Sadly, Shore Details went out of business a few years back and existing reservations went to Brindley Beach. The first time all went well, we stayed at Surround Sound and the property was beautifully maintained. This past week we've been staying at End of the Rainbow. After reading all the terrible reviews I feel we got very lucky as the house and property are well maintained. The pool has not been cleaned at all this week and it's too dirty to swim in. I informed the rental agency and never heard back. I miss Pam and Shawna from Shore Details. They immediately addressed any and all issues. read more

They didn't text or call me-just an email asking for more money citing the Errors clause. Completely unethical. We cancelled and rebooked with another company for less and a better stay I'm sure. We rented a house at 808 Lighthouse Drive in Corolla, NC from Brindley Beach. We found the rental property to not be in a fit and habitable condition, which was a requirement of the lease. We have expressed our concerns on numerous occasions (during our stay and after our stay), and the issues were not addressed. They will also not provide a refund. Issues included: black mold in several areas, two broken refrigerators, one inoperable hot tub, one inoperable dishwasher, a leaking HVAC unit that caused a major leak, water pooling in a dryer, inoperable security door allowing entrance to the unit, and decking that was in such disrepair that several guests were injured due to nails and splinters. Only one refrigerator was replaced while we were there with a new unit without an operable ice machine. The security door was also addressed by them. Rented Whisper of the Waves in Corolla NC in August 2025 for $$$$$$. Disappointing stay. Upon check-in, house was not in the cleanest state, but we were willing to let that slide. We reported a broken sink basin and leaking pipes which Maintenance came to check on and then deemed it unusable. It had been this way for a long time as the wood below was damaged and moldy black. Despite multiple follow-ups initiated by us, we spent our week long vacation without resolution. Not the way you want to spend your time on vacation for something that should have been maintained and checked prior to renting. The property management is the poorest I've seen after renting through different companies for many years in Corolla. They deemed the unusable sink as a minor defect. Despite the inconvenience of sharing 2 bathrooms (vs. the advertised 3) we tried to enjoy the stay. Upon check-out, we found a moldy opened container of cat food under our son's bed! Appalling. Makes you question the quality of housekeeping. Additionally, they admitted in writing that they do not post all reviews on their website. I should have known when I didn't see any reviews for 2025. Lesson learned - Would not recommend renting through Brindley Beach! Spend your money on a company that actually shows they care and accept customer feedback. Their behavior after you've paid is that they really DO NOT care about your experience. Only positive is home is in a good location and is a short walk to public beach access. read more

3 families (14 total people) rented a home in Waves, NC. We were told check in was at 16:00. It was a sweltering day, 100 deg and humid, hotter in the sun. We arrived to the house at 16:15 and the cleaning staff was still there. They let us begin unloading the cars and bring things into the foyer while they continued cleaning. They left at 16:45, the floor were still wet. We continued to unload and unpack. we all got to our rooms, luggage and bags on the floors and started filling drawers. We soon discovered mouse droppings and dirt inside the drawers of everything. Shower curtains had mold on them. We tried to rinse the tubs but the showers were all clogged and didnt drain. The pool was cloudy and full of sand. The pool service showed up at 17:00, brushed the walls, vacuumed and shocked the pool, guess no swimming today! Not a great first impression. BUT now comes the great part. As we unpacked, filled the fridge and started to relax, a large sweaty gentleman showed up and let himself into the house. He looked like a character in Ghost Busters, back pack sprayer and all. He started spraying ( I should say hosing) down all the walls and floors with pestiside, inside the house with all our belongings on the floor. The home started to smell toxic and a few of my people with asthma had to leave the house. He told me it was safe and it would take about 45 minutes to dry. We had to open every window and door in the house to air it out. In the rush to get outside and move our things and food we were all stepping in pesticide and tracking it into the carpets and all over the floors. so here we are, standing outside our $15,000 a week rental in sweltering heat and all the windows open. Brindleys solution was to send a woman with a roll of paper towels and windex to "wipe up" the floors. After an hour or so, we reentered the house, closed all the openings and cranked the AC, no lower tha 72 because the AC freezes we were told. I noticed dust blowing all around the return to the AC so I had to remove the intake cover and filthy clogged filter and replace it. I also hosed off the cover. Once we all stopped being angry we decided to start the grill to cook dinner. It was filled with flies, old food, rotten grease and rusted out grates. We tride to start it to burn off the dirt and crud but guess what, the dials were all stripped so we had to pull them off and luckily use my leatherman pliers to turn the gas on. We were also smart enough to have brought a grill lighter to get is going since the igniter was rotted out. I cleaned the grill and got it working as best possible since I had a home full of hungry angry folks. One of the other people in our party called Brindley again and they sent someone over to tell us he would get us a new grill the following day. They replaced it with another identical piece of crap grill, but it worked. This was all our first day after driving 12 hours. We actually settled down and the following days were great until our dryer broke and we were told it needed parts and we couldnt use it. You would think for 15 grand you would run and buy us a new dryer! its very obvious this vacation rental company is reactionary and not proactive. They responded when called and did send people out when necessary, but i would never rent a home fron them again. They just dont care. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. read more

I rented a cottage with an elevator from Brindley Beach rentals planning to go on vacation in August 2025. The elevator was necessary for my husband who was confined to a wheelchair. In March 2025 my husband entered hospice, he passed away on June 24, 2025. I started asking for my money back was told I should have purchased travel insurance and that the owner would not consider a refund. This was an exceptional reason for requesting my money returned. Inconsiderate Property Owner for Unit 606, Shore Leave We planned on coming here as a family vacation months ago. Unfortunately, the week we were scheduled to come, Hurricane Helene came through and devastated our home town. I understand the gravity of this event and hope that this review does not minimize anyone's horrible experience through this event. We reached out to the resort the day before our reservation (As early as we could due to the fact that we had no power, limited cell service, and many more pressing matters to attend to) to request a refund for the trip. We had not purchased the vacation insurance several months ago, but the resort staff was very helpful and said that the ultimate decision was left up to the property owner due to our unique circumstances. The resort reached out to the property owner and explained our situation and the sudden reason that we were unable to come. However, even after hearing that we were unable to come due to the hurricane that ravaged our home town and so many others, the property owner still refused to allow us to be refunded our prepaid trip. This was devastating news since we were not only losing out on our vacation, but also money that we now need to help recover from the damages caused by the storm. It seems to me that the staff at the resort handled the situation as well as they could, but the actions of the owners of unit 606 reflect very poorly on how they will handle and interact with renters in the future. We will surely not be spending anymore time or money here again and we hope all the others affected by this storm remain safe! read more

We rented Sounds Amazing in Corolla the 1st week of September of 2025. This place has not been maintained! The outside of the home (and yard) were very dirty, and the grass had not been cut. There were cobwebs and dead bugs everywhere -inside and outside. You could look up at the ceiling in many places and see spiders and other bugs walking around.The kitchen table had food on it, so, it had not been wiped down. Many of the dishes looked dirty, and there were many kitchen things not available. There were no large serving spoons and no cutting boards, and the pans were in very poor condition. The beds were poorly made and made us wonder if the bedding had been exchanged. There was sand all over many of the chair and sofa cushions, and everything just felt dirty! We paid extra for a heated pool, and the heater did not work; and since the pool got no direct sun, it was way too cold to get in it at all. This place is awful, and I would never recommend it to anyone. read more

We checked into our rental on a Sunday, hadn't been there maybe an hour before a second floor bedroom started flooding from ceiling light fixture. A tech was sent and we were told it was from the washing machine on the 3rd floor. The machine was decommissioned until someone could come look at it. The next day, techs arrived and determined a new washer was needed and a thorough drying of the room was required. Tuesday and the techs arrived again to check the status of the drying room and found the ac in that room was not functioning. More and more techs sent and more and more work orders written all the while we had one room that couldn't be occupied by our guests that paid for it and another that was having to share a room that they paid for. By Wednesday they finally got everything straight and removed all their drying equipment and was able to fix the ac issue. The washing machine was never able to be utilized our entire stay. The cleanliness of the home was also atrocious. We had to call to have them come mop because our feet were black when walking on the floors, mopping didn't resolve the situation, it's obvious this homes floors hadn't been properly cleaned in months if not years After all this, l called and emailed the office, understanding that things happen but now we had people out rooms for days that they paid for along with non functioning appliances for our entire stay, and I was told (after 3 days of contacting them) that the owner agreed to refund $300. That's $150 per guest for rooms that were lost for 3 days that paid $1200 for the week for their rooms. This was my first and last stay with Brindley Beach Vacations. read more

Happy Hours 4x4 was by far the worst beach house experience we've ever had. I was ready to leave the second we arrived but was forced to stick it out. Upon arrival, we noticed that the rugs/carpets in several rooms smelled of dog urine. There was dog hair all over the inside sheets of a freshly made bed. We found human hair stuck to the wall of a shower. There were dirty dishes in the cabinets and the dishwashers were full. We had to take out several bags of trash that were left behind on the decks. Grass/weeds were completely overgrown in the pool area (almost inside the pool). Over the course of the next few days, we spotted four mice running around on different floors of the house. The biggest issue: the running water in the house. It smelled absolutely horrible. At first we played it off as us not being used to well water. But, no matter how much we ran the water or the temperature - the sulfur smell was completely unbearable. It would stink up entire rooms. It was a greenish/yellowish color. We finally noticed that the filters/jets weren't running in the pool. Stagnate water. Some of us poked around and searched for the pump and stumbled across the filtration system for the house. It was OFF and the filter was COMPLETELY clogged. The pool pump was OFF and we couldn't find a switch. Please do yourself a favor and research unfiltered well water. It is a freaking HEALTH HAZARD. From that point we were buying gallons of water to clean ourselves/cook with. We called Brindley Beach and notified them of everything going on. The woman on the phone laughed it off (truly wish I could remember her name) and said that the mice were trying to get out of the rain. Are you kidding me? She had no response to the water issue. Simply reminded us that it's well water and that their offices closed at 5pm and it wasn't likely that someone would be out that day to check things out. No one showed up the next day either - so we packed our things and left the beach early. When returning our parking passes, my husband spoke to someone in person at the Brindley Beach office. The gentleman wrote down a few notes and likely trashed the piece of paper based on his demeanor. For the amount of money that we have to pay, this is ridiculous. It's clearly lining the pockets of Brindley Beach management instead of upkeep/decent cleaning services. Do they not realize that some families get ONE vacation per year? Not everyone has the luxury of going to the beach whenever they please. People trust and rely on these companies to ensure houses are in working order and clean so that they can actually enjoy their vacation. If they can't even keep up their end of the business, they shouldn't even be allowed to have the opportunity of renting vacation homes anymore. do not rent anything from brindley beach rentals; mine was called cutty sark at 607 wave arch rd, corolla, nc. only give lip service but do not care about maintenance or important issues like taking care of the customer and the customer experience. once they have your money you can forget about customer care or even taking care of the properties they rent out in north carolina. elevator wnet out day after i arrived. i have elderly parents who absolutely need an elevator to get around. brindley beach sends a generic handyman who has no knowledge of fixing an elevator! cannot fix it and elevator out of service for remainder of week. also house is in poor shape with dirty carpets, smelly grill, moldy jacuzzi in room, not working faucet in basement or ice machine on first floor, no garbage disposal, very dirty driveway and washing area for sand removal of feet, broken fence and exposed nails. read more

we recently rented a home in Corolla called Mango Manor through VRBO and over seen by Brindley Beach vacations. The home was in disrepair upon arrival. Stained carpets, dead bugs over flowing windowsills and corner, black mold by shower and front door and bathroom floor, walls and ceilings stained, can blades covered in black dust, windows you could barely see out of, stools stained, hospital grade bedding, screen door off hinges, outdoor furniture that was so dirty we had to clean ourselves just to sit, this is just to name a few things. Brindley Beach - A GREAT PLACE - NOT so GREAT!!! We rented an oceanfront home for over $5,000 in the off season. The home was large, oceanfront with private pool and hot tub. Also advertised as part of the "sparkle club" which we later found out this means you can enter bottom level early - not that it has any affect on the "cleanliness " of the home. The home - "A Great Place" was disgustingly filthy, inside and out! I will say, there was a tropical storm a few days before our arrival, and high winds the day of, but no flooding and we traveled 5 hours to Duck, NC with no issues. No flooding in Duck. The home was in horrible condition: door handles broken, bed quilts dirty (stained with blood and who knows what), furniture torn, stained), outdoor decking and gates broken, tons of flies due to doors not being closed, one bedroom smelled heavily of urine, and obvious black mold above pool table and near some vents. The list goes on. The pool was filled with sand from the "storm", the outdoor poolside bar was a Complete joke - the kegerator has not worked in years, the bar stools Are coming apart (not official outdoor furniture), the hot tub had not been cleaned and we spent hours (literally) cleaning just to try and feel comfortable. There were bathrooms with no toilet paper (not a big deal, but the "sparkle club" must have forgotten there were 7 bathrooms! Brindley Beach blamed the "storm" for the almost 3 day delay in cleaning the pool and hot tub and one rep literally hung up on me when I tried to understand what "sparkle club" really meant. Contacted the homeowner directly and someone came to clean the carpet in the room smelling of urine, but it was still unusable. The pictures of the home must have been taken years ago- the comfortable movie theater chairs were removed and old fashioned hard chairs were substituted (not as pictures showed. Don't be fooled on this one - huge disappointment as we expected a home in much better condition based on written description and pictures. Homeowner wasn't phased when I sent picture of blood stained quilt!! Absolutely unsanitary! I forgot to mention, this is a house that allows dogs and the carpets were filthy, stained and smelled! We were not comfortable walking on carpet without shoes. The sheets from previous stay sat in the trash area in a garbage bag the entire week we were there and no one came a second time to test the pool water or hot tub chemicals! Not sure how they get away with this, but I will do my best to NOT recommend this house or any other rental through Brindley Beach based on our experience and their lack of concern. Someone should be held accountable - they represent the homeowner. My recommendation to Brindley Beach (like any good real estate company should do) - KNOW what you're renting!! Be up front about the condition of the home and price appropriately. read more

We came back for a second time and contrary to my first review, this time was much cleaner! I really appreciate the included beach chairs! There were a few scratches on the toilet seat and the fridge/ other appliances had some dirt, grease, and oil on them but nothing that some Lysol can't fix. I wish we didn't have to use it ourselves but not too much of an inconvenience. Beds nicely made, no dirt or sand. We have a gorgeous outlook onto the Sound and have seen some gorgeous sunsets. (We are on Jay Crest/ recommend!!) Cleaning services and customer services could be kinder but good value for a 4 bedroom 3 bathroom lakeside condo. 8.5/10 recommend! We have been to Corolla four years with various rental companies, Brindley Beach was by far the worst I have ever seen! We drove up to the house and immediately noticed the outside was COVERED with dead bugs and webs, obviously the outside has not been cleaned in way to long! We go inside and there are webs inside the house, mold around the ac vent in main bathroom, mold on shower curtains, coffee and ketchup spills around the dining area and stairs. Then we go into the master bedroom upstairs, the blanket looks like someone either had their period or was knifed in bed, see pics! We informed BB and they responded "would you like us to do something about it" in my mind the response should have been we will have someone there in a couple minutes! WL-1940 located at 940 lighthouse road in whalehead beach, Corolla, NC. Everything is filthy or broken or missing. Only source of shade on the pool deck, the umbrella over the table, is broken to pieces. The toilet paper holder in the queen bedroom on the middle floor keeps falling off whenever it's used. The middle floor Queen room sink is clogged. The sheets are the wrong size and don't fit the king beds. When the fridge door is closed, the freezer door pops open. Lost a lot of food. Huge concrete rise in the driveway his bottom of the car HARD every time. Blinds in the dining room not are inoperable. Freezer shelf missing. Greatly reduces storage capacity. Light above the sink on the middle floor is out. Enormous ancient dead TV was not in photos online that needs to be removed. Only 4 dining room chairs. Laundry closet doors broken exposing walls covered with thick layer of filthy dust. Curtain hooks missing in one of the queen rooms. Analog clock in upstairs living room dead. Toaster filthy full of crumbs. Silverware and food trash stuck behind kitchen shelving unit. Kitchen overhead light out. Hand towel rack in pool level powder room is broken. I would not use Brindley beach ever again. The pictures that they used on their website were not indicative of the house condition when we rented it and were pictures that were probably 20-30 years old when the house was either new or had been remodeled, the house was in poor shape. Everybody has their rental horror stories in OBX; but I specifically chose to rent from Brindley after a good experience last year. This year we got CP8 - Moore Fun Less Work. This was a 6BR/2-Master/3BA house. My 8 had plenty of space to spread out and either be together or hide away from each other. It was exactly as advertised. Ocean block/7th row about 400' from the beach access. Less than one mile from Food Lion (24-hour) and about 3mi. from Harris Teeter (and Duck Doughnuts). Kitchen was good - plenty of cookware (I cooked full meals 2 nights and grilled once), silverware, glasses, etc., also had all appliances we needed. The extra full-size fridge on the bottom level was much appreciated. The mini-fridge on the 2nd level was a little persnickety, but we got it working with a little persuasion - the thermostat knob is loose - I suspect that's the issue. Only negatives (if you would even call them that) was the pool was a little smaller than I thought (although the pool area was very good), the beds are very firm - so if this isn't your liking this could be a negative. I'd've liked a half-bath on the kitchen level and the trex decking is awesome - but without any sub-decking you can't be outside anywhere if it's raining. All-in-all I would recommend this house without reservation. As for Brindley, whoever they use for cleaning did a very good job (the house was very clean - but don't forget your extra paper products - not all the bathrooms had even a roll of toilet paper or soap). Communication was very good throughout, and they allowed entry for us after 1300 whenever the cleaners were finished. Another plus for going direct with Brindley was no extraneous AirBnB or VBRO charges. I'm not specifically looking to rent this house again for next year (although I wouldn't hesitate to do so or recommend it to anybody else), but I do plan to rent from Brindley again and will probably do so unless they give me some reason not to. I would like to take this opportunity to discuss our experience renting Treasure Island in Corolla this past week. July 29th to August 6th. We rented this home three years ago and had a wonderful experience so when the same three families were available, we jumped at the opportunity to rent this home once again. Upon arrival we immediately noticed the house was completely different from the outside. Landscaping was not kept up, house needed to be painted, rust, dirty front steps, cobwebs everywhere.... We found a gross baby seat, dirty cooler filled with water and dirty kids' toys all in the driveway. My family immediately thought something was quite different. However, my husband said houses take a hit when they are near the ocean, so we kept that in mind. We enter the house and immediately smell cat or dog urine. It was absolutely disgusting. Three years ago (mind you the house was even cheaper then) the house was immaculate. We walked into a basket with fruit and a bottle of wine. A book with all the previous renters and their wonderful experiences. There was no wine - there was no book with wonderful reviews and memories and now I know why. We googled the property and realized it was sold pretty much right after we rented. The bathrooms were dirty, showers filled with mold and the sink to my bathroom was not draining at all. The kitchen was filthy. The refrigerator was gross and dirty, and the one downstairs smelled like rotten eggs. The kitchen had no spray cleaner - one dirty dish rag. The interior of both dishwashers was broken so glasses/pots/pans couldn't lay correctly. None of the pots had tops that fit. The stove top took twenty minutes to boil water. The utensil drawers were filled with crumbs and dirt. The frying pans were all torn up from someone using metal on the Teflon so we couldn't use those because they are toxic - FYI Should be thrown away immediately. The one big pot was burned so badly that black soot was on the bottom and couldn't be used. The bottom cabinets were all dirty - I could go on and on. Upon arrival the pool and hot tub were dirty (came to clean the second day) the landscaping was a mess, the outside kitchen was so dirty, the refrigerator was not working and smelled like eggs. All the patio furniture was filthy - can you imagine we went to the store and bought a swifter and cleaning supplies to clean them all off. My husband called Brindley and I have to say you sent a lovely young lady who agreed that the house smelled like urine. She used a mop and bleached the floors. Took all our bedding off (also took both of my pillowcases from home) and left us with a bag of sheets and old, non-matching covers all with black marker with writing/labels on them. Felt like something you would see in prison. And the best is - we all had to make our own beds now with linens that were left in these bags! So, on our first day we cleaned and did housework. She also agreed the backyard was a mess and tried to clean the outside kitchen that was still so gross, so we didn't use the refrigerator ever. Went inside every time from the pool. She took out and showed my husband the huge chunk of hair that came from our bathroom sink so at least we had water that drained now. She, again, was very lovely and we tipped her. The house said it came with "chairs and umbrella" that would be "set up daily", which we had the last time we rented. There were old chairs in the basement that the man from Brindley found for us - that was it. No service, just old chairs and no umbrella. To say we were disappointed is an understatement. This is the seventh year we have rented a house in OBX with you. We have had new houses and old houses. This was the grossest house we have ever been in. The couch was stained, the floors and carpets are dirty - I would never walk with bare feet. We couldn't wait to leave and ate our three times because the kitchen was so inefficient and dirty. We usually love to cook! I sent an email to Mr. Brindley and he basically said thanks for letting me know. No compensation for the false advertising - be aware of the pictures on their website! No compensation for the false advertising of beach set up. No compensation for the first day spent cleaning or the smell of urine all week. Very disappointed that Brindley didn't take any responsibility for the house they represent. Shame on you Mr. Brindley! read more

We paid for early check-in, the house was not ready, they could not give me any information about when the house would be ready. Then I my refund for the early check-in was not processed. From July 16-23, 2023, we rented a privately owned house from Brindley Beach Rentals in Corolla, NC! We paid $6,00 for the week, and I cannot begin to tell you how disappointed my husband and I were with the property! It did not look anything like the photos they we saw! The house was very outdated and dirty! There were tons of steps they forgot to tell us about, also! It had a bad smell to it, especially on the comforter in the room we slept on. We called as soon as we got in the house, both of us, and complained to Brindley via phones and we also both sent an e-mail to the company! Do you think we even got an apology??? They told us they could not do anything for us because this was the only house that was owned by the person we rented from! We also told them the umbrella at the pool was broken, and it ended up my husband fixed it! The yard for our dog was not cleaned up, and the outdoor shower was so disgusting! The pool area was terrible, and the pool was never cleaned during the week! There were boards on the fence that were broken, and there was not a single float or raft in this area! The kitchen area was so bad, and some of the pots and pans had holes in the bottom of them, so could not even be used. As a matter of fact, we left a day early so we did not have to tolerate the mess any longer. We rented a pet friendly house" Windover" with a fenced yard because we bring our small dog. Upon arrival on Saturday we found the grass a foot tall and a large amount of big dog feces all over the yard. We complained immediately upon check in. We were told a work order was created and the dog feces would be picked up. The grass was cut on Tuesday but dog feces never picked. The cleanliness of the unit was poor at best. There are multiple tvs with roku devices but none of the remote controls had batteries in them.I won't be using Brindley beach again. read more

DO NOT RENT from Brindley Beach! We rented Carolina on my Mind in July 2021 and this house is not at all as advertised. When we arrived there were bugs covering the inside and outside of the house. The kitchen and bathrooms were extremely dirty (moldy) and trash was everywhere. It looks as though the outside has never been power washed as it is covered with dead and live bugs. The toilets and showers were black and there was mold, hair, and bugs everywhere. We had to clean the home ourselves upon arrival, and while we were doing so, we found a dead squirrel and a dirty pair of women's underwear. The outdoor bar area was full of mold and unusable. The refrigerators were not only full of mold, but they did not work and they smelled horrible. Cobwebs covered the outdoor decks, as well as the light fixtures and windows inside the house. The outdoor showers were unusable and the pool/hot tub were filthy. The decks/patios were covered in bugs and the wood was falling apart. This is the most poorly kept home I have seen in OBX, and my family did not feel safe here. Brindley Beach did not even come out to look at our concerns with this home. House we rented was great. Maintenance not so much. Hot tub was supposed to be cleaned upon arrival but had bubbly brown soap scum in it when we first arrived. Shower curtains were mildewed in several bathrooms of our 8 br house (that's housekeeping, not the property owners fault). Several bathrooms had showers that's didn't drain. We had no TP upon arrival. Called property management who said they'd get over as soon as possible but could not guarantee time (it was over 24 hours & only the hot tub was sorted out). Just a couple of things could have made for a totally different first impression. The house was large, spacious & as described, with a great location. I believe this is the largest property rental agency on the OBX. Clearly they're affected by labor shortage, like the rest of the US. read more

Check in for the main floor was 12:30 pm with the rest of the house being ready by 4:30pm. We arrived about 2:30pm and the whole place was filthy, top to bottom filthy, right down to a prophylactic hanging on a shower curtain rod. We called Brindley Beach and complained, as we had eight children between 7 years old and 3 months old and a 71 year old suffering from Alzheimer's. We couldn't unpack or anything. Brindley Beach were going to rush a cleaning crew out to take care of it. 3 cleaners showed up around 4:30pm and by 6:30pm they were gone! Covid19 deep cleaning and all? Brindley Beach offered us nothing beyond a profuse apology and an email to housekeeping! Never again read more

Terrible experience in August 2022 that involved many broken items/appliances, undisclosed issues with the house, poor communication, and a week's worth of wasted annual leave.... 8/26/2016. One star for answering the phone. The house on Cruz Bay Lane in Corolla NC had all the amenities. The website pictures were accurate. The disappointment, - the cleanliness was minimal (no, there was no hair in the sink, but were cobwebs, as if house has been empty). House must have been either vacant all summer OR no prior complaints were taken care of either. So, we cleaned it ourselves, except the exterior windows/bugs/ AND Spiders!, as we didn't have power sprayer. Oh, but there's more. On Day 2 we still had no WiFi. Service tech arrived promptly and was SO kind, but no success until day 3 - then the speed was SO POOR we couldn't use our Apple TV. That is the service provider selected by either the owner or rental management. We are unhappy. Sorry Brindley, no return customer here. An OBX renter for 20+ years. read more

We rented Casa De Los Ninos. The house is beautiful, the view spectacular; but the grounds and the pool area - completely and utterly disgusting and filthy. I do not understand how someone can own a 2.5 million dollar home and not maintain the exterior. Every window and entrance way had dead bugs and mold and mildew plastered to the exterior. It was obvious that the area had not been cleaned in awhile. Every exterior light fixture, every railing, every screen was filthy. We did not sit or use the outdoor furniture near the pool (it was to gross and dirty). Spider infestation outside, spider webs covered all of the deck railings. Not a good place for small children to be putting their little hands everywhere. We also had ants in the kitchen. W I know its the end of the season, but we did spend $8,000 to rent this home for one week. This home needs a serious power washing along with pest control. We complained. Housekeeping did send crews out to try to get some of the spiders out of the hard to reach areas inside. We were told that the owner had to approve the power washing. Someone did spray for bugs on Wednesday, but we had to evacuate that same day due to hurricane Dorian. Hopefully the exterior of the home will get the washing it needs. We actually tried to clean it ourselves with a hose, but that did very little. We looked at other homes from other rental companies and the exteriors were well maintained and clean. I saw similar reviews with Brindley, never will rent from the again. read more

Stars & Stripes, PI94 The location is perfect (Pine Island). We enjoyed early access to the home (or so we thought; Sparkle Club) and the size of the pool is great (larger than most of the 16' x 30' standard). We also took advantage of the free photo session and the $250 credit toward beach equipment and were happy with both. That's where our compliments end. This home needs a lot of work. We think "Sparkle Club" (early access) means the home is not well cleaned. The exterior of the home is filthy - LOTS and LOTS of spider webs and other bugs. We've been coming for 10+ years to OBX and understand gnats, spiders, etc - but this is months and months of cobwebs and dead bugs. It needs to at least be power washed - on all levels. You can't enjoy the decks - not only because of the lack of cleanliness (can't even throw a towel over the deck railing to dry!) but because there is little to no deck furniture - on any levels or the pool deck. What chairs are there are very few, old, plastic, and dirty. The two gas grills are filthy and do not get hotter than 200-250 degrees. It's impossible to cook food on them. You cannot make any adjustments to the home's gas tank to see if that's the problem. On the inside, the carpet tacking on the top level in the main living area, along the edges, was poorly done. If you don't have shoes on, you will get poked with nails. The kitchen is not well stocked nor well organized. The dishwashers run, but don't clean well (even if we rinse - almost clean - plates). The water pressure in the showers is weak. Some of the window treatments needs to be replaced/updated (dirty, not hung well, etc). At least two lampshades (one in the top level master bedroom and 1 bedroom on the mid level) need to be replaced (dirty/mold; no fixture to attach it to lamp, it rests directly on bulb creating fire hazard). The sliding glass door on the lower level to the pool cannot be locked. Rental company was not responsive to our request to have the exterior of the house assessed and/or cleaned. Followed the same MO as others have mentioned - answer on the X ring, say they put in a ticket, get off phone as quickly as possible. Repeat. This management company is terrible. Our rental was poorly cleaned. There was a half full beer can left in the shower that my child found. Water bottles were left all over the floor. The microwave broke on the second day and when I called the manager she said hopefully someone will be out in a few days. No one ever came. We had no microwave the rest of the week. Our unit was not cleaned prior to our arrival, however we arrived after the office had closed. We spent two hours cleaning the unit. I left a message but didn't receive a call back until the next day. I was told I should have called the emergency number,but there message said to use that number for only true emergencies. Brindley needs to learn the definition of an emergency. Very frustrating to have to clean after a long drive. The unit needs painted and a deep clean. Slider door to deck is broken. Caberet II (May 2020)- Half electrical receptacles do not work, no screens on 3rd floor windows or half of 2nd, no water for outside showers, the 'stocked kitchen' is a joke, beds are horrible, we had half our linens only, part of the lights did not work, part of the TV did not work, TV and couch on 1st floor are no longer present as per advert, door screens are torn.. With the entire upper level windows, I expected to be able to open them to enjoy the ocean air- wrong. Reached out to company via phone and email, no reply. Went to the office, was able to pick up half the linens with promises to have someone out immediately. That was Tuesday, but Saturday, still no one. We were promised a portrait session as well, which also never came to fruition. Unsure who dropped the ball there. Everyone in the office was exceptionally condescending, rude and arrogant, as if they could not be bothered. I would NOT recommend using this company ever again. Side note: member of my party needed to leave their non 4x4 and be shuttled to house, it was towed ($300) and when asked, Brindley will not allow you to park on their lot overnight. And if stuck on dunes, to pull car out is $225. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. 1 star for new crew. I have been a frequent client of brindley beach and never had these many problems and a rundown, filthy house when I arrived. Let's start with when we arrived there was sand on the floors of every room, the f were sticky and dirty with hair everywhere. The pool never got warmer than 76 except for one day after my multiple complaints finally the maintenance man came out and adjusted the pool to 82. Hmmm I was told and given a robotic answer that the pool will not go over 10 degrees ambient heat, yet when it was 65 the pool guy was able to manually turn it to 83???? So I paid $750.00 for a cold pool all week. Meanwhile next door, the pools were 87 the whole week. Let's continue to the stains all over the dining room chairs when we arrived, so they had someone come out with a huge hose and inconvenience us for that day with loud sounds for hours. The stains looked like they had been there for a long long time so the concerns were not addressed previously and the owners DO NOT CARE or check their house! The appliances don't work( the mixer is broken and the ice makers along with the freezer that makes lce were not working and producing ice when we arrived. I had to complain multiple times. There were no screens on any of the windows. Some of the beds did not even have fitted sheets, only the top sheet. No effort or care put in. I did have the second batch of cleaners come out and they were great but I asked, did you clean this house previously and they said no, it was another crew. They were very accommodating and I felt bad they came in and basically cleaned for a crew that didn't show up. I felt I kept composing for previous things that no one took care of. Ok so the best part was the ROACHES. Not one roach but I counted 6 roaches running around lively as could be in multiple rooms. They carry diseases!!!!!!I was told when I complained that I should have addressed this to them and that the owner has a pest control company come out. So what was the solution? Fumigate and stay out of a house we want to enjoy and get sick on fumes??? If they have pest control I will be shocked bc the house was infested. If they were dead then I may find dead roaches but this is another apparent lack of care of the home. I was told that bugs are a normal thing by the beach and that there is nothing the company would do!?!?!!!! I said they carry DISEASES!!!!??? Apparently that means nothing. I was patient and only asked for a cleaning deposit returned. They should have offered some compensation somewhere. She responded by saying that we took the money out of first cleaners and gave it to the second crew. Bathrooms did not come with bath mats so a bunch of us taking showers almost broke our necks, so I went out and bought everyone bath mats. ON MY DIME! What a liability and owners fault. I was told they don't do this and could only provide towels on outside for stepping out of shower . Um if we pay all this money don't you think someone should provide non slip bath mats. That is a lawsuit waiting to happen. Also when there were multiple beds that had coffee stains and skid marks on the sheets at the end of the bed. The sheets were itchy and seeing as everything was filthy, I come to the conclusion that the house was NOT CLEANED FROM BEGINNING. Probable didn't even wash the sheets since we got up every morning itchy. Why are we paying a cleaning fee up front of it isn't clean. It doesn't matter if previous guests trash house before us. We should be compensated not pacified for a job that SOMEONE ELSE SHOULD BE DOING! The amount of time I spent having to do all this coordination with cleaners and vendors made the trip HELL. I had to pacify everyone in the home that were upset. So you blame them if they don't wanna sleep with disease ridden roaches???I even sent the picture of the roach in our room.
