Top Flight is a great choice if you're looking for a Part 61 flight school. Their rates are very…read morereasonable and competitive in the area, and their policies are straightforward and fair. You won't feel burdened by rules potentially working against you, unlike at some other flight schools. Additionally, with all the advantages they offer, there are no "hidden fees." The charges are very fair compared to other places. Top Flight partners with a local mechanic shop based at Corona (KAJO), so any minor fixes or maintenance services are relatively quick compared to schools that need to relocate their planes to other airports. I personally had a minor issue during a preflight, and the mechanics quickly came to the parking area and fixed it on the spot. I was still able to fly the same day without cancellation. All their airplanes are well-maintained and follow FAA regulations, which gives peace of mind. Speaking of location, Corona Municipal Airport (KAJO) is a relatively relaxed and less busy, non-towered airport. This is ideal for training if you're just starting out, as there's no pressure from ATC. You can focus more on flying the plane with your CFI and practice your radio communications later when you're ready. Most of the time, KAJO is less busy compared to other airports with lots of flight schools and high traffic. You rarely waste time or money waiting on the ground for sequencing. However, because it's a relaxed, local airport, you should exercise more caution, as sometimes curious individuals might get too close to the taxiways or runway areas. As for the airplanes, Top Flight has plenty of Cessna 172s, from models N, M, and the SP. You can choose between traditional six-pack avionics or upgraded Garmin G5 with a Garmin GTN 650 touchscreen, depending on your needs. If you're looking for Technically Advanced Aircraft (TAA) or high-performance training, Top Flight has a Cessna 182T, fully equipped with the G1000 and KAP140 autopilot. It's a great, versatile performer for training or renting out for trips. Renting airplanes at Top Flight is hassle-free. Once you're checked out, booking your flight is easy. Dispatch is a DIY process--you simply pick up the keys and return them after your flight, so there's no need to worry about business hours or needing staff to be present. However, as a pilot, the responsibility for the flight always falls on you, so make sure to thoroughly perform all checks before taking off. Overall, the environment at Top Flight is relaxed and supportive. The staff members are kind and welcoming, and you can easily tell management has deep knowledge and passion for aviation. David and Pardis are always helpful if you have any questions or need guidance toward your training goals. For anyone considering flight training, just come and see for yourself--you'll notice the difference.

Affordable Avionics

I am a pilot and aircraft owner...my aircraft are hangared at KCNO, which happens to be the same…read moreairport where Affordable is located. At this time there are two main avionics shops on the field, plus a few maintenance facilities that will also do basic avionics installs. Deepun has always provided me with what I would consider to be good overall customer service...it's not perfect, but it's good overall...he gave me fair estimates and completed most projects on time and within the estimate. There were a couple of times that the price went up during the project, but that was due to unforeseen issues with a 53 y/o aircraft...each service tech I worked with were all good guys, who did a solid job on demo and installs. Martin, Raymond, and Richard have all worked on my aircraft for routine jobs such as pitot static check, to major trouble shooting and rewiring, and install jobs. I reconfigured my Cherokee 180 panel instruments, removed some, added an Aspen Pro 1000, Stratus ADS-B transponder, Stratus usb outlets, and new 406 ELT. The project ran about a month longer than anticipated, but things come up and patience is a virtue when having anything worked on with aircraft. For our Bölkow 208, Richard carefully removed some older equipment and added a Garmin 327 Txp, and PS Engineering PAR 200A audio panel-COM...I realized my volt meter and fuel gauge wasn't working after delivery so Richard came to the hangar the following week and fixed the issue within a couple of hours...some tightening of fasteners on the main buss bar was the issue...problem solved. ***(I do need to have either Richard or Martin take a look at the Bölkow again though as I'm wondering if Richard re-wired the Audio Panel/COM to plug jacks for stereo...Doesn't seem like it...sounds more mono...I know they'll figure it out quickly and make it right if there's an error)...I just haven't had a chance to bring it back in since having the plane repainted. On my Cherokee project Raymond called and responded to emails and/or texts with good timeliness...and was clear in his communication. Alex and her assistant in the office have always treated me well and with good communication too...I feel welcome at Affordable when I stop in to ask a question or to just say hi. I always recommend Affordable to other aircraft owners as my experiences have been positive and reasonable with them. I wish there was a 4.5 star rating and I'll tell you why: 1. Each project has went past the projected time frame. And not by just a couple of days...more like 3-5 weeks over. I would rather they overestimated the probable time frame, and then come in ahead of time or on time...that would be a better business practice 2. There was a somewhat questionable charge on one of my major projects. Now the overall bill came out to nearly $20K...so its not chicken feed...well the amount of the charge in question was about $200. I would've thought that they would've waived that based on the total amount I spent...but that was not to be...so I thought that was ticky tack especially since I've referred several people there, made very positive comments about their work, and have always paid my bills on time and in full. I'd like to mention one other thing that I appreciate about Affordable. They will work with aircraft owners who bring in customer supplied avionics or would like to use equipment that maybe isn't mainstream. I cannot say that about some of their competition. Thank you Deepun and Staff at Affordable Avionics
