Took about 12 min to get there 2 miles away (South Bay's always congested). Service was quick and employees were friendly. We've been coming here more often since Panera bread seems to always be out of..... BREAD! Corner always has the soups and bread bowls, baguettes in stock. I know if I have a craving for a broccoli cheese bread bowl and turkey sandwich, that the drive will be worth it. Everything always tastes fresh and the kids meals are filling. Panera kids meal was a tiny soup and stick of yougurt. Corner was a soup or sandy or Mac, with a side, a nice cup of fruit, included the drink, and portions were enough to fill up my kids. Went to Panera last night, once again, out of bread bowls, the sun was still up yet they said they aren't baking anymore. So, we are finally done with that place. This location is so disappointing. I give it a try about once a year cause back in the day it was great. But now it's always dirty. You go to the coffee counter at 8 am and the half and half is empty and so are 3 of the containers. Inform the employee that two are empty but he doesn't check the other two. After 5 minutes I'm informed they don't have bananas for my oatmeal but bananas are the highlighted item for the menu. Finally order comes up and it looks like it's been wrapped in foil by a 5 year old and the foil sandwich is at the bottom being crushed. I got the Chicken Pomodori Panini and the Bacon Tomato three cheese Macaroni and they were amazing, and had so much flavor. One of best sandwiches I have had in a long time. The breakfast here is also outstanding and you can also order by phone and pick the food up which is convenient. This place is well priced considering the food is of high quality and is delicious. Let me preface by saying I like Corner Bakery- the Chain. The food is good, the prices are reasonable and the atmosphere is pleasant for the most part. But why oh why is the Redondo Beach location always so dreadfully dirty? Why do we always have to feel as though something has been left off from our order, or that the the finished product is just subpar. I don't have this experience at other locations as I do at this RB location. Sticky floors, sticky salt and pepper shakers, debris under the tables, just unpleasantly dirty. If it's this way in the front it scares me to think what it's like in the back. Paninis that are soggy and soup that is luke warm and lettuce that is soggy. Love being able to use the coupons they send on occasion, but frankly they don't even make it worth coming. My kids say well we can just ask for it to go; and my response is, they'll get the order wrong or leave something off and them you'll be upset. Unfortunately the front line staff are not to blame. This is the result of careless management and therefore a trickle down affect. Why should they care when the GM obviously does not. Perhaps a new GM and new Managers would breath some new life into this RB location. Please do something to fix the issues here so we can enjoy this neighborhood cafe. read more

I come here every so often and they are absolutely spectacular. Their service is amazing and they always are very quick when serving food. Last night I came in at around 8pm and ordered a choose two meal, so an Uptown Turkey Avocado sandwich and a Chicken Carbonara Pasta and replaced the side of chips with a side of Caesar salad, all for around $11. The place was completely empty and extremely clean. The shopping center they are located in has a huge parking lot and overall we had a great experience with all the employees and the quality of food was delicious. Really cute place with lots of available seating and ample parking. The food itself was pretty good. I got the buttermilk pancakes with bacon (3 slices). The pancakes were fluffy and the bacon was between crispy/chewy, perfect for me! Cost is $7.99, not bad for 4 slices of pancakes. My boyfriend got the Anaheim panini. That was delicious itself but very small and disappointing it did not come with any sides, you pay ~$6 for only half of a sandwich...although tasty, I say it's not worth the money. The scramblers come with sides for about $1-2 more. I would opt for those as you can get fruit, toast and/or potatoes. Seems like a better deal for the cost. Oh the agony! I must be some kind of a masochistic as I keep returning here. I must like the pain bc I continue to return knowing that it is just going to keep getting worse. Service SUCKS! Regardless of it being a chain, I really like Corner Bakery. They have great food at really reasonable prices. The freshly baked goods such as bread, croissants, muffins, are always really fresh tasting and the ambiance is very clean and comfortable with the dark woods and leather upholstery for their bench seating and chairs. This location even has a sofa and a few armchairs where you can kick back and even do some laptop work since they provide free wifi. On the past few occasions, I've had anything from oatmeal to All American breakfast which completely meets my new dietary regimen coming with scrambled eggs, three rashers of bacon, rye toast and potatoes. I only have to switch out the potatoes for a nice bowl of fruit which they were more than willing to do. The service had always been friendly and attentive at this location. This is a great place to grab breakfast, lunch and dinner. You can get free refills on coffee. I'll be back soon. read more

Driving along PCH in Redondo Beach, I couldn't find anything I felt like eating. I ended up here because I remember seeing it on my past trips to Handel's Ice Cream in the same shopping center. I ordered a cup of cheddar broccoli soup and loaded baked potato soup along with the chicken carbonara and Mac and three cheeses for two of us. I liked the soups and the chicken carbonara, but I wouldn't order the Mac and cheese again. It was on the plain side and pretty average with a slight spicy kick to it. In the future, I'd like to try the chili and I heard that the chicken pomodori is rave-worthy. I often frequent the Manhattan Beach location and had never been to this location. It's only been recently that I've gotten the chance to "respect the panini" here. The first time I came here was for lunch. I tried out California Grille on Whole Grain Harvest. It had zucchini, artichoke hearts, roasted tomatoes, spinach and provolone cheese. It was super yummy but I wish they added more veggies in there. (It seemed there was only one piece of each vegetable) I split this sandwich with my mom and tried out the other half of my mom's sandwich. My mom got the Corned Beef Reuben on Rye. There was sauerkraut and Swiss cheese inside. This was just as yummy as the California Grille. It was actually a bit more fulfilling because there was plenty of corned beef.) We got our panini with soup. I got the loaded baked potato soup while my mom got the chicken noodle soup. (Oh just a comment tha the baked potato soup is not for vegetarians because there are pieces of ham in there). The second time my mom and I came here was for the official "respecting the panini" because we were going to try out their breakfast panini:). It was our first time to try out breakfast at Corner Bakery. We got the Ham and Swiss Panini on Sourdough and the Anaheim Panini on Sourdough. The Anaheim Panini has scrambled Eggs, bacon, tomatoes, avocado and cheddar cheese. I have to say that the breakfast panini is truly excellent. They're not only tasty but very fulfilling. Both the Ham and Swiss and the Anaheim Panini are great and one whole panini is enough to leave you pretty full. I even want to say I kinda like their breakfast a bit more than their lunch panini (though don't get me wrong, I like their lunch panini a lot :). Aside from the breakfast panini, we also tried out their coffee. Corner Bakery also has pretty good coffee. It's self serve and there are different flavors that you can choose from :). All in all, I enjoyed my two trips here. The folks that work here are super nice too! They helped give another reason to respect the panini...aka respect Corner Bakery for their awesomeness. I've loved coming to Corner Bakery for years. I've always gotten a chicken pomodori sandwich or an order of mac and cheese which are always fantastic. However, recently the quality and care for the food prepared has been disappointing. I opened up my to-go sandwich when i got home to find a minuscule amount of chicken and cheese, and practically none of the other ingredients. I'm mostly eating bread. My friend who ordered the same thing had a hole in the middle of the bread that seemed to have been torn apart. You would expect for a mistake in prep like that would be redone, and not sent off to the customer. Not sure what's happening to this place. read more

The Corner Bakery has a very special place in my.... tummy. My mom loves this place, and we always went to the one in Manhattan because well.. that was the only one around. But now this lovely spot has opened, and it's much closer to me than the other one. AUTOMATIC 2 stars for that!! This one is super clean and pretty great service. Add on another star!! It's also less crowded. That's FOUR stars now!! Moving on. I like to think of this place as a tastier version of panera. While I love Panera very much, they do not offer pasta, and that is what my bf loves. Their half-moon cheese ravioli is really good, but what blows that out of the ballpark is there pesto cavatappi pasta. omg I think I died a little when I tried it. Really light pesto sauce, grilled chicken, and bread crumbs on top. The portions were pretty big too. I like their paninis, and their caesar is the perfect amount of dressing and parmesan cheese to my liking. The other day I had a cup of their chicken noodle soup, and it was heaven. Love this location on PCH. Plenty of seating and wide open floor plan, perfect atmosphere to dine and work on your laptop. It's not crowded, loud, or dirty like other locations in the area. Staff is also so attentive and friendly. They're quick on their hands and feet serving you food, wiping and cleaning and picking up the trash... I dunno why that's so refreshing for me to see and sit at clean tables and chairs. Based on customer service and dining experience alone, this CBC deserves 5 stars. Cafe food is cafe food, I wouldn't expect their soup and sandwich and pasta to be made by top-chefs. So glad I can visit often. read more

The ingredients are so poor quality and so processed that even my kids wouldn't eat their food or muffins. On top of that, the service is atrocious.
