I am totally satisfied with this company they did a fantastic job on my Piper Arrow I could not be more pleased if you think about getting your plane painted use these guys you won't be dissatisfied they kept in touch with me the whole time sent me updated photos Luis was awesome he answered his phone when I called him kept good communications. They did everything they said they would do and did not jack up the price unusual for an aircraft company. I couldn't be happier. Jim Catchings.

Corona Air Paint took a concept and turned into an absolute piece of work with my airplane. Everyone that sees my Cessna R182 comments about how awesome the paint and interior looks. The attention to detail and straightforward business approach is unparalleled. Very easy to work with and responsive to questions. No hidden costs and extremely honest and helpful. I don't only recommend them, it is worth every penny in time and expense to fly your plane to Corona Air and Paint. You won't be disappointed.

I was on a flight near one of Top Flight Aviation's aircraft and I had a few safety concerns with the pilot that rented the aircraft. I called and spoke with Pardis and told him I wanted to debrief the flight with him. Pardis was very receptive and we discussed the rental pilots actions that gave way to my safety concerns. Pardis even went the extra mile and contacted the pilot who rented the aircraft and spoke with him about my concerns. Pardis then circled back around with me and validated my concerns after he spoke with the pilot who indicated that he had become complacent. I was EXTREMELY impressed with Pardis' professionalism and customer service!!!! His commitment to safety is impressive and with his leadership we can all become safer pilots!!!!

Top Flight is a great choice if you're looking for a Part 61 flight school. Their rates are very…read morereasonable and competitive in the area, and their policies are straightforward and fair. You won't feel burdened by rules potentially working against you, unlike at some other flight schools. Additionally, with all the advantages they offer, there are no "hidden fees." The charges are very fair compared to other places. Top Flight partners with a local mechanic shop based at Corona (KAJO), so any minor fixes or maintenance services are relatively quick compared to schools that need to relocate their planes to other airports. I personally had a minor issue during a preflight, and the mechanics quickly came to the parking area and fixed it on the spot. I was still able to fly the same day without cancellation. All their airplanes are well-maintained and follow FAA regulations, which gives peace of mind. Speaking of location, Corona Municipal Airport (KAJO) is a relatively relaxed and less busy, non-towered airport. This is ideal for training if you're just starting out, as there's no pressure from ATC. You can focus more on flying the plane with your CFI and practice your radio communications later when you're ready. Most of the time, KAJO is less busy compared to other airports with lots of flight schools and high traffic. You rarely waste time or money waiting on the ground for sequencing. However, because it's a relaxed, local airport, you should exercise more caution, as sometimes curious individuals might get too close to the taxiways or runway areas. As for the airplanes, Top Flight has plenty of Cessna 172s, from models N, M, and the SP. You can choose between traditional six-pack avionics or upgraded Garmin G5 with a Garmin GTN 650 touchscreen, depending on your needs. If you're looking for Technically Advanced Aircraft (TAA) or high-performance training, Top Flight has a Cessna 182T, fully equipped with the G1000 and KAP140 autopilot. It's a great, versatile performer for training or renting out for trips. Renting airplanes at Top Flight is hassle-free. Once you're checked out, booking your flight is easy. Dispatch is a DIY process--you simply pick up the keys and return them after your flight, so there's no need to worry about business hours or needing staff to be present. However, as a pilot, the responsibility for the flight always falls on you, so make sure to thoroughly perform all checks before taking off. Overall, the environment at Top Flight is relaxed and supportive. The staff members are kind and welcoming, and you can easily tell management has deep knowledge and passion for aviation. David and Pardis are always helpful if you have any questions or need guidance toward your training goals. For anyone considering flight training, just come and see for yourself--you'll notice the difference.

Affordable Avionics

After being unable to get Affordable to complete a transponder installation for two months, I took…read morethe aircraft back and brought it to APR Aviation in Fresno. I was disturbed at the installation defects they reported and fixed.

Totally incompetent and they don't seem to care! Stay away!…read more I purchased a PA-28 in March of 2021. In October of 2019, Affordable Avionics installed a complete Aspen PFD and MFD 1000, along with a Garmin GPS 175/GNX 375. The previous owner had heart issues (which is why he sold the aircraft) and was unable to do much flying to test the avionics. The previous owner was kind enough to accompany me from KVNY (where my aircraft is based) to Affordable (KCNO) to have the backup battery for the MFD installed. It was done and we were on our way in a couple of hours. Then: We were informed the incorrect battery was installed as Affordable was unaware that they are serial number specific. So we went back to Chino to have the correct battery installed. We were told it would be real quick so we waited. Then: After the install the MFD would not go back on even though it was working fine when we got there. So we left the plane at KCNO to be fixed. To their credit, Affordable delivered the plane to KVNY. Then: I noticed the MFD was not even secured to the panel and was just hanging there. Another trip to KCNO was required. I wanted to have a vertical compass installed anyway, so I just did it all at the same time. After securing the MFD and installing the card, I paid the bill and asked if they calibrated the compass. They pointed to the compass rose and told me I could do it (also told me any private pilot should know how to do it). Maybe this is true, but I'm a CFII and must have had some pretty crappy training because I've never done it. They acquiesced and calibrated the compass. Then: I went to fly some approaches and noticed the Aspen was not communicating with localizer frequencies, although it picked up VOR's. Further, the analog glide slope put me 400 feet low according to ATC. Then: I called Affordable and was told the Analog to Digital converter must be bad and it was still under warranty, but their labor was not. I questioned the quality of the install and was assured everything worked perfectly when it left the shop. Not wanting to go back to KCNO I was referred a local avionics person who has a shop at KWHP. I took the plane to him to have a look. Within ONE HOUR he found out that Affordable had installed a diode backwards. Yes, BACKWARDS. A diligent technician has this system up and running. FINALLY! So, there is absolutely no possible way this was "working perfectly" when it left the shop. Further, it seems they have absolutely no concern as they have not returned texts or emails. I would not recommend this shop at all.

I brought my dad here for his birthday, and everyone was so friendly!…read more Our reservation fell through (they said only women pick up the phone, but a man had answered when I called, so maybe there was a mix-up?), yet they were so accommodating to reschedule us for a few hours later in the same day. From the receptionist to the licensed pilot who instructed my dad to the employee who drove the cart to allow me to watch take-off, everyone was amazing! Jose (the flight instructor) allowed my dad to take control of the majority of the flight, which we appreciated so much! His hands-off approach helped my dad achieve his lifelong dream of flying a plane :) He was even so humble, he wouldn't accept a tip for his helpfulness even when he deserved it Bryce (who drove me to the take-off area) spotted their plane that I would've otherwise missed, and ensured I had the perfect angle for the video! He also told me about the tracking site which gave me peace-of-mind as I checked their location and progress The receptionist (whose name I didn't catch) was so patient with all of my questions while in the waiting area for an hour. She even went to the back to retrieve different T-shirt color and size options and a plastic bag to carry the clothes in! There were a few other employees who greeted us and made small-talk as well~ One woman informed us to the complimentary coffee and the locations of the restrooms. A different instructor calmed our nerves while we waited for our appointment. Overall, extremely pleasant customer service! Thank you Jose and Bryce for the hospitality and the one-of-a-kind flight experience! And thank you Jose for taking a beautifully-captured video of my dad flying the plane!

I own a flight school at John Wayne Airport but I don't have a twin-engine aircraft and I needed to…read moredo some specialized training for myself. I went to Dubois for two reasons: first, their 1958 Piper Apache is a beautiful twin that I've been wanting to fly for its wonderful handling, old-school look, and favorable single-engine capabilities. Second, I knew of the owner, Lou DuBois, from having been an aviation professor at Orange Coast College and having students who went to DuBois. I had heard of Lou through many of my friends in aviation. He had a good reputation. Potential students have to understand that a flight school is just a building. What REALLY matters is your instructor. The rest is just noise. Select a school based on their instructors. I liked DuBois because it is an "old-school" flight school. The kind that dotted airports across the country and provided most of us with our ratings in decades past. It's run by regular pilots who want to give back and make a living doing it. Conversely, today's modern "flight academies" are a crap-shoot of questionable maintenance and instructors who are only there to gain hours and who hate their jobs. Most of them have CFI certificates with the ink on them still wet. It's the blind leading the blind and perpetuating terrible flying habits. I had heard that DuBois had good CFIs. I got lucky and got a great instructor in John Z.; a guy who, like me, cares deeply about his students. He's not in it for the money or the time or title. He cares about making good pilots. Like I said before, a school is only as good as their CFIs, and I don't know the rest of their team, but John was great. We hit it off personally and he was a great resource and genuinely cared about getting me done. Your mileage, of course, may vary depending on who you get. But never settle when it comes to a CFI. Never. My experience was great. Like all flight schools, there will be delays for maintenance and a thousand other things, but DuBois fulfilled all my expectations and they were nice, and personable, and honest. DuBois has good people. You can't ask for more. I wouldn't hesitate to send folks to DuBois to learn to fly or get other ratings. And their Apache is one of the best deals out there.
