I had heard so many wonderful things about this place that I finally made my way to Chatham to check it out. As I was standing in line to order, the chef came out with a fresh batch of the day's special-- coconut and mango chicken. He must have caught me grinning and salivating, because he asked me how I was doing, and I could only answer, "Great." I felt even better after eating the burrito-- absolutely delicious! great whoopie pies, terrible customer service. i have never been in at establishment where they quite literally yell at you. shout out to the girl with purple hair that was yelling at all her customers. a customer that's never been there probably doesn't know how your assembly line works so maybe instead of saying "i don't do that" very rudely, you could explain the process! also wouldn't recommend calling a customer up to take their order to tell them to wait. yelling at all your customers to stand outside isn't very friendly. if you would like for them to stand outside though, politely asking works instead of yelling :) only 2 people out of group of 6 ordered because of this awful experience and we would never be back. i'm sure there's other places in chatham with better customer service :) it also wasn't just our party of 6 that were taken a back by this experience and yelling as another of party of 2 left when we were summoned outside. read more

Years and years ago, this place was supposedly a dumpy store that my grandfather would refuse to go in. They have totally redone it, and now it's a cute little place. My Dad and I were in here recently, on his recommendation to get their breakfast burritos that he raves about. There is one line for burritos, and one line for paninis. Turns out, in getting there at 11:45 we were too late for breakfast burritos, as they stop making them at 11. My father got a chicken/pepper panini, and I got a veggie burrito. There is a register at the end of each line. I couldn't pay for my father's sandwich on my card, unless I went over to the other register to pay for his separately. That's just odd. I think the Corner Store has the best burritos on the Cape. Lunch, dinner, or breakfast...you can't go wrong. There is often a line out the door. Keep your eyes open for a separate line for paninis which are also amazing. The whoopee pies are very good and come in two sizes and a variety of flavors like standard chocolate cake and white filling to coconut or red velvet or peanut butter. They are in the fridge so let them come up to room temperature. The hard-working energetic staff are friendly and helpful. My only complaint is that I don't see hats or hair coverings on these food prep workers! My son pointed it out to me on a visit this summer and I have made it a point to notice on subsequent visits. This is a really fun breakfast place. We went this morning for the second time (first time was on our visit last year). It's a breakfast burrito place and you can pick the toppings. Everything is tasty and the staff is super friendly. I had steak and eggs with beans, onions and peppers today. We got up very early so there was no line but if you go st a more reasonable hour or during peak season there is a pretty long line. Everything is consistently good here and super fresh - breakfast/lunch burritos (sweet or savory) are the best on The Cape if not further west, the paninis are creative and flavorful, the soups are divine. Try the daily specials for lunch, they always have creative flavor profiles, especially the burritos. Lines in the summer are out the door, so get there early (6-7 for breakfast, 11ish for lunch) or the wait will be loooooonnnnngggg... That's how delicious the food is. Everyone is super fast and super friendly, they get you in and out in no time, or call ahead and they'll have everything ready for you so you don't have to wait in line! Choose between wheat and white wraps, which they steam with cheese (or extra cheese!) then you pick exactly what you want to go in it - you can even mix meats! Chicken and steak, steak and pork, chicken and veggie of the day, the combinations are endless! They also have a meat of the day, like buffalo chicken or blackened TILAPIA on Fridays! You even can get a naked burrito with no wrap at all, for those who are on diets.. You can mix beans (refried, black or pinto) or just get one kind, corn or reg salsa (or both!), lettuce of course, and guac/sour cream is extra, but so worth it! Hot sauce, onions, even asian slaw to add crunch! The only thing is they're only open until 6:00pm, so unfortunately not food for late-night munchies, but they do open at 6:00am and have really yummy breakfast burritos (that are not as enormous as the lunch size) - choose eggs, cheese, homefries, mushrooms, onions, spinach, ketchup.. etc. I can't say ENOUGH wonderful things about this place. Visited twice last week while on vacation and thought this place was great! The vibe is awesome and super friendly...which makes waiting on the long line bearable. Steve, who I think is the owner, seems to have this place under control and operating like a well-oiled machine. He is super friendly, as is his staff. The first trip I ordered the steak burritos for 4 different people, all with different toppings etc..and everyone loved them!!! The second trip I ordered the Eggplant Panini which was AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I wish they could Fedex one to me at home! I followed it with a carrot cake whoopie pie...which was heaven. I have been to this place many times over the last couple of years. The food is consistently delicious and innovative, the staff friendly and accommodating. They make an excellent "Cubano" sandwich. The ground meat they put into the burritos has a slight sweetness to it that is absolutely marvelous. Saw this place on the way to Chatham and decided to stop for breakfast the next day, based on Yelp reviews. Definitely glad we did. My wife and I got some fantastic breakfast burritos, an iced coffee and a couple mini whoopie pies. The burritos were stuffed full and very filling. Coffee was great, and the coconut whoopie pie was really good, with a nice cake and thick, sweet filling. Overall the place is a little pricey, but nothing extraordinary for the area. I love this place, always get a burrito when I'm back home. It may look like an old fashioned corner store on the outside but you'll be surprised by what you find the first time you stop in. On one side they make great burritos, especially the breakfast ones, with a ton of toppings to choose from. My favorite is how they steam the cheese directly on the tortilla. So, we ordered our delicious food, which was expertly put together by a very warm, friendly staff and then we headed out to the car. Warm and friendly would soon be redefined for us, but first I have to say that the food was amazing. The burritos we each had, the panini the kids shared and stunning red velvet whoopie pie were all fresh and outstanding. And then the car wouldn't start. Our car resisted repeated attempts from the owner and a staff member to help with their own cables and a jump from one of their cars. A call to roadside assistance promised a cramped, miserable wait in the car until we see a smiling face insisting we come back inside. Clip boards with paper and color pencils materialized for the kids. Iced water for each of us and a refusal to let me pay for another whoopie pie (yes, they are that good). When you have a great meal, you feel lucky to to find a good place and promise yourself you'll go back someday soon. When you have a great meal and you're treated with the kind of warmth and hospitality that you'd only expect from dear friends, you feel blessed and make a point of going back as soon as you can. As a local, I generally avoid the Corner Store like the plague during the summer; I can't deal with being squeezed in with 50 people in Nantucket red whale shorts/dresses, but the burritos here are amazing. I get cravings for my eggplant & basil with refried, Frank's, guacamole, and lettuce. Everyone who works here is super friendly, and it's just a nice feeling walking in there. Things are kept clean, they change their gloves regularly, and those flowers on the counter are always stunning! The absolute *only reason* I won't give it 5 stars is the coffee. It's Beanstock, which I love, but they brew it SO WEAK that's it's been undrinkable at times. Occasionally you can get a decent cup, but that's rare in my experience. It's really disappointing, because I would love to stop there on my way to work, but will go to Ollie's instead - same Beanstock coffee, just brewed right. Sorry guys. read more

Mixed feelings but I'll start with the good. The good: The corner store makes incredible breakfast burritos with great ingredients. I love it as there aren't any build your own breakfast around and the quality is amazing. They make my favorite cookies in the world - their ginger snap massive and gooey freshly made daily cookies. I can never leave without one! The bad: Breakfast ends very early. It'd be nice to still be able to get a breakfast burrito up until noon but that's more personal opinion. Their slogan "fresh.fast.fun" is only partially true. Off season, I'd say that's accurate. But for 5 months out of the year, I don't find this to be true. Fresh YES! Fast NO. Fun NOT ALWAYS. The food is great, however, when it gets slightly busy (more than 5 people in line) and especially in the summer, they get extremely overwhelmed it seems. This is totally understandable as it does many places on cape. BUT, they don't handle it as well as they could. Many times, the overheated workers in the line up are so rushed and anxious they're pushy and mean. They have two registers but they almost never use it even when the line is out the door. The way the layout in the line/of the corner store doesn't make much sense to efficiently get people in the door or able to explore the other items for sale. If you find yourself in line for 20 mins and finally are able to see the options to build your meal, you'll often be shouted at to go faster because your holding up other customers (even if you're really not). You feel like a number and not a customer. At checkout, they usually don't even say anything nice or thank you & get aggravated with the miscommunication of their other employees. The conversations (bad ones) and energy/tone is VERY obvious and not fun. Often, forget to include things paid for. It's very expensive but that's not unique for cape. A locals discount could be nice like some places do especially during busy season that heavily effects accuracy & experience. Please do better. I love your food and I am not unique to these feelings. I love seeing small businesses & cape owned businesses thrive but customer service & management needs a big step up especially under pressure. That's what the food industry is like often. read more
