I recently met with Katie Mandell, a property manager with Maple Leaf, to view a townhome in…read moreSeattle. She was responsive and accommodating while scheduling the viewing. When we toured the unit, she was very knowledgeable about the property and its history, and answered all my questions regarding the rental terms and application process. Katie was extremely kind, personable, and professional, and gave me the strong sense that she and the company she represents are trustworthy and sincere. The townhome was great, but unfortunately, another applicant applied for the unit the night before we met, so the timing didn't work out. After we toured the property, Katie was kind enough to show me another home nearby, and went above and beyond, by searching for other properties in the area managed by Maple Leaf. I decided to not move at this time, but am grateful for all of Katie's help and hope to work with her and Maple Leaf Property Management in the future.

Horrible experience! ZERO stars. I would never rent with them again. Maple Leaf is the property…read moremanagement equivalent of predatory house flippers. When I moved in I told them there was a hole in the outside wall, near the kitchen window. For the next 1.5 years I told them and they had their own inspectors take pictures of it. Despite this, they only made a move to fix it once I reported them to the city. The whole time I lived there I was told that all of my things molding was my fault (including 2 beds!). I was told to leave my cupboard doors and drawers open to prevent mildew in the kitchen. The dehumidifier I requested would fill up at the end of each day. When they finally opened the wall to fix the hole, there was black/wet insulation and they had to replace half of the kitchen's 2x4's, and the workers found another hole with earth worms living in the kitchen under the dishwasher. Despite having 5 different workers out to deal with the hole and earth worms, this was never fixed by the time I moved out. And then, 2 weeks before I moved out there was water dripping out of the bathroom ceiling fan. They opened it up to find a leak that had to be going on for at least a year because the insulation was again black and the wood was moldy. They did not fix this before I moved out. I just had to live with a hole in the ceiling above the shower... Then they illegally withheld $750 from my deposit. They didn't follow the law by detailing the reasons for withholding this amount. They simply printed out a screenshot of text messages with their handyman giving an estimate on two projects. Thankfully I was able to recover the deposit since they do not know the law or how to do their jobs. There is so much more, but this should suffice as a warning. Lastly, their own employees bad mouth each other. Highly unprofessional and shows the do not even follow basic respect standards. Disgusting, gaslighting, lying, and incompetent company. Steer clear!

Laura was an amazing landlady while she owned the building. The building has been through a lot…read moresince then and the new building/property management is atrocious! There are some things they do very well- such as responding promptly to maintenance requests. However, they are terrible at proactive maintenance, listening to tenants, and providing written notice when work is going to be done around the building or living spaces. Laura would provide a whole month of notice before she did anything and regularly kept up the building in excellent condition with a keen mind for the well-being of her tenants. It is regrettable that the Sagamore is now run by a corporate entity with very little regard for the people who live in the building. Since new management has taken over, I have FREQUENTLY felt that my belongings and living conditions are NOT safe and that I have to be vigilant about what is happening in and around my building. I like the area I live in but I would relocate somewhere that treats its tenants more like people and less like cash cows if I had the money right now.

Laura, the landlord, was very attentive and responds quickly to the very few maintenance requests that came up during our lease. The unit was well maintained and was very clean when we moved in. Other building residents were very nice and we never had any issues with noise. The location is amazing with Green Lake, great restaurants and all the grocery store options nearby (Trader Joe's, PCC, Whole foods, Safeway..!) Several bus stop options and the rooftop space is wonderful as well. I would've loved to stay longer if I didn't have to relocate for work.

Bob saved me $5000 (at least!)…read more He likely would have saved me more if I would have engaged him earlier. His whole house assessment showed me all the things I should focus on and all the things I shouldn't - like spending $5000 insulating a crawl space that didn't need insulating. We were very happy to find Simplicity Home Energy as truly independent auditors who care about their work and aren't trying to sell anything, but rather truly inform the homeowner. Bob was quick to respond and coordinate and Zak came out to do a very thorough assessment. We got confirmation that our house is actually very tightly sealed, which explained some things we'd been experiencing. It was great to have such a thorough understanding of the state of our house, and also helped us prioritize future home improvements. Some things we'd been wondering about weren't actually problems, and others we hadn't know about were more important for future fixes. It's great to have this knowledge as a basis for any future home projects. I think the report that Simplicity Home Energy provides would be helpful to inform any homeowner and is very, very worth it! Highly recommended.
