It was not the biggest and newest but it was an ok place to stay for a night. The breakfast was good and had a lot of choices. I think if you stay here for more than 3 nights it's not the best, but if you are waiting for your house this is a good place for a night or two. The pool was calming and had a beautiful view but the water was cold, we did get to use the corolla light amenities when we were at the inn. I think this place is a place to explore corolla and not just be in your room. Overall it was a good time, everywhere was pretty close. Best for 2 to 3 people and good for couple.

Corolla Light has a bunch of houses and condos on the ocean side of Route 12 but most(if not all) the rental houses on the Sound side have an affiliation with the Corolla Light as well. They have a small shuttle bus that picks up people on the Sound side of Route 12 so you do not need to drive to the location. There is a small parking lot for about 20 cars in front of the basketball courts but it gets filled quickly, so walking, biking, or using the shuttle is usually the way to get there from your rental property. There is no fitness center at the Corolla Light location with the pools, it is called the Richard Brindley Sportscenter located about 1 mile south on Route 12. (Located next to the Grass Course Mini-golf - the sportscenter does not show up on Google maps) It has an indoor 25 meter pool, 2 indoor tennis courts, racquet ball court, volleyball court, cardio room with several treadmills, elliptical machines, bikes, and one stepper. Also a fitness rooms with dumbells up to 60 lbs. and several machines including a vertical Smith machine. They have 2 large pools one that is 3.5 - 5 feet deep and one that is deeper. Plenty of space. There is a restaurant located at the pools to eat at as well as order poolside. There are 4 full basketball courts with different size balls (27.5" to regular size) provided. Not great quality but good enough to mess around. There is also a little kids play area (no swings), beach volleyball court, and 2 shuffle board courts. They also have a walkway for beach access with a nearby lifeguard station and you can rent surf boards on the beach. We were there in just now July, so despite the 90-100 degree temperature, the water temp max'd out at only 60 degrees so wet suits are necessary. The waves were 0.5 - 1.5 feet so surfing was possible but not great. Near the entrance to the property, they have rental area (bikes, surfboads, boogie boards, and wet suits, but no fishing gear (see my review on Corolla Bait and Tackle) as well as several restaurants, one Mexican and one BBQ but I did not eat there so not sure how they are. They also have 2 ponds near the entrance to the property that are probably stocked because it was very easy to catch fish there. Sunfish, bluegill. Overall, a lot of good amenities if you are staying in an associated property. Just remember your wristband.

Our experience with Twiddy Vacation Rentals in the OBX was beyond disappointing. What was…read moreadvertised as a premium beach house felt more like the Motel 6 of vacation rental companies. The listing was inaccurate, and several amenities that were clearly advertised were either broken or not available at all. Some bathrooms didn't even have basic supplies like toilet paper. One shower had such low water pressure it was completely unusable. The dishwasher was broken for the entire week, which meant hand-washing dishes for 14 guests, three meals a day, for seven days. That is not what anyone signs up for on vacation. The house itself was not properly cleaned. There were cobwebs on multiple surfaces, visible rust throughout, and an overall neglected feel. For the price we paid, the condition of the property was unacceptable. Customer service was effectively nonexistent. We reported the issues, and nothing meaningful was done to resolve them during our stay. There was no urgency, no accountability, and no effort to make things right. Also worth noting: reviews appear to be filtered, showing only glowing feedback. Based on our experience, you are not getting the full picture when you read the listings. For the amount of money these homes command, expectations should be much higher. We would strongly recommend considering another rental company. You've been warned. Terrible consistent reviews on TrustPilot, Yelp and many other pages. The feeling is clearly unanimous and Twiddy clearly does not care.

Would not recommend staying here if you have pets since the grass is never cut and yard is very overgrown. Lots of snakes and ticks. We called to inform them but nobody ever came, even though we were told they would . House has serious sewerage issues. Feces came up from the drains and caused the entire floor to smell like crap. We called multiple times and someone did come out, but the guy told us the owners needs to have the sewage cleaned more often and it's never done. This happened 3 different times while we were there. I expected a call from someone , anyone, to follow up.... I even messaged a requested a call from management multiple times ... was told they would call me, but after multiple excuses over a week passed and I never received a call . I did get a text saying they'd refund us $500 which is nothing in comparison to what we paid and the disgusting issues we had to deal with .

This rental property failed to provide basic necessities and supplies to make an extended stay comfortable. If you ask your guests to "wipe down the stove and oven daily..." you ought to provide some type of cleaner. Sheets and blankets had holes in them. Most of the blankets had people and animal hair on them and stunk. When we went to wash the blankets the washer turn knob came right off making the washer un-usable. Bathrooms were dingy and dirty. We weren't allowed to put the thermostat lower than 72 degrees which means there was likely something wrong with their system but they don't want to get it fixed. Many of the outside lounge chairs were cracked. The whole experience was disappointing to say the least. We'll be avoiding this home in the future.

It was so filthy that my daughter and I both suffered allergy attacks from breathing the dust and pollen from that dirty filter. I called the company and they did not send anyone out to change the filters. I had to go to Ace Hardware and by a replacement filter because we could not sleep there all week with the one they had in there. The blind on my mother and sister room was missing. We called and they never came to replace it. The kitchen was too small and inadequate for more than 5 people to stay in. The beds are too old and need to be replaced. The washing machine and dryer work but they at so loud you can hear them all over the house. The only good thing was the pool service person. They did their job. We paid a lot of money to stay here but will never make that mistake again. If the people that own this house are paying someone to maintain it and keep it up they are getting ripped off. If the people who own this house are the ones doing the maintenance they should be ashamed of renting this to anyone. It is awful and I will never stay here again.
