Dealership is good. They have some good salesmen that try to find what you want and at a price you want to pay. Only place in town so many vehicles have been purchased there by myself and extended family. We do like their sales staff! Very friendly, helpful, not at all pushy. Wouldn't hesitate to buy from them again. I would just make sure warranty work can be done at another dealership or private mechanic. Service (repair) dept is where the negative review comes in. Had to go there many times for warranty work on different vehicles. One very frustrating guy up front. Feel like you have to name drop who you are related to just to get them to listen to you, but even then that guy is rude. Management acknowledges this, apologizes for him often, yet still he remains. Often the work is not done on time, or not at all but they don't call to tell you. Also if your car is acting up but the engine light is not on they will not test drive it to figure it out. Even if you bought it from them the weekend before. They did try to charge me $60 for that visit, when they didn't do anything or test drive it, (odometer checked), luckily I thought to call the sales guy who had them write it off. So disappointing. If you need warranty work, try a different dealership. If you need a mechanic, try a little guy who wants to work to get paid. read more

Was traveling to Oregon from central CA and pulling a trailer. 2 miles from the dealership our pickup overheated and white smoke poured out of the exhaust. Added coolant and was able to get to the dealership. Did wait a few minutes for the busy service personnel to acknowledge us. When they did they had us drop our trailer in a safe location and immediately got the pickup in. Did have to spend the night. They gave us a loaner car. We have never been treated so courteously by a dealership.. They were thoughtful and if not so far away we would go to them for any future work.. read more

I have always had the best service when I delt with Corning Ford no matter if I needed a new truck or wanted service on one in 2003 I bought the first truck a total of 6 vehicles up to now always treated very well untell this year brought in my 2003 truck for repairs got it back with other problems The service manager was told by the mechanic I just could not hear that problem over the other , but there was no noise at all before he worked on it , I two week's later asked for manager explained what happen he was going to look on to it and call me back,no call. Very frustrated and unhappy with service dept. Does not do what is requested...not once but three times...requested 30,000 mile service...got oil change, did not even rotate tires....took back next day for tire rotation and told to get 30,000 service next oil change...took car in for 40,000 mile service...still cannot get engine filter change or cabin filter change...fluids not topped off, but marked ok. Oil change supposedly done...oil on dipstick low...ended up buying filters and changing myself and decided to check oil...dirty..replaced myself. Will no longer take to this dealership....will take car to another and have inspected to make sure everything is ok. No more patting on the head! read more

Not only do they withhold information about the vehicle you are buying, they don't follow through on promises they make at the time of purchase and they have taken 6 months to get license plates to me. When I called, they told me they have known since APRIL they needed more info from me and yet HAVENT CONTACTED ME. What a fucking joke. And they did the same bullshit to my ex and his wife only they DAMAGED their car and took 3 months and a bad review to fix it. I had been dealing with a local dealer but decided maybe I should look elsewhere for the truck I wanted and the options offered. A friend said I should try Corning Ford. He had heard great things about them and since they are on the way to my favorite fishing area (lower Sac river), I thought I might as well try them. I went to their web site to find a truck equipped as I would want it. They had the exact truck equipped just as if I had special ordered it. I contacted them by email and had an immediate response from Todd Hughes. The truck was in stock and available. Asked for their best price, he provided it - and it was very, very good. Being a Ford regular, I had incentives coming from Ford for the purchase of a new vehicle. Here's the real difference in the dealers - my original dealer I had been purchasing from for the last four years didn't tell me about all of the incentives due me. Corning Ford did. I called Todd, told him I was on my way up (also had a Edge to turn in off lease) and would be there as soon as I could get there and hopefully before they close. We arrived at the dealer, test drove the truck, turned in the lease, signed all the documents for the new truck and was on our way in UNDER AN HOUR!!! With all the incentives, I purchased the new truck instead of leasing. This was a great transaction - extremely easy, communication from Todd was tremendous and most of it was via email. Their inventory was HUGE! Would I use them again? Yep, in fact, I will probably buy two more vehicles this year - a van and an SUV. read more

If I could give this dealership a negative I would. Have a brand new Ford truck that was saying no DEF fluid when it was full. They wouldn't even come out to look at it or help. Service sucks ! My 2003 Ford F-150 broke down in Corning .I live 160 miles away. Took it in on a Sat. Morning as soon as they opened. I was the third person who checked in that morning. Had to get a Motel when they told me late Sat Afternoon they couldn't get to it, but would get to it Monday "for certain". Same story Mon. afternoon. Tues they told me they had just started working on it (a lie). Wednesday late in the Afternoon I talked to the Service Manager. He couldn't even find the paper work, but did acknowledge, "It was in the Computer". Finally they told me Thursday it was fixed. I came in friday paid my $1,200.00 for a new fuel pump etc. As I drove away I saw they hadn't bothered to reset the Engine Service warning light.....I just kept driving. Avoid Avoid Avoid! read more

Ok, about me. I am very meticulous and do lots of research prior to purchasing a car. When we buy a car we plan on keeping them until they die. Until our recent purchase at Corning, our last two cars were purchased in 2003 and 2008. My wife and I had been looking at trucks since December 2015. I first contacted Corning Ford Via the internet in February 2016 and was introduced to Todd Hughes. Todd is a very busy person, but always took the time to email me back to answer my questions and give me information that I had requested. While talking with Todd, my wife and I also had looked at other makes and dealerships. We live in Lake County and the local Ukiah Ford was absolutely worthless and the other dealerships in the area had minimal inventory. When we purchase our cars we like to use the fleet manager (who are now more often referred to as the Internet manager) their only objective is to move the inventory and will always quote you several thousand below their MSRP. If you don't believe me, I encourage you to go test drive a vehicle with a floor sales person and get their price and then immediately call and speak with the "fleet manager". You would be surprised how much lower the price can be without having to deal with a traditional sales person. As an example, prior to our purchase we were looking at a Toyota Tundra 5.6L SR5 with the TRD package and SR5 upgraded package. The lowest price I received from a lot salesman was $45k. I called the fleet manager of a Toyota dealership and was offered the same exact vehicle I test drove for $39,872 The problem with some of the fleet or internet managers a some dealerships is they won't give you a hard quote. Avoid them like the plague! Todd always gave me a quote in writing. Anyway enough about the best way to get a good price. The reason for my review was the overall experience. I called Todd the morning of our trip up and told him which trucks we were interested in. When we arrived, Todd had them ready and waiting and handed us over the keys without asking for our ID etc. It was a low pressure environment. After the test drive, we told Todd that we wanted to go to lunch to discuss the trucks and make a decision. There wasn't any pressure on his part and he didn't give us the ole "Well be back soon, because I have already had others interested in the trucks" , We went to lunch which turned out to be dinner (my wife and I are very analytical) and we called him 3 hours later to tell him our decision. It was late in the day so we told him we wanted to go home, do the financing online and then be back later in the week. Again, there wasn't any pressure put on us to come back or else the truck will be gone. We made arrangements to come in a few days later. Financing was in place, we brought our check and Todd had the truck detailed with a full tank of gas and ready to go. All in all, I rate this a great experience. One that I look forward to when we purchase another car in the next year. Corning Ford, Todd and Marty (Todd's assistant) were great to work with and we are extremely happy. read more

Went into Corning Ford after seeing a truck on the website my boyfriend and I were interested in. We went in together after researching prices on the trucks and approx. trade in value on his current truck. We met with a sales guy (not sure of his name) and he couldn't find the truck on the lot but assured us it was still available for purchase. He tried to make us a deal without us even seeing the truck. We requested a trade in quote and after they low-balled the trade in, we requested they reconsidered. I ran the KBB that same day according to VIN and exact mileage so I knew what to expect. They told me I had done it wrong and there's no way they would give that much trade in. (I had trade in value, not private party). We then got up to leave since we hadn't seen the truck we wanted and the trade in was low and the sales guy went to talk to his manager one last time. The sales guy and manager proceeded to talk badly about us while we were within ear shot. We decided to just walk out at that point. We called in to speak with a manager a little bit later and the manager hung up on us and refused to speak with us. Overall, an extremely rude and disrespectful towards us and unprofessional. Great price and I did not get the high pressure sale. Took in all my internet research and they beat the price taking into consideration factory rebates, incentives, and cash back assistance. From test drive to signing paperwork took only 2 hours. Only thing they could have done better was give me more for my trade in, but on the other hand now I don't have to bother with trying to sell my old vehicle. I've been to several ford dealerships (specifically Chico) and Corning Ford exceeded my expectations. I hate car salesmen and have even walked off lots before. I recently bought a F150 from Corning after my car broke down. Tucker helped me. He was great. There were eager to help me find the truck I wanted, not whatever vehicle they were trying to get rid of like what happened to me when I was shopping at Crown Motors. Don't get me wrong, they defiantly want you to buy a vehicle but I didn't feel pressured, even though I knew I was being difficult. I was stressed and overwhelmed (not a planned purchase) and they were very understanding despite being slightly frustrated with how difficult I was being. They had tons of trucks to choose from. New and used. I purchased a used F 150 for very close to blue book value before taxes and fees. Buying from them took a lot of the stress out of buying something used. A year ago I had purchased a used 2015 Ford f150 that was supposedly inspected bumper to bumper and test driven to ensure safety. Well, a few months later I started noticing the truck squelching during uphill's like the truck was grinding metal at some point. Upon further inspection with my mechanic they noticed that there had clearly been an accident that was covered up by the way the frame was pulled back. I called Corning where they told me basically they weren't liable for anything after the car left the lot. I'm a pretty good sport when it comes down to taking life's punches on the chin. I guess their 172 point inspection doesn't amount for much and the customer service will basically leave you high and dry when it comes down to it. Go to another dealership. read more

I have purchased three cars from here in the last year. The sales department is great, the service end is the worst I have ever seen. They don't want to warranty anything and when they do it is half ass. They kept my diesel for twenty eight days and it still can't pull a 22 foot trailer up a one percent grade without shutting down. They blew my transmission fixing the turbo, how I don't know and now they are refusing to fix a heater in my wife's car that we purchased less than a year ago. They sell you a " bumper to bumper" but won't back it up. Sorry the sales department has to be associated to such a shitty service department to back what the are selling. My next car is going to be purchased at another dealer. People like this is why people don't keep money local. read more

We are Ford/Mercury people, we drive nothing but Ford products.......we wanted to buy local whenever possible, Corning is our local dealer, excuse me, WAS our local dealer. I have an F350 and my husband has an F250, we also have a Mercury Grand Marquis. My Marquis had about 60,000 miles on it when it started making clanking noises inside the drivers side door and the window fell down. Naturally, it was expected to rain that Sunday night and we had just torn the sheltering carport off our house to build a new one. Interestingly enough, we had been to Corning Ford looking at a new Expedition that Sunday, just before my window fell down. We planned to buy an Expedition there when we had the Mercury in for service. We covered the car with a tarp and called Corning Ford for an appointment Monday. I was told to bring it in. Apparently everyone was on vacation, per our service writer, so he was very busy. I looked around, there were no cars waiting and no one but myself in the service department. I waited till he had time to even look up and told him who I was and why I was there. In the meantime my husband arrived to pick me up and he stood behind me in line. The service writer was very cranky, I explained what happened with my window. As he was writing my service order I explained that I had just had the oil changed and used synthetic oil so I did not want the oil checked or topped off. I also explained that I had nitrogen in my tires. The service writer said they had no nitrogen so we agreed he would write on the order to NOT check my tires and to NOT ADD AIR to them, as I had been told it was inappropriate to do so. I asked for an approximate amount to have my window fixed, the service writer said "under $100". We agreed that the car would be ready around 11:AM, I said great, since I had a doctors appt in Chico at 2:00PM. The service writer said he understood and would call me if there was a problem. As we went out to drive away in my husbands F250 a person from the service department had put a paper mat on the floor and he was starting to drive my husbands truck away for service. We stopped him, explained he was just there to give me a ride and took our truck back, there was still not another auto there, besides my Mercury, for service. By noon I had not heard from the service department so I called. I was told my car would not be ready till the next day! What......I had a Dr appointment in Chico at 2:00PM. Further a much more expensive part was needed and it was not available until the next day but they had ordered it. I asked why no one called me as agreed if the repair cost more than the agreed upon $100. The service writer flat out lied and said he did and that I gave permission for a $350.00 part. I asked to speak to the manager. The manager was not much nicer, said there was 35 cars ahead of us, until I explained that I am handicapped. I needed my car for not only that afternoons doctor appt. but for two I had the 1st thing the following morning. The manager then arranged for that part to be in that afternoon. When I wanted to see the part they removed when they installed the new part I was told "too late it's in the garbage" When I explained that the service writer never ok'd the part with me, but said he did, the manager, suddenly, became defensive. My husband took me to get my car, I paid the bill, then noted it said they topped off all fluids and added air to the tires......the service writer said he was sure that was a mistake, I was starting to get very anxious at that point. What happens when you add air to nitrogen filled tires? I didn't know, but had been told never to add air to the tires, only nitrogen. The service writer didn't know either. Yikes, was it safe to drive? I had a blowout at 70 mph and hit a semi on the freeway, creating my handicapped status when the F350 I was driving sommersaulted down the freeway end over end flinging me in and out of the truck. That made the service writer mad..what? We carefully drove to Costco, where they graciously removed the "air" from my tires and replaced it with nitrogen. I complained to Ford and to the Automotive Board of California. The manager of Corning Ford told the investigator that I had caused a HUGE scene when I brought the car in that Monday morning and upset the entire place. That I screamed/swore and carried on in front of the staff and all the other customers. I WAS the only customer. The only other people in the place were my husband and the service writer. Our intention was to return later that day to buy that Expedition.........why would we behave badly at a place we hoped to do business with later that day? Corning Ford told the investigator, I could never come back to their business because I caused a scene that Monday morning. My window still is broken. We used to have a fleet account with them...never again! Horrid service! read more

Read Before You Buy at Corning Ford Maybe Corning Ford has changed its ways but i doubt it. Raised around Fords my whole life in Dec 03, bought my first new truck. Little over a month head gasket blew took it in to Corning Ford they had it over a month. Service dept would not provide a vehicle for me during that time as a result my family and business suffered. Get my truck back and more things were wrong with it, then before i took it in. i.e.(linkage in column, moldings broken, carpet not put back correctly, back seat not bolted back down). This was the first time of many trips to corning ford for various issues and to get these concerns addressed and fixed. 4 yrs i tried to resolve these issues and even had a face to face with the owner Benny Brown himself. Which in the end he assured me this matter would be resolved, he was very apologetic for the problems. Tried another 6 months after the meeting and nothing was ever resolved. Corning Ford has changed my attitude and feelings toward Fords and I will never own another Ford. Thank you Corning Ford for my worst experience ever buying my first new truck. read more

I came in to pick up my company diesel truck a few days ago. From what happened i know i will never come back. while going over the tech copy that i was required to sign to pick up the truck the service writer "Shela" came over and riped the papers from my hand, tossed them behind the service counter and said " That is not for you to look at, your copy is there" I have been in the auto service field for a few years and know what i was looking at. but to have paperwork riped from my hands and be treated like a child, when my company had just paid $6,500 on diesel repairs is beyond absurd. Very frustrating and exasperating 'Service' center. Won't ever take my vehicles there again. Bought two new cars from there and I will take my business somewhere else. People have recommended Elk Grove Ford and I will try them out. A little out of my way but maybe worth the effort. Even though I've got 'freebie' oil changes with new vehicles I won't even use these. These people lack the knowledge and customer relations you come to expect when you give them business. They act like you are doing them the favor. Shabby workmanship to even wonder if the work was even done. They do not keep you abreast of the Ford rebates. Don't waste your time- you will definitely come away frustrated. I would go into detail about my experiences but there is not enough space on this post. I would take my experience to the Bureau of Automotive Repair but I wont waste my time. I've bought five (5) vehicles from corning ford in the past 8 years. They have always treated me and my family well until my last purchase. The salesman was awful and I was treated like crap. I made it known that I couldn't put any money down. I was repeatedly pushed to "just write a check for 500 and we will hold it until your paid." Clearly they didn't understand I could not afford a down payment. I was then told that 500 dollars was nothing and they didn't understand how I couldn't afford it. We went looking at used cars; made several offers and the salesperson was reluctant to take "too many offers to the manager". Their prices were high and they weren't willing to deal much. We ended up settling on a used F350 truck. When we were in the business manager's office signing papers, they stuck in a $189.00 charge for what they called a theft deterrent; it was actually some stickers which WOULD NOT DETER ANY THIEF WORTH HIS SALT! They will give you a good price package on a vehicle, HOWEVER, their service department is a complete RIP OFF and couldn't have cared less about my problem. Brought in my 2010 Mustang with engine light on - no biggie, I asked if I could have it quickly checked for anything possibly wrong because I was frantically back and fourth to San Francisco, my husband was on life support at UCSF hospital. They said they could accommodate me, but not only did the check not get done quickly, I WAS THERE FOR 3 FREAKIN' HOURS!!! All they did was check the code (which I know takes less than 20 min, because my husband is a mechanic), was told it was only a "communication error" and charged me $92!!! I said what about the 100,000 mile bumper-to-bumper warranty I purchased? Answer: Doesn't cover "diagnostics". Less than 2 days later, then engine light came back on - and still is. Went in to look at some used cars. The salesman we were working with was nice and we got along well. We decided on a car we were interested in buying. The salesman asked if he could get the price to something we liked, would we buy the car today. We told him we would see. He wanted a yes or no answer. We went back and forth on the price and got to something more in the ballpark. My husband and I were both using our phones looking at Kelly Blue Book. The salesman told us to stop paying attention to our phones because KBB isnt always right. At that point we had enough and told him it was getting late and we needed the night to think about it. He became visibly angry and told us he had spent all day with us and we should have told him in the beginning that we werent sure we were going to buy a car that day. He kept trying to push that point so we walked out of the office. Another salesman was walking by and asked if everything was ok. The salesman that we were working with then said, "These people are liars. They went back on their word." My husband told him we didnt want the car and we walked out. We realized they still had our keys so we went back in to get them and the salesman was still going on about it. My husband told him he should be embarrassed and he would never treat any customer that way. The sales manager said if we came back and bought it the next day he would take $1000 off.
