Core contractors did a great job on a recent roof repair. They are quick to respond and inspect, and sent me a detailed email of the damaged area with photos, details of the expected problem and a quote within 2 days of the inspection. They showed up in time to the repair appointment and found a few other issues with the various vent stacks that needed to be sealed or fixed and took care of those same day for no additional fee. I don't recommend this outfit. They performed initial job but "noticed additional work" that needed to be done. That work required another visit and trip charge, of course, that would equaled 40% of the first engagment's cost. No $$ relief depsite they missed the issue to start with. Terrible! They replaced our roof and in the process dropped a pallet of heavy tiles on a vent pipe, which caused damage to our plumbing. It's been seven weeks and they still won't accept responsibility. We've paid thousands of dollars for water remediation, plumbing, and electrical damage. read more

We needed a long lasting roof for our garage because we are mounting solar cells atop it and don't want to have to replace the roof before we die (the kids will have to deal with that later, if ever). Core came up with a plan for a rubber roof that was less expensive than any of the 5 other contractors I contacted, and put it on quickly and cleanly. I had a special vent in the roof that had to be changed due to city code for this kind of roof, and they replaced it with a similarly functioning one with no extra charge. They cleaned the site perfectly when they were done. I highly recommend this contractor. read more

We are in the buying process and our inspector suggested we have someone came look at the roof to see if it needed replacing. They let me know that the roof was in good shape and should last another 5 years. They were straight forward and honest about the shape of the roof. This company just finished our condos. They left a mess everywhere daily. Let their garbage get blown down the street all day without picking up and end of day clean up consists of anything directly within vicinity, if that. Nails left everywhere!!!! First day found our second floor balcony sliding screen door off the track and open when it wasn't like that in the morning when I left. Thankfully, I locked the sliding door. Cat calls and whistles ever time I left my house. Really?! Last day here and to wrap things up they left a nail on my front door mat just to rub it in after leaving. DONT use these people unless you have security cameras and/or a deep desire for a tetanus booster. read more

Core Roofing + Solar - Roofing Near Me - Denver, Colorado

CORE Contractors: Unethical (in my personal opinion) and they seem to know it. (updated 6/16/14 - read to the bottom) We recently had hail damage to the siding of our house, as did most of the homes in our neighborhood. Siding, windows, trim, gutters, paint, etc. Signs started appearing in many neighbors' yards and CORE Contractors had a number of signs that suggested they were "BBB A+ Rated" and a finalist as the "best business in 2013". I called for an estimate and Caleb Craig came out to the house. I told him we were getting a few estimates and wanted to know what they would charge to fix the damage. He said to give him the Insurance Company's paperwork and they would charge whatever the insurance company said. He said CORE uses the same 'software program' and would come to the same amount anyway, even though he had no clue what the Insurance Company thought needed to be fixed. Now I run a small business. I would NEVER let some else dictate my prices for materials and labor unless I KNEW in advance I would make out like a bandit. My insurance company's adjuster said that you should never give the contractor the insurance company's work. The contractor should do his or her own measurements and estimates for materials and labor. They know their costs and should come up with their own numbers. You can suggest the things to look at (like gutters, windows, etc., thing the adjuster saw) but they need to do their own work. Caleb, the sales agent, called back after a day or so and suggested that we were trying to commit insurance fraud by not providing the information from the insurance company. He did not offer an estimate from CORE. What I have discovered, from other contractors' estimates, is that CORE was trying to abuse the system and get ALL of the money the insurance company had to offer, whether the job required it or not. In fact, that type of behavior constitutes Insurance Fraud according to our agent. After talking with the owner (Dan Grant, who said he was the owner of the company) and playing him the voice message Caleb left on our answering machine, we were told that Caleb needed 'additional training' and shouldn't have said what he did, and that they would be glad to give us an independent estimate. That's the last we have heard from CORE Contractors. UPDATE: 06/16/2014 - AFTER posting the last review, Dave called from CORE Construction and made arrangements to come and give us an estimate. He came out, was very pleasant and measured the house. We had asked for two estimates, one to fix the three sides of broken siding that the insurance company was covering, and a second estimate to upgrade to a slightly higher grade of siding for all four sides. Two days later I got the estimates, the one to fix the house was 40% higher than the next highest estimate and 50% higher than the contractor we choose. The one to replace all of the siding with the next higher grade was 30% higher than the next highest bid and nearly 60% higher than contractor we chose. I could only take away that they were politely telling me they didn't want my business. They didn't get it. Clearly they don't operate using honest and ethical practices or follow through on their word. At least I found out before we signed a contract. read more

I work with Core contractors on a regular basis and they are an absolutely top notch organization. I work in the solar industry and we are constantly meeting customers who are replacing their roof before installing a solar electric system at their home. I've had the pleasure of working with Nate Christensen on over 15 projects where Core was able to help a homeowner replace their roof. Typically Core has helped the customer file an insurance claim so that they don't have an out of pocket cost beyond their deductible. The biggest standout testimonial came from my parents house in Centennial where the insurance company had come out the year prior and told them there was not enough hail damage to file a claim even though all of the neighbors were receiving new roofs. Nate told my parents to schedule a time for the insurance adjuster to come out and that he would meet him on site. Upon climbing on the roof they had to spend all of 60 seconds up there for the adjuster to agree to buy the replacement roof for them. 2 years later they have a great looking hail resistant roof and solar panels! I would never want the lowest price and potentially shoddiest work done on the system that keeps water from entering and destroying my house. I don't drive around the cheapest car I could possibly buy nor will you find me using a flip phone here in 2015. Core offers quality workmanship and a competitive price. I also know that Core went out and got some donations to help some of the folks who had been taken for a ride by disreputable roofing companies last year. I had an outstanding experience with Core. We had a lightweight concrete tile roof that had caused us a great deal of trouble over the past 17 years. We finally decided to get rid of it and replace it with good quality asphalt shingles. Nate developed a proposal and estimate. The price was very competitive and he was the most responsive of all the roofers we contacted. One thing we particularly liked was he would also be our project manager, so he knew exactly what we had discussed and all our concerns. The team was on-time and worked extremely hard. The project went like clockwork, and Will made sure all our concerns were covered, and that any questions that came up were promptly and completely addressed. Shout out for Core Contractors - came to check my roof and respond to a few issues I had, and they found some others but also told me I didn't need a new roof. They easily could have done that! Professional from start to finish, with visit to the house and inspection, the report within a few days, , then service guy (Paul) who came out exactly when they said and worked in the heat for 4 hours. Come winter, a leak appeared near the gutter, and Paul came out again - this time in a freeze - and figured out how to fix it. I have damage to siding, roof, deck, gutter, and vents and Ameriprise stiffed me on the coverage but David was refreshingly honest and advised me to find someone that will do all of the work since his company really specializes in roofs and due to that, he would run over what insurance prices out. They did more damage to my home than repairs. It was a 7-month nightmare. They hired uninsured and incompetent subcontractors. On top their incompetence, they were condescending, unresponsive and unorganized. It took me weeks to even get them to acknowledge they were fired. The first part of dealing with Core was excellent. They dealt with my insurance, got differences between the two settled. Core even looked at the city's regulations on my garage I was quite impressed. But then... Billing was sent with a two day noticed and no ability to pay on line. If you are going to things with snail mail you need to allow more lead time. The first day was delayed due to weather. They had told me I need to be there when the arrived (I did not) and then didn't call to say they weren't going to show until 3 hours after I got to work when I already given up. They told me it was a 1 day job. So I didn't cancel my plans at home for the following day. If was a full two day job and at no point did they inform me of that. I would have been nice at the end of a day for an update but an attempt to get one for the crew was met with silence even when I broke out my broken Spanish. The crew that did came out kind of trashed my place. Anything cable or tubing that was on the roof was simple not reconnect. Nothing worked. This was something that would take 10 minutes if are on the roof but caused me lots of issues for days as I had to call people to fix what they broke. A flower bed was trampled over with no apparent thought. They did clean for the most part though. I don't get paid to take time off so not only is their cost to repair these things but I am lost income in dealing with them. The estimate I have put together is about $500 more out my pocket - and the annoyance. At one point they called me (they didn't even know my name, although I was paying over $10,000 to them) to get approval how they were going to some work. It was technical. What am I doing taking time from work to learn roofing terminology? I had to call a friend to ask the question. I don't anything about roofing - it is why I hired what I thought was professionals. What are they asking on how I want the work done to such details? But wait they weren't done. They had work to do. Which for over a month they'd call and say they were coming out in two days. I looked the weather and see two days was snow. So they didn't show. And I get a call the next day saying "We'll be out...". And so on. Guess what? The day the finally did show nobody had called ahead of time. I only got calls for dates they didn't show on. I count over 15 phone calls, each requiring I had to leave my job, that didn't accomplish anything. So they showed and left one day with my yard trashed. And then I got a call saying the work was completed. And then two days later, wondering what to with the part of the roof still on the ground and them not listening to fact it wasn't done, a crew shows up without notification after the insurance company was told the work was done and finished the job. And those people left large amount of waste in my yard. I had to hire people to remove it. I had no clue what to do with it. The work itself isn't 100% great. There were raised shingles I can spot with my eye and inspection showed need to be hammer down some more. I am too old to climb on roofs and do that so I had to buy a friend dinner to get him to climb up and due the work since Core wasn't about to come back (that was clear). It's solid work, but shows signs of being done quick with no care that is something that should last 20 years (or so I was told). That is only true if the original work is done well. Overall the extra cost of hiring people to finish what they didn't and the lost of work time was close to $800. In short I hope there is a better roofing company out there. The new roof work gets a B or B+ in quality. The ability to clean up gets a D. The ability for Core to have good communications is an F. read more

CORE has been amazing to work with. After a hail storm in August, I filed a claim and had my insurance company come out to take a look. They sent an independent 3rd party (I think), and gave an estimate of $500 worth of damage. I knew this was wrong because they didn't even address the siding damage. I asked around, and my brother referred me to CORE. He had worked with them a few years ago on a hail damage job, and highly recommended their QUALITY of work, as well as their CARE for the customer. I gave Andrew Schmidt a call, one of the owners, and he responded promptly. He came out personally and did an evaluation of the damage, and agreed that their should have been more. After walking me through the details of asking for a 2nd estimate, he personally came out again and walked through the damage with the insurance adjuster. The claim went from $500 to $12,000 because of his advocation! The help didn't stop there. Andrew and his team were with me through the entire process. If I had a question, they were there to help. By the end of the process, we had a new exterior and a trustworthy team of experts in the restoration business. Their service and quality of work, as well as their outstanding nature as individuals, couldn't be better! They are the type of business that I could only hope other businesses would strive to be like. Core Contractors just completed the roof replacement on my house in Golden. Nate Christianson was the rep I dealt with and he was very professional. I received no upfront pressure on whether the replacement was an insurance job or private pay. They quoted me straight up for the work and stuck exactly to their quote. The job looks great! Their crew was courteous, hard working, and left the job site immaculate. Nate showed up on the first day of the job to be certain the crew was on-site, working, and that everything planned was what we had agreed upon. A crew supervisor (Abraham) was on-site for the entire job. My interactions with the office staff (scheduling and billing) were excellent. Materials remaining after completion of the job were picked up by Abraham and unopened/unused materials were credited back to my final invoice. I received 5 bids for my roof--Core was not the lowest nor were they the highest; however, they were the most professional of all the companies who provided quotes for my job. Core contractors was great! They took very good care of us while replacing our roof, dealt with the insurance company and explained all of the options clearly. The installers were nice and respectful and kept us up to date on the progress. There was a hiccup with the initial schedule but they resolved it quickly. The office called often to keep us up to date and whenever I called the person I talked to either had an answer for me or found someone who had the answer and they always called back if not available at the time. DON'T DO IT! My experience with Core has been horrible . I started the process in Early June to replace my roof due to Hail damage in May 2017. It has been six months and it still has not been full complete . My insurance agent referred me to Core . I had trust in American Family and therefore signed the contract. Little did I know American Family and Core would go back and forth for months to agree on a price . During that process , I had to get two other estimates. Both roofing company's agreed to American Family price and I could of had it completely by them without any hassle . Core choose to put my roof on a day it was cold and started to snow . They got tar and glue on the siding of my home . My Roof looked horrible on the day of install . When I called to express my frustration I was told it will be fine . Seriously ? They informed me that once you have several warm days the shingles will adhere . I called the shingle manufacturer and spoke to their technical department and they clearly told me that if wind , snow , rain , dirt get under the shingle it will not adhere . It was clearly stated on their install instructions . I paid and outside contractor to evaluate my roof and the report show the north side is not sealed down . The city still has not signed off on my Roof . Now , I am headed into Winter with no reassurance this will be fix. The company's communication is so fragmented you are stuck. read more
