While I was waiting got myself some snacks from the market that they have attached and also after got done with my oil change. To begin with I felt the repair they did on my car was too expensive. I felt too that the job took a bit longer than it should have. I only went there because they were suggested by AAA as only 2 mile from where I was. The transmission gave out on me 2 months and 2000 miles after the warranty expired. I felt they could have offered me some sort of deal to win me back. a thus one star instead of 2. I'll not go there for any reason, nor would I suggest them to anyone. On the positive side. They did give me a ride back to the house. The driver was plesant. The shop appeared to be clean. I've used Shell gas in the past and as I recall got good mileage. Had my Transmission not crapped after the warranty expired they would have been a solid 3 stars.I really don't like rating a place only star but I'd hate it if a friend went in expecting a 4 star experience and only got a one star experience. Very rude manager. (Not very bright either) they don't seem to comprehend basic English. Combine that with their lack of desire to be helpful and you have a recipe for frustration. Oh and beware when you use their credit card machine at the pump, it overcharges you and their response is, "If you choose to use the outside machine and something goes wrong it's not our problem." read more

I run to him everytime I needed something and I feel kind of guilty for doing that, I should exchange pleasantries just because we've known him since the gas station opened in 1985! I have been taking my vehicles to Coronado Shell for18 years and am totally satisfied with the quality and skill of their mechanics. My Father has been taking his vehicles to Coronado Shell for over 30 years when it was under previous ownerships and still does under current ownership. When I take my car in for servicing and recently to replace the water pump I see the owner, Ed who greets me and asks about my father and family. The mechanics are skilled and the prices are reasonable. A good auto repair shop is really important to me almost as important as a good physician and dentist (almost).... I've taken my vehicles for servicing closer to my home (Alpine) and wasn't impressed and paid more for what Coronado Shell charges. I recommend them and will continue having my cars serviced and repaired there. read more

I and a business trip with a last minute need to have my car serviced. The mechanics were so understanding of my sense for urgency that they treated this with priority. My car was ready within two hours! They even had my car cleaned looking brand new!! I couldn't believe how professional the staff were and understanding!! My car was also working like brand new. I truly felt like a VIP! The owner even called me later the same day making sure I was satisfied with the service! Not going back to get a car wash, i paid at the machine with my card and then the machine freeze so the guy goes and tells me that it didnt receive the payment and that i had to go inside to pay again for it. I asked him if i get overcharge would i get my money back, he said "yes" so after my car was finish he went to the other side and told me to go pay once again so i parked my car and went inside to pay in cash so three days later i notice i got charge in my card for the car wash so i paid $10 for a $5 car wash and i went back to tell the guy that i got charge in my credit card and the responds he gives me is "oh you already paid for your car wash you have 15 days to use it" and i talk to another person in there and he gave me the same answer so i just took off i got rip off at this gas station. read more

They diagnosed my issue very quickly. And had it repaired within the same. I am very pleased with their work and the price was very fair. I am self-employed and my work depends on having my truck. Troubleshooting my car's issues My car is from Massachusetts an I was having a hard time getting it to pass smog after several mechanics and over $1,000 I took it to Shell. I didn't really want to pay $90 for a diagnostic test but my car had now broke down on the freeway an I got it towed there so I really didn't have a choice. PHEW - What a great experience, he only fixed what was broken. He found parts that were cheaper but still quality. He explained to me why my car wouldn't pass smog. I needed a fuel pump (how knew). UGH!!! While it is an expensive repair (fuel pumps for my old car are not cheap), being able to register my car after 5 years of it being in CA was worth it! Thank you guys. OH AND MOST IMPORTANTLY. It took longer then they thought it would. When my car overheated it caused a part of the engine to bend and break, also the fuel pump didn't go in as smoothly as planned. So it took extra time but the price didn't go up because of the mechanics working on it longer then the initial allotted time as it has in other shops. I appreciate that we agreed on a price and it stayed that price. They called me along the way to let me know that what things were indeed broken and what things were salvageable. read more

Zero stars if I could, negligence In their work when I had them change my pulley sprocket, costed around $1200. They used wrong parts which costed $2000 more in damage and repairs and when confronted about the problem to the manager he did not accept that his work caused the damage and refused to even listen to what happened to the vehicle because of the work I had them do. I came in on 2/3/15 for an oil change and felt so welcomed and we'll taken care of! They had me in and out within less then an hour because they knew I was on my lunch break from work. They kept updating me on what actions were being taken and gave me a free car wash. The owner is sooo friendly and welcoming who comes out to meet all the customers with a smile and shakes your hand. It was such an impressive service that I decided to come back again on 7/13/15 for another oil change on my lunch break and met the same exact expectation as my previous visit. Great gas prices. Usually 20 cents less than Shell stations near where I live. Luckily this station is close to work. Then you get at least 20 cents off for a carwash. Luis and the other guys that man the carwash are great and hand dry your car. Never have used the oil change or service department. read more
