They have various sizes of Kim chee too, not sure if it's made in house, but looks like it. We came here for lunch and ordered the Jefferson. They did not have subs that day so I got mine on sourdough. Sandwiches are tasty. They're generous with ingredients. I appreciate that they don't put too much mayo in the sandwich. The sliced sourdough was soft with a crust that wasn't too tough, sometimes sourdough is hard to bite off or the crust is too hard. I enjoyed it. It was solid sandwich that I got, their most popular comes with prosciutto mozzarella and all the trimmings. I ordered mine on a baguette roll and to me, what makes the taste was their pickled peppers and that oil that ferments and put it all together. I still prefer the Bob & Pup shop near Dupont Circle where I used to work nearby. First off; the sandwiches are incredible. The amount of options and unique ingredients makes this place stand out. HOWEVER, for those with anxiety in public places, do not go here during the lunch rush. The place is very cramped and there is no clear instructions on where to cue. I made this mistake and was getting passed in line because I was standing in the wrong place. Upon me speaking up (politely), the cashier asked my name, then proceeded to single me out in front of the entire crowded shop. Apparently they have a "system" which is to order and then wait to pay when your sandwich is ready. I understand that it is crowded and they have a lot going on, but I felt the belittlement was not necessary. I tried to remain as polite as possible, but I didn't want to spend another second in there after that. If you are not a regular and situations like this upset you, this may not be the place for you unless you are prepared or going during slow hours. If you don't care about that (some people seek out belittlement for the thrill) then this place is worth it for sure. You will get a really flavorful sandwich that isn't super greasy or salty and leaves you feeling energized and not sleepy. Hopefully you don't make the mistake I did. A sandwich and chips were just shy of ten bucks. Nice selection to choose from, each sandwich had a name akin to the something in the area. The clerk said the stadium was the most popular sandwich, so that's what I tried. Now if you don't know me by now and my fear or distaste of mayo you know that that was a no go...so balsamic vinegar it is. And go! What I got was a ginormous sandwich that had smoked pepper mill turkey, avocado and BACON! Pretty much all of my favorite things. They didn't skimp on the toppings and the sandwich was extremely fresh. If I wasn't so hongreh, I would have saved half for later. Too bad... If I'm ever in the area, I'm soo going back.
