Scheduling a consult was easy with their site, Robert initially communicated well when he was on his way during our time slot, and he was courteous and friendly during the consult. But... when i asked when i would recieve an estimate, he said a few days. This was 10 days before Christmas, so when i hadn't heard, i waited until Jan 2nd to again request the estimate, Robert responded next day apologizing and said I would have the quote ASAP, its been another couple of weeks and still no quote. Wasted mine and his time. Not sure if he runs his projects like this, as we didnt get past the estimate phase, but it didn't bode well. read more

After interviewing multiple landscape/irrigation specialists, we hired Core Landscape to level our 1/2 acre yard, install an irrigation system and ensure that we also were able to use our flood irrigation system. Very very poor quality work. We hired Core Landscape to lay travertine tile on our patio and front sidewalk, a total of 700 square feet. Their finished product was low quality work, and the list of problems is very long with both the process and final result. Tile experts told us we are now stuck with a bad patio unless we jackhammer the whole thing out and start again. When we complained about the poor job, the owner offered to have the crew come back and wash off the excess grout. After an investigator from the Arizona Registrar of Contractors came to our house and verified "extremely poor tile setting," plus "lippage" (tiles uneven) and "ponding" at various places, the owner of Core Landscape agreed to pay a partial refund. The whole process was very expensive and very frustrating. read more

Recently (02/2023) used Core Landscape again (3rd time) and as usual found Aaron to be a consummate professional providing a fair price and discussing all details. The crew led by Robert planted 16 Indian Laurels and three trees connecting all to the existing drip system. They mixed in provided mulch to the soil and removed existing plants. Great job and perfect clean up. Robert and crew were hard working, communicative, and friendly. I highly recommend Core as a professional, fairly-priced, and customer-oriented landscaping company. read more

I do not recommend this company. The initial design consultation went very well, but from that point on it went downhill. It should be noted that they sent out an inexperienced employee (I found out much later) that included some work items in the contractual agreement that the company does not handle. Because this person was a fairly new employee, someone more experienced should have reviewed the agreement (making adjustments where needed) and notified me of any changes. Instead, it took over 2 weeks to get a refund for the work items they were not able to perform. Toward the end of the project, I learned that the employee is no longer with the company. Although the work to be completed was planned three weeks before they started, there were several disappointments during the project. ----- Day 1 ----- The landscapers arrived unprepared and lacked the proper equipment to complete the work outlined for the day. They said they would arrive at 6:00 AM the next morning to complete the work, fully aware that there was another independent contractor scheduled to do other work that same morning. I expressed how important it was that they finish before the other contractor arrived. ----- Day 2 ----- The landscapers arrived between 8:30AM and 9:00AM (not 6:00 AM as agreed). Their lack of commitment impeded the other contractor scheduled for that morning. Note that the other contractor arrived on time and completed his work before the landscapers arrived, despite the inconvenience. ----- Day 3 ----- The landscapers completed the work originally outlined for Day 1. Before they left for the day, I was informed that some of the items they needed to complete the job had not been ordered yet. The items should have been ordered at some point during the three week lead time they had before starting the project. This was supposed to be the last day of the job. ----- Day 6 ----- The work that should have been finished on Day 3 was completed (minus a missing shrub on back order). However, because everyone left for the day without saying a word, I was unable to point out some issues that needed to be corrected. ----- Day 9? ----- The shrub on back order was planted and we did a final walk through. Rework included repositioning multiple drip lines (some ridiculously far away from the shrubs), replanting and aligning shrubs for visual appeal, and rock grooming (relocating rock from highly concentrated areas to multiple bare areas). All of these items should have been right from the beginning. They do not have a business office where you can stop by to talk with someone. The only means of communication is through their main number (cell), where nobody answers the phone most of the time. If you send a text message, you may or may not get a reply. They will never contact you to periodically check on your satisfaction with the project while it is in progress. However, they will reach out to you immediately (same day) after the project is completed to collect the remaining balance. If you decide to work with this company, just be aware that after the initial design consultation, your contract details will be handed off to a landscape crew that will finish the work on their schedule, disregarding any prior agreements. Nobody from the virtual "office" will reach out to you until it is time for a final payment. Your journey to a satisfactory result will be impacted by unpreparedness, delays in materials, broken commitments, and a lack of communication. However, at the end of the project, you may receive a disingenuous apology and an invalid excuse for poor communication like I did. read more

I recently purchased an older home, and have worked with Core Sprinkler to patch failing irrigation lines. I was having too many lines fail, so I asked Aaron for a quote to replace the entire system. The quote was very reasonable, and the work was completed 7/11/19. As always, I'm extremely happy with the work. My yard is about 1/3 acre, and all rock with plants and trees. We were having issues with our front yard sprinkler system and wanted to get it fixed ASAP so we could lay our winter seed. So far, I'm very happy with Core. I have a few issues... an old irrigation timer that isn't "smart", 15 years of haphazard irrigation doing who-knows-what, bad grass, and two dead trees. I saw several positive comments about Core and called them. Phil came out and we shortly had a plan of action! Replacing my grass is much less than I thought. Replacing the irrigation timer (and there's a rebate from the City of Chandler!) is much less than I thought. The trees aren't going to be cheap, but that's a big job. Overall, I'm very happy with their prices and responsiveness. I'm confident they really know their stuff. And they have regular maintenance, too, which I'm confident would be much better than many of the guys with old pickups that chop up plants and blow the leaves around. read more

Aaron was always early. He was honest about the cost effectiveness of some changes I was considering to my system. He communicated all repair work to be done along with the cost in an e-mail which included pictures of the areas to be fixed. These included several broken heads and two broken pipes. Overall, I had a positive experience and would recommend Core Sprinkler to others. Aaron (owner) runs his business with a professional attitude and with customer service rarely seen these days. Here are the pros and cons of my experience: Pros * Able to provide a competitively priced estimate within a week and start the work within 2 weeks. * Provided a line item based estimate via email which clearly outlined the item and cost. I received estimates from other companies that were done by hand and were not legible. * Responded promptly to phone / email / texts and kept me updated on the progress of the project * Took the time to answer my questions about the estimate & work being done * Willing to promptly come out for two follow-up appointments after the initial job was complete where he needed to adjust or replace faulty parts of the system. * Had the best warranty out of all the companies that I interviewed. Cons * I felt the quality control review done at the end of the job could have been more thorough. I feel some of the issues (and there were only a handful) could have been caught at the end of the job and fixed on the spot. He spent a lot of time walking our property and asking us great questions about what we wanted/didn't want. We liked him and we liked his ideas for our challenging yard and irrigation repairs. He did tell us they were booking out 3 to 4 months, but that he would send a proposal and estimate within a week or so. We were fine with that and feeling really positive about our experience with Phil. Then...nothing. A few weeks later I emailed to make sure we hadn't missed something, and again...nothing. I am very frustrated with Core Landscape. Hopefully other customers will consider twice before hiring this company for your work. I had Core Landscape replaced the whole irrigation system (supposedly a whole system, but not because it didn't replace the part under the pavers) less than bout 1.5 years ago and it started to leak probably 3 moths ago under the pavers. I have noted some of the plants are under stress, dying as well. I called the company and someone came in, told me that the leak was probably from my next door neighbor's irrigation. I know it wasn't from my neighbor because it always happened right at my scheduled irrigation time. I dug out that spot and found the leaking area, took video, photos sent to them. Someone eventually came in and seemed to fix the leak after I have called, texted the company for a numerous times. But, there hasn't been anyone to walk through with me about those died, dying plants areas. They seem don't care the end of irrigation system, if the water rich to the end or not, as long as that leak spot fixed. Regarding the plants under stress, or dying plants, they don't care. The person who fixed the leak didn't put back the pavers for a long time until I had warned them it became a hazardous, safety issue for my family and for the pool guy, landscapers and other venders etc., because it was right at the gate and people need to walk through that gate. One of the problems is that there wasn't any communication between me and the people fixing it, not even once (no phone conversation, no emails, no text). I only got to communicate with an office person during the whole time and even that the answers were not on time. I am still in dark even today. Now, I have several plants died and don't believe they would care. Even with the 5 years warranty, it doesn't seem to be any good once you have paid them the thoughts dollars. Core Sprinkler (Aaron was my contact) replaced an old sprinkler system. They did a great job. The work was done as scheduled and overall quality of the materials and installation was great. Aaron installed a different sprinkler head than was on my old system and now water wastage is signifantly down and my water bill is 25% lower. They arrived at the scheduled time. They measured and took pictures. They sent me a detailed estimate / invoice through Joist. The estimate was competitive and actually the best. Their payment plan allows you to pay half before the work is started. They answered all my questions during the estimate and afterwards. The email responses were prompt. The main reasons for choosing them were the detailed estimate, they were friendly and honest, and the estimate cost was competitive. They did a great job and cleanup afterwards. They even set my drip irrigation for both my tree and shrub lines for the season. They gave me a diagram so I'd know where the irrigation lines were laid.
