We've been to Corelife's before, but the first time here. My wife and I both got delivery of their bowls: Korean grain bowl and Korean bbq platter. We both thought the food didn't taste like real Korean bbq, but did taste okay. We liked the vegetables and grains. The serving of the pork was VERY small, but tasted good. We got our food via a 3rd party, but my blame is on Corelife for not including the Rosemary Potatoes. To make matters worse, their prices in the app were $1.50 more expensive so we were out $5 instead of $3.5 in real life menu prices. The prices are insane for what you get - $2.99 for naan and hummus & you get one piece of naan with a tiny amount of hummus. Just charge more so you can get an ok amount. That said, I ordered a sweet potato bowl; it came with both black beans and chickpeas - there were ZERO sweet potatoes, and about 5 black beans and 5 chickpeas for the entire bowl. Hardly any quinoa as well. Just all spinach & sauce. I do not mind paying for higher quality food but when you are served filler for premium prices, I take issue. The food TASTES good if they actually give it to you but the lack of the said offerings is a huge bummer & would keep me from ordering from here again as it it not inexpensive for the meal. Really disappointed. If it's more expensive and I get my money's worth - then ok! But I feel like I was robbed a bit on their offerings (per their own menu) & while the food is good, the value is about the worst I have experienced. Very let down by this place. Much like Subway or any other build your own food place, it's up to you to find what you like and combine ingredients well. We both made bowls with tofu and greens. I got the spicy rice noodles. The noodles had an odd consistency so I probably will just get extra greens from now on. One thing to note: SAY WHAT SMOOTHIE YOU WANT AT THE BEGINNING OF THE LINE. There isn't a sign to let customers know that so people kept asking for smoothies when they were paying. The smoothies are made to order in the back so it takes awhile and you're stuck eating without a drink. So do everyone in the line a favor by ordering your smoothie at the beginning. Great place. Great food! I had takeout. I haven't had CLE since I lived in Grand Rapids. I used to eat there pretty regularly when I lived on the west coast of Michigan. I really love the options and the way you can mix and match what sounds good to you. When I'm working and need to stay at it, CLE is such a great option for takeout. Expect to spend $10-15 per person with sides and drinks. The business' atmosphere is great and there are plenty of tables for dine-in (indoors and outdoors). It has a chipotle feels to it without the chipotle. They seam to strongly support sustainability as they focus on biodegradable paper plates and carryout paper bags (this is a huge + for me). You will not have any problems finding a parking spot. The food: I would highly recommend trying their sprouts. Most of their plates are served with a base (rice, quono, etc) and you can choose steak, chicken, or pork for your topping (so many vegetarian options as well). I asked for extra dressing on the side, they gave me the wrong dressing. They didn't give me any utensils... However...the bowls are good and I like that they offer black rice in their rice blend. It's very expensive for what you get (this costs me $11 in New York). A bowl and a seltzer later cost me almost $20! So good! Went for the 3rd time yesterday on a day date with my husband. I ordered the tofu and mushroom broth bowl without the Siracha at the end. Wow was it too spicy for me!!! But the taste was delicious! My husband ordered the steak and blue cheese green bowl and while he wished he would have ordered double the protein he loved it! I like the fresh juice bar too as it makes me try different combinations of flavors I wouldn't have thought about before! I thought this place was too expensive when it first opened but I've realized that the quality of the food, the freshness of everything ordered, and the cleanliness of the place really justifies it. We spent $18 for 2 large bowls and if we would have gone to a regular fast food place we would have probably spent $13-$16 for 2. I gave only 3 stars for the pickup food I ordered through the app. I ordered in person last week for the same food and it was delicious. My take out food was barely edible. Way too much cabbage and sauce. And when I picked it up at the window, the young man just looked down at me and said nothing. I told him my name and he again didn't say anything and disappeared. To sum this up in one sentence: it let me down. I had a friend bring me back home what was supposed to be a Korean BBQ Bowl and it was so far from what I had genuinely expected. The tiny portion of beef was literally flavorless. Like it literally just tasted like beef, not Korean BBQ. And the kimchi... it lacked the basic seasonings you associate with kimchi, therefore a lot of the flavor. Plus I quite clearly got the end bit of the head of cabbage (you can see it in the photo) which also wasn't fun. I will still be eating it because it isn't necessarily bad, but it also isn't good.
