tasted OK this time. The patties in the patty melt were undercooked (they looked gray colored not brown) and didn't have as much flavor as they normally do. My onion rings were decent, but they just weren't fried correctly because a lot of them were stuck together. The shakes were the highlight of the meal as they tasted delicious and we enjoyed them. Customer service is always great. It's just that, on this night, the food wasn't as tasty as it was the first time. We hope that the food gets back to the great taste that it used to have soon.

It was cooked perfectly, but what really made it unique was the Bordelaise sauce poured over the top. * Pommes Frites: some of the best fries I've had - thin cut and extremely crispy. * French Onion Soup: I was told the menu was recently updated and it no longer comes with the pastry top. However, it was still very enjoyable. One thing to note is that although it says on Yelp that dogs are allowed, it's actually service dogs only. Overall, the service was excellent, the food came out quickly (under ten minutes after ordering), and the happy hour is a great deal.

We shared the croquettes & baguette with shaved ham. Both were delicious and were a great start to our meal. I had the moules frites which featured a light broth with vadouvan cream (French curry) which was flavorful & the fries were crispy & perfectly seasoned. My friends enjoyed their entrees too. We didn't have any room for dessert so we didn't try anything. Service was warm, friendly and helpful.

Then I had a friend say that he actually met Bing Crosby here way back in the day so we were like "Okay, we gotta go now!" First of all the place is WAY bigger inside than it looks from the front and the decor is very comfortable and filled with tons of nostalgic pictures and photos of years gone by. A nostalgic, elegant vibe for a diner and you feel very comfortable inside. And the food is fantastic! (They also have wifi) I got the Corned Beef Hash & Eggs ($20.95) which has been a favorite since 1960! It is awesome corned beef served with 2 eggs, hash browns and your choice of toast or buttermilk pancakes. And those pancakes are some of the best tasting pancakes I've had - so delicious! ...and the corned beef, eggs over easy and hash browns were perfectly cooked and seasoned and it was an amazing breakfast! My sweetheart got Harry's famous Tuna Melt ($17.95) which is tuna salad with tomato, melted cheddar cheese served on grilled sourdough (add avocado for $2) and your choice of fries or fruit. She is a huge fan of tuna melts and she absolutely loved this one! It's good to see that Harry's is still doing it right - We will definitely be back.

Upon entering, we were directed to seat ourselves by the bus boy so as we proceeded. The server abruptly stopped us in our tracks and kind of rudely told us that he'd be with us and to wait. As he approached to seat us I informed him that the bus boy told us to seat ourselves and the server half jokingly asked who so I pointed to him. As for the food, we ordered sandwiches and fries. I got the turkey and brie sandwich with grilled onions and it was real carved turkey (so good). Unfortunately, the fries were soggy and not crispy and fresh. BFF had the Cubano sandwich and it was a good size but they put a thick piece of ham steak on it along with shredded pork that wasn't seasoned. He claims his fries were good and fresh. The ambience is cute, very clean and plenty of seating indoors and out for such a small restaurant. Prices are reasonable, too. Had it not been for the server rubbing me the wrong way upon entering as well as the soggy fries, I would have given this place 5 stars.

We ordered the biscuits and gravy, fruit cup, orange juice, and country burger Benedict. My biscuits and gravy were 6.50 and phenomenal! The gravy was delicious and a well made biscuit. The fruit was gross, half was good and half was old. The orange juice was pretty good too but 5 dollars for a glass of orange juice is ridiculous. The country burger Benedict was cooked beautifully but the meat was so bland. Not a speck of seasonings, which was a bummer because everything else was so good on it! Overall service was great, ambiance was meh, and food was good but also overpriced. We will probably eat here again but it won't be a first choice.

The pulled pork was delicious and the smoked meatloaf had just the right amount of smoke. For sides, I got the bacon, potato salad and the Street corn. I've had both of these sides before and they hit just right each time. I also ordered the bourbon pecan pie to go. This is the first time having the bourbon pecan pie. I did find some shelves in it, which were a little unpleasant, but at least I know that it's real pecans. It does have a strong bourbon flavor so it may not be the best for kids. To drink, I got the guava lemonade. I arrived with my pup and we sat outside. Everybody was super dog friendly. They brought a nice bowl of water for my guy. I ended up taking 2/3 of my meal home because the portions are big enough for two.

Definitely try their homemade "thousand Big Mac Chic Filet" sauce on the side, it's way better than the original. They also have spicy and reg BBQ sauce on the table, and the burgers are legit. Our server Maki (pronounced like the fish) was amazing, but honestly, the whole staff is top tier. She checked on us at least 5 times, kept the beer coming, and stayed on top of soda refills. Could not ask for better service. Between the World Cup specials and using the cohen DRg app, I did the math and you save about 7% for every $100 you spend. Great value and great vibs. If you want a solo test drive, definitely check out their Thursday all day burger, fry, and beer combo special also fire.
