What a great experience! If you're looking for a slightly touristy, upbeat atmosphere, this is the place to be. The dance breaks on the hour were silly and fun, and the hats for the table were a cute touch. The kids loved the arcade too, and it's a perfect place to wait while getting a table. The music was a little loud and the space can be a lot of stimulation, but it never detracted from the food or flow of the evening. You kind of know what you're getting in to when you go there, and the lively environment fits with the "50's sock hop" theme. Biff, the manager, really made sure we were taken care of and any concerns were listened to. And Buddy, our waiter, kept his enthusiasm throughout the night and effortlessly handled a table with multiple kids and a baby. So happy we came and definitely left a goofy smile on my face. It's located at Liberty Station, which is, what seems to be a historical park. So there's a giant shopping area, several restaurants, people playing croquet, and much more. We were able to find parking and it's free. Even during the holiday season and it being a tad crowded, we had no issue. The cafe is extremely well themed and there is so much to look at in here! Service was super welcoming and our waitress had a such a great extroverted, entertaining personality. I didn't get her name but if she ever wanted to be a maid at a maid cafe, she'd be one of the top favorites for sure, she was so fun and personable! We had straws tossed at us, silly jokes, there were cards in the ceiling, there was a live radio station DJ right next to our booth. It was awesome! This place is so FUN! It's very retro 50's-60's themed with each section and room having completely different themes as well? Super cool. There was one that looked like you were in a moving train car, one where it was neon and hippy themed, etc. Lots of photo opportunities and I recommend, maybe when waiting for your food just walk around and take a gander. Portions were MASSIVE. I thought I was going to be able to share an appetizer sampler (Garbage Plate) with everyone but everyone ended up ordering their own entrees making a huge massive amount of food that had to be taken home in like 4-5 to go boxes. So keep in mind your portions are gonna be larger than life. All of the food is very classic American fast food diner fare. You got your burgers, fries, sandwiches, and of course milkshakes. I also had to get an outrageous milk shake here and it was the chocolate chip brownie decadence which wasn't horribly sweet as I'd imagine and it's not as daunting as something you'd get from Black Tap. Easy to take to go too and not too thick and coagulated. For my regular drink, I got the Green River which is a nice green soda with lots of cherries on top. They also had seasonal cocktail drinks too, which is always fun. There's an arcade off to the side, you get complimentary food server hats, and even though the penny press machine gave me something off center and silly they let me have another one for free with their own coinage. We chose Corvette Diner to celebrate our son's birthday because he was excited about the atmosphere and had specifically requested it for his special day. Unfortunately, our experience did not meet our expectations. When we arrived, all in our party were both hungry and thirsty, but our drinks remained empty for an extended period of time. We understand that restaurants can become busy, and we try to be patient, but it was difficult not having refills acknowledged or offered. During our visit, we also mentioned that it was our son's birthday, however, this was never acknowledged by our server, which was disappointing given the occasion. The manager on duty did make an effort to address our concerns by comping our drinks and a bowl of soup, and we appreciated that gesture. However, the overall level of attention and service throughout the visit felt limited. Every dining experience can vary, and this review reflects only our visit. My recommendation would be not to arrive overly hungry or thirsty, as service may take longer than expected during busy periods. However, upon entering, we were immediately struck by the blaring music and brightly colored decor. The restaurant was packed, and between the scheduled dances and singing performances, it took quite a while before we received any assistance. Our server was friendly but was repeatedly pulled away for other duties, which significantly slowed down the meal. Once our order was placed, the food arrived relatively quickly. *Route 66 Roast Beef: an unusual combination of sliced sourdough topped with mashed potatoes, roast beef, and gravy. The bread became completely soaked, creating a rather heavy carbohydrate on carbohydrate dish. The mashed potatoes were easily the most flavorful component. Unfortunately, the gravy was doing most of the work, as the roast beef itself was quite overcooked. *Side Salad: included with my platter. The vegetables lacked both freshness and crispness so I was unable to finish it. *Butter Hop Scotch: I appreciated that the shake was served with the extra metal mixing cup on the side. The flavor was rich, buttery, and indulgent. I would have preferred a stronger malt presence, but it was still enjoyable and easily large enough to share. Ultimately, this felt more like a destination for families with young children than for those looking for a relaxing meal. The constant music, performances, and overall noise level made it difficult to enjoy the dining experience, and our server had little opportunity to check in on us. Management actually reached out to me after my Yelp review. They sent a very polished, very corporate message asking a few questions, so I replied with real answers. And then... nothing.. vapor. They ghosted the conversation they started! It felt less like customer service and more like I accidentally responded to an unplugged chat bot. I've been coming to Corvette since the Hillcrest days, back when the place had personality, it felt like they cared about their regulars. Menu prices are misleading as they now tack on a 5% hidden fee on the entire check! Even the game cards get the "inflation" fee tacked on.. which is wild. Now it feels like they're monetizing every possible interaction. Want a photo $$$$? Want a balloon animal$$$? Add in the shrinking hours and declining overall food quality, and it feels like they're coasting on nostalgia instead of earning it. I'm not rooting against them. I'd love to see the heart come back. But right now it's like watching an old friend who can't quite remember how to be themselves.. and takes your presence as a given. I may treat my kids to a birthday celebration there... but the days of dropping in mid week for a bite will be done at a smaller neighborhood joint. Oh, this is the most dope little spot if you have little ones.... this place is really cool However food wise just your typical fries burgers nothing really special on the food. I got a salad. It was OK nothing to rave about but who cares about the food? The kids had a blast. The whole ambience is pretty cool. They set us in an area with like a black light type of thing really took me back to the older days but also if you have a little flashlight or you can even use your Cell Phone flash and if you aim it at the table the kids get a kick out of that they have so much fun. My Girlfriend got the Grubbys Fish & Chips and tore that up as much as she can until she got full! The servings for everything are more than enough for anyone. My son order the B.L.A.S.T. Burger which has bacon, lettuce, guacamole, swiss, turkey, tomato & mayo on toasted sourdough and he too tore that up! My daughter and stepson got the chicken strips and fries and they both loved it and ate it all! Coming here adults will pay anywhere from 15-25 for a plate but please don't let that deter you from this place the service and the amount of food will take the edge off the price. The restaurant has a decent sized arcade and lots of seating. Our waitress Bonnie was really nice and my daughter loved getting her hair done with crazy sticks which was a fun perk. We got the BLAST and fish and chips. BLAST: a little low on the fillings for how much bread there is. Could have a little more flavor. The fries that came with it were really good. Fish and chips: three decent sized pieces of fish that were not too heavy on the batter. Tartar dipping sauce was really good, on the salty side which I like! It has been a long time...I mean, really long! And since I remember them from the past, which I miss...it's time to let go and embrace the future! Friendly greeting when we walked in, the hostess said it would be about five minutes, so we went to the arcade. Lots of games to keep everyone entertained. We were seated in the neon section with black lighting and neon colors on the wall. The only thing I didn't like was the open space between us and the table next to us. Our server was great! So sweet! Ordered a green river and my former students had milkshakes. We also ordered fried cheese and boneless wings to start...both very good! The girls both had burgers and I had the chicken fried steak. It's still as good as the first time I had it. Though the plate is much smaller than before...inflation! LOL! We didn't have room for dessert so that will have to wait until next time. The staff all performed a dance which was great to see. We came in on a busy Saturday night with our 2 kids (2 and a half & 1 month old). We bought the picture that they offered and put it on the back of the table and continued eating. We didn't know that are 2 1/2 year old wasn't feeling good. He threw up all over the booth, we were met with nothing but kindness from the staff - I didn't have a spare change of clothes so they gave him a free T-shirt. We were in such a rush to leave after that - that we ended up forgetting the picture. My husband called later that night and talked to Biff to see if they had saved it, but he said that they had to throw out everything on the table, but kindly offered free game tokens and milkshakes as a replacement. After coming here a second time, I realized I forgot to review it the first time. Corvette Diner isn't just a regular diner, it's an absolute experience. As soon as you walk in, you're met with a 1954 Corvette model and glowing neon lights all throughout. There is also a Gamers Garage arcade to accompany the multi themed rooms. There's the main dining room right behind the Corvette, with 50s style decor and a DJ booth. The railroad coach room is designed to feel like you're inside of a train with windows that play classic 50s movies and tv shows and arguably the best room, the groovy room is a glow in the dark space with lots of booths and a big retro feel to it. Wherever you sit, you'll soon be surprised by the large variety of milkshakes that are on the menu. From flavors like CPBB (chocolate peanut butter banana) to Chocolate covered strawberry, you'll definitely find the right shake for your taste. The waiters and waitresses might have a little sass depending on the day but it's all part of the experience, so don't be surprised if your straws get thrown at you! I can see why this was the family party spot, from a friend who suggested it as their childhood go-to spot. Prices are a little steep for the food but the portion sizes reflect that at being quite large. Fries were very good especially. The milkshakes were also nostalgic diner quality with presentation and taste. If your visiting during traveling, make sure you have a place for possible leftovers, or share a meal. The arcade was awesome as well though we didn't fully participate. I spent a couple bucks on the coin mystery prize machines and I appreciated that they keep to a low cost (50¢-1$). The arcade prize cashier was amazing and gave us a few games on the house (for fun no prizes). Overall great experience. We had a bit of a wait for our table, but it didn't feel long because there's a full arcade just steps away. Our servers were all in character, singing, dancing, and keeping the energy high, while still being super friendly and attentive. The food was meh but that doesn't seem to be the point. This place is crazy! Half of it is 50s diner and the other half is an arcade. Ok, really...half of the diner is lit by blacklights and has the posters to go with accordingly. Even the table glows in the dark! Anyway, the food is way better than diner fare are you can get anything from a bowl of chili to salmon alfredo. Which is exactly what my family did. Wife loved her pasta and the kids ate the chili like it was their last meal ever. So, that's a win. The milkshakes were good. We got the orange creamsicle and the Elvis. I went to Corvette Diner as a kid and loved it so I wanted to bring my kiddo. For some reason I remember staff having roller skates but I guess that's not a thing anymore. The music was LOUD. Really, really loud for a family environment. They have parking directly behind the building that's convenient. Note, they have a 3 hr limit. Staff was nice and our waiter really tried their best to make it fun. Food we tried: Scooby doo drink - too sweet Garbage plate - feeds 4 adults. The amount of French fries is crazy. Everything was okay tasting. Kid didn't like the food. Chili burger - really big, a bit dry but good. We didn't get the side we ordered until after we asked about it. Spent $10 on arcade games but was only able to play 3 games before it was gone. I didn't understand the two tiered credit system. The claw machine claws were very loose and didn't grab anything. I don't think I will be back as it just didn't hit that nostalgia for me and my kid didn't like the environment, the food or the games. It was also pretty pricey at $100. read more
