I visited CoRo for the first time today and the staff greeted me as soon as I walked in the door and made me feel like I was a favorite returning customer. I ordered their house made chai and cozy belly tea. Both were delicious and comforting. I'm so happy to have discovered this place and I will be returning. read more

i've never left a yelp review. this scene is oh but new to me. but for coro i write: coro, oh coro. thank you for satisfying my bev needs, with eloquence and grace. i go in everytime with a capp on my mind and yet -- your seasonals reign me right in. i can get a capp anywhere. but where else can i get purple pluot magic in my matcha? the grapefruit in the tonic, the garden within the rose latte, the beautifully toasty hojicha. vanilla latte remains a classic. basic is not a word for me. if it's good, why be a hater? coro is not a place where your "yum" will be "yucked". maybe even the opposite. your yuck will be yummed. (just food for thought). and on my days where i wish for nothing but a black americano, never fret about the tasting notes. that shit is dialed in. your bevs save me from my fruitless job search, housemate drama, and internal "woe is me" days. it's on the days where i fear rent is due, paying $30 for mid produce, while balancing two minimum wage jobs that i allow myself the gift of a coro bev. coro. your capps are my favorite. universally, your milk ratio is hard as fuck. and your baristas are kind little coffee goblins. made of magic. u rock. thank u coro. read more

Definitely understaffed. Had 2 baristas/cashiers. Line was super long, waited close to 20 min before I could even order. Appreciate they have a seasonal menu though and the space is cute. They also got my order wrong, but were able to correct it quickly. The coffee was good but given the wait, I wouldn't go back again. read more

Good coffee but hasn't been worth the long line, crowdedness, and no seating. Too many people using the place as an office. My greatest pet peeve for good coffee shops!! read more

CoRo = Coffee Room (Just like other abbreviations such as SoMa, NoPa, SoHo, WeHo... it took me awhile to figure it out) CoRo is so Berkeley. It's a collaborative coffee roasting facility showcasing a rotating menu of coffee brands, along with food pairings from local bakeries, all in a hip backdrop that combines minimalist interior decor with a hint of nostalgic classroom vibes. It feels very conscientious and inclusive, with contactless payment, no-print receipts, gender-neutral restrooms, and prominent sign kindly requesting the use of 'they' pronouns. The menu includes coffee drink staples, as well as a secret menu of seasonal specialties, fancier drip coffee, and a pastry display case. Their menu is almost too minimalist; it doesn't display the pricing for milk substitute, and I didn't find out about the subtle secret menu until after my visit. The pastry selection looks so enticing, but everything is priced at $5-6 (even the plain croissant). I got a latte and a vegetable quiche, and it was a satisfying and very photogenic breakfast. The latte was well crafted (bonus for the latte art!) and the quiche was fresh and fluffy. I loved the aesthetics with the presentation on the bamboo tray. It matches the warm tones and ample natural lighting of the gorgeous space. CoRo is located in a more quiet part of Berkeley, and it doesn't quite seem like a place where someone would try to steal your laptop and make a run for it. Other notes: - Easy street parking - There's wifi but it didn't work for me - They check your vaccination status for indoor dining. I applaud their measures and efforts to ensure safety! read more

I love this place . There is no better latte in the east bay. Baristas and staff all kick ass.

We've been here several times and have always had a delightful experience. The service was great, the vibes were chill, and the location offered ample parking. They even go the extra mile by warming up pastries upon request. I loved the welcoming atmosphere and the fact that this cafe is dog-friendly. It's a must-visit spot for coffee lovers seeking a friendly and relaxed environment. read more

CoRo, is located in Berkeley. There is street parking. Can get quite busy during the busy morning. Ambiance is bright light, plenty of tables and chairs. There is open space to look at the coffee production. read more

A great, small coffee place with a view of their beans being roasted and free wifi. Their daily quiches are fire and their coffee is delicious. They have a parking lot for 1 hr parking or street parking. Very Berkeley with the nonbinary staff and a sign that tells you to use the pronouns they/their unless specified otherwise. They don't have a lot of outlets so come fully charged so you can sit anywhere. Everyone here is super friendly and their music is very diverse and not too loud. One of the few coffee shops I know that sell great coffee and delicious snacks. read more

A pretty good place to work- just put on headphones if you don't like the whole background cafe bustling sounds. All seats are pretty comfortable and was able to find a seat even around noon/1pm. Coffee and snacks are pretty pricey- $7 for a coffee and pastry but everyone was super nice, lighting was great & environment was great. I'd still probably go again :) read more

Late review My wife and I came here for coffee and a light breakfast before we were going to foodie land. The place is tucked away in a small industrial area where parking is usually found around the street. Parking is fairly easy to find as well as there's plenty of street parking and not really any meters. The staff were very friendly and made the ordering experience very smooth. Also, just as a heads up to any prospective goers, they do check for proof of vaccination and adhere to health guidelines which I thought was great. My wife and I got lattes and shared a veggie quiche that got our morning to a great start. The coffee shop overall provides a relaxing atmosphere where people can come hang out and study. Overall, my experience here was pleasant and if we're ever around the area again, we would definitely be willing to come back and have another cup of coffee! read more

This is unquestionably the best iced oat milk latte I've ever had. The espresso was perfect - balanced acidity with nutty, roasted flavors, and not burnt to a crisp and super bitter like the chain places. The cafe itself is attached to the roastery and when they're roasting, you can smell the wonderful roasty aromas a couple blocks away. There's plenty of outdoor seating adjacent the cafe on the sidewalk and a good amount of indoor seating (~10 tables?). The staff were also super friendly and efficient! If you find yourself in West Berkeley, you won't be disappointed with the coffee here. I'd say it's worth a trip no matter where you are in Berkeley tbh! read more

Great coffee and a great study spot as well. There is such a wide variety of coffee to choose from and you really can taste the quality of the beans. Each drink is made with care and attention to the flavor. The staff here are very friendly as well! They also sell whole beans here that are locally roasted. Although it is slightly on the more expensive end, the beans are definitely worth it. They have a strong flavor profile and taste fresh. I've come here a few times for coffee and to study and I will definitely be back.r read more

Excellent neighborhood coffee spot. The people are super nice, and both efficient and patient. We went during a slow time (Friday afternoon) and one of the shop guys indulged my friend in explaining several ways of brewing coffee, the differences, and even offered to let her have a coffee tasting of sorts (eg trying the same beans prepared in two different ways). She loved it! The other staff person was very situationally aware and stepped in to help a second person who had just walked in so that he was helped and so the first person didn't feel rushed. Excellent customer service. I ordered the matcha latte. He prepared it by hand pressing matcha in a stone like mortar and pestle type device and then delicately pouring silky frothed milk over it. The taste was very clean and not sweet at all. Excellent ingredients and preparation. I sat outside at a table working smelling the coffee the whole time. I didn't feel on edge (eg hyper aware of who was around me and wondering whether someone would try to grab my laptop). The neighborhood feels somewhat deserted - not a destination, more a place where fewer people live and work, hard to get to (car required) and so it doesn't attract people who target others like in oakland. The whole time I was working I was smelling the coffee and wishing I had got that instead haha. Some notes: -They had a secret menu posted at the counter. -There's two designated parking spots in a lot shared with other businesses. Otherwise neighborhood street parking. read more

Very cute coffee shop in West Berkeley. It's definitely a unique coffee shop in that while CoRo do roast and serve their own beans at the shop, because the roastery is also the home of a number of other local roasters, they feature some of the beans from said roasters both on their menu. The interior of the space is beautiful, with lots of natural light shining in. There is also outdoor seating for when the weather is nice. The coffee is excellent. I would definitely recommend enjoying your coffee there if you have time to relax and enjoy your coffee. Plus their serving ware for their coffee is beautiful! Note: Street parking only, but fairly easy to find read more

Great latte and atmosphere! Found this place here on yelp as I was just driving through Berkeley and was pleasantly surprised!

This place is infuriatingly inconsistent in both quality and pricing. When they are good they are good, but I have had some very over extracted cups, tons of very light, weak cups. The most maddening part is the inconsistent charging. Some days they feel like charging $0.50 disposable cup charges, sometimes no. Today was a new level, where I got an 'easy ice' charge. I have ordered light ice a dozen times and this charge was both a first and not written anywhere. Moreover, the ice quantity was heavy, even heavier than normal when I do not say light ice. After I finished the liquid, the cup was 60-70 percent ice, even with a good amount of melting. In total, it was a $6 Cold brew before tip and was a smaller quantity and lower quality than I ever got. Be better and more transparent, Coro. List your charges clearly and work on consistency in your products. read more

A delightful treat after lunch at Passione Emporio(adjacent to CoRo). My fragrant cup of espresso latte blend had a rich aroma probably a result of the fresh roasted beans. What's nice about CoRo is that they operate & have a coffee roaster just behind the glass windows. So not only do you get to view the roasting process, but you also get to see it as well. Loved the fresh & aromatic espresso with latte. A perfect addition to my pizza & gelato from Passione Emporio. read more

CoRo Coffee Room has a very chill atmosphere to work or study at, and allows customers to peak into their bean roasting room with the different selections of brews that they have. Nice little hidden gem I found on my search for coffee on my way to work. It's a small space but there's ample parking, light, seats, and tables to get work done and enjoy your beverage. The internet was slow on their iPad the day I went so it was a bit slower to pay but workers are nice and patient. I got their house made chai and a cappuccino for my friend. We enjoyed our drinks and decided we'll go back again. I'd like to try the seasonal drinks on my next visit. They also have some pastries and bags of coffee for sale. read more

Nice chill spot with plenty of parking. Staff are friendly and have a good sense of humor. I ordered a Blue Willow Tea, which activated a secret menu. I've been playing too much Elden Ring, so I found that amusing. Then they asked if anyone is left-handed, which I am (I guess it's to ensure the latte art is facing the correct way). That is cool and thoughtful question. Anyways, my Jasmine Flower tea was very fragrant. I was told the Seasame and Caramel Latte was good too. We shared a tasty Mango Coconut Danish. read more

This cafe is great. Good ambiance, a lot of space and outlets to work or chat, plenty of natural light. The latte was served in a beautiful (though a bit impractical) cup. I walked in on a Friday afternoon, and it was quite packed. However, after I placed my order, I was able to quickly find a spot to settle down with my work. Although I ordered for here, they prepared my latte in a to-go cup, and one of the staff members came over to apologize. It wasn't a problem for me, so I assured them it was fine. The latte was delicious, and as I was enjoying it, the same staff member returned with a card offering my next cup on the house. They really go above and beyond here, and the view of the roastery is fascinating. I'll definitely be back! read more

This is among the best cappuccinos I've ever had. Darkly reddish brown, balanced taste and served hot. This is what a cappuccino should be. In addition I appreciate the ethos of CoRo as well as the ambiance of the space -- I came here to study and enjoyed my view of the roasting room through the big glass wall. They have a good amount of seating, but getting there earlier is better, as you'll also have less trouble finding free street parking outside. I also tried a slice of the vegan pumpkin loaf and loved it -- much fresher and spicier than the Starbuck's equivalent. I can't wait to go back! read more

Must be the slowest coffee place ever. Folks work with meditative speeds which would be good to know ahead of time.

I used to be a regular here on the weekends. No more, today was the last straw. Four people working and the coffee takes literally 25 minutes. It's been like this the last 4 times I've been in regardless of a line or not. This is NOT the place to "stop in" for coffee. It's the place to watch your hair grey as you wait, and wait, and wait some more with zero acknowledgement that everything is moving at a snail's pace. It's absolutely ridiculous to wait so long for a single drink when there's nothing extraordinary about their drinks and ton of competition around in Berkeley. read more
