I've been a customer of the Shell Monthly Car Wash for a little over a year and been enjoying coming to this place for my car wash and gas. I just recently used their smog inspection service too and felt satisfied with the job they did. After the smog inspection, I received my car registration quick - within a week! This unfortunately is not the first time I've been refused service at this location. With the bay empty, I was told straight faced that I needed an appointment; the shop was completely booked according to the attendant. This happens whenever the owner is not there. The owner is a complete service oriented member of our community; however, his staff at times lacks the sensitivity to treat customers accordingly. It's a sad day. Terrible service. Signed up for car wash some time ago. Tried to cancel in person, was told nobody was there to cancel. I called, was told nobody was there to cancel. Apparently, you can only cancel your car wash membership during the morning. I told the employee that I work during the mornings and am unavailable to call, so I asked that he take a message to whoever can process the cancellation. Guess what? Apparently he doesn't talk to the manager and cannot take a message. Do not do business with them. Terrible service. There's always someone to take new car wash subscriptions but always no one to cancel. read more

This review is long overdue as I have been a long time customer at this shell and have never given this place the 5 star review they deserve. I come mainly for the carwash because my car always comes out spotless and has much shorter lines than a lot of the neighboring car washes, plus when you get a carwash they give a 50 cent discount per gallon of gas. The staff is always super helpful. The manager Bassam always checks my car after it gets wiped down to make sure I'm happy with my wash. These guys are awesome keep doing what you're doing. read more

This is how to turn a 1-star review starting with "Do not go here. Ever." into a 5+-star review. I once bought my propane from here regularly. Since it had been a while since I'd been here, I asked how much propane cost now since I had two tanks to fill. "$4.99/gallon plus tax" was the answer from the guy filling the tanks. I was sick so put the two tanks down and let him know why I was keeping my distance. When he was almost done, I saw a small-print sign next to the propane spigot (likely designed for employees, not the public) saying it was $5.99/gallon and asked, to which he replied that "they must have changed it." And then I heard him tell the cashier about his mistake over the walkie talkie, but when I went in to pay, I explained that the employee misquoted the price. It didn't matter. He charged me $5.99/gallon. My original review offered some advice including: Honor your employee's mistake by charging the quoted price. The owner and manager, Ed, reached out to me inviting a meeting. It was obvious within seconds that he valued long-term business from locals, apologized for the misunderstanding, and - even though I was only grumpy about the delta in price - he more than made up for it, suggesting I give whatever compensation I don't need to someone out at the pumps who needed it more. I will do exactly that. :) Thanks, Ed, for converting an awful experience at a place I like coming to into a great experience next time! My only remaining suggestion is to empower your senior employees to make similar decisions where it makes sense. Guide them to be better and your business will be even better. Read before doing anything at this service station! I was on the way home from picking up my brother and got a flat tire. I pulled into the gas station hoping to find help and was told I could not park there. I asked very nicely and told them Mercedes was on the way to pick up the car with a tow truck and they told me to get it out of the parking lot. I proceeded to offer to pay them as they are a service and repair shop and figured they would be happy to help! This couldn't have been further from the truth. It's really sad to see how rude the two gentlemen were when in a time of need. If you want to support an auto shop that treats people horrible this is your place. My dad went to smog a truck i gifted him. (That truck has always passed the smog) now that this place smoged the truck it supposedly not pass. He made up a bunch of things saying why it did not pass, that were not true. He said bring it back and it might pass, my dad took it again, he charged him again and still did not pass, again saying a bunch of excuses. I was very happy with the service they tended to my mother these last few visits. The manager in particular pays attention to my mom's issues and does so with a smile. He is very patient, and that speaks volumes to his professionalism. The mechanic who serviced my mothers car found some issues we were not aware about, and when I interjected some options he listened to my opinions. The services we contracted were oil change, and with that oil change came a full diagnostic. We were made aware of stripped threads on the oil pan and a low battery charge retention. We'll continue coming here for the professional service and car wash, and an added benefit is their location is right off the freeway 5. read more

With integrity I must remove 1 star for the reasons below. Gratefully it doesn't really affect their rating. Update: Prices have recently increased. Now $5.95, $8, $10.95. Not a huge deal, but if it increases anymore, the tight squeeze and maneuvering in/out may no long be worth it to me. Just being honest. Vacuum nozzles have been changed as well. They look nice, but I find they are harder to reach tight crevices in my car. I'm developing a collection of vacuum tokens. Maybe I can sell them back for a free wash? Haha Staff is still awesome and friendly. They give out FREE hot dogs to their customers on the weekend with a smile! I always decline, but I'm grateful for the offer. I come here as an alternate choice than the one on Palm Ave. The gas here is a little cheaper for the super. There is also a car wash here. I was in need of a car wash after the rain we had. My receipt was valid for 14 days and today was the 14th day so I needed to use it before I wasted some money on a car wash. The guy at the front guides you on the track. Once you are on the track, he will ask you if you want a token and a free towel. Cool. I always get it cause it is free! Once your car is on the track, you put your car in neutral and don't step on the brakes. You are guided through the car wash as soap is on your car and the red and green cloth brushes through your car. The next step is the water rinse, and then the exit. Once you exit, put your car back in drive and pull up to the guys that dry off your car. They hand you a scented paper to put in your car. I just do not like how this is on the corner near the freeway. It is hard to get in and out of here. The gas is a little cheaper here. I like coming here for the car wash though. It's 20 cents off per gallon, if you opt for a car wash. You usually get an annoying prompt at the pump display, asking if you want a car wash, before pumping your gas. This time, I figured I could save some money, especially with today's gas prices. So, I selected 'yes' to a car wash. Besides, I hadn't gotten my car washed in about six months. They have a separate vacuuming area, before the car wash entrance. I like that because I can vacuum my own car and make sure I get the areas that I want to get and avoid the areas I don't, like my cup holder that doubles as my earring and ring catcher. I was greeted at the car wash display, prior to entering, and prior to drying my car. I was given an air freshener patch and asked if I'd like a complimentary towel, as well. Don't come here. It's a rip off. If you read the negative reviews on here, it's all true and with good reason. I've always come here before to get inspections for my car at the price point of $40. Cheap right?! I loved it. I come back not a year later only to find out that they're charging $90 "as they always have." Obviously this is a lie. I see that they lie about prices all the time. Not only that, but they also are very rude to you. To top it off, I read in an earlier comment that they looked up someones records to yell at them about their review. You can't just call someone on their cell that they provided to HARASS! What the hell kind of business is this? That's horrible. I would have filed a police report. Anyways they also speak horrible English. Don't come here if you care at all about your car or your money. For what it's worth though, they did help me move my car to a safe spot. DO NOT GO HERE. Abby is the most HORRENDOUSLY RUDE, arrogant, entitled employee I have ever come across. She insisted that I wait for a male employee to update my car wash card despite the fact that I have consistently been charged for the car wash membership monthly for several months this past year and despite the fact that I told her I was in a rush to attend an event. I hadn't even thought about the paper card "expiring" because I am charged on auto-pay! Did she want to see my credit card records?! She then proceeded to call me names in another language to the male employee, multiple times. After I confirmed with the male that I signed up for the lowest tier of their car wash, Abby threw a fit. I told them as I started to leave, "Next time, if someone is in a rush, do not waste their time." Abby spat back at me in a mocking, condescending tone, "Next time don't lie" or something of the sort. I walked back to the male and said, "You know what? Cancel my membership." Abby yelled, "GOOD." I guess she is happy to lose a loyal Shell customer. The male, unfortunately, said that I would have to come back tomorrow because he "could not" cancel my membership. I asked for their names, but he did not provide his. Abby proudly proclaimed her name. She then spat another slur to the male as I walked toward the exit and continued to yell out the door as I walked to my car. I have NEVER met an employee so unprofessional, condescending, and immature. It felt like a personal attack, perhaps because I am of Asian descent or look significantly younger than I am. Buyer Beware Called this location to get an oil change and they advertised a $45 dollar oil change. I asked how long the wait was and the service manager wouldn't tell me. I figured whatever and pulled in, despite the sign he told me $65 instead of $45. I bring up the price difference and the guy tells me that I missed the special. Even though its a professional permanent sign, I just want to get in and out so I submit to this guy. After about 30 minutes he says the work is done. He gives me the invoice and now the price is $101!! I bring it up and he says it's for taxes and hazmat disposal fee, even though the taxes and disposable fee are clearly marked as only 12 dollars. The guy cant explain the difference in price but says that the $65 thing I signed was just an estimate and if I don't want to pay he will just keep my car. OMG! Stay away! Update The service manager called me twice after I had reported his shady tactics to the BBB, telling me that everything was false and just started screaming into the phone. I don't know how he got my number other than the fact that it was in my records for having the vehicle serviced there. So that must mean that he went through the records to find my phone number to call and harass me. read more

DO NOT GO TO THIS CAR WASH!!! The deal is great, .20 discount on gas for buying a $5 car wash. Well I go up to the wash, and the guy starts scrubbing my car with a big blue brush. Maybe this brush is meant for washing cars, but I'll tell you right now... it is NOT for black cars!!! Use it on the windows only!!! At the time, I figured this brush must have soft bristles, but when I got home I almost cried as I saw the scratches ALL OVER my car. Rough, noticeable, almost white, scratches. It was not worth saving a buck to get my car's paint completely damaged. I don't know what to do right now, as I'm sure they'll tell me I have no proof that it was their fault. At least I can inform yelp readers and hope you never go through this. I am going back there tomorrow though, just to see what they say. UPDATE: I went back and OF COURSE the manager completely denied that their dirty blue brush could scratch my car. I guess those scratches just magically appeared on my car then!? A few weeks ago, I went to fill up and get a car wash (as always), however, my back window was a little opened because it was broken, I was aware it would get wet inside but that did not concern me. To my surprise, Salwen and Mayrin went above and beyond to help me fix that! They "pulled up" my window and covered the gap with a big bag and tape. 2009 COROLLA Came in later at about 4:00 P.M. and asked for the oil change and to check all systems. With no notice Coronado Shell's lead mechanic and other mechs hopped right to it and finished everything wthin about 40 minutes. Also change out oil filters that were in bad shape and made recommendation for what could be done during my next checkup. I am always satisfied with mechanical and technical ompendability of the Coronado Shell Station. The staton also has outstanding management. Paid $12 for the car wash and it still had so much dirt and grime on both sides, hood and trunk that the towel (they give you for free) was black after I wiped it down myself... Even though they have attendants that dry it for you! Even the license plate looked like I just used a hose to spray it off! I started coming here for car washes because I was driving Uber and Lyft the attendant at the entrance to the car wash is always so friendly. I miss the free cloths! I have also taken advantage of the $29.99 oil change and often will upgrade my oil type or do an oil flush. There is one mechanic/service advisor. He is Asian, and he is an amazing person quite often when I'm having my oil changed he will make me aware that my car is also due for another service and he'll quote me the price for service and parts. Even one time my tail light covers were cracked and he was able to get replacements at an excellent price. I feel much more comfortable and confident bringing my car here for auto repairs then I do the dealer! At Coronado Shell they are not trying to make extra money from you. They are just helping you keep your car running safe. My check engine light came on about a month ago and I've got to go there and see what's happening because my car is out of warranty, and I am too afraid to even drive it on the dealers lot and ask about the issue! I know that the mechanics at Coronado Shell even the owner care about me as a customer, whether I'm buying a can of Coca-Cola five dollars worth of gas or $500 and necessary repairs! read more
