Decided to try CoreLife for our first time. It will be our last time. We ordered online, was given a time that our order would be ready and I arrived early. I waited for the specific time and it was 10 minutes past that that I got my order. I finally inquired five minutes after the time at The pick up window where three employees were standing and would not make eye contact with me. As for the food, our order was not correct, price was high, and there was a little meat to be had. No napkins in the sack, no apology for being late. Corelife specialty is Bowls: Green Bowls, Grain Broth Bowls, and Warm Rice Bowls. With Dressing scratch-made and gluten-free. Plus fresh healthy beverages, no pop. I had the Spicy Thai antibiotic-free Chicken, spicy Thai rice noodles, napa cabbage, sesame sriracha spouts, scallions, peppers, cilantro, Thai chili sauce. Dressing: Carrot Chili Vinaigrette. I recommend the Cayenne Cranberry lemonade. The food was delicious and the drinks were good too. I decided not to write my review on that day. I wanted to come back another time and write my review then. So, I came back another day and got a carryout. The restaurant was empty, it was maybe two customers we're there. I have this thing about restaurants, with an empty parking lot or an empty dining room. I usually don't go in. But, I went in, the staff was nice, they took my order and prepared my food and I was out of there. I ordered the same thing: Thai Noodles Bowl with carrot dressing and a Cayenne Lemonade. There can never be enough flavorful healthy food stops. Located in Maple Village, this place offers something different to the restaurants that are already there (Coney, Chinese, food bar at Plum). Upon walking inside, your eyes are greeted by fresh ingredients like whole pineapple, lettuce, avocados, etc. so you know you're in for a treat. Options for food range from plates of roasted veggies to salads to poke bowls. Most everything is made in-house including salad dressings & sauces. The food is made assembly line style (like Chipotle, for example) so you can easily modify to your liking. Whatever you order, your plate will most definitely be colorful & a fiesta for your taste buds! On my visit, I tried the tuna poke bowl which was a combination of hot & cold ingredients. The tuna came with a spicy sauce which did have quite a bit of heat so you may want to have them use less than the normal amount. The sauce isn't so spicy that other flavors are masked but I was sweating! For drinks, there are several different types of fancy lemonades flavored with beets, honey, cucumbers or cranberries. I tried them all but the tastes were too strange for me so I stuck to plain jane lemonade which was great! The place is spacious with both table and booth seating. There are bathrooms with changing tables for those who have little ones and high chairs as well. All cups for drinks are recyclable and there is a separate receptacle for them next to the trash cans. I like that no plastic forks/spoons/knives are used, only silverware. No wait service, so bus your own table after eating. You'll most likely feel excellent after having dined in with food you know is good for you and that tastes amazing! I will be a returning customer soon! read more

This place was really good. I tried it for the first time on Tuesday by myself, I went in and everybody was very friendly. I liked how they had so many options for everybody, regardless of your diet. I'm a vegetarian and I had no difficulty finding options that were suitable for me. I know they have gluten-free options, I know they have vegan options, and of course they have your traditional meat meals. They were very friendly, calling you even by name when they go through the line. They have a lot of fresh options, which is their whole business model. And they really do follow through with it. I enjoyed their options, even in lemonade and drinks. I totally recommend trying all of their freshly made teas and lemonade, some of them very unique like cayenne & fruit lemonade.They were really waste conscious, opting to use metal silverware and real plates. They recycle glass, and just all in all are doing a really great job minimizing their footprint. I always love establishments that are environmentally conscious. My real complaint is that my Mediterranean only had two pieces of Falafel. It was very disappointing because that was the main substance/protein source. Adding even just one more would make me want to get this again, but I was pretty disappointed in the one falafel factor, so I'll opt to try something else next time, maybe including the hummus because it was SO good (very unique taste). They could maybe add a little more dressing also, and I think she knew that when she was mixing, but I think they have a premeasured cup to use. Pricewise, expect to may $10-15 a person for a meal and a drink. Good price for what you pay, because the portions are huge. I definitely recommend. read more

I am very happy this place is so close to where I live! My wife and I visited last week, and it was a great lunch experience. We each got one of their bowls with dressing, and our meals were delicious. Ingredients are healthful, portions are perfect, and the prices are refreshingly reasonable. Plus, I really appreciate the flexibility on the menu -- the paleo, keto, vegetarian, vegan, and allergic eaters can all find multiple dining options, all of them satisfying. The Michael Pollan quote posted on the wall was a nice bonus for me :-) My only reasons for not giving 5 stars: - I'd like to see the word 'organic' on more of the ingredients - I'd like to see less plastic I'll certainly be coming back :-) read more

I've been so excited to try this place, and I finally went tonight. I track my calories daily, so I love that they have all of the nutrition information online. I ordered the Mediterranean Salad, and asked them to add jalapeños and grilled chicken. Unfortunately, I just got home to track my Mediterranean Salad, and realized that they didn't give me the hummus or the falafel :/ I'm pretty disappointed. I'm supposed to go back Monday with a friend for lunch, so I'll have to double check that all of the ingredients are included. This place is a hidden gem! I wanted something on the healthier side and this was it. Note they also have great customer service. So i ordered the Spicy Ginger steak and rice noodles with beef broth. Although it was in the broth everything tasted fresh...the kale, noodles, pickled onions, etc. It was like eating a soup with veggies. It also reminded of eating a good ramen. In addition, I got a steak fajita taco on Naan. I should mention, really like their grilled steak and they prices arent expensive either. Next week when I order my taco, i will get pickled onions on it to add a kick. Flavors were good but I like a kick. The lemonades were worth trying too. The beet lemonade might surprise you cause the beet flavor is mild but I promise you will taste the cayenne pepper in the cranberry cayenne pepper lemonade. The other person with me ordered the Steak Bacon and Bleu without the bacon and with kale instead of romaine. I should note you can customize anything you order! The ingredients for it were also fresh. The kale and mesclun weren't wilted. The tomatoes were firm and it tasted great. The only negative was the cranberry vinaigrette which we got of the side. I've been looking for a place to get salads around Ann Arbor, and this one exceeded my expectations! The amount of options and combinations of a salad you can make is incredible. All the ingredients are fresh and actually have flavor. I normally don't go for salads because they don't fill me up, but the customized salad I created here actually felt like a whole meal. I came back to it as often as I could. The people who work here are very helpful and friendly, they let me sample their unique selection of dressings and had helpful recommendations about what ingredients could go together. Although I didn't get a chance to try them, they have broth bowls, baked veggies, soups, and entree-like dishes. This place is about as liberal as it gets. If you don't like salad, then gtfo. Corelife is a salad place, they also have grain and soup and noodles. You can customize your dish. It's very good, with fresh ingredients and a variety of fancy teas and lemonades, a liberal snob in Ann Arbor should love it. When you walk in, it's super cold and music is blasting, if you can deal with that, it's great. Just don't get the tuna, it's mushy and will probably give you food poisoning. I would go with just fresh greens and some soup. There nine broths are fabulous. Try the lemonade as well, all of this should go together perfectly. Honestly four stars if you get carry out. It tasted too healthy in a not-good way. The saving grace was the fantastic customer service and the really accommodating staff members here. We liked the food very much. I'm partial to the Korean bowl. But every time we have eaten there. The female staff doesn't have their hair under control. Lots of open food containers in the prep area. Recently had Corelife for lunch at work - ordered their tuna poke bowl. And wow, I don't think I've ever seen a restaurant carry out a poke dish so poorly. The sesame dressing was super off-putting - tasted like actual dirt. The veggies were stale and I think they should have been tossed out a few days ago. The avocado was also not fresh - it was noticeably brown in places. But the crowning piece? The tuna itself - super mushy, metallic tasting, and of course doused with sesame seeds even though I specifically asked for no sesame seeds. Took a peek at the website, I get this chic modern vibe from it, but if your food is super unpalatable and your attention to detail that shoddy, that won't matter. You will keep losing customers and won't attract new ones eventually - I certainly do not intend on trying it again. read more

Where has this place been? I live on the opposite side of town, and didn't know this place existed. I asked the manager how long they'd been there and he said a year and a half. What??? I asked her what some of the items were and could she recommend anything to me. I swear she acted like she didn't hear me. I decided to just move on and order. I chose the Korean BBQ Pork Warm Rice Bowl. A little on the spicy side, but tolerable. The bbq shredded pork was delicious, as was the broccoli, bean sprouts, cucumbers, carrots, and fried egg on top. I got hubby the Ranch Steak Warm Rice Bowl. The steak was so good-he let me try it. Pickled onions, jalapeños, purple rice, and falafel. He raved at how good it was. Spicy-yes. Oh it also had a ranch sauce. I got a few sides to try, sweet potatoes, Mac and cheese, which was awful, and I'd never get again, but the potatoes were pretty good. I got chicken noodle soup and coconut curry soup. It was exactly what you would expect. Fresh food in a casual setting. Lots of options to customize. I got the poke fire bowl which is quite spicy and delicious. My hubby got a bowl that was basically bibimbop. It was very good but not as good as the many Korean only places around(kosmo, Bells etc). I came here for late lunch after a long day of waiting at the Secretary of State. I appreciate their dedication to offer healthy, fresh food with plenty of choices at a reasonable price. I got the Spicy Thai chili chicken rice noodle bowel at full size (I asked to add edamame and garlic broccoli, 45c for extra topping) and there were enough food for two meals. Warning though, it came a bit more salty than I would like, probably because the spicy noodles, spicy chicken, bean sprouts and broccoli were all pre-seasoned, I should have asked for the final Thai spicy sauce on the side. I got a lemonade to wash down the saltiness, it's nice craft drink although not quite my style. The noodles felt a bit hard for me but that's personal preference. I first tried CoreLife in Toledo, OH. Food was really, really good. I ordered the chicken Cobb that time. So I was excited to see CoreLife open in Ann Arbor. I thought I'd try something different. I ordered the steak power plate. It was the wrong thing to order. The steak was extremely tough, and had gristle in every bite-totally inedible. The root vegetables were sweet potatoes and beets. Both were undercooked. Unfortunately, I did take out, so I wasn't able to return my order as inedible. The first person who took my order was not very friendly, nor very helpful with assisting me with order. She made me feel like I was annoying her because I asked a question (I'm sorry, but you are a new place. People are going to ask questions.) I also ordered a drink. I got the peach green tea. Not much flavor, as I feel it was watered down too much. Again, I've had way better brewed tea elsewhere in Ann Arbor with this price. The only reason I'm giving this place 2 stars instead of 1 star is the lady who greeted the customers at the door was very friendly and welcoming. With this very poor experience, its making me think twice about giving this place a second chance, especially I can get way better quality healthy food for a lot cheaper than this place in Ann Arbor (this was very expensive for the poor quality of food I received).
